Hi, I'm new to Den of Angels and I thought I'd start out by sharing one of my favorite photos of my MNF Miyu Arabella Elizabeth. I don't know how this all works completely, but I'm just so happy to be able to share my love of Minifees and dolls in general. Arabella is a natural skin with an active-line body. She's posing with an orchid of mine~



Hope you like her. if you don't, then she might not leave you any money under your pillow the next time you lose a tooth!
Just kidding... you don't have to like her, but it would be a nice boost to her self-esteem.

 

Lol~ So yeah. I've been sewing pretty much all day, and I've managed to come up with 2 shirts, 1 pair of leggings, and a hat.

And of course, since I don't yet have my Ryeon (I will finally be able to pay for her in the next 2 days...friggin bank...) I have my poor Andrew as the model...like usual. Lol It's kind of silly, but after I made the hat, I was picturing him as a girl. Girls are just so much more fun to sew for~!

Anyway, here's what I made, minus one of the shirts (they go better with the leggings than this one).

She's actually one of the elfy Shus that lives with me, and you are so right, IngieBee: they come with personality already installed. Hrm, cheerleadery, shoe-stealingy names - how about Faith, Prudence, Shawna, Kristin, Summer, or Brittany? (Yes, these were all cheerleaders in my high school...a few years back.)

Non-elfy Shushu this time, Kyouko. The one responsible for keeping the rest of MNF Central on their best behavior.

Honestly, i'm not a fan of girl chiwoo. For some reason the face just doesnt seem to work. Girly, yes. Girl? not so much, like most of the boy molds for me. I'd LOVE to see someone pull it off though!

("proper" is in quotes cause Serien doesnt have wings. he just seemed the best able to show them off after i'd made them when i did XD
My elfy chiwoo does not need wings, which is a shame since they worked so well on him. Wings are so much easier to handle and work with in mini or tiny dolls. but noooo i've got BIG boys with wings. go figure XD )

 

Anyone have any suggestions for deep green glass eyes?
I was looking at the ones on Mint On Card but its a bit hard to know what the exact color is.

aaand yes, they are real feathers. The kind you get in packages at craft stores. XD It irked me at first that i was working with real feathers, but they just look sooooooo goooood~ I just need more variation. And like, more than just grey and brown for type/color choices XD;

Nana- XP Ahh...well if you think they're better to restring than the dollzone bodies, I may have to give it a try, since I found that so easy. (I am mainly afraid of the neck joint). Lol I love eyelashes, especially my Seorins', but I'm so afraid of loosing his stock eyelashes for some reason (even though I have volks eyelashes in the same color?? My fears make no sense XD). But I'll have to try water on a paper towel or a regular towel then. Lol I rarely ever do dolly maintenance as far as cleaning and such. xD I mean this will be his first cleaning since living with me. :P

And for anyone else with input: Doll bodies (unstrung) in water? Yay, nay? Or just a rub down with a Mr. Clean magic eraser (without fear of losing body blushing, since my guy's already came off lonnggg ago XD)

I would reglue the fingers, but I gotta crawl around on my knees again to see if I can find the 2nd finger. Tomorrow I'll more than likely just show my mom the damage, throw in some tears, and ask to borrow enough money to buy him #1 hands from Denver Doll...so until now he's stuck with his girly #4s.

Okay I have an odd question and no idea where to ask so I'll ask here - would Souldoll head go on a Fairyland body? I love one of their heads but I really want a Fairyland body and I hear the resin match is good but they say that the head only fits their new general body, whatever that means. So it's a bit worrying whether it would even go on the body or not. Hopefully someone here can shed some light to this.

Gosh, I dunno, I mean, I'm sure after taking the neck piece off the Fairyland body, you could put the head on, but will the neck look short? will the holes be basically the same size? Actually, I think chances are it would fit perfect, as I did get another body for my MNF head, stuck a neck piece on it, and it didn't elongate the head as the neck piece fits deep into the MNF head and becomes kind of like part of the head if that makes sense...

Dang, animemadie, Evee has a great wardrobe doesn't she? I need more clothes!!!

They're Everpurples, the older style (the ones now called the B-eyes on their site) in color 033. I have a huge weakness for eyes in this shade range and thus several of my dolls have variations on the same blue-green color. EP photograph wonderfully!

It seems like there are sculpts that get /all/ the love, what about some of the less-popular ones? I'll start with my Marcia, Mitsuki. I really adore the Marcia face and the pouty lips, she's deliciously disdainful.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't. The resin match is pretty good, I have a MNF head on a Souldoll double body. A MNF body, like a Delf body, can be strung without the neckpiece if one has an appropriately-sized S-hook. The size of the neckhole of the Souldoll head will partially determine how in proportion a Souldoll head would look on a MNF body. You might post in the Souldoll discussion to see if someone could measure for you and then compare that measurement to the circumference of a MNF neck. Or post in the pictures forum to see if anyone can put one together to show you.

Thanks! Those are 14mm Gumdrops in her (True Olive is the color). Marcias might be able to wear 16mm if they are curved just right (I'm pretty OCD about gapping or the eyes not fitting perfectly flush in the wells, but I know not everyone is as obsessive as me ); for me I like the look I get with the larger whites, so most of my Minifee are in 12mm or 14mm.

 

ahhh I love that new thread smell! to celebrate I now share my spicy wolf Sandalio, whose hair and clothes JUST arrived!

 

Yeah, the a la carte faceups do look like the full-set faceups. It won't be exactly the same, of course, but pretty darned close!

See, I love my girl's faceup (who I've decided to name Isabelle Rue) but her eyebrows are grey. Which looks fine, just seems a little strange to me as a default faceup.

I've been wavering to and fro trying to decide whether I wanted to get him or not ever since FL released him as a full set last year. My first doll was a MSD sized one and I ended up selling him as his size didn't work for me...
HOWEVER, after lurking in the MNF threads and seeing all the pretty photos you guys have posted, I've decided to give MSD size a second chance!

I can't wait to get my hands on my boy and mess around with his joints *is a sucker for dolls with good poseability*
