MYou 40cm Big Baby Discussion

I used to live very near to one of the American Girl retail stores & I took my Baby Delf in one day - eyeballing it, there were some Wellie Wisher stuff I thought *might* work but I wasn't confident enough to buy it. Wellie Wishers are pretty slim bodied.

l did end up getting Mary Ellen's sleeper sofa and Kit's desk & thought that was a cute fit so if anyone was looking for furniture for big baby size dolls... XD

 

I'm going to take a chance and buy a Wellie Wisher's outfit (it was $9 so won't be out too much if it doesn't fit well).

I was getting ready to complain that JunkySpot hasn't restocked any dolls in a LONG time but then checked last night and they have new stock in However, I'm still going to complain because they only got the dolls with the big baby body and not any of the pear shaped bodies I so prefer the pear shaped body (have decided to replace the 3 BB bodies with the pear shaped body for my Nianer, Mousee and BuXiaoqi). I want Marshmallow but then I'd have to replace her body too if I got her through JS. I sent them an email to ask if they would get any in on the pear body (crosses fingers)

 

@Mu Shu Let us know how it goes! I keep buying Wellie wishers accessories, but no clothes yet besides the apron.

 

After several years of being content with my crew, I broke down because of these cutie pies and bought another doll.

Meet Tip.



He's got the dark lip line people warned of, but only the faintest traces of the glitter people mentioned (and even then it's only noticeable in certain light). I adore him. Though I had really planned to reshell another doll into this one and... well. That didn't happen at all. Instead he stole another's cosplay wig and demanded brown eyes. A bit much for such a shy boy. Now I have to figure out how to get boy clothes for him!

The only disappointment was the fullset wig. It's a mess! Missing wefts, ragged edges, the left side is almost two inches longer than the other... I've tried everything and I can't work with it! It's why I had to steal another grey wig. Really disappointed about that; that fullset wig was supposed to replace the wig he's now wearing (for a completely different doll to boot)!

 

I love him @LilTigre! He seems so sweet, and not at all embarrassed about snatching someone else's wig! Lol!
It seems many people are disappointed with the MYou wigs now. Its too bad, because the dolls and outfits are so well done!

 

I've been traveling for work so haven't had time to respond if WW clothes fit or not. I started out with just a relatively cheap swimsuit (it was $9 but wasn't going to be out much if it didn't fit). The swimsuit is really cute and I'm happy to say that it FITS on the big baby body It does NOT fit well on the pear shape body

After seeing that it fit on the regular big baby body, I decided to try some other things. The official tagged clothing for the WW all seem to fit the big baby body. I have a few "handmade" outfits that also fit but definitely have to be careful with the handmade stuff as one dress was thinner through the torso and would not close in the back There was one handmade dress that fit the pear shape body. I'll try and post pics in the photo reference section since there are multiple photos.

Sadly the shoes do NOT fit (they are like 1/8" too small )

I recently got a doll with the pear shaped body and was able to try out some outfits for Glitter Girls, which are a similar size to Wellie Wishers. I got two packs and they fit pretty good, they are definitely smaller on the BB Body than Glitter Girls though.



The shoes she is wearing are from Myou and the GG shoes don't fit right but if you really wanted you could probably make the sandals work.

Which of the two bodies can fit into Rosenlied dresses?

 

I have the pear shape body. Rosenlied Holiday dresses fit nicely.

 

Thank you for your help. I'm toying with the idea of getting Nianer at some point and I lthink I like the look of the pear-shaped body best.

 

I like the pear shape body too. Also pear shape does not have the bigger feet, which I think is hard to fit, but I could be wrong..

She's adorable and the dress makes her look even more so. I really like lace as well as the black and white contrast.

@Oliveoil - I have Matcha on the pear shaped body and she has big, chubby feet compared to my Nianer who is just on the BB body with much smaller feet. I prefer both the pear shaped body and the larger feet. So far all of the shoes that I've bought for them fit both bodies well.

@Allie27 - I have Nianer (impulse buy from JunkySpot some time ago). Absolutely love her in person (although wish she were on the pear shaped body). In person her face up is beautiful, however in all of her pictures she looks like she's been beat up as the blushing is too heavy under her eyes I've got to find a way to tone that down without ruining her face up.

And, I wanted to see if any of the clothes from Walmarts "My Life" line would fit any of these dolls (mainly for my boys as they are seriously lacking clothes). Both boys are on the BB body. The pants overall are a decent fit. The tops are way big and I'll need to do some taking in, but for $10 each outfit not bad.

That is good to know. I have the smaller size too.
Junky Spot has measurements and if you were to order Big Baby and not specify which feet size I think you are going to get the bigger ones. Big Baby 5.8cm x 2.6; Pear Shape 5.6cm x 2.4. I could be wrong. That was one of the reasons why I ordered Pear Shape because I prefer the smaller feet. It is very good to know that shoes fit both. Awhile ago there was some concern.

@Oliveoil - I wish Junky Spot would stock more with the pear shape body. I asked them, but they replied that most everyone wanted the regular body

 

That is too bad. The pear shape I prefer as well.

 

Has anyone ever placed an order with Myou Doll that consisted of accesories only? I'm wondering how long I can expect to wait if I just bought an outfit or two. I remember it took about 5 months for my last order to ship but, that order was for a 1/4 Delia doll and everything that came with it, except the faceup.

Hi All! I'm really loving all of the cute dolls in this thread!

I'm shopping for a doll to be the daughter of my Loongsoul Emily (doll in my avatar), and I'd really love your input! I'm mostly looking for a doll that looks like they'd be related to Vesper (visible teeth aren't a deal breaker, but I would really love if the sculpt did have them).

Does anyone have more pics of BuXiaoQi? I feel like he looks a lot like Vesper, and would probably be a really cute girl. (or twins. You wouldn't have to twist my arm too hard for twins).
The other sculpt on the top of my list is MYou Loretta. She's really cute. I'm wondering - does she have sculpted teeth?

No, Loretta has slightly-parted lips but no visible teeth.

 

My Emily is 58cm tall, and her head is an 8-9. Dad is 63cm with a 9in head.

Age-wise, she'd probably be around 7 yrs most of the time.

Are the BB-size dolls meant to scale more with 60cm size, or with larger dolls?

I currently have a LS Momo (41cm, 7in head, slim mini) shelled as her daughter. Momo works for the character as a preteen, but only really when she's with other slim mini dolls. I feel like she's too dainty next to my 1/3 dolls.

What about the pear body? Is it a big baby body or just a heftier MSD? Maybe that would work for her?

 

I have my Matcha sitting up with my other SD cos she has the same size heads as the other ones. Even tho I have her in an MSD dress and shoes.

 

Good point, the head is really the issue, isn't it?

Kymera, Dollmore's Alexdoll girl is kind of chubby, and it looks like her head is msd sized. If I were you, I'd take a good look at Dollmore; they have lots of odd sizes.

 

Hello! Does anyone have a Volks SD10 body that they can try their Matcha head(or any other sculpt) on?
I've been trying to search for pictures of this, but can't seem to find any.

 

To get a picture of their proportions relative to some 1/3 dolls here is my MYou big baby with a Feeple65/Doll Leaves (Evan) hybrid and my April Story girl which is 55cm. I think she looks good with the large 1/3 size doll but def a little big for smaller ones.

I don't have a Volks SD10 body but here's XiaoYou on and Elfdoll Rainy body, which is about 55cm but def more mature than your looking for. May be helpful though to see the head on a 1/3 body, I know I always like seeing different hybrids around even if just for curiosity's sake

I actually took a photo of my Matcha next to my Minifee Unoa hybrid today and the BB just look monsterous compared to minifees.

Hello Everyone! I'm very new to this hobby and have just ordered my first doll, a Myou BB Matcha from Junky Spot! Your pictures and comments on this thread inspired me so much, I just had to share!

 

Congrats! Matcha is adorable and MyouDoll is a great choice overall for someone starting out. They’re beautiful dolls.

Thank you Stormlight and Manaphyyy! I'm really looking forward to her arrival! And I had to order wigs because I didn't want her to be bald for too long lol! The wigs I ordered don't have bangs tho. Does anyone find that without bangs, their dolls' extra large heads look....well, extra large?

 

I have mine hanging out with mostly SD girls so she looks pretty normal.

 

I’ve had my girls in wigs without bangs. I think as long as it isn’t positioned too far back on the head, it won’t make the forehead look overly large.

I also plan on getting Marshmallow at some point in the future. She's such a gorgeous sculpt! Probably will get her in tan skin.

 

There is just something about their bodies I absolutely adore. Plus the jointing is just so well done! I'm so partial to Matcha as well since I also have one. .

 

I just received my first Myou Big Baby doll Matcha! I gave her some new 17mm Masterpiece Rhineland soft glass eyes and a new wig. She is wearing the prototype dress I made for her today.

 

She looks fantastic! I love your fabric choices. Beautiful eyes and wig.

 

Matcha will be a wonderful model! I love all of the Liberty Tana Lawn print fabrics. This fabric is Queen of Hearts B (Lilac).

I have been a dealer for Masterpiece eyes for over 20 years when I was a Reborn doll artist. Now I like to see how the Masterpiece soft glass silicone eyes look in BJD dolls as well. I just ordered some of the new Mako Soul eyes and am hoping they will be good choices for my dolls.

 

I am still trying different wigs on Matcha and this Blonde Monique Peggy Sue A size 8-9 wig looks pretty good. I purchased this Disney Animator dress for her and it fits perfectly. It has a longer length so it works well since Matcha is taller than the Animator 16 inch dolls.
