I’m listening to the whole ninth hour musical while I study (it’s 48 minutes, so I’ve cycled through it like 3x). Bless the creators for uploading it for public consumption.

In particular though, this song is obliterating me. Both people singing are incredible vocalists, and any time they sing together, it’s so striking.

I’ve been listening to Florence + The Machines new album with the most recent song being “Choreomania”!

 

If we're only counting real listening, then MCR's new song The Foundations of Decay (it's been 8 years guys omg new MCR). If the incessant background music that plays in my head counts, it's the song Faith from Made in Abyss. Various bits of that soundtrack keep getting stuck in there since it's the last show I watched and it's got beautiful music.

 

Hah, again MCR like the previous commenter. I've listened to It's Not a Fashion Statement, It's a Deathwish. Someone said that that's their favourite song and I have been trying to bond with their less mainstream stuff. It's good! They're good! It's just that my top 10 has stayed the same since 2013.

 

Recently I discovered a singer named Tamino. I was surprised I liked the song called You Don't Own Me. I clicked on it because the thumbnail w as interesting. This link isn't the exact version I listened to, but this thumbnail got me to click because it looked so gloomy.


Another singer discovered at the same time is Sion Jung. I listened to his Comedy song. I really enjoyed his song. It seems he was on a show called The Voice of Germany.

I really like electro-swing music and I was already a fan of this group, but I'm really bad at keeping up with new releases. They released this one 7 years ago already and I only found it this year somehow.

There's also a shorter version with a really well-made animated MV, but I prefer the extended version's music more. Side note, if you do go looking for the animated video version, be aware that the MV includes violent and suggestive visuals. It may be animated, but better warned than not at all.

I just realized I read the title wrong. I thought the thread was asking me to list all the songs I listened to not the most recent. Well these are the ones i listened to today, so it's the most recent for me.

I'm sorry I feel like i am spamming. I've been listening to more music these days. I really like fall to winter songs in korean music scene over summer or spring music. Also I seemed down these days, so I haven't really listened to music for awhile this actively. I am just discovering or rediscovering great songs I wanted to share.

 

I have a very eclectic playlist, but some of the songs I've listened to on repeat lately have been:

1) Intro/outro music for the anime "Natsume Yuujinchou" (I especially love the gentle, meditative outro for the first season)

2) The Curse by Agnes Obel (gorgeous harmonies, unusual melody)

3) Ancora Qui by Ennio Morricone (from "Django Unchained" - a beautiful, melancholic piece of music - he is one of my top favorite composers)

4) White Flag by Dido (fun rhythm, softer sound than many pop songs)

5) The Sun Whose Rays are all Ablaze - from "The Mikado" (delightfully quirky melody and clever lyrics)

6) Last Man Standing by Hammerfall (powerhouse for working out, also associated with a character I enjoy)

7) Recapitulation - by John Morris from "The Elephant Man" movie (the only purely instrumental piece on this list - a haunting piece of music).

I both love and hate discovering a new song - what normally happens is that I get utterly obsessed and listen to it on repeat until I can sing it myself and/or wake up with it running through my head in more or less complete form. One of my brothers is a huge music fan - he listens to music whenever he can and he's always asking me why I don't listen to it more often. But the fact is, if I fall in love with a song it dominates my mind for a while, and I can't always spare the mental energy!
