Mori9 Dolls

I asked for my Octans Head to ship with the body (I really shouldn't have maybe I could have gotten a faceup done in the meantime) so I'm sure it's ready but just waiting for the body.

Looking at her socials I haven't yet seen any notice for the bodies. If it's similar to my Moons production time it'll probably be around 9-10 months. So I'll just have to be patient.

 

Wow your last body took 9-10 months?! I'm not familiar with Moons but I wouldn't put it past Naiko to take longer being a smaller production house, possibly a small barebone team or just the artist themselves.

If anything, perhaps you can DM Naiko directly to ask about the shipments for bodies and if they've started for overseas/non-Asia customers?

 

Yeah, Moon is their large 68cm Centaur so it was completely understandable to me. Additionally I do believe Naiko was making each individually on her own.

Hilariously on discussing this I actually just got notice that Octans and his body are ready to ship out! I ordered him back in August so about 7 months it took.

In terms of eye size, I think 14/4 or 14/5mms fit Caroli and Octans pretty well! Both of my heads are out for faceups right now, but I have some photos up on my Insta story highlights with my Caroli right when I got him!

 

I'm in the exact same boat! I had my Chara here but I had instantly sent him out for a faceup before I measured eye size or anything You have a beautiful collection by the way!

For Chara I agree I definitely think 14/5 he seems like the kind of handsome sculpt that would do better with a small iris set. I want to give Octans a bit more of a younger appearance. I feel like maybe 14/6?

This is the original model of Octans from Mori's account. It's that I'm trying very hard to find a set of eyes similar. They're just so gorgeous!!!

So far I'm thinking I'll try jiaoba98 and SecretArtStudio eyes. They both have excellent selections available. I've ordered from jiaoba98 prior and the eyes are beautiful.

This is the tan skin tone, it's lighter than the average tan. Similar to LLTs tan than it is to Sooms Tawny.

Would anyone US-based be able to tell me what courier is tied to Vevedolls tracking? I have no updates since 2/18 and am getting worried :/

 

I had the exact same experience. The courier used is PFCExpress during its transit in China. And once it reached the US it was UPS for me.

I had 0 updates while it was traveling via PFCExpress. I do not think it has true tracking. Once it finally got past customs and reached a US courier I finally got updates and the package arrived in about a week. Mine shipped out around 2/18 as well and only arrived about 2 days ago.

 

Yes. Same here. No updates for weeks, then movement.

I keep going back and forth on how I want to customize my Octans. My original idea fell through and now I keep going back and forth between a few ideas or just giving up.

I would love to make my au ra from the game ff14 but not sure how to go about making the horns and facial scales in a way with out having them permanently attached/modded

 

Hey there! Are you thinking of doing this all yourself or are you open to commissioning an artist to do mods? I'm still nervous doing a lot of things to my dolls myself, but I'm slowly opening up to trying at least faceups... I feel like you would need the space, more tools, and a proper indoor ventilation setup to do mods though...

Maybe you can try sculpting with clay first and see if you can 3D print it with a light material that's easier to attach?

 

Epoxy sculpt or milliput. Since I have used milliput before. Its not really all that crazy to use (just annoying). I am not to concerned if its heavy. Though I would take steps to try and make them lighter.

I don't trust 3D printing at all because its always impossibly fragile even with more sturdy resin and I hate print lines with a passion, and sanding something that small doesn't sound optimal. This is speaking from experience with mini painting -sobbing-

 

I just got my Octans and Caroli heads back from my favorite US-based faceup artist, and they are beyond my expectations!

I'm waiting on a Soom72 body for Lix (Caroli) as the DFH body I have for my Mori9s do resin match quite well, but the proportions are too large for the character -- Originally I was going to have my Octans share a body with my Caroli, but probably going to have my Luke share with Octans now and my Caroli on a smaller, shorter body.

 

Omitidentity - they are beyond gorgeous!!

 

I'd thought I'd share the DZ 75cm slim body paired with my Chara head. The resin match is perfect, both are in "Soom Cream." The proportions look great imo and the gamble in buying this body def worked out. Will post more photos later when I have time :3

 

Oh this combo looks so good! Do you think they will have a color option to match soom normal? I am still trying to figure out a body for my Octans head that isnt the actual soom body.

 

Who did their faceups? They're gorgeous and I'm having trouble finding someone who can work with their sculpting.

 

From what another user told me, "Dollzone's Mia pink is a normal pink iirc, if there isn't another normal listed, then their normal is the closest option they sell" for the soom normal. I was asking all these questions when I was thinking about hybriding too haha.

 

I got both of my Mori heads done by Komorebi.dolls from IG! She's suuuper sweeet and very meticulous at her craft - She is definitely pricy, but four of my heads were done by her (Sooms included) and she does not disappoint! I feel like photos don't even do her faceups justice, they are beyond gorgeous IRL!

 

Anyone able to find great wigs for Mori9's heads? I got 75cm doll sized wigs but they're too big

 

Finally got a body for my octans. It feels nice to be able to enjoy the head now. Got a DFH body. And the color match is really good. The difference is so slight but a face up pretty much hides that. But out of all my 75cm dolls, DFH is the heaviest and the tallest.

I feel similar about Luke. I think there might be a drop this year though. I can't remember where I saw a question asked about that...

 

been checking for doma on the market place and on xianyu. but its always the wrong color. I am really also not a 'face plate' person. so that was why i didn't go with buying doma at the time.

 

How often does Mori9 rerelease older heads? Will Caroli be rereleased? I missed it the last few times ☹️ Sorry if this has been asked.

 

They do not re-release unfortunately ): Best luck is to find a head secondhand.

 

There is a new head coming sometime though.
