Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

Hi, everyone! I didn't see anything like this posted anywhere, but if there is, please feel free to ignore me, haha.

I am super privy to tan-skinned dolls, but I've always been mortified of ruining the pigments. I was looking into getting a blank tan Ryo from Migi so I decided to ask what their own artists used that was safe for removing face-ups on their tan dolls.

But, I can definitely say I'm a lot more comfortable with removing face-ups on THEIR dolls at least.

 

Probably the reason why you haven't seen this type of info here is because discussions on what to use to remove and apply faceups, including the types of sealant that wouldn't ghost on tan resin, would usually be in the Customization & Maintenance subforum, not usually in threads that are specific to discussions about a company's dolls like this one.
But it's nice of you to share.
Though I'd recommend also checking that subforum as it has tutorials and discussions on customizing, etc, if you're researching.

Hello! Sorry, it's been a while since you posted your question here.
I think Migidoll has closer match with Volks resin; well at least mine ones are.
My two Elles are in a normal skin and a white skin.
Here on the picture right, my Elle normal skin is on a Volks SDGrb normal skin.
Other white head is well matching with a SD13 boy body in white skin, too.

Hi all! I'm new to hybrids, and I'm not really sure where to start. I have a Ell from 2013, and while I absolutely adore him, I feel like the old Migidoll body is just so clunky. I was curious to know if he would work on a CP Delf boy body, at all? I posted about it in the photo reference section, but no luck so far.

 

I think he can probably fit on the body, there's been owners who have had their Migidoll Mihos and Ryus on the CP delf body, but I have the impression that Ell heads are a bit bigger, or at least have a square jaw/face appears bigger than Mihos and Ryus, so he might look a bit bobble-headed? I think searching up the other Migi heads on CP delf bodies might give you a rough approximation. Satyrsmoon also posted a comparison of a lot of Migi heads in one of these Migi discussion threads so maybe combining those information might give you a lead?


Also, popped by with a photo of Hew, the Miho I don't photograph as much, because I took a bunch of photos of him (gallery thread here if anyone's interested. P.S. he dabs in 2 of the photos lol.) and thought I'll share!

Which old heads, and what new body (delf? Or Migidoll bodies?)

If you're talking about older Migi heads fitting on the newer Migi bodies, I can't really help you since I don't own a Migi body, but maybe someone else here would know? But my guess is it would... since the neck size should be similar.

 

I have an older Ryu head. I don't have anything to compare him to, but I'm pretty sure he's very yellowed.
He's currently on an old DIM body, but I don't care for that body at all.
I'm pretty sure he's in the NS skin.
Does anyone have an idea of bodies that will match my yellowed head?
I'd like something lanky looking, not too muscular.
I have no experience with hybrids other than my Ryu and I purchased him secondhand with the DIM body.
I'd appreciate any help.

 

@rocketshipwalker, Fdoll normal might work for a yellowed head, and they're perfect for that lanky look - it's what I used for the Jina I no longer own. Pale normal will be too light.

hi friends ♡ has anyone ever tried a switch wig on one of their migi boys? i'm looking to get a switch wig for my miho, but wasn't sure which size to get since i've heard switch wigs run small.

 

I hope this is the right place to post this (been a long time since I was last on DoA). I want to get a Migidoll Mu, but the Migidoll body is too tall and muscular for what I want (I am looking for 60cm height). What dolls are both a good resin match and less muscular? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I hope this is in the right place. My migidoll bodies will be coming soon from migidoll and I'm looking to get the boys some clothes. I couldn't find anywhere listed or discussed what size the bodies wear.
I see sadol clothing works but what size? Would sd13 work from volks?

Any and all help appreciated.

 

Are they the new guy body II? If so, The body is somewhat thicker than my SD 60cm doll. Of what little clothes I have in SD size is tight. I dress mine in the 70cm clothes mostly, but the legs are always a little longer than what looks good. I'm honestly interesed in what others have to say, my Harry needs his own look, he's tired of wearing his friends' clothes.

and now aftre 6 years I was able to buy Ryu head again I am so happy right now

It's too bad Migi isn't offering the new Miho with a faceup. ;; Aaah. I'm still so tempted to get him. Is anyone else going to participate in the sale?

 

I would guess that probably yes?
Although I'd suggest getting the Ryu head first, and sending his headcap to RS to get the body colour-matched =)

I'm considering buying the RS 1/3 body for one of my other heads, and I'd be happy to put my Migi Jina head on it for a comparison...but it might be a while. I'll see if I can find someone who has both!

Same here; I've only been staring at the page off and on for... days >< It's especially tempting (to me at least) with the sale for Oscardoll eyes still going, but I also just handed them a lot of money during their anniversary event How many brand new Migidolls does one really need...

Someone with Indigo Gary Vampire Yujin photos? I really wanted to order him but the no layaway option destroyed my plans.

 

I know people have hybrid spiritdoll elegance body with migidoll before, but how is the resin match? I've only been able to find WS pics. Does anyone have NS? Would it work?

 

What size wigs do you guys put on your Ryu's?
I've bought Maxwell two different 8-9 wigs and both have been extremely too large.
Should he be wearing a 7-8?
I'd like to get him a Luts wig in the future, but I'd like to know about sizing before I order one.

He's got a wig now, but I'm still not sure what I think of it. No shoes yet, cause holy crap those feet are huge.

 

He is great! Migidoll has the most amazing sculpts! Are you planning on doing the faceup yourself?
And are the feet really that big? What are the measurements? I have a boy coming home soon and I'm curious if the measurements match up to what the company website says.

 

Yujin owners: What body do you guys have him on? I'm not too sure I want the new Migi body, so I'm curious of other options! The information for Migi + body matches is so scattered and unclear, I'm struggling to find info!

 

I am waiting on WS Ell and Yujin and NS Yujin vampire heads, I am going to see what bodies I have look best with them and then decide what I should buy.

 

My Yujin triplets are on 70cm bodies:

from left to right:
in red: first Yujin sculpt (discontinued) NS-A 2010 (Leeke-matching) on Dikadoll NS-Pink 2011
in blue: Cynical Yujin NS-B 2009 (Volks-matching) on Angelsdoll NS-Volks 2010 (discontinued)
in silver: renewed Yujin sculpt New-NS 2015 on Angell Studio Normal Butter 2015

If you're finding the info on resin match scattered and unclear it's because of:
1) resins differing from batch to batch
2) companies changing their resin formula
3) degree of oxidization (aka: "yellowing") factors in how long you've had either head or body, meaning what you find to be a perfect match now may not be the case a few months down the line, especially in regards to how much you handle the doll (ie: if you take them outside in the sun, or if you smoke, etc).

The Yujins in the above picture or even my other dolls don't match perfectly with any of the bodies I end up putting them on, and that's fine because having been in this hobby for a while I stopped caring about resin match and simply just enjoy the dolls.

My two current elf vampires are named Dusk Nightbane and Vague Paleshadow. Names elves find offensive but in my vampire world the maker gets to give you your vampire name. Their maker hates elves and will turn one when the right set of circumstances occurs. The names get worse with time so names like Bleak Hostilehaze, Callous Smudge (I'm working on the third one, perhaps Nox Ravenblood?), these guys will live a long time with disreputable names. They congregate together at my house to commiserate together. My own little Elf Vampire coven.

Im really sad I missed the Vamp Yujin in that lovely indigo gray skin ;___; he was so handsome. I think I have too much of a soft spot for Yujin tho haha! Anyone have him?

Hei guys, i might be comming to ask this at the wrong place but i just got my Migidoll Cho. The website says he's 65cm but i put him Next to my zenith boy and he is way shorter... i compared him to my 60cm doll and he is the same size... is this normal?

 

I guess it depends on what body you have. I think the older body is around 60-62cm. I'm not familiar with the new body, but I believe it's suppose to be 65cm.

It's been awhile since I've shared my Cho. I moved twice this year and sadly my dolls have been packed away for quite awhile.

 

Ace is so cute, for a vampire, he needs more photos.

Here is one of my Cynical Yujin. Saw some people asking about the resinsoul bodies and this guy is on their 70cm body. Colour match isn't super, but they will do a custom colour if you send them the headcap

I recently adopted a Migidoll Jina head (NS B) and I'm on the hunt for what body to get for him next year.
I was thinking about the Senior Delf boy v3 body, because I'm not a fan of all the very tall, muscley ones that seem to be the only options, recently :< does anyone have a migidoll on a SDF body they can show (or if they can point me in the right direction to find some)? I'd like to see the proportions etc before I commit to buying anything if and when I find one, I've never made a hybrid dolly before so I'm a bit paranoid it'll turn out wacky!
