Moona and Bracken .Larger Moona arrives first pictures of Mer-Mina

I'm so excited about Moona, as she and Larkspur can share a house**click thumbnail for larger**
here's one I made for tiny Lucy (7" tall)
I used thin sheets of balsa wood as a base, cut to size and hinged all round so that it will unfold. Tiny twigs, moss and other grubby/fungus type things are from the craft store hot glued into place, as well as bark and pine cones from the yard. The doors and windows open on hinges, too. Close up of roof Interior walls are washed with thinned acrylics. There isn't a floor, as I used big fluffy dried moss for "carpet"

 

As requested I've taken measurements in mm and inches. They are as accurate as I could tell using a narrow ribbon. She was too small for my tape measure.

Here is just a cute one of her ear first.


The ovals and circles indicate circumference round the area. Straight lines are the length as indicated. Sorry if this is confusing. I realized I'd tried to get too much info onto the photo. Go slowly and it should make sense.
OOps! the head should say 3 15/16", sorry.

Blod, I love your description. How anyone could be disappointed would baffle me. She is exquisite and to have a real doll house size is so wonderful.

I have an idea for a wee housey, was going to see if the old dolls house was still up at my parents, but I might not have to if I find what I'm looking for!!

Goodness me! This thread has taken off somewhat since I last checked in. You are all very welcome for photos and measurements. Anyone getting her is going to be even more thrilled when you hold her. She is a delicate, yet sturdy little creature. She melts your heart in an instant!

Your girl looks very elegant Mamehisa and if I didn't know better I'd think she was a much larger doll, in fact even though I have my own I find myself having to be constantly remined how tiny she actually is, she always seems so much bigger as she has so much personality!

Yeah Carrie I know full well how much Fantasy Art was frowned upon, I got told off quite a lot in school for it and was told it wasn't a proper art career , got told off at home as well initially as I was apparently wasting my time when I should be drawing animals. It's one of the reasons I refused to attend art college when I left school.

 

Hey Carrie, will you be pming people when you've sent their moona? I only ask because I'm going on vacation next week and if I should be expecting her arrival next week I want to make sure my mum knows.

The older face would work well for the collection of older woman characters for Prachet inspiration, like Mrs. Cake, but I think the younger fat witch, who can sing in harmony with herself, but whose name escapes me, might work better to give your fingers a younger face to draw.

I feel a bit silly asking, but would I be able to nip that idea for mine? I have a NAME for her already but I'm having the most difficult time thinking of exactly what kind of creature she is (I love to be specific when it comes to my dolls) and I just adore your idea! Mine will be named Ellette, or Avian, or maybe Coralie.

Also, Carrie! So glad she's on her way! I'll be watching my mailbox constantly.

I read that last paragraph and started laughing my socks off When I unexpectedly started expecting Moona I listed my Kosen Gibbon and Baby Gorilla (handmade in Germany) on eBay! Today when I saw Bracken's picture for the first time I listed my Tiny Kitty Collier Fashion Shop Trunk with TKC doll included and a Madame Alexander ltd edition Sophia Cruz!

And tonight...the other 'loosable' things upstairs are getting listed too. I betcha Carrie is responsible for a big increase in eBay's stock this week! I can't be the only one caught short by the cuteness I'm selling now to get a head start on the zaftig elf with the generious bum.

I have some of the sprouts clothes. They fit my Erin, my Namoo and are too big for my SoJi They may need a tuck or two. I have a feeling that she is too slender. Cumi clothes seemed too big and Cumi is between Namoo and Erin. Worth a try. I will try them on when Moona gets here and post pictures.

LMAO you know me too well imajica, the first thing I did when I saw the pictures Carrie posted was save them to do just that..... well actually that was the second thing I did. The first thing I did was think 'Gimmee, gimmee gimmeee' and make a sort of squeaking noise. The third thing I did was think to myself 'damn there goes the Xmas pressie of a Wii that my hubby and I were going to get for ourselves'.

I might hold out for a tan version of him though, depending on how dark the tan will be but no doubt instead I'll crumble and go for a NS one. I'm so weak willed I have fallen for his mischievous face already and I can see the little sparkle of pure mischief in his eyes as he stares at you from underneath an unruly mop of hair.

I'm also so looking forward to seeing how Bon-Bon progresses, she sounds like a must buy!!

I bought my Gigi a house to live in and then i bought her a dolls house to put in her dolls house, it even opens up at the front and the roof opens too - i am looking for teenyweeny furniture for it now.............i can feel a serious elfish addiction coming on!

Oh wow!!! I woke up (its 3am here) and thought I will just get up and check for new posts (obsessed much right now lol)... Blodeuwedd that is utterly gobsmackingly amazing. I almost cried he is just so perfect. I ordered some new eyes to try in my girl and one pair is that exact colour. I absolutely cant wait. This is just how it used to feel at christmas ...35 cough years ago

 

What great fun this is!! I see Bracken with a short pixie style hairdo. I am new to bjd's and bought my first one this summer. There was another doll I fell in love with, but something was holding me back from ordering her. I am so glad now because as soon as I saw these tiny dolls I just had to jump in and get them both, no hesitation. I anticipate that I will be carrying Monna around with me a lot. She can visit with me at my office. Also I am going to a doll workshop in October and I plan to take her for show and tell. Sigh! Happiness is!

edit Well that was an experience and a half and I suppose now at least I have a bit of an idea of how to restring. Just gave Siskin (Moona)a new face up and whilst trying to re-attach the head the elastic slipped off of the hook , then one of the knots undid itself when we tried to get it pulled back through. We eventually managed to get it sorted but my heart was in my mouth the whole time I was so terrified I was going to break her. Hurray for restringing tutorials!!!

 

That happened with my Narae but she literally fell apart in my hands. It was a terrible few minutes but it taught me how to re-string much earlier than I ever thought I would need to. Glad Siskin is ok, look forward to seeing her new face

 

Ah Blodeuwedd...You made me glad all over again that I am getting Bracken. These portraits are simply splended...and grand of you to do for us all

I'm not usually very good with boy dolls, but this little chap...I know him already. He is so cross on the outside with little Moona Blod...but perishing with love for her on the inside. Being so small, it must be hard to keep that much passion bottled up.

I have a Tinybear brown wig that I think will make some interesting breeks for him...perhaps with braces?

 

My as of yet un-named Moona just arrived, she's currently sat atop a highlighter in the buff in front of my monitor.
I can't get over just how tiny she really is and I'm so completely blown away by how beautiful she is, I'm so definately going to have to get a Bracken.
