My LSG Pepe arrived today, and I just had to get her picture taken in a very special dress that Stella Maris handknit for me I think the colors complement her perfectly! I am in love with this little elfkin!

You're so lucky! I know you guys have been so frustrated waiting for your dolls to come home. Still, I'd have traded anything to get one of the proper color like yours are. I would have waited any amount extra rather than getting a berry purple doll.
It's so frustrating to have bought a limited doll like this and see other people get beautiful ones whereas the one I got was a whole other color entirely. Especially knowing I'll probably never have another chance to get one.

I'm very happy for you, though! And yours is the absolute perfect color.

Just for me... I'm very very depressed.

 

ryochan, there's a rather blue-gray one on eBay right now. It has a ViYa face-up that gives it a purply color, but if you look at the body it looks non-purple. Maybe you could try for that one?

Ryochan - You know allot of the ones that appear blue are NOT! they are purple. I have emailed a few people with blue dolls now and each one tells me they are more purple in reality and not the blue I am seeing. Look at Toydogs pic clearly the color is off in the picture it looks more like a tan doll. These colors don't show correctly in pics.

Why don't you put your pepe up for sale on ebay they are selling really high right now and then you could use the money to buy the shade you actually want. Keep in mind that these blue ones will be more purple in person but not as purple as yours no doubt. I know yours is really purple. I bet there are some out there that want that purple color, I can imagine how you feel! it would really suck.

Although Rogue photographs pretty much gray, he is VERY grapey purple IRL.
In natural light he is really grape, in artificial light he does look more gray, but still with a blueberry-type undertone.
My pics are not showing him as grape as he is.....I think it's the greens and other purples in the pictures.

Argh, pictures can be so deceiving Though I have heard from at least two LSG owners that their dolls were more gray-blue than purple. Apparently those were the very first ones or something.

I think ryo already sold her LSG though I'm pretty sure he's become Hayden by another DOA member.

I've already given my purple lad a loving new home (I'm so glad he went to someone who really appreciated him!) and have adopted instead a lovely MistyAqua (not really blue by any definition but that's OK~) Pepe but I still pine for the little zombie I had living in my head (although my little watersprite is a very nice consolation prize).

Well, maybe they'll try again!

Mine also arrived today, I'll post a pic once the face is done. I also wanted to comment that the head cap is a darker purple than the body and the head has more gray pigment than the body and head cap.

 

Really? How Bizarre! I'd be interested to see some pics showing the comparison.

It's funny - I can see it, but it looks like the cap matches the neck/torso very well OTOH. Different resin batch made while someone else was off making the face, perhaps? Still adorable. ^_^


For those who end up with dolls that are not the color they intended, another thought might be to post a WTT in the marketplace - perhaps someone who got a grey would like to trade for a grape - it's a very cute color too and maybe both could be happier that way. Worth a shot perhaps, and could avoid the question, suspense and expense of selling one and purchasing another...? Just a thought, could be a dork thought....

I know for a fact that the head cap was the last piece to be made because Bambicrony had a molding problem with head caps. Actually the face and torso are the closest in color while the feet are the same color as the head cap. Different batches of resin was also the first thing that came to my mind.

 

Wow... good thing it's the cap and you are going to have wigs...! Seems like BC takes a big risk in making dolls from different resin batches, with the colors shifting so easily. I hope everyone's dolls are mostly matching, at least (including my LSG Pepe, which hasn't shipped yet...).

So I can cover it with the wig, although they are such nice sculps that they look great even bald

 

Mine two match up in color but their head caps do not line up as nicely as I had hoped for.

 

The headcaps don't line up on normal dolls either there's a gap in the front.

 

Aack! What happened to my picture? Anyway, I just took a closer look at my headcap, and it seems to match. I just received her, so she had to be the latest batch made. She is so cute-hope they make more elves soon!

Thought I should post this; I did a little experiment with one of my spare LSG hands. I left it in direct sunlight on my windowsill (on the inside), I was planning to leave it for a week but after just 2 days the colour difference is dramatic.
The hand on the right is the discoloured one, it has faded pretty evenly and has even discoloured a little on the underside- (I can't explain this ). I expect it to be almost white by the end of the week
If its any consolation, those of you with very berry purple dolls could leave them in the sun for a bit lol

 

That faded even more than my mistyrose test it's nearly the color of murky normal skin

 

Yeah it's pretty dramatic, my doll is currently hidden around the corner of my wardrobe where she's shadowed.

 

I was just thinking that you could tone down the blueberry dolls greatly.

I do know my misty blue kumi has gone lighter in color more softer and muted. I actually do prefer it I thought the color was too hospital green looking before.

 

I must confess I prefer Aisling's slightly faded look. She looks more alive and less like she's made out of peptobismol

 

YEP! exactly. When I saw the pink owner pictures I thought the same! and the misty blue hospital. I think she is now more muted what happened about your leg not locking? I actually have the exact same on one knee.

 

She sits on the mantle most of the time so I haven't gotten around to fixing it

 

my pink pepe boy Themis has faded a small bit all over, even the parts that are fully covered. Its very even and the only discoloring is the slight yellow at the top of the headcap. His face and hands are the only thing exposed and they are same color as the rest of him (slightly faded). He is still pink though. I like both his original and faded color.
My LSG roko has only been with me a few weeks so I've noticed no change. Since her story line is not complete, she's mostly been kept in a glass case with many of my other tinies that gets very little light (direct or indirect, natural or not).

it´s funny how we all entered the same event and there are people who have got their tinies for long enough to test, while as some of us did´nt even receive them yet (yes all there´s left to do is laugh at it I guess XD)

I ordered my first very early on in the process (once the non-blue colors were announced) with no faceup so I suspect that helped with the timing. My second was from an existing owner who did the same thing.
its hard to read about others when you are still waiting. I've been there with other dolls in the past and feel for you. But the wait, if approached with the right attitude can make the arrival that much more special!

The french resin is sort of translucent and their hands aren't very thick. I can see light through them.

did they refund you or make you send the head back to Viya or anything?
