wow-- the winter event is near huh?!

any speculations about what you guys think it is? girl? boy? elf? human? 0.0

 

I'm going to hope for an elf XD a tanned elf....but that's just cause I'm bias for dolls with tanned skin and pointed ears

 

Well, if they choose to have a winter event I would guess it WON'T be another scar head. Two is more than enough, I think! Maybe another elf based on one of the sculpts that's not been elf-eared yet, or on a Delf head they've not minifeed yet? Or possibly a new sculpt entirely. I'm hoping it's something that doesn't appeal to me, actually. I've got enough heads here for the moment and not enough money to go placing more big orders! Watch it be something I'll have to have - like a MNF Yder, Breakaway, or dreaming El.

 

I hope it's not another Juri. The only Juri I really liked was the one that looked like Moon, (Juri B from 2007) and if they release that mold I'd rather them just release Moon. Exactly like he is and no chubby cheeks. I love his cheekbones and muscles around his mouth. but on the other hand, if it is a Juri then I'll be safe. . . hmm.

If this happens, I'm screwed. X3 I already want a Miyu and Eliya, so an elf Miyu will just push me over the edge!

I think an elf Miyu would be absolutely adorable o.o; Granted, I doubt I'd be ordering anything in he case of a winter event- I have christmas presents to buy XP

 

I kinda hope it's something small, considering the busy year it's been for Fairyland. I would like to see some vamp elves personally, so my VE Woosoo can have a big brother Tan would be nice, but I think choco MNFs will be further down the road if ever.

 

I don't think they would release a tanned gift head unless they were going to go ahead and release a tan line. Otherwise, what would be the point of having a tan head but no tan body to go with it? >.<

 

@SqueekoftheNorth I agree. Its more wishful thinking, but I too dont think they will eiter unfortunately T___T But Elf/Vampire Miyu = the death of me hehehe

 

Agreed, especially since it seems like their tan is much darker than most others, and it's nearly impossible to find a tan match without tons of blushing even when they're similar shades.

I'm thinking it'll be similar to the autumn event, heads and such at different levels. They might debut and SELL limited tan mnf at some point, but it won't be the event gift items I bet.

 

I wouldn't be surprised (rather, quite delighted) that if FL did decide to go through with a Tan MNF line that they would release, as you've said, some limiteds to go along with them, and/or possibly do a gift event at that time as well. Sort of like what they did when they opened the Japan store, have a free head for like the first fifty to a hundred people who order a Tan get a free Tan gift head with it.

 

I'm thinking down the line, if they don't release a tan, or it's not a shade I'm after, I may have to dye a NS. I've got at least one character who would like to be doll-ized who is a bit darker than the others.

 

I've been rather tempted to try that myself. There's a character that I'd love to bring to doll form, but he would have to be tan, no but's about it. But I wonder just how well the dye would set. Like, would it wear off in the joints after a while? The character that I'd have doesn't wear a lot of clothes so would have to show himself off...

 

That would be so awesome if FL made a tan mnf..I'd have to sell my organs to order her along with Rheia...LOL!

I think the dyes usually hold really well, at least for what i've seen. But, I haven't tried it myself. Perhaps I will give my experiment head a dip.

As far is dyeing go, I've thought about it...but too nervous to do it myself :p

Heh, I used to say that it would be the three MNF and that was it. Now that's expanded to four... and if ever I got the chance, I could easily see it going to five or even six. For me, that's too many! O.o

Indeed. I use the sleeping Carl head I bought with Aidara as my experiment head. It's looking very creepy right now, I'm sure dying half of it is all it needs XD

what has the "track" record been for the winter event usually? if i remember correctly usually elf/vampire figures no? I could totally be wrong ont his ^__^;;

 

mmmm tan mnfs *wishes* I've seen a tan Soo in person at meets, and the tan really is pretty. If they released tan elves, i'd be screwed and scrounging for money, even though i'd really prefer a lighter tan. I've actually considered dying one myself as well. (That a-line body in a pretty golden tan? yum much? ) I've wanted a tan VE woosoo since they RELEASED VE woosoo. XD;

I doubt they'll do tan for the winter event though. Maybe they'll do another feeple event head, since they've been doing mnf for a litle while now, they havent done much with the feeple line. While i'm into minis more, i wouldnt mind seeing another pretty feeple head =] (my only sd boy is the FL nanuri. I'm biased. XD)

nah the VE was for halloween last year... for winter they released luka and rheia i think? i don't remember for sure though.

 

I play wow for a couple hours and I've got pages to catch up! Really threadhomies *nominates word for word-of-the-year* you guys are lightening. On fire! No, but, for serious. I've seen one tan MNF in real life. A Lishe. I had a bad case of the grabby hands cause of it, but I contained myself. *so proud*

And talking about Lishes. I wish mine was here. Her and Nora have been in the Netherlands since 1PM on Friday, but no tracking update since. Secretly I'm hoping they'll arrive tomorrow, with customs having missed them. I wouldn't be able to study cause of new dollies, but it's all for the Greater Good, right? Right?!

Readin the thread, but got nothin to say except pine for my girl, which is so boring for everyone If there is another Tan, I hope it's NOT Lishe, even though I think she was the prettiest tan ever made. But I did just get a Lishe with a sleeping head that will eventually be modded to be another open eyed doll... so I just don't need another. However, I would LOVE a tan doll. So one of the others would be lovely!

Were Lishe and El (whom I read on the Luts site are supposed to be brother and sister) both released as tan together? Probably because they're supposed to be bro an sis? And reiterating the question somewhere earlier this morning, was it Luts that released the tans or has Fairyland released tan MNF's? Thanks

 

for those talking about juri...usually the juri sculpt is an "original" that has elf ears (only exception i've seen where it closely resembles an existing normal doll is 2007 where the a head really looked like a dreaming elf moon). typically the juri is advertised on a female body while the human/vamp heads of the nanuri event in the summers are usually advertised on male bodies.

that being said, i do hope that they do a winter event. i really love the juris they've put out (have all but two). i think that, if they decide to forgo the winter event this year, they'll probably have one pop up in february or so as a spring or new years event. *goes back to anxiously awaiting her new minifees*

eta: the tan minifees were released while luts was selling them on behalf of fairyland.

 

so the winter events are usually in februrary?! OH MAN! Thats great news! Mwa ha ha *evillaughs all the better!! I should be all saved up by then!! Thank you fenris, that really helps me re-evaluate things out!

 

the winter event normally starts in december and runs into the start of january, pakouchan. i was saying that, if they don't do the winter event, maybe they'll do one in february. sorry for the confusion.

my guess is early january this year! with pushing the summer event into autumn, i'm not expecting them to do an event in december (though i'd be willing to be surprised! hehe), but i doubt they'll push the winter event back into spring, since then they'd start pushing all of their events back probably

 

I agree mendokusai! I think they'll either push back the winter event, but not enough for it to be a spring event and be too close to the summer one; or they'll skip it and have an earlier summer event.

They have really been doing releases and events right on top of one another for most of the year, and people get antsy if things get backed up too much, so I really like that they seem to pay close attention and try not to overstretch themselves. Soom has gotten away with having 6-month waits for special detailed limiteds, but for most other companies if the wait gets too long people freak out and start canceling orders. I've seen it happen with Dollzone last spring. Bobobie's backed up so much right now DDE won't even order any more until they catch up, I don't remember if they did that with DZ but I remember they were unhappy about the waits since they have to deal with all the anxious people who ordered from them. Soom has shortened their wait times, too, so I know they must have been feeling fallout as well.

 

I got some Yay! and some Nay? today.....

First, I started my new job today!!! And it was awesome!!! Its in an artist-whatever-its-called-store (Omer deSerre) and I got some pretty good discounts from working there :ninja:
And the jobs really great and not so hard so its even better >w<

Second... in the nay part..... my sister told me tonight that she decided not to buy any BJD.... I dont know for how much time... but I think shes going to wait for maybe her last year of school... or after =P
She says she doesnt wait to use the money for that and she doesn't have any time xP

I'm ok with it... but its sad she wont order with me.... Anyway... now I got to put my money together and figure out how to order mah MNF!!! D<
I made a sort-of layaway thing with her so I could buy xP But since she isnt buying.... I have to fidure out a way to do it without her xP

 

Goodness..I certainly don't want FL to overextend themselves. I'm more than happy to wait as I'm still saving up anyway. I'd love to put an order in next month but as long as it sometime around my birthday that's fine too.

 

I'm with Pakou on this one, in HOPING that the event is in Feb. I'll have some funds coming in then too. Hey, where can I go to look at past event offerings? Anywhere? I'm only familiar with the BreakawayScar event because I'm still so new. So I don't have a clue what to even think of in expectation of the next event, I'm just listening to you guys. But it would be nice if it came along while I had monies so I could at least have the option of throwing some thought at it.

Heh, I used to play WoW, but I never managed to max out or even get that far with the game. It sucks when you can only play certain times, but you've got friends who'll be on for hours on end and thus pass you by in level to the point that you can't possibly party together realistically. I actually created my boy Harker as a Paladin Blood Elf at one point, was supposed to let him RP with a friend, but that never panned out sadly. Anyway!

I've been following the tracking for my Scar Breakaway head, and he's in the country at least, but being held hostage by customs. They must have me flagged down there or something.

 

Heh, all you guys who think/thought you could have one doll are silly silly sweethearts. I knew as soon as I decided to delve into BJDs that it would never be just one... Of course at the time I was planning on two. Which means I wasn't much more realistic myself!

i think one of the best things about not having alot of dolls, is that i know that you all have beautiful mnfs that i can drool over *evillaugh* plus its amazing in helping me to really come together about what i think i might want my dollie to look like in the end ya know? its awesome seeing what all the different molds look like when people show pictures of different wigs and different eyes. i honestly think that this thread has some of the nicest people in it = D
