I just emailed Stacy's Pink Ocean about a status update. I've seen the artist's webio page and it looks they started shipping in April.
It is the large ones I want to see as I really wanted to buy but couldn't justify paying the 3000 usd for the resin combo I wanted (and had concern that all the sale promo pictures were of the small scale version).
Stacy’s told me that my order was delayed until August and to make up for the delay, the studio would send me a free random head as a gift. I’m not too bothered by the delays so far, but I appreciate the gift nonetheless.
Oops been busy. In June, Stacy's said they were waiting for more info/update. I just emailed them again for an update. I haven't seen the smaller merman! (Other than offical pics) I guess my butt needs to hunt the internets!
Got an email! Stacy's is finding an shipping company due to the large and very heavy box he came in. RIP my wallet on shipping
wow I bet he is going to cost a few hundred dollars in shipping. I hope they box him very safely. I cant wait to see him...so excited
Omg I'm going to be spending about $950 for shipping. Thank God for Stacy's offering layaway. They're making a box for me to ship him. I'm thinking about 3 months to pay off the layaway shipping.
Oh wow! I’m assuming that’s the string price? I might ask if they’re able to send him unstrung at that cost
Oh heck no. I can't restring anything with my condition currently. Injured one of my wrists at work. Affected that whole hand. Can't pull, push, or twist, nor lift 10lbs with that hand.
@Haruka, Sorry to hear about your wrist. I hope you able to heal quickly and well. It's a bummer when you can't use your hand. The amount for shipping is a whopper. Wow.
It's workman's comp and it takes forever.... I've been injured since March of last year. Got surgery in February and physical therapy prescriptions that's another bout of problems. Yeah, I wasn't too surprised by the shipping. I knew it was going to over $500. But $950, oof. My wallet is crying. BTW, I paid it off. So I'm just waiting to confirm. I have a feeling that it's going to be like Christmas for these next few months. I have a dollmore Trinity that I completed her layaway 2 month ago and next month is a smartdoll whom I'm debating of paying off now.
Can't wait for pictures! He is really beautiful looking but his mermaid tail looks kinda fragile? I'm always concerned when a doll has many extra parts :/
WOOT! I got his tracking number! Thank goodness it's not FedEx! They decided to use UPS instead of SF shipping and now he's in two boxes. RIP! Either way, I can't wait!
He's HOME!!! Heavy and tall is an major understatement! Seems that DoA's site doesn't want to behave. So go to my Flickr page please! And before anyone asks. It's too hot to take a picture of him outside right now. Also I can't take a picture of him indoors or on my lap currently from head to toe because he's that tall and my husband can't backup that far in the house right now.
Just saw pics of one of these guys that made it home, and he is stunning. And massive. He is massively stunning. I’m also impressed that he seems to pose decently, and the detailing on the hands and fins is beautiful. I can’t wait until more people get theirs and start posting pics.
That is a merMAN (as in he appears to be as tall as a whole man). Beautifully sculpted. What will you do about the painting?
TBH I'm probably going to body blush him myself. Yay... A learning curve. As for a faceup. Not sure yet. For the tail, I'm tempted to place LED lights inside, blue colored though.
Probably 132cm when laying down. I know he's over 4' ft all in my bed. No, I do not sleep with my dolls. I did take him to a meetup and it was a pain to get him in and out of the car. My husband did not like it one bit due to I'm still injuried. Ugh, I hate workman's comp, they take forever!
