Hybrids Mirodoll - Bodies and Hybrids

Does anyone have the 70cm boy body? The really skinny one? I was just reminded of it's existence and I have floating heads that might be able to use it....

I'm looking to put IOS Jaguar and Chaos on it if anyone has both laying around by chance....

 

I have a 70cm mirodoll body and an IOS Anima, and the head used to be on the body full time. I would have to search for a photo of it, but the 70cm IOS boys do fit. I did need to put a bit of hot glue around the top of the neck to help with head posing.

Or I could take a new photo, but the body has been used for dye testing so it's not very pretty. :P

 

If you could find or take a picture that would be awesome!!! I don't care about the resin match, my heads are WS and I know that won't match new, and they're a couple years old now. So I'll have to do creative blushing regardless, but I'm ok with that.

I'm mostly looking for proportion I've had some trouble with these heads over the years. Sigh.

 

I found one. This was part of the box opening set when I received the body, so it wasn't too difficult to find. I'm glad I took a picture of the doll all put together at the end of opening boxes.

I was wondering if anyone here would know whether a Dollclans U-Line head would work on a Mirodoll 60 cm male body. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any pictures of that specific hybrid but thought it might work out because the U-Line and Miro bodies have almost matching shoulder, chest and hip measurements. My only concern is that the Mirodoll body is 4 cm shorter and I don't know if it will make the head look bigger than it actually is.

 

Hello! Does anyone know which resin color should I chose for my body to match a Supia NS head from 2015 ? - normal skin classic or normal skin pink?

 

I don't know for certain, but unless Supia is very very pink, classic is your best bet. I thought I'd go with pink for a pinkish Iple head, but the classic was a closer match ... the pink is very pink.

 

Miro NS pink is very pink when it first arrives. But it tones down very quickly to a very nice peachy pink NS color. Make sure you wait those two months before you try to match it to anything.

 

Does anybody happen to have a picture of Mirodoll yellow next to Dollzone's 2016 yellow? I read on the Mirodoll website that their yellow skin is supposed to match DZ's, but since DollZone recently changed their resin colors, I'm not entirely sure which batch Mirodoll was referring to... D:

 

No Dollzone whatsoever in the house ... Miro's normal yellow is between Granado and Iple normal, if that helps any - Granado is very yellow, Iple varies slightly but is a spot more pinkish. Miro is bang in the middle. (I made the mistake of choosing normal pink for an Iple head ... yellow would have been the closer match )

edited to add - Miro's batches seem to vary, I have one Miro body that is on Granado's end of the spectrum (very yellow) while another fits the above description. Miro normal pink is very pink, but as of late so is Iple (there may have been a formula change, Iple used to vary more, but for the past year they've been consistent - and pink).

 

Can you take a pic of your floating and post it please? I know monitors can make colors different, but it might help us advise.

He looks like a case for normal yellow to me. My Vito boy is a couple years old and yellowed slightly so I can't judge based on that, but knowing how pink the normal pink is ... you're probably better off with the yellow. (I'm fairly sure these pics have been posted here, but here's Jamie, my Granado Enoch (with faceup, blushed slightly to match), on a normal yellow body. You can see the head is a smidge more yellow than the body. Here's Timmy, Iple Noel, on a slightly darker Miro body - different batch and newer than the one Jamie is on in the pic. He looks close to your boy's resin.)

 

Oh LOVELY! Looks like a gorgeous, pale yellow. Like Ringdoll wheat, perhaps. I will get some pictures of Miro yellow for you! It may be possible to ask for a 'light yellow' too. I asked for a yellowed white, cream white, for a very yellowed DZ head. Oh I have pics of that...


That is a very yellowed, old DZ modded head on a Miro doll 70cm girl body in cream white. Maybe that is too light for your head?

Yellow matching! The chest piece is a brand-new, still in the plastic wrap bust from Miro in their NS Yellow. It is YELLOW. Banana yellow. In the pic with the legs, it's being held against an Impldoll real skin shin and an older Miro Doll yellow foot. My camera is trying to be clever and make the colors match better, but that's not what I wanted to happen.

The other pics with incredibly neglected Aerik (Dollzone Wing about 10 years old), is that same Miro chest against truly old Doll Zone yellow skin. Next to the Miro piece, the DZ yellow doesn't even look yellow... in person. The only pic you can see the actual difference well enough is the last one to the right. That is closer. How annoying. Still, Miro NS Yellow would be the way to go for old DZ yellow than any other colors they offer.

hello ! I want to ask if SWITCH NS will match Mirodoll NS or NS yellow? ^_^

I bought Seolrok Holy NS (head is about 8.7 inch)
and I wonder which skin color and proportion will match this head. Is 65cm body will be a good match? thank you so much !

 

I finally got a mirodoll body for my boy! I was lucky to stumble on a Tan Thick neck 60cm body and snatch him up.
The resin match to Iplehouse RS is... atrocious. It's a very light, sandy tone, makes Iple Real look very red and very dark in comparison.
But that's okay! I'm going to attempt to dye it to match, and do some aesthetic and mobility mods while I'm at it.
What sort of mods have you seen/done on your Miro bodies? I'm looking to improve the look and mobility of wrist and ankle joints, redo the elbow joints, possibly make the thigh joint more functional, and sand away some of the shelf of the torso joint to improve mobility.I don't hate his hands as much in person as I thought I would, so instead of sculpting new ones, I'm going to attempt to repose these with boiling to be a bit more expressive.

 

I only fixed the legs on my 68cm boy because he couldn't stand. He'll get replacement hands once they come in and I've dyed them (I dyed the body to match a tan RD head) - the hands really bug me most of all, now that he can stand.

On the subject of RD heads, could anyone with a K and a 60 or 68cm Miro boy snap a quick reference pic for me? Judging by my Norman Light, he should work ... but I'm not 100% sure he'd work for what I have in mind, and I'm afraid I need to see the hybrid to figure that out..

 

Can anyone tell me if the mirodoll 1/4 girl body in Normal Yellow/Volks yellow is a good fit and color match for Volks MSD heads? Bought an older Volks MSD head and am having a hard time finding a body to match. Thanks!

 

And another question - does anyone happen to have the 61cm boy body and an Iple nYID boy head? Skintone doesn't matter, I know normal classic is within blushing range (Iple varies a fair bit), just for size reference ...

 

I would also like to know the fit of a nYID on the 61cm body.
I have a grey 66cm body and my spare head for my nYID Chris fits it really well only a tiny bit of gaping.

 

Unfortunately, I don't have a nYID head, but I do have an old YID head, Lion. I think he's on the larger size, though... but I can still take a picture If you'd like one. If it's helpful, I've been able to put a CP Rona (female head) as well as several old CP male sculpts on the 61cm body and they look amazing. Something about that 61cm body just works amazingly well with most sculpt.

That being said, I personally think it's too skinny for my Migidoll Ryu head, Switch Haseo, and Luts Howl. My fix is to buy a 66cm body and whittle some legs down to size. I've taken measurements and it's very possible to do so by taking chunks here and there, Lol!!! Just waiting until I can buy some bodies.

(I've got a huge comparison of four Miro large bodies where I swapped a ton of heads. Didn't have the 68cm included that day, though I own it. It's about time to do a new batch anyway with all the new heads I have in~)

Yes! I have a boy Chloe head on a 66cm Miro lean body. I like the 68cm Ringdoll body better for it, but it's definitely serviceable.

Oh that worked! It's not a bad hybrid- the 66cm body might be better for height for really there's little can be done about that giant neck IH dolls need without getting the beefy body with a thick neck and then whittling it down. Well that is not true- there are some easy mods can be done to help correct that too. And I think with a wig, it may even the whole deal out. That body is cute with that head! Thanks for sharing!

@emac thank you!!! That helps loads. (And you're right, he's nYID. I think he was released at the same time as Noel.)

 

Ty for the pix of a YID on the 61, based it plus my own 66 body with a YID head. I'll stick to that size for future YID hybridizing as it works really well. (and yeah Justin was one of the first 3 new YID boys, it was him Patrick and Eddie. Noel came shortly after them.)

 

I saw Miro doll had a new 43cm girl body that looked much more robust than their old one. I have yet to see owner pics of this, but if I were to pair a Volks head with a Miro body, both MSD, I'd go for that one. Plus, Miro will be coming out with an MSD mermaid body soon. There are pics on their FB page. Color match should be OK. They call is Volks-matching yellow.

AND I already talked to Miro and they will take that 43cm MSD and make her a 65cm for those of us who like the bigger gals! WHEE!

Ignore resin match, please - this body came second-hand, has probably yellowed more on top of being Normal Yellow, and there's residual blushing I couldn't get off.


There is a bit of gapping, but as long as he won't be sporting a buzzcut, a wig will hide it.


This is the least flattering angle I could find ...

 

@Jany, that hybrid looks GREAT! How is head mobility? What is the finished height? Is it 66cm or taller?

 

Head mobility is good - the gap in the back might look a bit unsexy without a wig to camouflage it, but it means he can look up pretty far. He's pretty much spot-on 66cm tall, maybe a hair shorter because Miro heads are big. But honestly, if Jamie hadn't already claimed my AprilStory Senior, I'd get him one of these.

I have a floating Dollshe Arsene head in pure fresh skin and I was kinda considering to get a Mirodoll 66 cm body for him, but I'm not quite sure about resin matching/neck fitting. If you have any pics, feel free to throw them at me!

I see that Dollshe pale seems to match pretty well with Mirodoll WS... but, from what I could gather, Dollshe Fresh is slightly darker/more on the pinkish side. Would I be better off picking a WS or a NS body?

 

I don't have a NS Mirodoll to compare to but I think the WS would be too pale for Fresh

(If you look at the feet, that's probably the best comparison.)

My Mirodoll is slightly more yellow than the Dollshe. The Ringdoll is closer to the Dollshe.

In natural light, the match is really good, but with flash you can tell that the Mirodoll body is more yellow.

 

Ooooh, thanks for the reference pics! *____* Yep, I was afraid that WS might be too light... and yesss, I heard that Ringdoll NS is a pretty close match to Dollshe Fresh. The match between Ringdoll and Mirodoll doesn't seem that bad either, though :O pretty sure that with some blushing I could fix the matching issues!

Also, hound on that tan body looks awesome, @SteamWitch!

 

@Astraea Nevermore The slight mismatch in color was a little jarring for me at first, but I'm used to it now. And like I said, in natural lighting, it's hardly noticeable.

As you can see, that matches well. The Miro NS Classic is a very neutral color that can easily go a number of ways.

@SteamWitch, those Miro lean bodies hybrid well with LOTS of heads, don't they?? Kilian looks GOOD!

The Ringdoll head looks pretty good on the Miro body too!

Fabulous, Steamy!! Thank you for that! I have decided rounded the Miro wrists, while not hard, weakens the resin there to much. I got a split in one of mine. Plus, the hands work just as well, if not better, on the oval end. Sometimes mobility is lost if the wrist balls is too deep in the wrist. I'd rather have the mobility than the look. Ringdoll has small hands, at least for their own dolls comparatively, but but boy they look good on the Miro body! I'm glad I have some spare RGD hands to use in the Miros then! They actually all look good, though I find, personally, that DZ 70cm hands seem too big for my eyes- even for their own dolls.

@chalyss LOL, the reason I had the DZ hands to swap out is because I removed them for some smaller hands. I thought they were too big also.

 

Aaaw, well, that's good to know! I usually take most of my pictures in natural light anyway, so that shouldn't be much of an issue! ^___^ and oooh, thank you so much for the pic, @chalyss! You're right, the match between WS looks really great!
