Moona and Bracken .Larger Moona arrives first pictures of Mer-Mina

Thank you everyone! I will have to try some shoes on her and see if that helps with standing. She already let me know she wants some boots XD.

Oh, and another question, her wig has a small matted area on the back, how do I groom it? If I remember correctly, mohair can be wet with lukewarm water. Will that help de-tangle? I just don't want to mess up her pretty hair.

She's gorgeous - I don't know why, but I do think I prefer the face of the larger Moona to the tiny one. I think I'm going to have to add one to my wish list

Daisy is a great name for her. Her pintuck dress is just right, really pretty and delicate

 

rizusan - I have read that someone (maybe sistercuervo?) used a stronger wire to wire her large Moona. And yes, you can spray the wig with water and restyle

Matryoshka Daisy is lovely, one of the nicest Minas I've seen, is she white skin?

 

I would gently detangle it with my fingers. You might loose a little bit of hair but it'll be okay. You can wet the hair completely if you like (Just make sure your Moona doesn't get wet.) and you can do all sorts of things to style it. You can even roll the hair up on "curlers" made of pipe cleaners. You can also use conditioner for humans on the hair. I did that with a couple of Tinybear wigs I was having problems with and I just loved the result. When the hair is dry you can also use hair mousse on it.

The way you can styles these wigs is one of the reasons I love them so much.

Her previous owner called her Lola, I'll keep that for now.

 

rizusan, you have such a lovely Moona, I'm in love with her coloring. I love my big Moona too, aren't they wonderful? I had a little knot in the back on one of my wigs, I didn't wet it, just took my time and gently tried to pull it apart to lose as little hair as possible... I don't know if that's the correct way or not, but it worked.

Daisy and I thank everyone so much for all the lovely compliments, I think the name is sticking. Kayjay, she’s actually natural skin, the photograph made her a little paler than she really is.

 

I went shopping last night so I think my little Auxin (mina) is going to FINALLY have some shoes; I also found a few different other dolly outfits so hopefully they'll fit her and she'll finally be clothed in something other than the little Kelly outfit as well.

Ohhh also, I had some trouble with her eyes; I had got these little 6mm ones and apparently I just was putting them in wrong; I got some white postertack and used the method I saw somewhere on here where I just wrapped a bunch around the eye and then shoved it in there and WOW! It turned out really good. I'm going to take pictures once I think to go outside with her; I really need to get a photo setup on top of the dresser or something so I can take pictures during the nighttime too.

I got some Bratz Kidz stuff in the mail today and it was little Auxin's big day! I think she was feeling a little jealous after the other girls got here yesterday...



I think this dress came with the AA Bratz doll but I can't remember, of course It was not sewn up the back and it does not come even close to fastening on her so I sewed up the back of the skirt (I think it was a shirt for the bratz) and just leave it unfastened. I might try to work out another fastening, maybe a hook and eye or something.


I also changed her eyes out to this lovely 6mm green:



God I'm more and more in love with her every time.

At first when I put the 6mm's in I wasn't sure if they were going to work but they definitely grew on me; I'm actually one of those people who tends to prefer the bigger end of eyes I think but on the *tinies* it's a whole different story because their eye sockets are so small to begin with, I think.

 

Ok everyone, I am about to purchase a Mina human and I need info before proceeding. I couldn't read through all of the pages but I see that she can wear Blythe shoes, Elfdoll and Bratz kidz clothes. Where can I find patterns? Can she fit Kelly clothes or shoes? I'm not too sure about her size because I haven't seen her in comparison pics. Does she come with a wig and eyes or do I need to buy them? What size wig, eyes, shoes does she wear? If there aren't any patterns that can be used to sew for her, is there a doll that's close in size that I can adapt patterns from? My mind is racing with a lot of questions because I want to get started sewing as soon as possible so she has things to wear when she gets here. All info about her will be appreciated. Can I see more pics of the tan Mina's? I'm leaning toward the dark tan but I like the light tan too. Maybe I can have twins lol.

 

RROSS i am not an expert, but i do have Mina human and this is what i can tell you. the best fit for her from a commercial source are the Bratz "Kidz" clothes. not the regular or baby size. along with that, the tops that have stretch a bit fit best, some of the non stretch tops i could not close in the back. the only shoes i found that even came close to fitting were some tiny Blythe shoes on ebay. they are flat slip on little skimmer type of style.
there are some DOA designers that make the most awesome things for Mina. Marsh makes pants, Spampy makes t-shirts, rompers, and P.J.s (knit type of things) Th1 does crotchet, Mimistuff makes whole outfits, Carla makes awesome outfits, Elliboo does Knits....i hope i haven't left anyone out! if so , someone please add names!
her wig is size 3, you can get different colors from Tinybear, they are the best for her. her eyes are size 6 or 5. she will come with Tinybear wig and eyes however.
i don't know of any patterns, maybe someone else does. Mina is very very tiny! she is very thin, her waist circumference is about 5cm maybe? i can't even measure the circumference of her arms and legs they are so tiny.
anyways, this is the best i can offer for now, hope it helps a little!

I am using some eighteenth century style dollhouse doll patterns by Susan Sirkis. They are a skootch too big on my Moona, elmml, but not crazy huge. Google her for her website with lots of books of patterns.
Make sure, for the Sleeping Elf tiny-tinies, to get the dollhouse scale book or books.

I have grand thoughts about the 1880s dresses (also Sirkis) for Moona. (she gives me quite the look. )

If you need patterns to be Perfect in fit, etc., these won't work, but a bit of effort with fitting works wonders.

I just wanted to say a huge "thank you" to those who suggested the Heidi Ott clothing for Moona. I found a wonderful seller on ebay and got a bunch of things for Moona. She was getting tired of having to wait for me to find the time to make her some things. I'll have to find some time to post the pictures, but everything fits her perfectly and the detail is amazing. No velcro and the tiniest of buttons used. Thanks again!

 

RROSS, I don't have Mina, but I do have Moona so if they are the same size, I have a few ideas.

For patterns, the Dawn doll patterns work. There was a link in the Marketplace for free patterns online. I'm sure if you did a search online you could find more. I've made a pair of cords, and two tops and the patterns work perfectly with no adjustment needed.

I also just purchased the Heidi Ott dollhouse doll clothing and it fits perfectly. I am so amazed by the quality and detail for the price.

 

do you have a link or name of ebay seller for the Heidi Ott clothing? i have tried to find them before but no luck.

The 24mm slip on flats at that site are only $5 a pair and they fit Mina like a dream. Seems they might also fit over thin socks/tights, but I'm not 100% sure. They also come in oodles of colors.

I actually really like that site overall; They have some cheap basic type shoes and you can just find the measurement (foot length) for your doll's feet and they've got pretty much every size.

I'm also interested in knowing who is selling the Heidi Ott stuff; The picture of the lingerie that Carrie posted is just too sweet.

 

I was having trouble, too, but I just happened to be at the right place at the right time I think. My seller was sadiana. I just looked at her store and it looks like she has a winter coat that would fit Moona. It is so adorable, but I've already bought enough for Moona right now. sadiana was an awesome seller. The shipping was free and super, super fast.

I'm after a green 'Mina' boy, then I'm going to try and wait to see what happens with 'Sam' and with CoCo's male counterpart (if I ever get around to managing to design as versatile a face for him as hers) next year.

The fat faeries are great, they feel wonderfully comforting to hold, and if you don't have clothes for them..well..who cares..they look just as great in the all together! Just make sure you lock away any Barbies you have or they'll be bullied mercilessly and their clothing stolen...oh and hide the cakes!!

I have fallen of Mina, but now I am thinking of getting both a boy and a girl. Could I see then without clothes standing together?

 

This is what I have to do! My biggest issue is that I may be coming into some money soon and I'm SOOOO nervous that "pacing myself" will just go out the window. Ha! But hopefully by then the sheer *needing* will have worn off and it'll just be the "Okay, in a few months maybe you can get another.."

Then again, maybe not. Hehee. It's so scary because I feel like there's a limit on how many large dolls I'm comfortable owning but tiny ones I could just go forever... Before you know it I'll have a tiny Army who will be attempting to overthrow my leadership or making unreasonable demands!! XD

Hi BloodLath, I'm not sure if anyone has a Mina boy in their collection yet, but if you want to get an idea of how the bodies look they share the same ones as Bracken and small Moona, it's just the heads that are different.
If you go to the first page of this entire thread and click on the link for Bracken's first pictures there is a photo there of a pre casting Bracken sculpt beside a blank Moona, that may give you a rough idea.

 

Teenagers are as pesky as dolls sometimes. At least dolls can't wreck your car. I don't think they can anyway. Also if they bug you there is no Marketplace section for them. Hmmm...

I have only one large doll left now, and the naughty TB elves have been sneaking to the computer to write up Marketplace ads to do away with her. They keep whispering that she'd be worth at least a couple TB dolls so what am I waiting for. Mine are looking for green cousins. They're going to have to wait a bit, but try telling that to them, greedy little imps!
