Minifee MNF Discussion thread Part 4

LOL, I said "just one" for a day or so, then decided she needed someone to interact with, and three would be more interesting. So JUST Riddick, Crow, and Finn. No more. But then I realized Crow couldn't be a Shiwoo, but I still wanted a Shiwoo... so Kale came along. Then the marketplace started offering unbeatable deals and more characters started popping up...

I just won't set a number anymore!

"Threadhomies" is my new favorite word, I think.

 

I got the A-line body. But I got a resinsoul body for my floating head. I figured they could share the A-line if I want to take special pictures, but really, I think my Dark Elf Soo will stay on the ResinSoul body. I just hope I can get the resin to match up ok I don't want floating heads, and to me, a so-so body is better than no body. The resinsoul body is cute too, and tiny, so I am hoping it'll fit more Tyler Wentworth clothing. And if I get an El in the future, he'll be her boyfriend, and she'll be a bit more petite than an A-line would be, I think?? I hope I like bigger boys for the girls

I just love the B-Line Torso.When I got my Boy (who is an SD) I wanted to get a 72cm (But I got the 64cm) and be the boyfriend of my 55cm girl.So I know what cha sayin!

 

*runs around, to amuse herself* Wheee.... I totally need to re-learn to sew, and stuff. Hmn.

LOL, that's the part I like LEAST! Not the sculpting which is beautiful, but the lack of flexibility is really annoying - it's my first one that can't slouch, even my "cheap" bodies can do that. Single jointed arms can be just like double jointed ones with simple wiring, but torsos kind of are what they are. I'm really glad to have my B-line, so Kestrel can have a body permanently, but eventually I'm replacing it with the Normal A-line one.

Even with it's annoyances, the B-line Minifee is one of the nicest sculpts I've seen, the detail in the arms, especially is gorgeous.

 

I do have to agree with the posts on the previous page, this thread seriously has some of the nicest people on this forum, in my opinion anyway

I agree completely with the talk on Bline vs Aline, at least for males. Dei (shiwoo) is on an a-line and he just has such expressive poses. Sarin (e.shiwoo) is on the B line, and while it looks nice, there's only so much you can do with a straight back.
Now that said, it works for me since Sarin is kind of proper with how he dresses and acts, but heaven forbid I try and make him sit lol

 

Evee sits quite well actually.The only reason I got the B-Line was because to get the A-Line body,or any MNF at all,was practically impossible.And I'd like to get the MNF Des A-Line so I can have A-Line and B-Line,but I think I'd prefer to spoil Evee instead.

 

here's the best i have of my shushu from the top. her nose isn't really all that pointy imo.

 

animemadie - I don't know about Volks and silicone rings, but one of my big boys has those silicone rings in his wrist and shoulder joints. His hands pose extremely well, but I've noticed that every now and then the rings try to dissappear inside his arms. And its really difficult to try to get them out.

IngieBee - One of my boys has the resinsoul body too, and with the MNF neckpiece his head sits nicely on the neck.

Elzamine - I have to agree with you, MNF people are lovely. B-line MNFs are like ballerinas, they really now how to keep their backs straight!

All of my MNFs have a B-line body, but I'm thinking of buying Violet, my new boy, the A-line normal body. I won't be changing any of the others to A-lines though, once the B-lines get loose you can do wonders with them.

Yes, I am crossing my fingers that the RS body will be of a newer batch of resin which I understand is not so pink as it was earlier this year. The Sprite I just received (a birthday present to my daughter) was an in-stock item at DDE, and hopefully represents the resin made earlier this year because it's very pink. Even so it's pink, it's still a lovely flesh color, not ugly in any way, just doesn't match my DES head whatsoever! I did order a neck piece too, so I hope to have nice flexibility of the head as if she were on a minifee body

I think in about 10 more days I should be able to pay the dolls off! I sure hope so! I'll also have a pair of jeans for my IH Ryan, and together with the girls, I hope to take some lovely pictures!!! (watch it rain when everything is finally home, LOL)

Don't quite have a full MNF yet (I have two heads...) but even so I wanted to share my brand new, just faceupped Scar Breakaway, cause he looks so good!

You'll do fine. If you don't like a faceup or blushing that you do, you can always wipe it and just try again.

I hope so, and I plan on practicing face ups on the sleeping face. Even if that will eventually be modded into another doll's head

 

's a good plan. Practice makes perfect. It took... hell I lost count of how many times I re-did Leilahni's face before I got to the one I've got on her now o.o

Just to get in on this "one doll" bit, I NEVER said it! I know myself too well to begin with to have even said anything like that. I started off saying I want about 8 but will probably end up with between 12-15.
So far I have 6, 2 of which were unplanned. I also "plan" to have more "unplanned" dolls! just because I luff dem

I don't see Minifees on the Luts site as an option anymore. Did I miss them, or are mnfs really gone? Judging by the lack of sadness of the thread, I'd say I missed them. A good search of the site only turned up two limiteds and some shoes.

Midir is really easy to miss. Since I've started his "heavy" mods the only reason he sees a camera is because the camera can see things wrong with his mods that my eyes miss. I think he has a total of two pictures posted after his mods have been started.

This one is a couple days after March 28, 2009, I have since re-removed his mouth because his quizzical smile wasn't working for me anymore(because the camera didn't see it the way I saw it, and I want him to be very photogenic). LOL, Midir is the doll who suffers most from my occasional boredom, lately I've been calling him "Guinepig".

To be honest, my art skills didn't really help me when I tried to do face-ups. Never mind that most of my skills are to do with moving pictures, but working with it felt more like make-up (which I don't wear) than painting. Plus, long as you have plenty of sealant and plenty of Windsor/Newton cleaner, you can just keep doing faces over and over until you get one you like ^^

Though ... eyelashes ..... I hate putting those in. I don't like my girl NOT having eyelashes, and I love the latest set she's had in, but the glue made a mess when I was trying to put them in, so they're really funny looking. *sigh* I need to run down and buy more. Someone needs to invent an eyelash holder for the dolls. Something that keeps them in place while you try to put them in, and doesn't let that sticky stuff, that both the human lashes and the doll lashes have on them for transport, stick to your application tool.

No, I just really like long elf ears. My husband plays WoW and he's shown me the blood elves, they do look pretty cool.

I had done a PukiPuki flora mod with long elf ears too and everyone thought she looked like a bloodelf (or Yoda, lol), but the person who bought her hasn't posted anything about her, sometimes it makes me wish I had kept her.

 

Aw, a Mrs. Yoda, how cute !! LOL Oh well... you can always do it again I still plan on turning one of my dolls, a Puki or Brownie, into a gnome, LOL. My daughter wants one too It's so much fun

There was a mystery customs notice arrived today.. even the post office are confused.. it appears it went missing in the post.. hence the reason I missed my Woosoo.
