Minifee MNF Discussion thread Part 2

Well, I have a mnf boy so I can't speak for the girls...but...I have to say, of all the mini's I've handled, he's by far the most delicate and realistically proportioned. The sculpt is just gorgeous to me. I know a lot of people say they look like munchkins, but I think that's what makes them appealing to me, they genuinely do look like tiny people! lol

The waist joint I actually find helps the balance issue, if you can't get them to stand, it's invariably cos the waist joint's not sitting at the right angle. I think that's the main difference between them and other MSD's (in my experience anyway), you have to pose them realistically, in other words, if it's a pose that you couldn't do yourself, the doll isn't gonna either! hehe

Out of the box, they're pretty kicky, but a week or so of wearing the elastic in sorts that right out. I've not sueded or wired and had no need to, Trys can stand on one foot and do all manner of acrobatics without any assistance. His balance is perfect and has been right out of the box so all in all, no complaints from me!

 

I like the mnf girl body, the breasts are a bit weird, but look fine when clothed(even when just wareing a bikinitop/bra) so unless you would leave her topless most of the time the breasts don't look to weird

I have no problem getting my girl to stand(I even got her to stand steady in a moving train with heels on), but she does lean back a bit when seated(though she can sit somewhat straight too, just not when you plop her down)

the low waistjoint is pretty much useless, I have not found any pose in which the low waistjoint would make the pose better/easyer
but otherwise I have no problems with her posing

 

I want my MNF girls to look slightly less anime-ish and more realistic, so I'm wondering what would look better, and fit better, 12mm or 14mm? I'm thinking about ordering Masterpiece Polymer eyes, does anyone have any experience or pictures of these in Minifees?

oh goodness. 14 or 16 is good for MNF. I can get Shushu into 12mm, but they do gape. I have a pair of Masterpiece soft glass eyes, size 14mm fits both Soo and Shushu well.

 

I have one boy in the 14mm he came with and the other in 12mms.

The 14mms make them look less alert/wide-eyed and the 12mm make them look like they're full of energy and are watching everything, lol.

 

I'm fairly certain they did send my Shushu with 14mms like I asked. That's the assumption I've been going on anyway. So here's what she looks like in 14s

I, personally, will be buying 12mms for Vana when I order all my other Fairyland stuff. ^_^ I like how they look in the Shushus I've seen them in so far.

 

I have a Shushu and I like 14mm on her, I have tried 16's but felt
they looked a bit big for my taste. She's my avatar

 

i bought all 12 mm size eyes for my mnf chiwoo baby~~i think this size is the most suitable size for mnf.

 

No problem. ^^ I figured pictures might make deciding easier. I like the look of both, but I think I may like 12mm better!!! ^^; 14mm looks good in the bigger-eyed dolls such as Soo or Ari (maybe Shiwoo...?), but 12mm fits more realistically for the others. Shushu has smallish eyes, for all that they LOOK big.

Jinjur-- LOVE the coloring on your girl (the eyes and hair). ^_^ She's beautiful. I can't tell from the avatar, but is she an Elf, or a regular Shushu? They look like Elf ears in the avatar, so I was just wondering.

Raziel is wearing a Tata shirt right now, it has a cute slightly oversized look on him. And he's got on pants from Diverse Designs (LordSesshoumarusama I think) here on DoA, they make MNF pants and they fit him great.

 

o,o months ago I bought my Soo a pair of unoa boy pants (I didn't know that unoa boys had different measurements than unoa girls) and it doesn't fit because my minifee's butt is to big.

 

E. Wilde clothes fit my gal. My DES is small chest though. So far - skirts (make sure your gal has panties on), tops (so far so good), sweaters.
I haven't tried pants. Hose and leg wear do NOT fit.

I'll check 1/4 DZ clothes.

 

I buy stuff meant for Unoa and Narae, and it's always been a great fit!

 

I have 2 outfits that I bought on Cheerydoll , and they both fit my MNF Shushu's just fine. If you follow that link, look in the Sharmin/Unoa section for clothes that fit Minifees.

Clothing wise I kinda make everything for my dolls. But I do know that my MNF and DZ boy share clothing without issue. Shoes too.

 

Pretty much anything that says "fits slim MSD" will fit. I've bought items intended for the popular dolls Narae or Unoa or something like that (been a while since I shopped for my own ShuShu) and they've all fit beautifully. I have two elf shushus and I always found I was drawn to them, more
than the stock shushu. I think the eye opening is done a bit differently.

haha i'd been wondering if the mods would let the first thread hit 3000 posts or not...

well, here's my juri again. this time to show off her beautiful eyes. i'd been searching for the green grey color in any size for ages since anywhere that sold it has been out forever. i found it in 12mm last weekend at a doll show and just knew they'd be fore her. they're a little small and gap some at the edges, but i think that will be fine once she's got a faceup and eyelashes. plus it's not too noticeable except for at certain angles.

 

XD! Yeah I was wandering the convention halls and somebody gave Prophet a glowstick 'cause they thought it was amusing that he went with me.
Even if neither of us are very good dancers. XD He was excited to have his own neon light in any case. xD

I also have 12mm in my boy's eyes, I think they look less 'bug-eyed' than some of the wider ones. xD

she's WONDERFUL torren! i could see you getting one...hehehehe *enables* i was surprised how her head is pink compared to any of the other minifee bodies and hands i have. but it matches closely enough and you can't tell in photos. oh! i forgot to add as well that i tried winter's 7-8 jpop kana long wig on her and it fit the same as on winter.

Ignore the fact that he has no face up at the moment. His other face had black, heavy makeup on for his own costume, and I didn't want to re-do it... and that would not have looked good with this costume. xD

Yes, Torren! It is Bou from An Cafe. I'm not sure what PV/Photoshoot though, I'm not a big Antique fan myself. xD We were commissioning it for a big person, and I used the scraps left over to make a doll costume for some extra monies. xD So thank you! You sure do know your JMusic. xD

 

I've got this GIIIIIAAAAAANT folder FULL of an cafe pics. ^^;; Aside from the fact that i love their music, i think they're adorable, and teh outfits are amazing. XD that, and jmusic in general. i'd say about 70% of the music i have on my computer is japanese. XD

So many jrock outfits would just look so good on dolls. XD I'd make them if any of mine would wear them XD

 

LOL! Nice. Pretty much everything I listen to is all Japanese too, but I just don't get that into anyone else. xD
I'm going to make a mini Kanon costume next, since that's what I'm being forced to cosplay and I have the fabric. xD;; But yeah, their outfits are cool. Not so hardcore like GOTH PUNK and more... could wear on a regular basis. xD

Just wondering, does anyone have a leeke wig for their smaller headed mnf? (shushu specifically) If you do, what size do you have and how does it fit?

I'm still looking at wig options for my Azri, and just realized that i'm ordering from denverdoll for something else, but i like a few of the leeke wigs they've got and was wondering if any might work sizewise for Az or not. ^^;

Aw. *Hugs fayerie* I'm sorry. That's one of the reasons I dislike modding the eyes open on limited sleeping dolls. If something goes wrong, or you don't like it, it's impossible to find someone who didn't mod theirs. I'll keep an eye out in the Marketplace for you, fayerie.
