aww they're cute i love harker's shirt!

 

i was just wondering about the use of different size eyes in the mnf's. i've heard some people say that they use one size less then the site says. so, i would that mean the vamp elf woosoo would look good in 12mm, because the site says 14mm, or would the 14mm look better? i dont know how many people currently have this mold, but pictures would be nice, if not i'll just experiment when i buy one O.o

 

I was just about to ask a similar question as Eudoxia and the post showed up when I reloaded...

Anyway, I was going to ask where I can get 16mm glass or urethane eyes (for a Miyu) that won't leave any gaps or spaces. I currently have 16mm EverPurple eyes and although they look great and I don't usually notice it, when I look at my doll from certain angles, I see it more. I do like the look of a larger iris and pupil so I don't think I'd want to go smaller than what I have...

 

it depends on what sort of look you want. bigger eyes (the eyes they're shipped with) will give a more immature look. smaller eyes will look more mature... glass eyes are slightly bigger and fill their eyewells better than acrylics if you're going for smaller eyes.

 

I thought the shots were lovely. I was hoping perhaps you might consider granting a small boon ... I was quite tempted to buy that polka dot dress from HDS, could you perhaps take a picture of her standing with it on? I would love to see how it drapes. I would appreciate it

Eudoxia - As mendokusai allready pointed out the eye size depends on how old you dollie will be. Another question is the material of the eyes... I prefer glass eyes, they give a realistic shine in photos, but then again acrylic and silicone eyes have more realistic colours.

Here's a photo of Yvian with his new 14 mm silicone eyes (Soom 'Mondosha'). Pretty, but the eyes collect a lot of dust! I wanted to buy light green glass eyes, but couldn't find just the right colour so I had to choose these silicone eyes instead. They are actually a bit darker, but since my camera chose again to use flash...

The lighting here is horrid today, so they're not the best. But I will be taking plenty of photos when the weather improves If the photos are too big and are busting monitors, please let me know and I'll resize them

 

akaStarla, They're beautiful! I love the second! Is she Ophelia? Or Tigerlily? Her face is so beautiful at any rate! I looove her eyeshadow Her wig really compliments the face-up! (or maybe it's the other way around? Either way)

The first one is very cute too! She looks very self assured and confident to me! ^^

 

Thanks The second one is Ophelia (I put their names on the photos ) - I sent the wigs off with them so that Silvia could use them for reference when painting.

Tigerlily is the eldest and more sociable than her younger twin - I'm glad you got that from her photo. I love how Silvia managed to capture their characters so well.

Holy goodness they're beautiful! How on earth did she make Tigerlily so smiley? I can't wait to see more photos of those faceups, Silvia did a great job with them. I'm so glad they turned out how you wanted them to.

 

They're BFFs! At least, so long as Hopper deems it so, since she loves teasing Harker. I think it's a hobby of hers at this point...
Anyway, absolutely you may ask; it's from Her Delicate Strength. I actually purchased it second hand, which was lucky, because I had wanted the very same thing all along.

Thanks you. Harker's shirt is another Her Delicate Strength purchase... I think I do all my MNF shopping there, the outfits just look so much like real clothing (ie, no snaps at the back, which I find makes it easier to take pictures with)

I'd be happy to take more photos if you'd like... though, when you saw SSW (Softly She Walks?) I'm a little confused. As I was just telling Allstar, it's a Her Delicate Strength item. Would you still like me to take photos?

mendokusai and Immarre thanks for the info it really helps^^ so if i decide to go with the acrylics would it be better to go with the bigger size, so there's no gaps??

yeah... i have silicone for a few of mine and i love the colors but i miss having a higher dome to really get some nice light reflections, also it's annoying to have to clean them so often. depending on the acrylics you go with, sometimes they will have better shine than some glass brands. dollmore's acrylics are crazy shiny!

pretty much... though if you're looking at dollmore acrylics it's hard to say. i got a pair of 16mm dollmore acrylics and they are HUGE and don't fit in my miyu's head at all unless she's staring directly forward, and the 14mm are too small and leave gaps. makes me sad because they are gorgeous eyes i think 14mm glass would fit best, or 16mm acrylics from another company.

yep, they're 14mm dollmore acrylics. they are pretty gappy though (but it helps add to her... unhingedness?). i don't really have any good pictures of the gaps without digging for a while, but here is one that kind of shows:

And I think these are 12mm even though they said 14mm when I ordered them but are a lot smaller than any of the 14mm eyes that I have.

Miss Deep are your 14mm eyes acrylic or glass?? because they fit nicely :] and your mnf rheia is beautiful, i love her face up, mainly her lips.
mendokusai yeah, the eyes do fit brodwyn's character, i do see what you mean about the gaps but its not entirely noticeable :]

 

Oops, I forgot to mention that all of the eyes are glass eyes.

but what combo should I go for.
I want big bust, but which legs, cutie or model, which is easier to find clothes? ^__-
help in enabling is greatly appreciated! LOL! I have a sleeping miyu head that is off for repaint, but no A-line body yet! so plotting right now! :P

printenna if you need them Diana92 posted some comparison pictures a few pages back. also i don't think there'd be much of a difference in pant sizes for them, but im not completely sure. anyways i agree with akaStarla, the cutie legs would probably look better than the model legs with the large bust. :3

Kittywolf13, my only advice would be that I did a tutorial on how to restring MNF A-line bodies... but I skipped over the arms since they're the same as restringing arms in all my other dolls. I'll grab the link in a minute

How to Restring a MNF A-Line Girl Body

Hope that helps at least some! Definitely restring from the neck to the feet, so much easier that way! Unstring from the feet up too, but it seems you've already done that much?

Edit: You probably shouldn't need extra elastic. I'd say maybe try just stretching out her own before changing the length too. Try pulling her arms out of their sockets a bit, or bend her arms as much as they'll bend and leave her that way for a day and overnight.

Sorry it took me a bit to take these... and sorry for them being blurry (my camera must be in love with the tripod or something, because it refuses to take clear pictures without it, and its... rather upsetting.)

 

Printenna - Dollies with B-line bodies pose very nicely, eventhough the A-line are more flexible. All my dolls have B-line bodies and I'm very satisfied with their posing abilities.

I just got a new wig in the mail today from CherishDoll - I thought I'd post a couple pictures of it on my doll because I've never really seen many here on DoA. I love it because it's long and puffy

 

I got Calder Gordon's little sister in today (KDF Bory girl), so I took both out for pictures ♪ Hope no one minds, but I wanted to share my favourite two here, since I don't take pictures of any of my dolls often enough, let alone my MNF





I totally need to take Kraille (karsh boy) and Shirun (juri boy) out for photos, even if Shirun doesn't have his proper clothes yet. I just realized those two poor boys haven't had proper photoshoots yet @_@

 

Havent poked in here in a few days ^^;;

So, meets are dangerous things for me. I spend lots of money, when i get a chance to poke at the eye table. Best. Things. Ever. @_@ Its so great to be able to just see all the colors and sizes and types and try lots! Mana finally has proper eyes because of this =D

I've had her for almost a year now, and i could never figure out what color eyes to get for her. She's tried countless pairs of the acrylics i've got lying around, i've gotten two pairs of Luts glass eyes for her, (the blue blind eyes which worked wonderfully, but aren't Mana, and these pink ones that made her look angry/evil XD;; )and i can't belive i overlooked a certain color i practically already HAD. Serien's, only a little darker.

I"M SO IN LOVE. They somehow manage to match the three wigs i gnereally use for her. ALL THREE. including the BLUE. XD



Lyria also got gorgeous green eyes, but i don't have any pics of her yet, since Mana's still on the body and all. XD; She'll get her pictures soon ^^

 

The twins found it all too much today and spent the afternoon lounging on my spare bed.



My Mum pointed out that they were showing off their bellies - I told her that it made me feel hot seeing them wearing lots of clothes!

I have 2 MNF and am saving for my next one. Once i got my hands on a one i knew it was love!

I received a MNF El last week. He's a long way from looking as he should, but it's going to be a while before i have the money and time to sink into making him right.

I had wanted him to look similar to Ethan from YWAM, but with black hair and green eyes.
but i keep looking at him and wondering if I can make this work. even with a new face up and the proper wig and clothes.

Dose anyone already own a suit for their MNF? I want to buy him one but im so scared it won't fit, as the girl i have fit everything so weird. >.< And yea the one i like it nearly 100, which is ok, but i don't want to pay that much and find out it doesn't fit.

Kraille's eyes finally are in! While he usually keeps them nearly-closed because they're so oddly coloured (not only impossible for humans, but extremely rare in Forest Guardians...), he does sometimes open them when he's serious.

With these eyes he looks perpetually surprised, unless I'm lucky with the camera angle XD I don't give him nearly enough photo time.

 

Are you as impatient as me waiting for the summer event?? maybe new minifees... *__*
