Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

Hope it's alright if I join in on the Migidoll love! I adore Migidoll. They definitely have my favorite doll sculpts.

I own a WS Migidoll Jina boy who's just a head right now. He's my grail doll! Poor guy still needs a body though (in my avatar, he's on a body I recently sold). I'm thinking a Fantasy Doll/Fdoll 60cm would be pretty cute!

 

I'd be worried over the neck size. The FD 60cm neck is only 9" where the Jina's head would take a 10.5" neck. The gap would be pretty big.

 

I had no idea that was the case, thank you for the heads up (no pun intended)!

If anyone has any body recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate them! I'm looking for something on the softer side. Less muscle definition and such.

 

Doll Leaves has a very soft body. And Guu Dolls are a bit softer. But the neck is still a bit small. I've been looking for something similar.

Hello all, I had a hard time navigating this thread, so if I ask a question that has already been answered I apologize. I am thinking about adding a Migidoll Ell to my collection, but I have no idea how his body poses. Is he stable when he stands? Is he kicky out of the box? Does he have thigh mobility joints? I love that he looks so masculine! If possible, post pictures of your handsome boy!

I wish I could help you, but my Ell is on a different body and is less manly and more dork. But here's another picture of just the head if that helps. I really need to take more pics.

@Squeek of the North - I'm not sure if you've already decided on Yujin or not, but I've got both, the cynical and non-cynical version. I'd be more than happy to post a 'side by side' shot if you'd like a comparison. ^^

 

@Sara Elizabeth I bought the unassemble 65 body so I don't know if they are kicky out of the box but my boy is really sturdy. He stands very well and holds almost every pose I try on him. The elbow joint is wonderful you can swing his arms in front or to the side because it is a true ball joint. the forearm end of the joint has steps so you can adjust the forearm up in increments. The knees are a little strange but once you get used to them, he can yoga pose with his heels at his hips. A true pretzel. Nice muscular body.

Did anyone else participate in the June 6th event? 30% off a selection of dolls + a free baby size doll. I thought it was a great deal so I got a suntan skin Cynical Yujin. I've been eyeing Migidoll for years and really wanted one of their tan skin boys, plus Yujin is one of my fave sculpts, so I jumped on it. I'm so excited!

Hello everyone, I've been away from this hobby for over 3 years and just feel so lost after getting back on here. Thinking of leaving this hobby for good since I now have a toddler and a baby on the way. But after looking at my doll family, I just can't stand to part with any of them. So here is my Takkie, a Ryu that I've had for so long (almost 6 years?) and was one of my first dolls. This is an old picture, he is currently sitting in my closet with the rest.

 

@Mochistar, your Ryu is so sweetly handsome. I can imagine it's hard to find any time for yourself while your children are young. Ryu looks like he'll wait patiently until you're ready for him again.

 

@Mochistar that is the best part of owning dolls you already love. They will be there for you any time you are ready, even for a quick peek, no matter how long it takes.

Aaaaaaah, I did it--took the plunge on the current event and my order is in for a Cynical Miho head! It's such a gorgeous sculpt, but I've only ever found one other person who has one. Mine will be a girl, I'm looking at the Dollstown 17 body as an option, but for at least the next year she'll be hanging out on the new DZ bust with the fox on it. Can't wait to get my hands on that head!

 

Thank you. Yes you are absolutely right... he's like a part of my family. I think he will be around even when my daughters are older, would love to pass him down to both of my daughters once they are old enough and show interest.

Couldn't agree more... I just can't stand to part with any of them. They are indeed nice to have and definitely makes me happy even for just a quick peek.

 

How cute he is! It's sad that he should sit in the closet.

 

May I ask what clothing size is a perfect fit for Guy body II? I bought Volks SD17 Clothes for mine, but the arm length is too long and the pants can't be wear either. Instead, SD13 shirt is a perfect fit but it is an overfit design for SD13 (Volks marked that it doesn't fit for SD17). I'm a little bit confused now.

 

Hey there everyone long time no see! I'm trying to figure out how to post again. I miss seeing everyone's little ones and being able to talk with you guys. I've gotten really bad about taking pictures or updating... Bad dolly mom, but I'm going to try to change that and try to post more frequently here and there. I took a cute picture of Ferris and wanted to share! He looked a little frightened in the original shot so I did some editing... But I'm afraid I may have over processed it. Poor thing.


I hope that picture works. That's the part I haven't been able to figure out with my phone since the site changed again.

I'm sorry I don't know the size on clothes because my guys are all on different crazy bodies.

Bleak got a new wig that seems to fit into his pastel vampire look. It is a pale olive color and I like it better than the mint green and pink one he was wearing. Now I need to make some more clothes for him.

migidoll is my favourite company of all time. I've gotten leftover costumes from them without having to buy the pre-required doll, their sculpts are gorgeous, and they respond very quickly to questions and queries

Sorry if this was already discussed...I can't find this anywhere. Does anyone know if the Style65 Guy Body II would match a Migidoll Kay head? He was the second release head on the December 22-29, 2014 ordering period only in the New Normal Skin resin that was implemented in June 2014. The body options at the time were the M-Style Guy body and the BNB "Youth 16" Body.

I have no idea @*Earthbound_Angel* my 2016 Yujin and Ell vampires fit on the 2017 Migidoll 65.

I finished Bleak's pastel suit. I found this wonderful Brocade and had to get it for him. I wasn't originally going to make a period outfit for any of the vampires but this screamed Bleak. That he is an elf and lived for a long time before he was turned into a vampire probably means he knew about this style of clothing. Anyway, he gets to be the pastel dandy of the group even though he has ordinary modern pastel clothes should the need arise for casual dress.

In personal news, my Cynical Miho head shipped on Tuesday!! I can't wait, although as usual I'll be super worried about something going awry with shipping until it actually arrives. Fingers crossed for a swift delivery!

 

You guys, I'm so confused by all these discontinuation emails I keep getting from Migi...is she completely shutting down production of the 65cm guys? Are all the heads gonna end up discontinued? I'm scared I won't be a leading to buy another Jina head ever again...

I have my Jina boy on the Guy Body II, and it's definitely a strange size. 1/3, SD and SD13 shirts seem fine, but he definitly needs SD17/70cm pants. The pair of SD17 jeans I have for Harley are skinny and are suuuper-tight and kinda tricky to get on.

I actually managed to get a pair of SD 1/3 Dollmore pants on him too, only problem is they're a tiny bit short on him.

 

Eeeeeeeeeehh?? Please say it isn't so! I'm still saving for my first Migidoll--an Ell.

 

I just got an email a day or so ago, but it's kinda confusing.

I don't really understand if they're discontinuing the entire line, or what the heck this "planned product' thing means...but I'm scared too

 

I interpreted it as going back to "x, y, and z will be available on such and such date" style sale periods only--nothing available all the time. But it's very oddly worded, and I'm selfishly relieved that I got my order in back in June!

Hi guys! I recently bought a Migidoll Cynical Sion and was wondering what jointed hands would go well with his body. I was looking to buy Doll Family H hands but idk if 1/3 hands or 70 cm hands fit..

 

I have this comparison between the SD and 70cm jointed hands, these are Doll Legend but they should be comparable for size reference. The wrist is on a 66cm bjd.

 

So Doll Legend's resin matches well?

 

oh shit there is a huge difference..do you know which one is better for thr 65 cm body?

 

It depends, on more feminine boys I like the SD for masculine I like the 70cm. If I had to choose for my 65 Migidoll I'd probably go for the 70cm size.

 

Those are white resin and the wrist is a Mirodoll. I don't have any NS jointed hands that I could show/compare on my 65cm Migidoll.

@Alchemist's Fire Thank you a lot. Yesterday I bought a new pair of SD17 shorts for him and it didn't fit. I always want to buy a suit from freedom teller but it seem impossible to make a perfect fit

 

The SD17 pants my cousin got me for me were an incredibly tight fit, but I got them over his hips with a little struggling. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble =( 70cm bottoms might be a better fit?

 

I got it changed for 70cm. It's quite loose around his hip but it's fine.
Even the seller said that his body mesurment is very weird. SD17 is too fit. 70cm is too lose and too long.

 

I don't remember if I posted about it here, but my gorgeous girl arrived last week! I'm almost done painting her and I can't hold back on sharing any longer

I can't do sealant and gloss for a couple of days, but here's a preview of Jessamine's face! So pleased to have this girl in hand, even if she's ages away from a body. Anyone with Migi heads as girls, I'd love to know what body you're using! SD16 seems to be the most popular, but it won't work for me in terms of body type. Painting her reminded me a bit of working on a DoT Homme Ducan back in ye olden days--there's just something about that lazy little hint of a smile.

In response to Migidolls in girl bodies, I've got mine in a range from 62-69cm, and I've been liking how proportionate each of them had been, even though the size of the heads and the size of faces do factor in in how the proportion works in each. Can't say much in the way of resin match since I'm more concerned about proportion, plus the clothes I've been making for them tend to have high collars and long sleeves anyway (here's a thread of some of my Migidoll girls).

 

@satyrsmoon Thank you so much for sharing! That's hugely helpful. The Dollstown 17yrs body is probably my favorite option right now, but I really want to try the fit in person (a local collector has one) before deciding for sure. Granado's Nuevo is also on my shortlist She'll be a bit bigger than some of the boys with either of those (her character is supposed to be shorter than them), but I tried her on a Delf boy body just to see the size (he can wear typical SD girl clothes comfortably) and it was WAY too small so I already realize a standard SD girl body won't do.

 

@Wolfie that's cool. My Jina and Jean are now both on Dollstown 17 bodies (Jina has the bigger bust version) and I really like the proportions. Hope your Miho works out on whatever body you put her in

Has anyone here tried to hybrid on a 60cm boy body?

 

I have had my Yujin on a 60cm. He didn't look bad.

 

The early Migidolls from ten years ago were hybrid-ed on 60cm bodies. There's a lot of threads about hybrids in the Photo Reference subforum, but the pictures might not be visible anymore if they're hosted by Photobucket.

 

Jessamine's wig arrived, and I just had to steal a body to snap a few pictures She's borrowing a Super Gem boy body for the moment, since that's the only NS body we have that she can fit, but I'm leaning toward the Dollstown 17yrs girl for her eventually.
