Cute :3 I love her new blue hair! Her bag is cool. I second the rubber band around the head thing, I've heard that works pretty well. Her had it the cutest thing! I want one!
Im in totally love of your outfits. Very well-made (better then anything i could make xD) especially the pants. They look soo awesome. i really love your multicoloured wig too.
Don't envy--the point to this thread is--I started here, not too good, but I'm getting better. And you don't have to post your initial attempts, which may not be up to your standards, shall we say. Please give it a try; if you stopped walking the first time you fell, you'd still only be crawling. And maybe soon we can admire clothes You made in a thread of your own. Ann in CT
>3< I got a 45 Stitch Brother Sewing Machine, new fabric, and a 10 mega pixel digital camera for my birthday!!! =D So I made Viveka a pleated skirt, stockings, and I made her a new beanie. (I left my other one at my friend's house and she moved away >: ) The glasses and cellphone I ordered for her arrived yesterday!
So cute~ xD I looove the skirt. it's awsome~ Tho, you should try ironing it if you can, (and/or if you haven't already) to make the pleats more flat and nice.
That's so cute! I love her new wig! Actually, is it new or is it an older one? Anyways, it looks good! The chain on her skirt is really super cool too! Is it made from a charm bracelet chain or something else or...? Do you happen to have a pattern lying around anywhere for how to make wigs *got fur swatches in the mail today*
It's the same blue wig I made, but I cut some bangs into it. :3 I have a make-shift...instructions(?) I did to show how I made the wig. I can't guarantee it'll fit your doll, though. XD Swatch 1 is long pile fur- Swatch 2 is the white tipped fur. I cut off the white tips and the fur colors matched. :3 Also, I bought a length of chain in the crafts section at walmart. :3
Thanks for the instructions! I *think* I'm following and understanding it. I'll try it out on my girl with some other sort of fabric first ^^ Oooh sweet! I must find walmart! And chains! ((as is my girl has a chain belt made of a charm bracelet... but it's cute ^^))
OH WOW....I love your clothes so much!!! They are so darling and cuuuute!!!!! Are you thinkin' about taking commissions?
Oh wow! It's all so good! I know everything I made when I first started to sew was ... um. Yeah. 8D But anyway, these are all so cute. Keep up the great work!! Your doll is lovely~
Due to limited fabric...I decided to make a *PUNK* lolita dress! I didn't have very nice lace for the corset so...it's a little rough. I'm going to find some better lace for stringing it soon. :3
All the clothes you've made are so cute! I love the plaid skirt and the pink bunny hat. You really should think about taking commissions. I'm sure you could make a lot of amazing clothes!
Very cute outfits! It's amazing how much you've progressed in your sewing in such a short time, and your aesthetic for designing is really neat. ^_^
You have inspired me to take the plunge and make some clothes for my incoming boy. As soon as I can get my sewing machine from my mom, I plan on starting. Thank you for showing me that making clothes can be done!
Outfits are cute. Shortcuts in sewing are doomed to fail. Serge, zig-zag, or buttonhole stitch all unfinished or unhemmed edges. Look at how your own clothes were assembled and just repeat in miniature.
I love the pants, especially where they are frayed on the bottom as if they've been stepped on some. Hopefully there will be more of your work around.
:3 To go along with my girlie's new faceup (that I did myself. >3<) I made her a better hoodie. I'd like to thank Inuchick for being such an awesome friend and helping me through this stuff. X3 (Oh, and if you haven't seen her faceup, here you go!)
Wow kayke! It looks great! And no prob for helping out, sorry it took so long to explain. >_< Overall I'd say this is your most "finished" looking piece so far. *nod of approval* The only thing I'd suggest is if you're not going for a frayed look, then finish your edges somehow, whether it be zigzag stitching or hemming. The ribbing and finished hood look somewhat out of place because of the unfinished neckline and pocket. BUT that's just my .02 ^__^ I'm so glad you like it. Hip-hip-hooray for you!!! P.S. Viv's got me drooling over how much more mature she looks with this new faceup. Srsly man, you dun good. Even Li agrees!! And that's saying something! (although admittedly, he isn't drooling with me, he's giving me a look of disgust) Lol!
Omfg. Lolita~~~ *o* :3 I made a bunny headdress, lolita dress, bloomers, and stockings. The back has a giant bow and zipper- but I didn't get any clear pics of that part. <: Everything is hemmed and finished- except those V cut shapes on the dress. DX I tried zig-zag stitching them but it didn't work too well.
qwow you sewing and clothes are amazing...I think I would love to learn how to sew for my doll...it would mean saving $$ and also some fun as well!!
=D Dresses for sale! http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156525 @Nana: I think it's black cotton.
You have some AMAZING work!!! I wish I could get into the Marketplace... for some reason I just can't yet, but hopefully soon!
do you use a sewing machine? I ask because you might have an overlocking stitch which would be better for the rough edges than your hems or just fray checking them it might also be worth saving up for a serger they're one of those things that you don't need until you have one and then wondered how you ever lived without your designs are nice but could be tidied up with some minimal changes - lining in some, edging in others, even something as simple as trimming the edges with pinking shears if you know anyone who sews pick their brains, you'll learn so much that way, if not try books from the library, and experiment buy patterns to see how they go together try different fabrics, if it doesn't work you learned something doing it (like if you machine stitch stretch fabric it works better to do it over a sheet of paper so the grip feed actually works) You're learning curve is very high but we all have room to improve
You have an awesome sense of style! All these clothes are so fun looking. And you improve like crazy. Seraphim above me has lots of good tips though for getting better though. You really make me want to get off my lazy but and start attempting to sew.
It's so pretty! I hardly ever use patterns when making small stuff, cuz' I think it's easier to work on.. To this day, I'v ACTUALLY made one horrid hoodie and a total three kimonos (actually one, and it just has three layers) and I'v noticed that hand sewing is the WORD.. But your stuffs are so PrEtTy! It's not the usual only black or white, dull and used stuff, but new and really beautiful things! I suggest you make the crotch parts a bit more... aumm... Atleast what I'v noticed, in human sized pants I'v made, you have to make two different lines of sewing to the crotch anyways, so with a doll I think you should go with that too.. Make it as strong as you can. yes. (I'm sounding REALLY good and reasonable ain't I... I wonder if anyone understands me at all :'D)
More and more gorgeous work to be seen You have such a great style, I love it, almost as much as I love your Cherry, she's adorable
Finally, I've sewn something! It's been months! Well, my new boy is going to be arriving soon so I have to make Viveka look presentable with a new outfit! [I did not make the undies, I bought them from luts.]
