My Dolls [Update:Dec30,08]

Dec 14, 2006

    1. Beeeeautiful job on those sculpts Jean. It's a talent most of us don't have. :)

    2. Ah, beautiful!! I love your work XD I've been quietly watching the whole process (off and on, as I'm online...off and on) - Renia is gorgeous, and like many of those that flit through the thread, I would be MOST interested in purchasing should you decide to sell her :3

    3. WOW!!! I fell in love with this doll head!! She's so beautiful and my heart just melted -- love love love dolls with black hair and dark eyes!! And she has a perfect face! You're such a talented artist!! :D :love

    4. That is absolutely amazing!

    5. I have only just seen this head...and I'm very impressed. If she goes on sale, you may foil my attempts at not buying any more dolls. She's just beautiful.

    6. Agreed! She has a very soft expression, and expressive eyes. She really is very beautiful.

    7. I agree with all the others, Reina is very lovely :D I love the colour of those eyes too, stands out very well.

      Maomao is adorable!!

    8. Such a amazing and gorgeous job!!

    9. Such an inspiration~!!

    10. Jean, I have a question for you.

The putty you put in the Super Sculpey, what brand/type is it? Do you keep building the putty and sanding away until it is egg-shell smooth (like in your "resin ver"photo?)

    11. Thank you all~I am really happy about still getting replys after such a long time~~~>333<

      penguu,
Hihi~The putty I used was TAMIYA, the Japanese brand. Actually I think every brand would work, like Mr. Colour's, as long as they are the same stuff. By the way the number I used was 1000, so needs a little finner sanding after sprayed. But even though I might have applied 1-3 times, a few layers each time on Reina's head, I should have only done it once, 3-4 layers, after it's totally sand as smooth as possible. Sanding away the putty and then reapply is not gonna be very smmoth...><

Ps.If you are using super sculpy as well, spraying putty is not very necessary for casting. It's hard and not dusty and oil based already. =) The sculpy surface can be casted no problem. If using air dry clay, Liquid putty can prevent it from breaking and water and so...

    12. OMG! *¬*

she is perfect! very beautiful XD

      amazing job!

    13. She's so pretty and elegant! ^x^

    14. Reina was one of the first dolls I fell in love with. If you ever sell a cast of her, I really hope I have enough money. :aheartbea

    21. I really really like your work, but I noticed in the newest picture the symmetry of the nose and mouth are a bit shifted. The sculpting is marvelous, but the nose and mouth are canted!

    41. Oh my gosh, Reina is amazingly gorgeous! :o If I wasn't in the make-your-own doll forum I would have thought you must have ordered her from some amazing professional sculptor - I'm sure if you made more of her, people would definitely buy it! :D
