Yeah, he is a christmas present from my parents, I found hi, they paid for him. I did get to open and check his condition breifly. He looks great on Naiko promtheus body and colour mathc is perfect so who know if the head that came with that will get it back.

My Hayato arrived a few days ago and out of curiosity, I did a quick resin comparison and it seems like resin is a lot yellower compared to Austaras. I was pleasantly surprised to see it matches my ATStudio body perfectly as I was considering selling the heads anyways!!

 

Yeah, from the pictures I’ve seen of Hayato he looks much yellower than Austaras and Veles. How lucky that he matches a body you had, though! I’d love to see pics when you have a chance!

Head it just a tad bit lighter but I'm sure once painted, the difference will be hardly visible. It's a very good fit proportionally too.

 

Oh he looks fantastic on that body! How lucky. . I agree that with a faceup, that tiny color mismatch will be totally unnoticeable.

 

Right? I was dreading having to hunt for another Soom body. And if I'm not mistaken, ATStudio just opened pre-orders for their bodies. I don't know how consistent their resin color is though.

Color doesn't match, if that's what you're asking. Hayato is yellower than Soom NS. Proportion wise, I'm sure it would look good.

@Yuan7449 I believe Hayato was casted by Dollshe so he would in theory match Dollshe resin. It's definitely a bit darker than previously which was supposed to match Soom. Although ATS is supposedly a match for Soom too so it still might work for ID75 bodies. I am going to try to put my boy on a The Voice body since he is a fighter. Austaras was a bit lighter so he might actually work out pretty well on that body. He's off at faceup now and his body id on the way home to me from my agent. I was too lazy to do a resin comparison before I sent him off with the body I have now.

Additionally possible new Mori 9 collab news! 2D doll posted this picture on their weibo. Some were calling him Baihu Pt 3 in the comments lol. He definitely does look like Baihu and the redesign they are doing with Universe Doll.

2D didn't come out and say it was Mori 9 collab but someone on Xianyu is already looking for splits and said it was a Mori 9 head definitely looks like their work. The head is on the new 2D 75cm body.

 

I agree, it definitely looks like her work both the sculpting and faceup! I don't see the slightest resemblance to Baihu, though, except maybe the nose. (Which is a shame because I absolutely adore Baihu but he's simply too big for me One giant man doll is enough lol)

Anybody else eyeing Lyra!? I've adored him since Mori first shared pictures of the 3D model ages ago, but I really should NOT get another boy that size. I can barely handle my Austaras and he's on a short body (Idealian 72) Lyra is so handsome and unique though. When he has dark lips he really looks like an Amano illustration. If I got one I'd want white skin and maybe dye/paint him to a fantasy color (assuming I could find an appropriate body in an interesting color).

I think I'll try for him, but not get my heart too set on it. I have a vague idea what I'd do with him, but not attached yet so hopefully I won't be crushed if I lose

I'm happy for everyone who's into these 75cm dolls but if I Mori made smaller sculpts I'd have a lot less self control and be in more trouble

 

I'm def going to try for Lyra. I love the new video she posted of him today it made up my mind on trying to get him. There have been a ton of Hayato on the second hand market so even we don't get lucky in the lottery I'm sure we will still be able to get him.

70-75cm sizes are my jam but I wouldn't mind a cute 60cm one.

He may end up being a floating head for a while... I don't like most of the 75 bodies out there. I'd love a slender 75 body, but that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon

That's a really good point. I'm just traumatized by my desperate search for Austaras I guess if I miss out on Lyra I could casually keep an eye out for a secondhand one, ehehe... and I feel like white skin is less popular so maybe that will improve my chances. Time to start dreaming up a character for this guy... oh nooo!

Haha I feel that. I've been wanting to get a Veles but the ones I have seen are the price of a whole 75cm doll just for the head lol.

Hayato prices have been reasonable though. So hopefully it trends, I have a few ideas for Lyra so I might see if I can get one in WS and one in NS since if you win the lottery you can order 2.

 

Good luck to everyone who's going to try for Lyra. I'll be sitting this one out. I don't think I can handle another 72+ cm boy in the house. They already multiplied and won't even fit in my doll cabinet so they're chilling in the walk-in closet at the moment

 

That’s a mood I empathize with. I miiiight still try for a Lyra though depending on when his preorder period happens. His features are so sharp

I'm just wondering, I've recently been seeing these Mori9 folls on Instagram, but where do you buy one? I love the sculpts and I can see one of my characters I could shell one with! They look so amazing!
Also do they sell just heads?

 

@RoyalRegals They just sell heads but they do sculpt for doll companies (Universe Doll, DFH and Dollshe) so you can get them with bodies and while I don't recommend Dollshe and DFH's sculpt was limited theres still their designs from Universe doll readily available. But their own heads they make do not come with bodies.

With a lil patience you could probably buy Hayato on the second hand markets here and on IG/Twitter but her other sculpts are pretty rare and pricy. Your best bet to find them is idlefish/xianyu but you need to have a taobao account to access and a shopping agent to buy.

ETA - Theres quite a few Hayato on idlefish right now at regular price and even an Austaras but he's like over $700 for the head alone

 

Wow they can be that expensive just for a head!? I promised I budget myself with just a head way less than that ^ ^')
You are right my best bet is to look on the secondhand market for a Hayato.
Speaking of the other companies I didn't know they also made heads for other companies too! I'm sure I've seen some and never knew.
Well I probably wont be able to get one regardless, thanks for the help! I just wonder what other companies have similar style then I really do love the facial sculpts.

 

imo part of Mori's appeal is that there is no one with a style like Mori's...

I don't think it's fair to say that you "probably won't be able to get one" - apparently the recent heads from Mori are not as scarce as the earlier ones. The less rare they are, the less they'll cost secondhand. And you can always try to order directly and the head is a normal price, with no need to go through a shopping service or anything. So don't give up just yet!

 

I do love how they are unique in all and it's why I'm so drawn to them, but I guess I just tend to look for alternatives naturally just in case.
Though I am keeping an eye out for any sculpts that I think would fit.

 

I'm starting to contemplate what body I might get for Lyra... and I only just realized today that the Luts Grand Senior Delfs are 75cm? Could those bodies be an option? The GSD neck girth is 12.3 cm, compared to Idealian's neck girth of 12.5 cm. I like that there's a less muscular option, and all of Luts' beautiful resin colors! (I accept the fact that I will probably have to airbrush/dye the Lyra head lol )

 

I like bodies from 白零|WHITE the neck is a bit bigger at 13cm though but def not as slim as the GSDF slim body. I don't see many slim 75cm like that, usually its 72cm but their neck size is usually 11-11.5cm so a bit small.

Also found out more news about the 2ddoll x Mori 9 collab. The head is called Ciel! They have a doll event they are selling at in China but will eventually sell online. He will even come in limited colors like tan, chocolate and purple! I really want to see chocolate and purple! But he will be on their buff af body, not sure if they will sell him on a slimmer one.

 

Mori has been posting lots of pics of her new sculpted heads on her Chinese social media account, I wish one day she could print them all out, they are absolutely gorgeous!! And I wish I would have to luck to buy Lyra x

 

I haven't seen Ciel photos yet, but purple sounds amazing. Still working on styling my LuXian, but at least he's got a face now! The more time I spend with him, the more I love him.

 

My wishlist these days is nearly exclusively Mori heads, and between Ciel and the sculpt previews for Asterion/Caroli/Chara posted to IG, my wallet is incredibly afraid right now

I'm trying so hard to be chill about Lyra but I found the perfect wig for him in stock in the USA. Unbelievable. I think I have to buy it even though I don't even know if I'll get to own the doll it's for
Though actually I'm not 100% it will fit Lyra. Are Mori9's heads for Idealian a consistent size? Austaras and Veles wear 9-10" wigs, though the 9-10" wig I had on Austaras was a little loose. The wig I'm considering is 8-9". Too small maybe? What size does Hayato wear?

 

@overlordu Hayato and Austaras head circumferences nearly the same size the same measuring from top to nape and Austaras is slightly bigger forehead to crown. Hayato head overall looks a bit bigger cause he has a longer face and Austaras a wider-shorter head with a more bulbus headcap at the crown but they are basically the same size. I would expect Lyra to be around that size too.

Probably closer to Hayato as he appears to have a longer face as well also Mori changed the headcap design so there is no metal plate on the outside like with Austaras which I think accounts for his slightly larger crown. I find their heads are too small for 8-9 unless the wig has a lot of stretch. 9-10 is a little loose but I don't have problems when I use a wig cap.

Oooh thanks for the infos @RebelViva HmmMMmmmmMmm it's a Luts wig, and they do have some stretch but I wouldn't say a lot of stretch. It's so perfect for my vision though, I think I'll buy it and just cross my fingers that I can bully it onto his fat head.

And omg what? That's so fast for Ciel!!! What color did you get? And do you have plans for how you'll customize him??

 

@overlordu Yes definitely try! I was able to bully my Hayato into a custom made wig for my R.dean S.Rei head and stretched out more after a while now it doesn't fit the R.dean head anymore LOL! Those are 8.5 inch heads.

I know I was shocked! I got Tan for Ciel though, I was hoping it was their Chocolate but it looks like Chocolate skin (along with the purple) was only for promo? You could only get them at a doll event in-person in China lol. Lol idk why they would use chocolate for the promo pics for the online sale though because they posted those pics after the event had already occurred lol. Hoping that their tan isn't too light as he was supposed to be an Egyptian OC of mine, him and his half brother (Tan JR Vadim) are descendants of Ra so he will have a more Egyptian themed face-up but modernized.

 

I'm happy that Mori decided to cut ties with Dollshe. Probably gonna get much more sales and interest in her new sculpts now. I loved Doma, but would never have purchased him from Dollshe for obvious reasons. I had a chat with Mori via email, and many clients had approached her saying that Dollshe was not keeping his production time standards. She did not want to risk people not getting her dolls so she ended the collaboration. She also said Dollshe was constantly pressuring her for new head sculpts to sell and that no other company she collaborated with has ever been in such a rush to get more head sculpts when the previous ones are not even yet in production. She just had an overall bad feeling about it.

She said we can expect Doma and Luke release via another agency. She just has to edit the size and specs because they're designed to fit Dollshe's body currently and don't fit other bodies. I hope that the renewed Doma will fit Soom's ID75! I'm all in for a tall boy.

 

Mori made a smart move and I'm glad she trusted her instincts. Dollshe is business poison at this point. I'm not physically capable of handling more 75cm dolls, but I have no horse in this race. Hopefully the new collab will be easier for Doma and Luke fans to acquire!

 

I'm SO glad she pulled out of the collaboration with Dollshe. I also really wanted Doma, but not on that body and certainly not from Dollshe himself. I'm glad we can all have the chance to get him (and Luke) from a more reputable production company, and in a form that will fit a wider variety of bodies.

 

I’m also excited about her ending with Dollshe because I think Dollshe casted Hayato and the resin match wasn’t as good to Soom as Austaras. Most of my dolls are 75cm so I’m happy with the sizing but I do hope she gives y’all options. Always good to see variety I wonder if she will sculpt a younger looking head on 68-70cm

 

LuXian DF-H 68cm collab does sort of look like a baby Austaras/Veles sort of face. All of his features are a bit rounder and softer.

 

Just curious, what's the source of this info that Dollshe casted Hayato? I've seen people say this a couple of times, but I've never seen this indicated on any of her accounts.

Also, for the record, on her Weibo post where she mentioned she is trying for grey and purple tones for Lyra, she stated in response to a comment that she has no plans to cast Soom normal again. She said that Hayato normal is close to "cream." I'm not sure if that's Soom cream or some other cream, but Hayato normal was not intended to match Soom normal.

 

On my part (not sure about others) it was an educated assumption since the resin color had changed and she was working with Dollshe on the Doma and Luke heads at the same time Hayato was releasing. Dollshe casts for other companies and is relatively on-time for their orders, so it would make sense given the partnership. But this isn't confirmed info, at least from what I've seen.

Hayato WS is relatively close to Soom 2021 Cream skin. Soom Cream 2021 is a bit darker and more yellow than Hayato. Soom Cream 2023 is way too pink (I don't have a 2022 CS to compare). Soom is notorious for inconsistent resin though (even in the same batches) so it's hard to say what year and/or batch the Soom resin was from when it was matching when Mori9 heads.

However, from eyeballing online Hayato looks like Dollshe Pale Milk/Pale (got rid of Snow Pale it looks like now its just Pale now). I have my Hayato on The Voice WS. The Voice WS is supposed to be a Soom Cream match but much too dark and yellow for 2023 Soom Cream, more matches Soom 2021 but its not perf (The Voice WS though is a near perfect match for Loong Soul French Yellow which runs super pale compared to other companies with Normal skin).

But hmm I wonder who her new caster will be. Does 2Ddoll do casting services? Thats who Ciel was with and they did purple and they have grey as well. Regardless I hope they have a smooth working relationship would love to get more of her sculpts!

I have Hayato as well as recently made Dollshe dolls, and the resin is completely different.

I highly doubt Mori would have Dollshe cast dolls outside of their partnership when Mori has access to local casting factories within China that she can communicate with in her primary language.

 

@Constance Hard to say when a Dollshe doll was made though since there’s such a big time between when it’s sent and when you ordered. The doll or parts of it could have been casted but not sanded/finished and then sat for a year or two until finished or the head was casted. You would only know when you got the finished doll lol.

But you would think so that she would stick with China casters but that could also be said about the collaboration as well. She still had to communicate and send her masters to him in Korea which she would have to do in both cases of him casting Hayato or the Doma and Luke collab heads. Her previous collabs were only with Chinese companies Universe doll and DFH. Now most recently with Chinese company 2ddoll.

Why collab with Dollshe at all then with him being in Korea? Especially when it’s not like his reputation isn’t known in China prior even if he isn’t as popular. Maybe he gave her a heavy discounted deal or a bigger share on profits she couldn’t refuse as he knew she would attract business and tempt people into buying from him again. Definitely agree with Cloudedmind seems like Ponzi scheme from him so it would align with him doing anything to attract more business to keep more funds flowing in as that’s the only way to keep the walls from crashing down.

But of course this is all speculation.

My hunch was correct about 2021 Soom cream skin, so random that it also was an exact match to the one I was comparing it to (although my boy has yellowed a bit which cloud also account for discrepancy). But it looks like she is matching Soom just 2021 Soom.

@Constance perhaps her saying she is no longer matching Soom normal then means she is no longer updating the resin tone to match Soom? 2021 Soom has more yellow undertones and 2022-2023 has more pink undertones so they are definitely different. I don't speak chinese so I can only rely on translate so just guessing the context.
