@Saraht I think you girl came out wonderfully! I have no guts when it comes to face-ups. Maybe one day "when I grow up" HA!

Here's a pic of my twins together (finally/sorta). I'm so lazy...I've done nothing about their styling but Lulu (brown hair) had a wig colour change from blond to brown. That's about as far as I've gotten with these two. Still dragging my feet over their bigger bodies...

Thank you for your comment on my face up. I was very nervous doing it but am so pleased with the way she came out. I don't think that I will ever tire of her!

 

I know what you mean about this sculpt. I wanted her for years and she was one of my dream sculpts.
And thank you for the kind words I'm glad the concept for them came across.
Their face-ups were done by Rugged Realism (Helene) here on DoA. I love working with her when I can nab a spot.

I have a question. My Dandelion is one of the first from a few years ago and she is in the Oriental French Resin. These dolls don't look like that. Are they newer? Mine was quite yellow at the beginning and still is but I have got used to it. I regret not getting the white version but???? live and learn. I don't think it has yellowed any more though but I am careful. I still quite like her but her original faceup is quite basic compared to the above more detail versions.

 

I tried to put a picture in here. Has DOA changed the way to do it or is it Flickr. Someone is making it difficult. I don't come to DOA much any more but it would be nice to share a picture.

 

Your Dandelion is lovely! And I had fun looking through your flickr to find her! Dandelion has been sold by a sequence of manufacturers and various resins over the years. She is currently available from Art-Bimong in normal skin urethane resin: art BIMONG

For flickr you need to use their share options at the lower right. Flickr keeps changing the way you need to post a link.

 

Thanks Nancy. Yes, I saw Flickr was different from before and even after copying the BBC code all I could get was that X with no picture but it does say my name so a person can go through all my pictures but does not show the one I want to show here. I find it a pain when these places change things. People are never happy with the changes. Once you knew how to do it before it was easy. Sometime I will try again.

 

Shashy, i have the same problem and am unable to use Flickr to post on DOA. I use Photobucket instead and use the Direct link to the right of the photo. It automatically turns yellow and says 'copied'. Soo much easier!

The French resin versions of Dandelion do look a little different to the urethane ones that i and some of the others here have. By nature i think the resin is more translucent, so you will find she has a different tone to her. Very pretty though!

 

Your Mary is absolutely stunning. You must sit and look at her for hours! I would. I am not familiar with Rugged Realism, so i shall be looking her up later on To have twins as well - lucky thing is my response

 

@Shashy I love your classic Dandelion! And your doll collection is really wonderful and charming. I also enjoyed looking through your photos on Flickr. I totally get the frustration about trying to share photos . I have to edit the Flickr share links to get my pics to post as well, which is a pain. If you don't find the help thread on DoA that explains what to do, feel free to PM me and I'll list out the steps.

@Saraht Thank you so much! I do really enjoy my girls. But to be honest, I hardly give them any attention because they aren't in their final form. Shame on me But at least they have their wigs and eyes! Oh and Rugged Realism is also known as Helene here on DoA.

Are you just coping the flickr link into your message? You shouldn't use the Image box. This isn't a Dandelion, but I just clicked on the share arrow, then BB code and then copied the text and pasted it into the message.

Does anyone own a Bimong Meronica body and a Bimong Dandelion head? How does Dandelion fit on Meronica's body? Do they at all?

Bimong also doesn't list the neck circumference of any body. Does anyone know Dandelion's and Meronica's?

 

I have both and I don't think that would work at all. It would result in a very bobble headed doll. I'll try to get a comparison picture tomorrow or Saturday.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca That's what I was thinking from the circumference of their heads and the difference in body types.

Looks like the Dandelion heads sold out within a week.
I wasn't able to get one! Sighs...
I was talking to Bimong and he mentioned that the new 60cm Narae body he is working on is suitable for Dandelion! And he plans to do a renewal where head and body are available for purchase separately.
So I guess I just have to hold out a bit longer!

 

He has been posting progress pictures of the new body on his flickr page. The link is on his home page. When he puts something on sale, it's to act promptly! Start saving for the day!

And sign up for his mailing list! He does send out notices about new things in stock!

 

I had asked him a while ago about getting a dandelion head separately. At that time you couldn't but he remembered and emailed me to let me know of his sale. So I got one of the heads. It came today.

Sadly, the reason why I missed out on Dandelion was because I didn't have money at the time. When I did, it was too late

Dandelion heads are in stock again! In two colors! Normal A and B. I think Normal B is the new "real skin" but I am going to ask!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca i was just gonna make a post! And then ask you about the difference between normal A and B (cause you are the bimong expert)

I got an answer already:

Normal B skin tone is same to normal skin A.
B is more yellow.
A is more pinky.


So I think Normal B is a new color. Now I need to ask if Normal A is the same as the prior Normal.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca ooo thanks! I think it'd be best of bimong could just provide us with a resin comparison photo cause that would take out a lot of guesswork

 

His color comparisons are relative, but not accurate enough to really know what color matches something on another page.

Bimong confirmed that Normal A is the same normal skin he has been using.

 

@fansea Im excited for you to get a Dandelion !!! What body will you put yours on ?

@samson Ive wanted one for so long, but it was so hard to find just the head. (I just sit and admire your Nari all day ) I was thinking the dollstown elf body....but I'm not too sure... I really want to keep her in the 50cm range but I have yet to find a suitable body. Any suggestions? Resin match isn't really a problem.

 

@fansea Thank you XX Well, I love Nari's Dollstown body, so I'm very biased lol. She fits nicely with MDR Fang as they're a similar height ( Very different body shape as our MDR girls are quite the heavy weights right ? lol) I got the oriental resin colour

Congrats! I'm always excited to hear people getting Dandelion. I never get tired of her. Maybe it's because she was also a sort of "grail" for me too. When I first started collecting she wasn't available but was always looking for a doll that looked like her.

Looking forward to what you end up doing with her.

@mdonline03 @samson thank you both! To be honest, I never had (and still don't have) specific plans for my Dandelion. I just always knew I wanted one. Now I think she'll fit in right in with my Fang. Time to brainstorm on her character!

 

I received my Dandelion a few days ago!! (she's on the Feeple Moe body here. FL resin is a close match, its just pinky. Neck is too long looking imo, and I think the neck is a bit too thick for the head to sit right tho it's not too bad)

I managed to do some resin comparison photos and found Akagidoll NS to be a perfect match!! If my research is going well, it means Dollshe's Oriental Skin should be a near perfect match as well!! I ordered the Dollstown Elf Body for her, so I'm just waiting for that to come in~~

Congratulations on your Dandelion. I love my girl so much (as you can tell from my avatar!). I would definitely consider getting another body for mine for poseability and to change the hands which I find too large, but as my girl is stood displayed in a long sleeved Kimono, I don't have the current need.

Please show us photos once she is completed.

 

I just bought a Dandelion head and I'm now awaiting her arrival- very exciting!!

But I'm a little lost when it comes to finding her a body that will fit... Does anyone know of bodies that would possibly work for this head (other than the DT Elf bodies)?

 

How exciting....congrats! I have always loved Dandelion. I actually didn't know that only the head could be purchased without the body, so I'm really glad you posted! Makes it a little easier on the budget to get just the head, and worry about the body later lol!

I just learned the hard way to not count on any sculpt being available always.........I had wanted a doll that the owner had specifically posted "do not worry, not limited, will always be available".........so I procrastinated on getting him. Suddenly though, the company went out of business! Now I don't know if I'll ever find that doll again.

Definitely don't want that to happen with Dandelion!

Congrats on getting your Dandelion. I adore the sculpt also and have twins I'm wanting to swap out on bigger bodies. Bimong has eluded that the new body he's working on should also work for Dandelion. I'm personally waiting for the final results of this body and hopefully it will suit. Personally I gave the Dandelion head a whirl on the DT15 boy body. Depending on what you're looking for, I think it can work (which leads me to believe the head would also work on the DT13 girl). I don't have the Granado Maiden body, but I think Dandelion would also work on that body. I have the Granado female Nuevo and resin wise it's a good match and the neck size of the Maiden should fit Dandelion. For me it was going to be between a Dollstown body or a Granado body until Bimong started posting about his new body. Hope this helped in some way.

 

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that- but please don't give up hope! I have managed to find every-single-hard-to-find holy grail doll of mine thanks to the DOA Marketplace! Just stalk the marketplace and sooner or later you will find your doll!

Glad to help. Selfishly I was only thinking of bigger bodies since that's what I plan to do.
A smaller body isn't out of the question. Dandelion's original body is that size and you can buy the body separately direct from Bimong (since you have the head already).

Right now the body is still being discounted, so a good time to buy if it works for you. I think her original body is super adorable. I think most people on the thread still have her on her original body or similar. I just wanted my girls on a larger body, which some folks do as the head is somewhat versatile and can fit a slightly larger body as well.

 

mdonline03~~ thank you for your kind reply!^^ Ahhh I guess I should wait and see what size the Dandelion head is first before I start to make too many plans on what body to put her on- as it seems the head is on the large size which is why people like to turn her into a SD sized girl? I do have 2 Dollstown13 bodies, so maybe she can borrow one of those :3
The original Dandelion body IS super adorable- but the hands always seemed a little too large for my taste :3

 

Ohh...I'll be curious to hear your opinion of the Dandelion head on the DT13 body.

My Dandelion head arrived today. She was an impulse purchase- but I'm very happy with her, Dandelion is a beautiful sculpt!
I took photos of her on a Dollstown13 body, which unfortunately is an AWFUL match! The proportions are not good (body is too big for this head) + the resin match is also not good (the Dandelion head being too pink for my old yellowed DT body).
I also tried the Dandelion head on my Volks SDgr body and that was a better match. The SDgr body is quite slim and works ok proportion-wise. The resin match wasn't perfect tho as Volks NS has yellow undertones.

@Lotte Rotten Thank you so much for those comparisons!!! You are so right about the proportions with the DT13 and the SDrg.

I'm hoping that Bimongs new girl body will work, otherwise I'll probably go with Granado's maiden.

I'll be insterested to see your concept for Dandelion.

I hope you find the perfect body for your Dandelion- it'd be lovely if Bimongs new girl body could work. Sometimes hybrid dolls sure can be troublesome to match together!!

 

I have a Dandelion (tan) and today I broke a finger. Are their any other companies that might have a tan resin match?? I have fixed the finger - but I am always going to see that thin break line.
I purchased my first Dandelion when introduced by Bimong. She is now quite yellow - still love her. I am sorting thru clothes to list on DoA..and found this little Irish outfit - a keeper for my girl - and then I played around and photo-shopped her.. to Ireland. Sharing...



I might try my Dandelion head on my 58cm female body - but this yellow resin will not be a good match. Also, my first Dandelion has a smaller body.

 

@jo1961 my oriental french resin girl from the first order is kind of a golden biscuity color, maybe Iple peach or realskin or one of the dollshe craft colors from dollstown? honey mango or pure copper oriental?

I've noticed that lots of people are putting their dandelions on bigger bodies, did he make the later ones with a bigger head? Or are they all the same size?

Lirin, my first Dandelion - the one that is yellowed - is smaller in height and the head looks bigger but maybe because it is a shorter body. My newer Dandelion bodies are thinner/slightly taller.
I was just looking to replace the hands on my Dandelion tan resin - maybe bimong will let me just order a new pair of hands. I will have to contact him..
Your Dandelion has such a lovely face-up and cute outfit too. I think I got the French Resin and someone said that yellows badly.

 

i got the chance to try my dandelion's head on my mother's dollstown elf body today, and though the neck was a great fit my opinion is that it just doesn't work scale-wise. the head is maybe a little big on the body, which i guess is the first version, but imo it's not that big of a head. (i also managed to chip her faceup while doing this, so i'm now redoing it )

as i was looking at the headcap/body of the dandelion doing the head swap, I realized that the resin, on mine at least, is not really tan. it's more of a warm goldeny color. It's maybe a bit darker, but I think you might be able to get iplehouse glow peach gold resin hands in the KID or JID size that might work size wise. But it would definitely be a better fit if you could get some from Bimong. I just don't know if those molds even still exist, as all he's offered for sale in recent years has been the heads, not either of the bodies.

french resin does oxidize more than urethane resin, yes. mine has darkened a little. I would hardly call it 'badly' though. she's not lemony, and the resin is an even, glowing color through and through. like i said, like the color of a browned almond biscuit, with a peachy undertone. maybe i lucked out but I'm still glad I got the french resin, even all these years later.

 

I went to dress my dolls again and darn if I did not break that finger off again. So I removed the hands - glued the finger back and letting it sit for awhile. Then I went looking in my extra hand storage box and found a pair of JID real skin hands. The fit at the wrist could be better but not bad and the resin match is lovely. I have ordered a pair of JID male hands as I thought that might be a better wrist fit but dollshe's darking realskin may not be a good match. We will see. Here is a photo of Dandelion with her new hands.

 

I'm glad you found a good resin match! Tans can be tricky. What are you using to glue the finger?

 

nancy_schroeder_ca, I used my husband's ZAP filling ACC. Rob is a model railroader so I often seek out his advice.

 

I usually use Zap-a-Gap CA+. If the surfaces are clean it should hold well and be almost invisible.
