    3. I had a chance to see the doll in person at Otakon!!! it was...TALL! It's nice. I had a chance to play with the head and hand. Donn wasn't there...I wasn't comfortable in asking the other two guys if I could pick up the full doll.

      I was glad to see this.


      Donn, hopefully you will be at Tekkosho in Pitt...and Matsuri in Northern Columbus...and Ohayo in Columbus.

Ill deffinately be setting up at Tekkosho this spring.

    8. I think someone has already asked this but - will you be releasing any exotic skin colored dolls, like blue, dark gray and perhaps a very dark tan? (Or even red? Or Green! Picollo Cosplay anyone? Um... :oops: )

    9. :o your dolls are so beautiful. I hope next year I might visit you at Otakon and see these in person (if you go again). It's incredible that you can make your own dolls like this, and they're just beautifully done.

      Dunno if anyone else has mentioned it (haven't gone through the whole thread) but the white tone'd doll really reminds me of Eric Draven from the Crow. lol... what a face up that would be.

    11. I intend on releasing darker colored skintones and unusual skin colors as well but at the moment im working of prefecting this, the more pigment you put in resin the more difficult it becomes to work with (especially when molding large parts).

      Im working on it,..i promise :grin:

      Im already makign plans for next Otakon, ill be there unless something crazy happens :oops:

      hehe thanks,.i cant imagine that i wont eventually do a Crow faceup and costume, if for nothing more just the fun of it :grin:

    14. I just finished reading through this thread and want to say !thank you! for sharing, and of course, beautiful beautiful work ^_^ The photos of the rubber moulds were extremely helpful, but I can't picture how a hollow core mold is made for a head?

      Do you have to slush the resin around? I want to cast a head for a doll I've been working on for a few months but I just can't figure out how to do the hollow head (I used straws inside the body so I can run string through). Do you use a wax core inside the head mold and just melt it out or something?

      I've done some sand casting with aluminum, but never any RTV molding, and I can't find any pictures on the web on how the molds are made.

    21. hope Donn doesn't mind my answering this. :oops: Anyhoo, when you buy a body, that 'underwear' hip piece comes with it. Kinda like the 'sock' feet. Just go to the 'body' page on the 'doll parts' page. All the stuff that comes with it is at the bottom. :3


      edit: I actually have a question for you Donn. not PMing because ehhh, it's not urgent.

      Do you happen to know if your head sculpts fit on hound/bermann bodies?

    25. Thanks everyone, head #3 he is a fun one :wink: im working on 2 more heads ,hopefully all will be up on my site and for sale before December.

      Im beginning to turn an interesting corner in my life,

      The doll gig started out as something interesting to do in my part time but because of the intrest and orders ive gotten since my store opened I have decided that it will become my full time work... as of Oct 1st i am no longer "freelance art guy" but a dollmaker.

      At the moment im soo busy making and selling my own dolls that im not sure i would have the time to take on sutch a task, If i ever did it would be very expensive, the time and materials for pulling molds for an entire doll would be rather high.

      Taking on molding somthing simple like a prop or a head i could probably find time for bur a whole doll (whew) :oops:

      Im sorry i havent been on that mutch, but im soo busy making dolls and working on updates for my site as of lately i just havnet had mutch time to keep up with my posts.

Hi Emerald_Night, right now im mainly workign on getting doll orders shipped out, after my store opened i ended up with more business than i thought i would so i havent had mutch time to work on anything new although i have 1 more head (mabe 2) that will be released mid november. (head 5, what will he be like?) :grin:

      I finally have the skin colors worked out or at least how to cast them (all the way through). Its rather difficult to get just right so I'll probably only do the darker skinned dolls as specials "that will come with extra parts etc", that I'll release every other month or so. Im going to have a couple up by the end of November on my site,...ill be sure to post pics of them when they are complete... Ill deff be making some "honey brown" skinned dolls with head 3,

      Hes just under 32" but ill get an exact cm measurement for you.

      In a couple of weeks ill also have most of the clothes restocked and some new stuff up as well, all the clothes sold out on the first day and my designer has been swamped doing custom outfits for orders so its taken longer to get stuff restocked than we thought it would..... so I'm still alive here,..just crazy kinda busy :oops:

      "dangles shiny pocket watch in front of you" you must have a bishonenhouse doll,..you must have a bishonenhouse doll,..you must have a bishonenhouse doll hehe ;)

      I use natural lighting for all my photos, its been too cold and windy to do setups outside so that pic was actually taken inside my greenhouse. The shadecloth actually diffuses the light nicely so from now on ill probably take my photos in the greenhouse :-)

      I do intend on doing more varied dolls/photo setups, the gothic/rocker dolls are my personal faves but i think its a good excercise to make diffrent types of setups and costumes that i normally wouldnt make for myself :) besides after i make soooo many of one type of doll its nice to try something different ;)

      I'll be sure to send out notification when the sculpt is nearing completion, so for the time being you dont need to worry about a deposit, eventually I want to do diffrent eye and facial expressions for some of the more popular heads so ill most likely do a sleepy/Slit eyed versons of head 4 and 3 and possibly the uncompleted head 5 and the elf head.

      If all works out, I'll be there next year. :)

      and tell your boyfriend not to worry my dolls are quite harmless. (unless they catch you alone or sleeping),..lol

      I hope i got everyones questions, Im still working on getting a good dark skintone color and im really close to having something to show.

    55. Sorry for the absence EmeraldNight and Everone else.

      Good news and Bad news

      First the Bad, Im not going to have the dark skinned dolls up and for sale untill after the new year, and those new headsculps will have to wait till late Jan :-(

      The Good news, The reason none of the above is ready is because ive been swamped with doll sales, The "waiting list" is booked up untill the end of January! Im overwhelmed and verry happy at the same time. :-)

      Im still working on new stuff though its just taking a little more time to release.

      Im leaving for home on the 21st and im taking my sculpting supplies with me, so maybe at least one of those heads will make it to light a little sooner ;-)

      Heres pic of a doll i just finished and sent out last week, "I was sad to see him go"
