I found them on dolk and dolls #, which is a korean site. Can anyone figure out how to order off the korean site? The price is much much cheaper on it. u_u Almost by 1/2....but I can't figure out how to enter a US address.
They are sold through dollsshop.co.kr (or from ndollsshop.com, choose the Korean Flag at the bottom of the navigation menu,) though the cocoa color happens to be out of stock today. They offer full sets, with faceup, or the blank doll. I am not sure whether they can accommodate a full set with cocoa doll. At the time I ordered, they were not making cocoa colored hands either.
Hello guys! I was wondering if there was any way to tell if the Felix Doll is legit or not? There is one I have found second hand and was wondering how much they sell for?
I haven't seen them get bootlegged, maybe because they are so cheap to begin with. Second hand I would say around $100 if in very good condition?
Thank you! She is very delicate and playful at the same time. I really like the design of the Brownies. Unfortunately, mine came without the piece, that holds her eyes in place in the back of a faceplate.
Does anyone know who's making Brownies at the moment? I think that ndoll had the rights to them after Mudoll, but I see that their website seems to have disappeared Their English shop has been closed for quite a few months, and I was really looking forward to it opening again. I see that Dolk Station has them listed, but they have them so "sold out". I've emailed them, so I'm looking forward to hearing back from them. It's sad that Brownies seem to have lost their popularity. It seems that back when BJDs first started becoming popular they were some of the more common dolls.
Dolls# still do them but looks like their English shop is closed. I used a shopping service to buy a body recently. But the doll before that I bought from Dolls# by email Dollsshop.co.kr is the site
Coming back to resurrect this thread again. Has anyone had any success hybriding their brownie with a Pukipuki or Realpuki body? I finally got a chance to play with a Puki, and the posing is just killer. I have been neglecting my Brownie, because she's just so finicky. I didn't know tinies could be so smooth. It looks to me like you could just take off the neck connector piece and attach the puki's S-hook to it, but I'm terrified to take the thing off to experiment. I'm afraid I'll never get it back on. Also thought about potentially modding puki hands to fit on the brownie hand stubs. Maybe a little carving out? That one is easier to experiment with; puki hands are pretty cheap. Here's an offering with all my questions and food for thought -- Sprinklebug hanging out in the kitchen (no doubt waiting to knock something off that shelf).
These poor guys and gals just get no love. Let’s try to get folks chatting again Here’s my little brownie enjoying the garden https://flic.kr/p/29b3Mba
vertefae, she's adorable! It's sad that we don't see these little ones around much when they used to be so popular. I'm still looking for one, so I'm afraid I don't have any pictures to share.
@Keri thank you! They used to pop up a lot more often than they do now. It would be awesome if one of the companies started production back up. I love their aesthetic and posability
@pinkandyellow @VampireAngel13 did. From what I can tell, she simply strung the Brownie mechanism onto the PukiPuki body. It's a great fit. Works just as well, if not better than a PukiPuki. And on that note, meet Cyanide. He's a Jiny. Alien rockstar from the ???th Century. Not one of his finer shoots.
Thank you, @Loptr ! Your kiddo is adorable. I'm definitely going to put this body swap on my to-do list.
Olly is adorable! I love all his toys! Where did you get his cute outfit? I'm finding it difficult to find clothes for my small comfort baby.
wiccy, you do a great job! Talking about clothes, where do you all get clothes for your small comfort brownies?
Wow no one has talked about these dolls in so long! I only have my Ha Ha and she is just lonely, will have to take a picture of her tomorrow. Don't want my puppy thinking she is a snack.
I've got a Nene incoming secondhand who's gonna be a little friend for my Puki, it's very exciting to have another teeny tiny coming to the house! I've gotta wait until she gets here, but I'm thinking about naming her Jellybean (my Puki is Milkshake, so another cute food name seemed fitting!) I loved seeing photos of these little ones back in the day, I wish they were still in production! It'll be so much fun to have one in the house. I'll be sure to share pics when she arrives!
Congrats on your new girl! I have a tiny brownie that loves me. We are still deciding on names. I think Jellybean would be a perfect name for her.
Jellybean arrived safely today! She actually beat me home by several hours, I was driving back from out of town She's so cute! I admit I'm very impressed with her tiny double joints, I knew to expect them but holy MOLY is she flexible. That'll take some getting used to! I can't get bbcode for the picture I took to work on my phone, I'll just have to come back tomorrow and share then!
Here she is together with my Puki Rose, they've become fast friends! I couldn't find any of my teeny-tiny clothes, not even Kelly doll clothes for her to wear, but Milkshake's box had a pair of jeans tucked in it that fit perfectly. I guess I'll have to make her some outfits! Considering she's a Felix, she's pretty old, but she's in great condition! I'm so happy. I gotta say though, she is SO flexible! Those tiny double-joints are absolutely bonkers, I knew to expect them but I'm still so impressed! Definitely going to take some getting used to at that size, though Jellybean and Milkshake by Jules B, on Flickr
I made her a little dress from some ruffle trim from the fabric store (so easy, and so quick!) and gave her glue staining damage a gentle scrub with Windsor & Newton brush cleaner. I'm very happy with the results! Not a miracle fix, but it's so much better than it was when she arrived. Here's a comparison (sorry for the different lighting, different times of day): Jellybean glue stains before & after W&N BC scrub by Jules B, on Flickr
So glad Jellybean has some new clothes to wear after her "spa" treatment. You can always find some Kelly clothes at goodwill or yardsales. Plus there are also plenty of free patterns on line for outfits.
Oh absolutely! I had some fantastic yard sale finds for Milkshake back in the day, and I'm hoping I'll find wherever it was I stashed her clothes so that we can have a teeny-tiny fashion show with both of them I made her a pair of shorts out of a scrap of jersey from a 70cm sewing project, this is her lounging on a cup at the kitchen table while I worked. So much personality in this tiny package! 20220220_213916 by Jules B, on Flickr
Mamo, in recent years I've had luck finding Kelly clothing on eBay, you might see what's available there. I thought I'd post a pic that shows my Yoyo Ravi girl along with a few others her size that were available back then: A pants lineup by clochette62, on Flickr Here's the post on the Tinys Size Comparison thread that I did between Brownie, RubyRed Honee-B, and PukiPuki. There are other comparison pictures on that page with other dolls, and also one with a Brownie at the top of page 5 of that thread. /posts/7572185/
@clochette what a cute little group (to be expected of Troop Tiny)! I went ahead and bought a few outfits on ebay, I was surprised at the selection! Definitely got a kick out of seeing things for sale that I know I have somewhere, or at least had back in the day, lol. A childhood relived through ebay auctions, haha!
@Mamo , thank you! I truly miss that era of Kelly dolls and clothing, there really hasn't been anything like them since...nicely done outfits (including shoes!) widely available in that scale that were not too expensive. I wish Mattel would reissue that size. I'm really surprised that the Felix dolls weren't more popular, they're such great dolls, and seemed to come along right when that size was beginning to catch on with the release of FL's PukiPuki. Considering the range of faces and how well they pose, it's a shame they aren't still being produced.
Unfortunately Matel clothes have gone douwn in quality. Half the time they paint the bodice on and just have a skirt! It is sad that Felix dolls aren't available anymore!
So today I was passed a whole skein of scarfmaking lace, the crochet kind, and I made a little outfit for Jellybean that I'm calling "the nightlife loofah party dress," lol. It turned out extremely poofy, I love it, it reminds me of fancy baby photography and giant bridal dresses. I don't have much in the way of fancy decor, but I did find a few of my old Kelly doll outfits! So I set up a fun little photoshoot for her just for poops n chuckles, so to speak... Girls Night Out with the Nightlife Loofah Party Dress by Jules B, on Flickr I'm having so much fun with her! Tinies are always better in multiple (careful Mamo or you'll make that triplicate, or quadruplicate, or... stay tuned for my new children's book entitled "If You Give A Jules A Brownie"), and I love how quickly these little projects come together. Thank you all for letting me gush!
Apololgies for the pic spam, but I went to Michael's today for a doll-unrelated thing and they had all their spring decor out in the seasonal section, including a TON of macrame wall hangings and plant holders because as I understand it that's very in right now? But they had these little mini plant holders for little plastic succulents and I thought, those are absolutely hanging chairs. Especially with one of those "floating" style doll stands for a larger doll, maybe a 1/6th or 1/4th? It was kinda fiddly fitting the girls inside, since they taper more over the center rather than at the back, but I thought what a fun way to spruce up a doll room or have them out and about! Wigs were definitely out of the question with my crew, it's all floof or nothing with these two, but who needs hair to be adorable? These were $3.99 apiece, not a bad addition! I made a tiny cushion to pad out the bottom to see if that helped any with the functionality, hoping to get some extra width and depth with something a little wider than a doll bottom, but it didn't do anything but make them sit so high they teetered right out! I've got them hanging out (literally!) on my bulletin board, now the test will be whether or not the cats leave the yarn tails alone Mini plant hanger chairs by Jules B, on Flickr
It's been almost a year but I'd love to see other pics of peoples brownies I just got a small comfort and I'm kind of amazed at the quality? The magnetic head and eyes are incredibly and something about the resin and the joints are very round and satisfying!
Okay rather sudden but I impulsively got a brownie second hand off mercari Japan I THINK it's a Pepe? There's a custom faceup and it's kinda dark so hard to see but I hope it is! Either way they are all cute so excited!
I'm back with a little friend to introduce! She's actually a hybrid, the brownie I got second hand wasn't a Pepe and to be honest I had no idea what mold she was! I ended up liking the lulu head I had better (originally on a small comfort body) and swapped them out. I gave her a faceup and made her a new wig, and swapped out her glass eyes for urethane ones which I think really capture the light well and make her look more lively I don't have a name for her yet though! It's always so hard to name dolls, haha! Im hoping to get other brownies such as the Yo-yo and Haha heads because I think they'd be cute as additional expressions for her for some reason I can't get the image to insert correctly so here is the imgur link: imgur.com
