Minifee MNF Discussion thread Part 6

I have Shushu and Rheia, but no pictures of them together XD I'll take some tomorrow

 

Hey lovely folks, there seems to be a huge lacking of proper Marcia spam anywhere really (Bless Chase, I just adore her). My friend really likes Marcia and think she may be perfect to shell her character but is put off by the lack of photos, anyone want to help sway her?
And I'm curious, how do you all feel about chunky footwear on your MnF? I have some boots I got off the MP and while the sole is about the same as the dale rae flats I bought.. they're just chunky as heck. Does that sort of thing personally bother you guys or not so much?

so I get Bella back from my faceup artist and then I go to North Carolina to visit my Brother and his family and I decided to leave Bella at home so she stays safe and so I dont get any hassell at the airport (I do have my littlefee with me) but now Im wishing I had her because there is a really amazing Cemetery dating back to the civil war right behind the house :O and I want so much to take pictures there with Bella Im not sure If I want to take my littlefee yet because she is a child, Im toying with the Idea of taking her to one particular headstone but im not sure about posting it one doa.

By the way, everyones spam is amazing

LOL. I think Rheia is awesome, and would love to see this thread flooded with them (as well as one from me someday, LOL)

Apricotkiss, I agree, Marcia is far to few and far between! I would love to see more pictures of her! Chase definitely is my favorite ambassador for the mold at the moment

kpatillo, I'm totally with you! I LOVE cemeteries! Here in Los Angeles, there are almost no interesting cemeteries (looks-wize) Not like in the South (or probably North/East) I just love going to Cemeteries when I go to the south! I always make my hubby stop at them off the side of the roads when we're driving places. Luckily, he's always game I loved them even as a little kid, up in Oakhurst near Bass Lake, there is a great little cemetery I used to go roaming in when we were up there staying in a motel (cause parents had business there sometimes) Loved it totally!

Some of you may remember I got a mnf breakaway ^^ Well I got him the fire arm and I finished paint it up yesterday



His head is still in possession of faceup artist but hes nearly all done! I got his eyes through the post the other day All he doesn't own is shoes... but they arn't important are they XD

So I decided to move my dolls into more lightweight clothing for the changing of the seasons, and while I was changing Irina, I noticed there's a very fine crack happening in one of her thighs, right at the knee joint. I plan on dismantling her so I can work on trying to shore up the crack (maybe with superglue? Suggestions?), but I'm really curious as to how this could have happened. She hasn't had a fall or anything hitting her there, her stringing's not outrageously tight...

...I'm wondering if maybe her body sustained a few bumps on its route to me, perhaps, and a microcrack started and has just expanded? I mean, it's still VERY tiny, which is why I'm glad I noticed it now... maybe a millimeter or two in length.

And I know we might never have an answer to the why, but darn it, I'm wondering if anyone's ever figured out knee cracks and why they occur!

 

Lyzrd: oh no! I have no idea how to go about properly fixing teeny cracks ><; my kid delf girl has a very fine one on her elbow, and i noticed it nearly a year ago and still havent figured out how to go about doing it ^^; On the upside, it hasnt grown, so i'm not too worried. I just try not to put pressure on it if i can help it.

From what i've heard, a little bit of superglue might help hold it together, but then it'll be shiny, won't it? I've also heard of people opening the crack up a bit (sanding?) then adding in apoxie to fix it.


I figure joint cracks happen because the resin can be a little thinner at the edges, and the joints put pressure on the pieces. Especially at the knee and elbow, i think, since the stringing puts pressure on the bends more than at the hands or feet, since those don't fully bend in the same way. idk though ><

I know how that is, I live about two hours away from Atlanta but all the meetups are NORTH of there! ;O; It's either that or go to meets in Savannah which is like 3 hours away. I just can't win. XD!

I was getting worried that I picked the wrong skin tone for my hybrid, but seeing BW in photos again looks like it would be too pale for her. BW looks more luminescent and creamy in a way...

I know he's not a very popular mold (which is a shame cause I think he's gorgious) but can someone give me some El spam. I ordered one at the beginning of the month and I would just love to see what you guys have done with yours while I wait for mine

MNFs tend to have that effect on you! I could be really mean and take a photo of a normal skin Shushu with my Rheia, but it's dark and I'm tired, so I'll spare you the added temptation :P

 

Hahah, thank you : P I just ordered a Pukipuki Flora and a B&G Sky on top of opening the layaway for my Shushu...I'd be completely broke if I bought a Rheia as well, and you're making it way too tempting!

 

^o^ I can't wait to get my Rheia~~~!!! DDE is being kinda slow getting their FL orders... I can't wait to be able to put up Rheia and Karsh spam~~ I still can't believe I am finally getting a MNF!!! or... TWO MNFs!

 

Speaking of layaway, I've never done it before and I was just curious as to how that works exactly. Do they make you're doll and have it ready while you're paying it off and then ship it to you once you've given them the final payment? Or do they wait and only start making the doll after you've finished paying for it?

The reason I'm asking is because I wanna get a Shushu myself but can't afford to pay for all of her right now and was thinking of doing layaway through DDE or something. I have an El on the way, but I really want Shushu...she's just so pretty!!!

 

I asked DDE because I was curious about that as well...imagine taking four months to pay the doll off, then waiting another two months or so to get the doll...that would just be torture! The person who answered my email said that they order the doll usually within a few weeks after you make the first payment. If they get my Shushu before my four months is up, I'll probably pay her off early so I can get her home

I want to order an MNF ShuShu next month...or this (dunno yet)
Which eye size fits her best? I heard 16mm is best but others said 14mm is better etc.... I'm a bit confused now...

Elruesta and Drensik, Fairyland doesn't do layaway, so you have to go through a store, like DDE. DDE puts the order in when you order it (or within a certain amount of time like once a week, when they put their orders into FL) so FL starts making the doll (or it is in line to be made) as if you ordered and paid in full. DDE eventually holds it in their store until it's paid off unless FL is backed up and they haven't sent it yet to DDE.

Make sense? LOL

Hiwatari, I like 14's in ShuShu, but she comes with 16. I like a more mature, smaller iris look. Go to Hushed.org and see the minifee info, there are even photos with different eye sizes for Shushu as well as a few other molds.

Personally, I LOVE chunky boots and shoes! I just found some SUGOI [AMAZING] boots for Ichi on ebay, and I'm already looking at a few pairs for Chiyoko, my little punk girl and she doesn't even have a body yet!

I was going through my drawer of clothing last night and I found this dress just chillin' at the bottom. I had never sold this when I got rid of my LTF Elf Ante. And I REALLY LOVE this dress and didn't want to sell it, even though I dont have any plans for a yo sized female any time soon...

So! I modified it to fit cutie bust! 'cause it wouldn't fit around anything bigger then that without EXTREME modding.

I took off the straps and cut down the back a bit and applied some velcro so it would look closed. I think over all it turned out awesome and Elise loves it x3 Of course though, Elise has shorts on under it ;P

 

Oh, wow, what a cute dress, alogue! I think it turned out awesome! Love the batiquing (sp?) on it. Also wonderful to see more cutie busts. I think my Juri will look quite nice on one.

Ryuichi Sakuma 13, wearing chunky boots completely depends on the outfit, I'd say. I don't know the style of the boots, but say, if they were really punky, and you put them together with a slightly outrageous outfit, you know, so extremes "work"? It might be great?

alogue, that dress is totally awesome! I can't see the back, but if it really looks good in the back, I'd say you made a perfect choice cause it's so cute on Elise! In fact, I feel like Torren, inspired to try to make something similar (only I wouldn't know where to begin!) Very cute!

I finally got her mohair wig looking a little better, but she will be off for a faceup on Monday.

 

Lavender is so pretty. I love that dress! I can't wait for her to come visit for a face-up. I will love working with a DES, since I want one someday myself.

I went to a meet-up yesterday and got Claudius some temporary eyes and a wig!! Not sure if the wig will be staying or not, but I like how it goes from brown to white at the tips. Makes him look a little older I think, which works well since he is supposed to be a middle-age/old man. Sort of. XD



This was the best picture I could get of it, my camera died after this one and the back-up batteries I brought with me were dead -__-

I dunno, Torren, I kinda like Serien's light faceup, and his eyes are just beautiful!

 

Ingie: I really like Serien with a light faceup too, but the more I look at him right now, it just looks unfinished, like i forgot to give his eyes any definition ^^; When i redo him, I dont wanna do too much or anything too dark, just a bit more shading on his eyelids, maybe a touch more color to his brows and lashes. Also should do his magestains o_O; I just realized i never did that XD He's supposed to have blue marks on his ears. Whoops. *fail*

....i should prolly also smooth out his ears a bit more while i'm at it XD; ...whenever i get around to it. lolz.
