MYou 40cm Big Baby Discussion

I wanted to share that I had some luck with BFC Ink clothing for my Matcha doll. They are less young child and more tween? But there are some cute pieces. The BFC Ink doll line has been discontinued, so stock will get more limited, but they are not too much for some sets. (Sorry for my awful lighting)

 

Awe she looks adorable! I love how the little shoes look on her. Mine was crammed into traditional MSD shoes cinderella style.

 

How did you guys decide what body to get for your girls and boys? And if you picked the big baby body how did you decide between the bigger and smaller feet? I see lots of beautiful boys and girls here but it's hard to see which skin tones they are. Am I correct to assume most here are just the normal skin? I've noticed there's a pink normal and a yellow normal too. So many choices to make, haha~

 

Has anyone tried I am Sunny clothes on Etsy on the BB body? I just ordered a Loretta from the Junkyspot and I would love to see one in I am Sunny’s clothes if you have bought any and they fit. Also what shoes would work well for a bb body? Thanks!

 

I haven't tried their Disney Animator sized clothes yet, but I bought some 1/4 clothes from them before and one of them was a snug fit and one doesn't quite close. I have the pear body, but the top half is about the same size as the BB body IIRC.

IamSunnie is really easy to work with. I didn't want the see-through lace sleeves and they changed the sleeves for no extra cost when I ordered January 2019.

I have a Big Baby Matcha and Dongdong girl dolls. They both have the "Small Foot" option. I use Monique doll shoes which are 64mm long and 26mm wide for both of them. I created clothing for them since Disney Animator clothes did not fit well. Here are two examples.

She's wearing stockings for minifee and a Smart Doll wig and clothes-the shirt is a little baggy but the skirt fits really well!

 

Hey everyone! I’m wondering if anyone has Xiao Zhuo and could show me some photos! I’ve seen one secondhand and he is so cute and I’m trying to decide whether to go for him or not! Also, what kind of size are they compared to a standard msd? I know they’re chunky but was wondering by how much! Thanks!

 

Can’t help with the pics but I can help with sizing. Basically they’re the height of MSD with the proportions of SD. They’ll need their own wardrobe.

Luckily, I’ve found that clothes made for those child Disney Princess dolls (having a brain fart on the name of them just now) fit BBs well. AND they’re inexpensive. There are a few sellers on Etsy who make clothes.

Also, Dollmore’s Mokushura outfits also fit, at least the dresses.

And of course most companies that sell the BBs also sell clothes made specifically for them.

Also! I wanted to ask what size eyes you all get for your dolls? I’ve no idea what size the ones he came with are and would like to get him some new ones

 

@littleraeven, I think they take 18-22mm eyes.

 

Anyone have a Marshmallow? I'm wondering how she looks in person and if she'd make a good male.

Recently caught the BB bug with a Luts Baby Delf and now I'm looking into a male Myou BB to go along with her.

 

Another question;

Anyone have the pear shaped Myou big baby and a Luts Baby Delf? I found a pic of the other Myou big baby body compared to a baby delf but not the pear body. I'm a little worried they'll look weird together

 

Thanks for the pic! Seems about the same as the 27cm compared to the 30cm between the two Myou BB bodies. I actually am getting a Matcha with the pear body so I'll be able to take comparison pics of her to a baby delf once she arrives. :>

 

That's great news. I'm looking forward to seeing them together. I only have Baby Delf in this size. My Myoudolls are all of a tinier size.

 

So question. What pants are a better fit for Myou BB; standard msd or sd13? I'm looking into ordering some clothes and considering if it might be better to get some smaller SD female pants/shorts and modify them a bit or do standard msd already fit?

Edit: forgot to mention that I'd specifically like to know this about the pear body!

 

I don't have any standard msd clothes as most of my minis are slim.

But, I tried some SD sized shorts on my Matcha. She's on the pear body. The fit is a little big. It makes me think msd sized clothing would be too small. The SD clothes will need small modifications to fit properly.

I didn't have any pants to try on her. I've used SD sized shirts as oversized tee shirt dresses. Button down shirts also fit although they are a long in the torso. I've also used SD sized socks as stocking. Really, she's just a miniature SD girl.

 

For the pear body, loose/wide MSD tops for the more kiddy-shaped/non-slim MSD size can work on them, seems to depend on the particular maker and the style of clothes, but MSD bottoms absolutely do not fit.

My SD girl leggings couldn't fit well on my pear body (granted, these are hecking tight even on SD girls, so a loose design shorts miiiigghhht work?). SD boy shorts fit well.

I don't have any SD girls on the smaller end at the moment so I don't have some loose-fit SD girl shorts to try. Iplehouse HID lady is significantly larger in the booty, but my Senior Delf boy's butt measurements weren't too crazy different.

I bought a Myou mousee in pink skin about a month ago. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend etsy or aliexpress stores that do custom sizing? The only one I know of is pabadoll.

 

Matcha arrived! They're on the girl body but I'm making them a little boy. Name undecided so far. I'm so happy he's taller than my Luts big baby too! I'll eventually get around to taking comparison photos. >.<

Was wondering if anyone owns a Marshmallow? Would like to see owner pictures. I wanting to get one.

 

I just started looking at these, do they pose well? Also what is the difference between the version 2 body and the anime body?

 

Anime body has a much smaller neck and slightly smaller feet as the main differences. The anime body can come in a single part torso as well that the pear baby doesn't offer. Haven't managed to see them side by side yet so that's all I've found so far.

As for posing, they are more of aesthetics over posability. Really nice to look at and technically double jointed but limited. Elbows and knees only bend about half way but have little locking notches to help stay bent.

 

Thank you, I'm not expecting it to do any crazy poses, was mainly wondering about sitting well, maybe slouching, and touching face type arm mobility.

 

I love myou big babies so much!!! its a little bit hard to find clothes for them though, i think theyre a little bigger than other big bbs. So far ive had luck with slim 1/3 female tops, theyre long enough to fully cover their torso so their cute lil belly aint hangin out, and 1/3 skirts fit nicely and arent too short. My myou dongdong is the biggest chunkiest doll i have

 

I never got around to doing a comparison thing that extensive on the Myou pear big baby body but I did do one on the yosd line of the regular yosd and the pear yosd bodies. They're honestly just a scaled down version and pose the same. So if that interests you I have them posted here. The pear bodies cannot touch their faces unfortunately but they can sit and slouch ok.

 

My Sandra arrived and I was able to get a really cute outfit that just fits. I had to remove her hands to get the dress on, but so worth the effort. I got her default wig, it’s pretty, but it has quite a few fly-a-ways so I ordered some Volks wig oil and styling spray. Last on the list is some shoes, then Persimmon will be complete.

 

I've really been tempted to get a Dingding, but I can't find a single owner pics of her! I guess I'm the only one who thinks she's the cutest...

 

Taking my dolls out of boxes now that we've mostly settled in.

 

This may be a bit of a random request, but if anyone happens to own the Myou pear shaped/anime body and the standard Myou MSD body, I was wondering if you could do a bit of a hand swap for me?
I've been thinking of getting the pear shaped/anime body.... but the hands put me off a little, they're just too chunky for my liking. So I was wondering if the 1/4 hands on the normal Myou MSD body would work? If they would fit/if they would look ok?

 

I don't have a pear body, but I have the MSD body, and my personal opinion is that she has my least favorite hands of any of my minis. They're just kind of square and awkward. Maybe you can find some more elegant ones or poseable ones.

 

is anyone able to confirm or deny if the pear body measurments listed on alice's collections are accurate? my boy wont arrive for a while so i can't measure myself but i would like to order some clothes that will fit

 

I recently adopted a Marshmallow in Coffee with a custom faceup. Marshmallow actually has a slightly opened mouth that would have enough room to sculpt tiny teeth, so I'm tempted to give this little one buck teeth some day soon.

 

Hi, new to the hobby and just wanted to share a few pics of my Myou boys, the one on the left (in first pic) is Xiaozuo with the original body in tan and on the right is Mousee with pear body in coffee.

They actually sent Mousee with the wrong body type, I asked for original and got pear.
Have to give props to Myou, they sending the original body free of charge so can’t fault the company!

Anyway thought would be good opportunity to share my thoughts on the 2 body types.
I do prefer the original body especially for boy doll, I feel the pear is too curvy and more suitable for girl dolls. Also I like the pose of the original more as it’s double jointed giving really good range of movement.

pear is still nice though!

 

@Luxe - your boys are really cute! I love the pear body but you make a good point for boys being on the original body. I had both Xiaozuo and Mousee but had to sell them a couple years ago when we had big vet bills. My plan is to replace them both some day.

I only have experience with Myou so have nothing to compare but am really impressed with the quality, I think I’ll keep the pear body and buy a new head for it, I have my eye on Anthony.

 

@Luxe Your boys are adorable! Love to see a Xiaozuo in the wild as we don't see that sculpt too often. He looks great in tan.

For shoes, all my big babies wear Sasha Doll shoes.
