WOW!!!! Diana, what # hands are those on your Lishe? I like them a lot. I just LOVE every single pose in the first link! That is just UNBELIEVABLE! Now I really have my heart set on two girls. I'll be ordering mine in October. Thank you so much for showing me those.

Yaay, yah I want pictures (always, LOL). I love Woosoo in either form really. I got Lishe because, well I love her too, but also I thought she'd be cutest with my IH Ryan. However, I do want a Luka and a Woosoo some day, plus a Ruth now (gosh that smile did get to me!) an El (love his mouth and chin) and a Karsh. I just need hubby to become a millionaire, then they'll be mine!

Oh, and DanceCat, The B-line also doesn't have the extra joint in the upper chest. This is a well designed joint that allows great arching of the back. And they did it, in my opinion, without distracting from the beauty of the body much (you can tell it's there, but still looks great!)

I do suspect ('cause I don't have a MNF yet) that the B-line is more stable in standing and poses ok in simple positions, as the more joints you have, the more you have to make sure everything lines up and doesn't collapse (though I haven't heard many complaints on this) It usually just means the strings need tightening though. FL has designed an excellent body there

 

For the A-line bodies do you guys suede or hot glue them to do those insane poses? My girl cannot do what your dollies do and shes an A-line. @__@

 

I didn't do anything with Ash Rose's body, it's amazing! Lyric's is good too, but Silver's body is annoying and I don't think that I would be able to do anything great with it :S
and Ray has the B-line body XD

edit, to do those pose(the stand on one leg ones) I basically do the pose I want with the hands and the other leg and then I try to balance the body by changing the position of the feet, I just keep changing it until it balancing, then wait a couple of seconds to make sure she doesn't fall

edit2, sometimes you have to change the position of the head and the arms to keep the body balanced, hope that made sense! XD

 

I haven't even hit day 5 of waiting and I'm already tired of it. *huff* I want my Karsh home now.

...and I don't blame you with the Ante. I've got a LittleFee size, and she's just... *happy sigh* ...I've also got a multihead ante, though I'm not sure what I"ll do with it. PukiFee, thankfully, haven't called out to me yet. But if Ante made it to puki or MNF or even Feeple size?

I had a hard time deciding if she should be Nora or Kadiri, as they have the same annoyed expression, but I decided on Nora. She'll have big red hair XD Basically, she doesn't talk unless she wants to say something (ie, she doesn't chatter or engage in niceties) and generally is not concerned with what other people think of her. On the plus side, she never complains and will willingly get hurt to help someone or do unpleasant chores. She also likes to drink

What do you have in mind for your Karsh and littlefee?

US citizens need not fear customs from Asia, at least not yet We have free trade agreements with many countries and it makes moving goods so much easier. I bet those countries that have import duties spend most of the income on the bureaucracy to process it all, LOL.

Amy, over the last four months or so, I have watched you go from having a sig banner with 3 dolls in it, to a banner with 14 and several more on the way home. XD That just struck me as funny and I wanted to point it out.

 

MeowMeow, customs are only a huge problem for those of us in Europe. I had to pay $100 to get my twins released.

 

hm mine aren't sueded at all, except for my hybrid. i definitely like having the torso joint sueded on the boys since they jerk to the side a lot. none of my girls are sueded though... it just takes a lot of patience sometimes depending on the pose you're doing, and it helps to have practiced a lot so you're more comfortable with how they move

The girls that stole my heart were ShuShu (I first saw her in a Haute Doll Magazine ad and she reminded me of my favorite Chrono Cross character, that's an RPG for Playstation).
Then I got to handle a Seorin with default faceup on a girl body at a meet up and fell head over heels so I want both of those girls.

I did start a thread asking to see Fairyland's skintones together because even though there is much to find on them here I'm not finding anything so far that can show me a comparison of the Normalskin and Whiteskin. So I don't know if I want one of each or what.

 

updated the FAQ a little today... added some pics to the a-line posing, and added a little "did you know?" thing about the difference between girl and boy woosoo vamps (thanks nana!)

please don't forget to PM keishi-chan with some shopping links for clothes, wigs, and shoes. places you like to shop, your opinion of the fit, and even pictures if you have them!

 

there is actually a thread in the pic requests asking for that specifically (it has been asked a lot), just search for "fairyland resin" and dig through all the posts. i've also started a page on the FAQ compiling pictures.

 

The FAQ looks good! Since you still need pics of eyes, I'll send you one of a Lishe with 14 mm eyes.

I'm considering that Starla. Most of my dolls are in whiteskin though so I'm just not quite sure. I've heard the Fairyland white is like paperwhite. Is that true? I've only seen NS in person. I will have to put the NSes with my dolls at the next local meet up.

 

you're welcome! most of the "comparisons" in the pic requests are in crappy lighting, so sadly i haven't compiled as many pics as i would like that genuinely/accurately show the colors.

the WS is white with a hint of cream, kind of... it's quite a bit different than NS but can add some really nice character!

i did see those, thank you! i didn't use them since it's technically luts vs fairyland, and i didn't want to include resin colors from other companies, just to avoid any future confusion.

also, i primarily want to use new pictures instead of old pictures, since fairyland's NS has changed slightly since last year (it's a little more pink than it used to be).

While they were technically two different companies, the resin was always CP's resin and the dolls (as far as I know) were sculpted and cast by CP. Luts styled the default faceups and clothing for the pictures, but they were primarily the retailer for the MNFs. (The Delfs are another sticky wicket entirely. )

yep, but the resin color they use now is different than the batch color back then, as i just said.

as far as considering it a different company, that's for purposes more along the lines of "do fairyland mnfs match luts mnfs?" for things like finding bodies and resin matches, which i don't want to get into with the FAQ cuz it's more suited for the pic requests. it's more of a thought pattern rather than going into luts distributing CP's sculpts. if i post pictures of mnfs back when they were distributed by luts, then eventually somebody will use that as an argument of why i should post comparisons using other companies too

 

Ironically, about that customs issue mentioned earlier... in Canada, it's cheaper to get things from Asia than it is to get them from the US. Most I've ever paid from Asia was $14 on customs, from the US, it was once $50!

When you blush the white, it really starts to look like NS. White kind of gives you the ability to make a doll look otherworldly, or just light skinned (though NS is a very light skin ;P) Anyway, I couldn't help but think it would be cool to have twins, one angel good and one devil bad, LOL Not sure which skin color would be which?? I would tend to turn the white skin goth style, and the NS sweet as flowers, LOL.

Can't go wrong with ShuShu, gosh, those twins in the FAQ are the prettiest things! Ugh!

I only didn't go with ShuShu because Lishe had what seemed like smaller eyes, which I thought would go better with my IH Ryan. The choice was so hard to make! Also, there are many Shushu's out there (lots of Lishe also) But that's kind of why my next doll would probably be a Luka or Woosoo, but by the time I can buy another doll, my choice will probably change again :P Every one of the sculptures are amazing!

 

haha, hakari and i are working on some twin characters... one is WS and the other is NS, and the WS one is the quiet and friendly twin while the NS is the spunky one

 

I know. I keep looking and going "Wha...? Where? How?!?!?!?" And my first, Riddick, just smirks at me. I'm blaming him. And I always point out that some of those are just heads! It's really the marketplace, though. One of my dolls was $145. One was $125 shipped complete with jeans, shirt, pajama pants, Vans shoes, eyes and wig. Most of the heads were $50 and under, even Finn's with her gorgeous faceup. Combine my lack of ability to turn down a good deal with the ease of changing MNF heads, and all the gorgeous options, and I have twice as many dolls as I ever thought I'd have.

On the plus side, once the ones I'm waiting on are here, I have 2 more major characters (one of whom could easily just be a Rheia head) and then I'm fairly settled. I'm really wanting to focus more on outfitting the ones I have and eventually getting bodies for the heads. I'm thinking I'll get my pirate captain with my tax return in the spring since he's the major missing piece, and then focus on clothes, photostories and saving for bodies.


I'm not sure when I'm going to get time to work on the no-longer-sleeping Woosoo again, but hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get it presentable. I had been thinking girl for it, but it really looks boyish to me blank, so who knows. I ought to just keep it a practice head, really. I have enough characters going on already!

And of course the second I typed that I thought of a possible character for it. It's really, really minor, though, so maybe not.

 

You're right Ingie. A friend of mine said the ShuShu's are too many also. I don't mind that. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in the Haute Doll magazine. I hadn't yet heard of Fairyland and actually it was a Luts ad. Of course I did not find any doll that looked like her on the Luts site. I was still pretty new to the BJD world at the time. But I eventually found her.

I like her because even as a blank sculpt she looks so happy. Usually I'm drawn to sad dolls (which is how Seorin affects me) but this one has a sparkle about her, even as a blank head, which I think is awesome.


I'm wondering because I initially thought to get ShuShu in WS, she's my outgoing personality although she prefers to be left alone to play with her own dolls. And I thought get Seorin in NS because the brown toned faceup looks awesome on the NS, she's going to be my shy, withdrawn sister but I thought goth styles would better fit her personality, which is what has me stuck because usually goth goes better with WS. Both are of Fairy/Vampire descent.

 

LOL, well it's my opinion that popular dolls are popular for a reason (usually the prettiest all round best, LOL) Lishe is also very popular, but I'm getting her anyway 'cause she is beautiful. But the ultimate real problem is that all of them are beautiful! LOL. It would be nice if I could match a personality or character in my head to a sculpt, but for me, the character comes out AFTER I get my doll and he/she gets clothing and a facup, if it's not already there. Then I get to know them, LOL. Or like my only MNF, my floating head DES who refuses to talk to me until she has her own body. All she does is try to bite my fingers off when she gets half the chance ('cause I bought an IH Ryan when that money was supposed to be for her! LOL) She has her body sharing Lishe on layaway now though :P So I hope she will eventually forgive me and realize she won't be going anywhere, so she might as well live with me in peace

@mendo The faq is looking great! Are you coding from scratch or using a builder? I noticed a few things as far as code goes that you might want to look at. The page title in the header just says "hushed.org"; I'd suggest changing it to mention that its the MNF FAQ page. Also, on the stylesheet, do you have alternate fonts listed after Script MT Bold? I don't have it and it defaults to my browser settings (times new roman, in my case). Making a list of similar fonts will help the site look more like you want it to even if the user doesn't have that specific font.

it'll go to another font (edwardian script ITC) and then just times new roman :/ cuz nothing would look good anyways and i couldn't find anything that would look readable. but keishi found a site where you can download script MT bold for free:

there's a script where you can have it where it reads the font file instead of somebody needing it on their computer, but i was grumpy and didn't want to dig for it

Well, I know Karsh is an elf assasin according to FL, but here he is going to be a werewolf. It seems the majority of my males already are so he's joining the pack. Still working on his name and where he fits in. I ordered that new DollHeart thunder gray wig for him and I've got a couple sets of eyes coming so I will decide on those when he gets here and I can test them out. He's going to have a very protective/bodyguard like nature- sort of drawing off his elf assasin storyline. He's going to get himself tangled up badly with the Woosoo Vamp girl I have coming. Leaning towards calling him Faolan.

My LTF is just going to be a cute little, well, something. LOL Haven't decided yet on fairy or whatnot. Too cute to be a demon or shapeshifter, you know!

 

I think that if I was to get a MSD-sized boy doll, it'd probably be Karsh, despite the ears. Assuming I don't like the Breakaway event head once I get it... I spent the whole day yesterday looking at 45cm male BJD dolls and didn't find ANY I liked anywhere. X_x I feel so picky! None of the male dolls I found have the posability of the A-Line Boy bodies, and any of the ones that were close had really immature looking heads. *flail*

Soooo frustrating!

 

LOL! Right now I can't get her, but I hope by Christmas or maybe after. So far I haven't seen any other dolls that I want as much as her. Rheia seems like she can be many dolls in one for me.

Originally I wanted a tan skinned girl, but they're so expensive...
Rheia is too, but I can save up for her easier than a limited tan doll.

 

Shushu is a really special sculpt. I'm biased of course. I think she's really versatile and easily adapts to any character or story.

 

sighs, shushu is very lovely, I like miyu first and foremost (and my 1st mnf is a miyu! ) but Shushus had been growing on me tons, especially after looking at this thread, there are soo many pretty shushu and karsh on this thread that is sooo dangerous to my pockets! >__<

 

printenna - Be aware that Minifées will steal your heart, and soon you'll notice that you don't only have a Miyu and Shushu but many others...

 

*giggles* Can I confess that while I do have a miyu head, I am waiting on her body and normal head from fairyland, we are also looking at marketplace for her sister.. so yes, they steal my heart then my money! LOLOL!

Okay. That was bizarre. I just woke up from a strange, strange dream that i was hosting a meet at my house (which would likely never happen) and i had a whole bunch of people over and someone had a Karsh head that i couldnt stop oggling. he was perfectly modded (sleeping to open eyed) and had this gorgeous faceup and all i wanted to do was try out different eyes and wigs on him. then everyone packed up to an extent, but was still hanging around, so i decided i wanted to play with him again but i couldnt find him, and i was upset because i really wanted to try out different looks so i could figure out if i really wanted him....but then i woke up XD;

I have strange dreams.

But now i really want Karsh. >>;;
