MuDoll (FelixDoll) Brownies discussion Part 3

I haven't been in this thread in forever, but I wanted to share my poor Jini who hasn't had much love in the last couple years (too be fair none of my Puki-sized tinies have, but I'm working on that).
Last night I got a Puki body in the mail I wanted to put a different doll's head on, inspired by making that hybrid work, I pulled my Brownie apart, unstrung a Puki *ded* and put the Brownie neck part on the Puki body. Success!! lol my desk is a mess...



I have to admit, I miss the cute of the Brownie body...it's so adorable....but being able to stand without his feet glued together is more than worth it.
He has a complete range of head movement, better than a full Puki lol and so far as I can tell, can balance like they can. The resin is spot on too! Though that's more luck than anything...I have four NS Pukis and none of them match. Some their FPs don't even match their bodies >.<

I love it...I wish I'd done this a year ago. Now I just have to get another Puki body to replace the one Chibi Wyn stole XD
He needs his tail back too. And a new faceup. And a hairs cuts. Possibly a whole wig overhaul....two wigcaps and it's still too big....

My Brownie is a hybrid, the head is from DD-Anne. I love the body, it's so adorable and it poses so well I especially love the hands becaus they are so dainty

I wanted to show off the new dress I made for her since it has been a while (2 or 3 years D: ) and I think this is the best dress I've ever made ^^

Hello -- I am new on this thread and had no idea it existed -- I got a Brownie a while back and hope to have a photo day with her (Nene) as the weather around here improves for outside sessions. I am bookmarking this thread.

Hasel -- your doll is just so adorable -- I love her sweet and darling face (DD-Anne) and that outfit is fit for a queen!

Hey guys, Sprink has always had her default eyes, but I was thinking about getting her some glass ones. What size do Brownies take?

 

My similar size Puki Puki Ante and Lati White Belle hybrid are using 8mm eyes. Haha is using glass eyes, but I don't know the size as they were already there when I adopt her from her previous owner. I think 8mm shouldn't be a problem.

 

Hi ladies, would love to purchase my very first Brownie baby but I need an information.

Will I get the same doll on the pics, with the very same eye colour and the same makeup? Or maybe I could get a doll with brown eyes and different makeup?

As of right now, I believe it only comes exactly as you see it. I am writing them and asking about a basic brownie, haven't heard back yet. I don't want a full set myself. Hope that helps, even if this is a little late.

OMG remus.grrrl, the cuteness is overwhelming. I'm gonna order some 6mm and some 8mm and see which fit better. Just got some birthday money, so hopefully I'll be able to grab some up soon. Also, my sister got me a whole bunch of different colored wigs for Sprink for my birthday! I can't wait til they get here -- I'll have to post a Sprink wig fashion show! lol

I recently started working on Mimir's room again, Brownie's are the perfect size for dollhouse stuff so a (loooong) while ago I bought some stuff and now I finally got around to making them the same color it's still a WIP but I got so exited I wanted to share

Oh, Mimir! It's been such a long time since I saw the little darling around here, not to mention your own good self, Hasel! I absolutely loooove the dresses and all the tiny fixtures you're working on Gorgeous stuff! You're so talented!

 

No, but my goodness, I love your dollhouse stuff! Well, the bookshelves on the sides are dollhouse miniatures, but the part she's sitting on is just a random piece of decor. I would love to make Sprink a house thing, but it probably wouldn't have a lot of dollhouse miniatures, because her living space tends to be more Borrower-esque. She's in-scale with her character.

Aww thanks Mitya, I think I'm just a little bit talented and a whole lots of crazy XD And I'm sure I'll be in her a little bit more often I graduated last summer and now I'm a full time artist XD So I got more spare time to spend on my dolls! (that and I can justify it by saying I'm practising since my artwork is about dolls to)

Pink and Yellow, oooh that's great! Mimir is in scale to, she's a lepricon (kabouter) but she's totally spoiled as she's a princess and heir to the throne 8D So she demands in-scale furniture! On top of that she has an expensive taste (my bf said her house was prettyer then ours! D: )

Seeing as how no one got back to you, I thought I would try. It could be a Nene with mouth painted to look up tilted a bit, or the one that Mudoll sells as the Shepard girl (sculpt unknown, but mouth looks the same)

Thank you so much for your help! I had a lot more trouble tracking these down than I thought I would. I guess there aren't any Shepherd girls left, but I might still try and get a Nene! If I'm not misunderstanding this Japanese site, it looks like the Shepherd Girl head is a Nene head anyway? n__n;

 

Does anyone know if the Brownie heads fit on Pukipuki bodies? I bought a head and now need a body but have no idea how to find a Brownie body as I was told the dolls are no longer made. Can i use a Pukipuki body instead?

I can't recall where I have seen it but I remember seeing pictures of a brownie-puki head and body swap. Also I've seen irl that their headsize and body size is almost the same.

The dolls are still made but they are sold through Mudoll as fullsets only :s so that's probably not much help.

I was wondering, how does the inside of the neckhole look? becaus I remember taking off a neck-connector part of my brownie body when I put a DD-Anne head on it. So you might need it (if you do and I still have it I can ship it to you if you wish I don't have any need for it)

 

Oh thats so kind of you! The head is actually on its way to me so i don't technically have it just yet. It said it was missing a head-plate but looked like the back of the head was there so maybe they were talking of this part you are referring to.

I guess i am not sure yet if I will need it but will happily purchase the part from you if I do. Its awfully kind of you to offer!

Im also really pleased the dolls are still being made! They are just so cute! I hope to get others in the future.

I just got the head today and I do think I might need that neck piece you mentioned. Its a very large somewhat key hole shaped opening at the base of the head. I really appreciate the offer because I just love the face and would be sad not to be able to use it! I will PM you if you are still willing to part with the piece!

I've heard that 'smallcomfort' baby dolls are not being produced by Mudoll at the moment. I did a search on Google and some ebay listings came out.

How can you tell if it's genuine?

 

A few days ago I ordered a Small Comfort off of eBay from a different seller. I got one with two faceplates--awake and sleeping. I am very excited about getting one, as I know they haven't been available for at least a couple of years. They have the Felix metal headplate, so I assume they are genuine. The eBay seller I purchased mine from has been great to work with. Mine should be here around the first week of August. I can't wait! I will be sure to post some pics when mine arrives.

Which faceplate did you order? I quite like HaHa's smiling face and laughing eyes

 

I got Nene and the sleeping human, which is really Nene asleep. I had a hard time deciding, as they are all cute in their own way. This is my first Felix doll, too. I am thinking about getting a Brownie next as my baby's older sister. I think they will be cute together. HaHa is a cutie, too! I love that you can pick which faceplate you want. That is really cool! I don't think you could do that in the past as easily. I think you had to order the body and head separately in order to do so. I just got an e-mail this morning that my baby has shipped, so I could have her as early as next week some time, but I am still counting on the first week of August. If she comes sooner, which, of course, I hope she does, wonderful! I hope you get to order your Small Comfort soon, if you decide to. I know I am going to be shocked at their size because they are a little smaller than a Lati White, and that's small! I know they are chubbier, though, which I love! I hope I have some tiny clothes to fit her. If not, I will make her some.

 

The small comforts found on ebay do not have the metal plate in the back. The picture up on the site is from Felix I believe. I was told by someone who messaged the seller that a company bought the rights to reproduce them. I do have two of them, and I did have an original small comfort. They are exactly the same, even the unusual eye holders are the same.

 

The seller I bought mine from doesn't actually show a pic with the metal plate on the back of the head, but there is a side pic that you can see the indention where it should be. I had looked at several different sellers' listings, and most of the others do show the metal plate. But, like you said, they are probably using Felix's pics. It really doesn't matter to me one way or another. All I know is Felix went out of business, so someone else has taken over. They probably cannot put the Felix name on these new dolls since they filed bankruptcy. That makes sense to me. Here is something interesting stated at the bottom of the auction:

- 2013 officially opened by hand.
- Products Made on September 2013 to present are officially sold at the same quality.

I guess they are saying that these dolls are made with the same quality as the original Felix Small Comforts. Whatever it means is fine with me. Regardless, I am very excited about my new little one arriving soon!

 

First week of August, thats pretty soon! I'm waiting for the end of the month, to make a decision. Of course, then Fairyland chose to have a promotional event:P It's pretty tempting since I want a Pukifee Ante anyway and I can get an extra faceplate for it, or I can get the Small Comfort doll which is something I really like and it's easier to afford now. I'm getting married in two month's time >.< How long is the shipping time on yours? Does a Lati White or Pukipuki wig fit Small Comforts? It's kinda weird to think about putting a wig on it, but I was one of those hairy babies who had a full head of curls when I was born And then it straightened out when I got older, no fair!

 

Actually, I just found out that she is supposed to be here on Monday via FedEx!!! Yay!!! I am ecstatic! I just purchased mine this past Monday (July 21), so that was really, really fast! If you do decide to order one and you want her/him very quickly, be sure to get the FedEx expedited shipping. I do plan on putting a wig on my baby, too. I don't know if I have one that will look good or even fit good. If not, I will order her one. I will let you know, though. I don't blame you for wanting an Ante, too. I have a PukiPuki Ante. She is my fav Puki. It would be a hard decision. I guess get whichever one tugs at your heart the most. Congrats on your upcoming marriage! That's wonderful! I wish your husband and you all the best! I will post some pics of my new baby as soon as she arrives!

 

Does anyone know if puki hands could be modified to fit brownies?

I want my Haha to be able to hold stuff but none of the Brownie dealers seem to be selling hand sets

 

My Felix Small Comfort babies arrived today. Yes, I said "babies". I opened up the shipping box and saw that there were two doll boxes inside, and I figured that maybe they went ahead and put my extra sleeping faceplate in a doll box by itself for safe shipping. When I opened the boxes, I was pleasantly surprised to find two complete babies! These little babies are amazing! They are so tiny, but so well-made! They pose wonderfully, too! I am just so impressed with these little ones! I love them! I was also surprised to find that they do indeed have the metal Felix plates on the back of their heads. So, they are official Felix dolls--no doubt! I highly recommend the seller (storewithstory) that I purchased mine from on eBay. I purchased mine on Monday, July 21, and they actually arrived at FedEx where I live on Saturday, but since there was no Saturday delivery, I got them today and very early at that. I can't wait to do their face-ups and get them all dressed! I will be sure to post some more pics as soon as I do.

Thank you, desertmountainbear! That is interesting about the Felix plates, but I don't think it really matters one way or another. Had mine come without them, I certainly would not have minded. It may have something to do with the factory they come from or the seller. Regardless, they are sweet either way! I haven't gotten to work on mine yet, as I had another doll--a gift for my MIL--that I had to finish up. I hope to work on them later today or maybe tomorrow. Of course, it's supposed to rain here--ugh!!!--so that may put a damper on my work. Anyway, I am anxious to get their face-ups done!

Anyways, Dolk Station (linked) carries all the Brownies now. You can get a set (Momo head) or single dolls.

Dolk don't seem to be doing the summer gift head event though unfortunately, which is a shame. I think you have to go direct to Dollsshop.co.kr or another dealer to get it.
