Right now I'm so obsessed with this song and girls, I've been listening to it non stop! major crush on these beautiful women too
Awesome tunes, everyone! Please keep 'em coming! Most recent song stuck in my head is "Always On My Mind" by Pet Shop Boys (1987): En Vogue is a fantastic group---I grew up listening to them. (And yes, it's hard not to crush on those gorgeous beauties!)
"Three Strange Days" by School of Fish. And I now need to check out some of these songs you all have listed!
Rudy - Transformation [OUT NOW] Something about this track speaks to me. I'm not one to replay songs over and over usually, but I keep coming back to this one. Probably isn't to anyone's taste here.
You've Got Time - it's the theme to Orange is the New Black. I'm not even watching the show, my roommate is.
Right now I'm all Superfly, all the time. Right this second I'm listening to "Bi-Li-Li Emotion" (can't link the video since I'm at work, but it's fab!)
Aaaaah listening to this wonderful track makes me feel so nostalgic that song always came up in the most tender moments of Berserk, I love it!! I don't really like the new Berserk anime because of the art style, I wish they had kept the old style that fit the story very well. (this is my favorite anime of all time, that's why I got so excited =D )
Currently obsessing over the amazing cover of "Gods & Monsters" from American Horror Story: Freak Show. Long live Jessica Lange---what a class act!
REST IN PEACE JUAN GABRIEL! HE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED For my non-hispanic people, he was a true icon of latin america and a LGBT+ supporter. He wrote and composed all his songs and overcame the hardships and negative impact most gay people receive in those places where homosexuality is not widely accepted yet. It's hard to choose a favorite song but here's one of them:
I was looking for the Misty Mountains song and found this ... 20 minutes of pure dwarven awesomeness. Good thing I was already planning a BJDwarf at some point ... hobbits first, though.
...the last song I listened too.... if I have to be honest... In case you were concerned for Britney's health, this is a "cover" of the song.
Falling by Florence + the Machine. I'm surprised it took me this long to get into F+tM because they're right up my alley, but somehow I missed them until now.
Guns and Ships from the Hamilton soundtrack. One of my friends is gradually dragging me into Hamilton Hell. I don't really care though?
I love music threads-- excuse me while I bookmark everything and find awesome stuff to listen to. Ah, it's so good to have new music from them, isn't it? Hard to believe they're closing in on their 20th anniversary already, makes me feel old, lol. I've been spending the morning with Peggy Lee today:
Bowie again though I've got to admit, most recent usually means an album. In this case :- the Cracked Actor limited edition live album LP (three discs over five sides). Absolutely love it; it's the perfect accompaniment to David Live, a live album from earlier in the Diamond Dog tour's run where Bowie is at the height of his famed cold, swaggering chilly preciseness. By the point in the tour that Cracked Actor came along Bowie's loosened up incredibly, it's a completely different performance helped by the fact that midway through the tour he swapped bands completely...
...I think I may be on my bimonthly 'listen to no one but Bowie' phase - so apologies. Currently obsessed with Outside, hence this choice (but please don't judge this song based on this live recording - the sound quality is appalling, but the video is quietly awesome - note the jumpsuit is the same one he's had since the 70s and wore on the Lazarus music video)
The Outside Tour was the one I finally got to see him live. I broke my "no stadiums" show rule only for Bowie. NIN opened for him(but they were off that night). Not the song I juuuust listened to, but I have had this one on repeat the last few days, Thomas Cohen, "Honeymoon" He's got a croon that's somewhere in the Bret Anderson (Suede), Rufus Wainwright, Bowie range. Maybe a touch of very young Nick Cave. IDK I like the whole album.
Oh wow, I'm incredibly jealous of anyone who got to see that particular tour live. (I hope he was as in form as it looks like he was from all of the videos floating around out there - were the NIN contingent of the audience disappointed considering how young that band's audience was at the time?) And on topic, most recent listen was this: Still on an Outside kick, and still mildly reeling at those crystal clear shots of Bowie in character as Baby Grace, Ramona, Touchsriek et Al!
On a bit of a Lazarus kick this time, likely influenced by the 3rd round of the Triathlon (and what I was attempting (and failing) to recreate in that shot)
One of the least antisocial Bowie tracks I've put up on here, but ironically a performance that highlights that Heroes is anything but the brainless patriotic ballad Danny Boyle somehow managed to shoehorn it into becoming... (Still can't forgive that man for that, there were Bowie tracks that were appropriate for that (mis)use, Heroes was most certainly not it) Still... To give you some idea about how Bowie himself felt about this misuse, here's the arrangement of the song that he wanted for the musical Lazarus:
