Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

It's wonderful seeing all these gorgeous dolls. I'm especially liking the Ryus.
(After years of wanting one, I finally ordered a Ryu head just recently ;u; )

 

I currently have a Ryu, and he is just beautiful. It makes me want a Jina though, they could be brothers...

 

[MENTION=27296]kaitan[/MENTION] ikr! He even has a kpopey sounding name. That's very similar to Suho from exo , though his hair and face kinda reminds me of jin in BTS and in one picture he very nearly looks like toby from PLL (well to me anyways)

Urghh, I have 3 migidolls on my 'grail dolls, that I highly doubt I will ever own but really want' wishlist. Yujin, Siho and Ryo to be my OC Haiiro's three brothers. ARRghhh migidoll keeps restocking Ryo (who was the first one I spotted) just to taunt me wwwhhhhyyyyyy?!

I hope you all are doing great. I have a question does somebody knows if Migidoll new normal skin is very different from their normal skin type A? Also if somebody have both skin tons can you please share some pictures. I used to have an Ell head with normal Type A skin on a mirodoll normal skin body and the match was perfect. So I want to create and hybrid again and I want to know if the difference will be a lot.

I love his wig! Where did you get it from? And the cynical head looks so great, you should definitely get it!

 

Thank you! I bought it from For My Doll- the shipping is a bit steep so I wouldn't order from them unless you're buying a bunch of wigs (or joining a group order on DoA), but the quality of their work is very much worth the price. And I decided to hold off on the head for now; I have too many layaways I need to finish up. I intend to track it down later, though!

It's been quiet in this thread lately, hasn't it?

No new photos from me, but I recently bought a tan Jina and an NS Joe while the free head promotion is going. I snagged a Dreaming Cho and will probably send him off to have his eyes modded open slightly less than the original headsculpt. I'm so excited!

 

I've a question,might be a noob one,on the migidoll website every doll is sold out how long will it be for me and other people to buy from migidoll again?

They're both very nice! The barbed wire caught my eye because I love the look of the stuff.

 

Looks like the new ordering period will be opening soon. Is anyone planning to take advantage of the discounted new Guy body? It's tempting, since my Noel has the worst engineering out of all of my current dolls, but even for $250 I'm not sure. I'd have to get him a whole new wardrobe in 65cm size and his joints look almost as floppy and irritating as the previous version, there are just more of them.

 

Can anyone tell me what the head sculpt is on the first pictures of the new body? I'm really bad at recognizing sculpts. Thanks!

Finally got a body for my new girl Joe (though her dress barely fits, can't zip it up all the way ^^;; will probably need to make her a dress of her own but that'd mean digging around for my fabric stash and looking for threads and trim and notion...orz).

I just wanted to pop in on the Migidoll thread and say hello! I just got my doll Nov 3rd and he's a Ryu with a Migidoll M-Cute guy body if i'm not mistaken. I find him a little hard to pose and he doesn't stand (balance) very well... So far all of my photos of him are him sitting down. Any tips? I'm completely new to this!

 

Sadly I don't have any suggestions for working with the M-Style body (M-Cute is the YOSD body), as I don't have one. Wiring has always helped me with posing, though!

I got my order from Migidoll yesterday! I ordered a tan Jina and an NS Joe head, and got a Dreaming Cho as my gift. Joe is cute, but not really to my taste, and I'm not up to modding those chubby cheeks like I thought I would be XD

Jina is so pretty in tan, it's ridiculous Unfortunately he doesn't match any of the tan resin I have currently, so I get to go the spraypaint route on one of my fixer-upper bodies, haha.

 

Finally gotten time to play again with my bigger dolls- thought I'd join in here. This is Elinore, my Jina.

 

Elinore is so lovely and the props and their scale are totally awesome! (and so realistic!)

 

Has anyone received one of the new Guy Body IIs? I'm anxious to here reviews on it.

I don't personally have the M-style body, but generally I use silicon discs/kips to improve poseability. ^^

Hi, everyone! I don't think I've shared my Ryu in this thread before. He's still a work in progress, but he looks a bit better now compared to when I first got him.
His name is Maxwell.
He's on an old DIM body that I dislike. Color match is great, but this body leans back horrendously and can't pose at all. Haha
So, if anyone has suggestions on an easy to pose body that will match my old, yellowed Ryu, that would be great.

I'm not sure whether my definition of easy to pose will be similar to what you want (some people like their dolls stable, others want range of motion and limbs that stay, etc), but off the top of my head, some bodies that might work and would match a yellowed Migidoll are Volks SD13 (I like mine without the inner piece in the torso although it makes him lean back and forth everywhere), Dollstown Old 15 boy body (heavy, solid poser but single jointed so have trouble touching his face etc), Popodoll (resin tends to be yellower, though maybe a brand new one needs to be yellowed a tad to match) either 63 or 68 should be fine.

Does anyone know if migidoll's normal skin currently matches popodoll normal skin? I know they did in the past but I want to make sure they still have a pretty good match.

I'm sorry I haven't been on very much. I haven't had a computer very much that has worked very much at all. It's a disgrace. I miss seeing all the pretty pictures and being able to post. I like talking to you guys and hearing all your doll plans for your incoming, or seeing when you find THE PERFECT SHIRT! You know the one. I got someone new, well used, LOL. I completed Ferris. His nickname is Fairy. He is the sweetest boy I have. He's just so adorable and I don't even know why. I have tried many times to figure it out with no success.

My Migidoll Ell has arrived last Monday. His name is Harvey. I finished his faceup a few days ago and I love him Now I have to find a wig for him

 

From the beginning of time I've wanted a tan Jina and I was wondering if anyone had ordered one in the newer tan option being offered. Or just any of the boys in this particular shade of tan.

I'm really interested also in any feedback on the new body they offer. It looks really pleasing, but I'm skeptical about the posing given my experience with the old school Migi body that my current Jina is on. I was hoping it had better posing capabilities as I wouldn't want to risk making a hybrid with tan.

I can't speak for the body, as I did a really dumb thing and tried to hybridize the new tan Migi Jina head I purchased. I'm comfortable with modifying bodies I already have to match the right shade of tan (via airbrush/spray paint/dyeing) but this guy...I ended up having to get a custom spray paint color to match him, and after going through all that work I've had zero motivation to get around to spraying his body to match his head orz

The tan is lovely, I will say that. It's not red like Fairyland or Impldoll tan, but it's not really yellow either? It's actually got a bit of a gray cast to it that makes it a really pretty, unique shade - enough that if somebody has good things to say about the body I would DEFINITELY recommend not trying to hybrid it

ETA: Obviously there's the option of going with a company that does custom resin matching, too. I just have enough bodies around "just in case" that I chose not to go that route.

 

I really like Migi dolls. The sculpts seem almost dreamlike. Do the bodies classify as slender or more middle of the road when getting clothes? I am looking and longing at a Ryeong/Miho and I hope she will be my next doll. So I want to ease the waiting by looking at clothes for her.

 

Seems to be a while since anyone has posted on here. I'm new to owning a Migidoll.. well bjds in general. I'm having a terrible time finding boots to fit his big ol' feet. Any suggestions on where to find some or even a size to look for?

I bought a Migidoll Jina head in NS second-hand back in January, and I just bought the Guy Body II unassembled kit! I'm pretty excited, as I bought 4 floating heads and was not expecting to be able to get bodies for any of them this year!

I was tempted myself for one of the kits but decided against. ;A;

Instead I got a Cynical Miho head~! >w< My spoiled first doll, my Miho Ashe, will now have three heads. XD Hopefully I can get the same artist who painted his first two heads Miho and Janus Miho. XD

@Ninjy, I absolutely love your Miho! I'm actually not the biggest fan of the Janus Miho sculpt, but yours seems to be the exception XD How exciting that he'll have 3 heads. I need to get my own Miho repainted...

@kamikakushi, congrats on your first doll! I like his eye and hair color combo.

I still need to get a body for my tan Jina, but I've got so many other projects going on I have no idea when that will actually happen XD I'm also still trying to figure out how to budget a Cho in sometime this year...

Which tan does your Jina have? The darker or lighter?

 

@Ninjy Haha, it's the worst when one character decides they need a million different looks!

My Jina is the new darker tan, which is making it really difficult to find a matching body. I'm thinking I'll need to send a headcap to a company that does custom matching, but I haven't decided which one yet.

I love the new Migidoll guy body! I took a gamble when they first released it and bought one for a Volks head I had. It was perfect. So far all of the SD17 outfits I've tried on it also work.

I decided to take advantage of the sale on the unassembled kits and bought three. I also bought three heads that I've been pining for - Yujin, Ell and Ryo. Needless to say my dolly budget is blown for the year but I'm a very happy lady!

I have an SD girl from Resinsoul, 58cm, and she's pretty slim compared to most SDs it seems, so I'm excited to have a bigger SD!

When you say the new Migi guy body, do you mean the one they call the Guy Body II? I haven't started buying any clothes for him yet 'cause I have noooo idea what's going to fit. I'm scared to buy anything and have it be too small, cause the problem I always have with my Resinsoul dolls is everything's too big!

I've heard SD17 stuff fits, someone else just told me SD/SD-13...I'm so confused...

I think you're the first one I've encountered that bought the kit, I haven't found anyone else yet that has! What colours did you get? ^^

Yes, the Guy Body II. I have most of my dolly things put away at the moment (big home renovations) but I have a new Volks brand SD17 suit coming. I'll try to find a few minutes to dress my guy up and take a few pics this weekend.

The joys of shoe shopping. I have Siho on the Guy Body II, which has some big ol' feet (8.5 cm). I'd love to get him some high-top, Converse-style sneakers, but all the ones I find either aren't high-tops, or are too small. Any suggestions on where I could find good sneakers?
