I finally got around to giving my Merry a faceup and finish her styling! She was quite yellowed from her face, but I managed to hide it.

Does anyone who owns the petrichor body know the length of the foot or whether or not they can wear smart doll sized shoes ?

I've been going through the entire thread again. How I miss all the sharing. Is it just me or has sharing pictures on this forum become more difficult?
I am still really eager to some day snag up a komorebi body. I think she never got around to releasing the new version right? Still hoping she will! I really would love that body.

So how are all your MDRs progressing? Mine keeps changing names.. don't know why that is..? I guess she just has such versatility and so much inspiration to give. I know her normal name to be Rosamund now, still deciding on her Elven name (which would probably be the name I would call her.) The woes of the dolls..

 

Thank you for all the MDR doll pics. I have never seen dolls from this company before, and especially like Fang. How does someone go about ordering from this company?

my poor Meri is still a zombie girl while I try to work up the courage to send her off to have her faceup removed, dezombification done on her greened face, and repainted.

I'm hoping it's just the sealant that has greened, rather than the resin (which is "normal" skin so would have yellowed, rather than greened, I'd have thought) but I'm worried that when she's had a new face-up, she won't come back looking like the same character, so have held off doing anything about it.

My girl is getting ready for Christmas!
We're once again doing a name change and recharacter design. I really hope one day I will just settle on something. For now it might be Elinmaaru, nickname Elin.. we'll see if it sticks.

Can someone recommend a face up artist for my Olathe? In the USA if possible. I just can't get her looking right.

 

My tracking didn't update for around three weeks but then my Fang suddenly arrived 23rd December. This was within EU, so it should've in general been quicker, but I blame the postal craziness, especially around the holidays. I haven't contacted them through email so I can't say about that, but it doesn't sound good that they haven't replied :/

 

I hope you've had an updated on your package. Everything is still so backed up right now. It took a package I sent to my son, a month to arrive to him.

I'm really antsy, I have a chocolate Zuri coming from the preorder. A bestie for my Fang, Ize.
I also took a bunch of posing pics of the petrichor body and put them on my instagram if anyone is interested.

 

The post office may be able to use the number even if you can't? I don't know. I hope she arrives home to you soon.

 

I don't know how long you've been waiting, but I know that some areas of the U.S. have a huge backlog of mail both going out and going in. Even with tracking it can look off. I had a package sat at Fort Lauderdale for weeks, then it got to the UK and was delivered to me within 2 days.

Is anyone else waiting on a Zuri from the Autumn Preorder?

I took some pics of Ize (my fang). I'm really looking forward to getting her painted. She and my Zuri will go to the spa together.

 

Recently finished up my layaway, so yup, I'm excitedly waiting for a Zuri. I ordered one in Chocolate Milk, though I still wonder if I should've gotten a darker tone, they look so incredible in Chocolate and Dark Cocoa. Either way, can't wait for her!

 

@Lefrin yes, getting the update tomorrow that she should be late March is just so exciting.
I love all three tones, but I had to have her in chocolate. I have jewelry being made for her as I type this reply..lol

Aaaaah scrolling through this thread has me wanting a MDR even more.

My grail is a cookie skin Olathe, so I'm really really hoping she's gonna do a preorder for her this year since it's been a while since the last one.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and wiped my Merry's faceup to see if I could deal with the greening problem and stop her looking like Zombie-Girl.

I don't know what it was sealed with because usually MSC comes off a lot easier and this was a real bugger to shift.

And... well I suspect the head may have been closer to whiteskin than normalskin in colour and was blushed to make it closer to normal skin, anda that it's the colour of the blushing that has faded out and the white skintone has greened in that "beauty-green" way that the old Luts CP Del whiteskin resin used to, because the whole head is very pale and doesn't look like it could have been normal skin to begin with.

I have the soaking in a bath of Polident prosthetic cleaner, to see if that will reduce the greening, and I have the (yellowed) Luts body the ehad was on soaking too. So fr it looks like the body is going pink and the head is going paler/whiter...

EDITED TO ADD: Here's a picture of the head and body soaking in Polident. The body has gone pink, the head (and headcap), looks a lot paler/whiter

I think the head must have originally been Freshskin (rather than Orientalskin) and blushed to make it match nomalskin a bit better. It's a little pinker at the back of the neck and in the headcap, but the face has faded to a very pale colour with a greyish tinge (almost greenish in pictures) so it will probably need dying if I'm to have any hope of continuing to use this body for poor Meri.

I must say, I'm very impressed with how much the Polident bath has reduced the yellowing in the body, it isn't bck to the colour it was when new, of course, but it's very much closer to it than it was before.

Hope you can get her back to a nice resin tone! Do you think you'll dye her or send her off to a dyer?

 

As I don't know anyone who takes on dying, and I have bottles of dye, I'll have a go at it myself and hope it comes out bettert than my last attempt to dye a doll tan (the first attempt got a lovley even "sunburned" shade)

but the important part of that attempt is that it came out even I've got a similar project waiting in the wings for a OT doll, if the body ever actually gets delivered... it was shipped from within the US 3/15! I'm really interested to see how your girl's dye job turns out
(the eyes I ordered from Soul in a Box were shipped from Greece on 2/25 and are also languishing somewhere in USPS' gullet)

 

The USPS is really in a mess these days, isn't it? I've had a package sit for over a month at Fort Lauderdale waiting to be sorted for sending over to England. Once it was out of the U.S. it took less than three days to reach me. I hope you don't have to wait much longer.

You might Have a similarly long wait to see how my girl turns out as I'n not the best at getting around to doing things.

Update on my Merry head

I decided to try a simpler solution than mixing the right shade with Ritt, and give the head a nice long loak in a very strong cup of hot black tea. @Gothic Pixie reminded me that we'd darkened up one of her doll head's a few years ago wiut this method (I'd entirely forgotten) to make it a better match for the body - and it doesn't seem to have faded in the intervening years, so it was worth a try.

The "orange" colour in the tea seems to have counteracted the greenish/greyish tinge the rein had taken on, and it's a darker colur too. Still lighter than the body, but less obviously white. It;s not completely even, but it's not obviously patchy (nothign that couldn't be dealt with by shading and blushing during faceup). Once I've seen it in Natural light tomorrow, I might give it another soak in a fresh cup of tea to see if I can darken it up a shade or two more.

Are you actively hunting for a body for the fang, or hoping that inspiration will strike? I'm glad the head eventually turned up after all that worry of the delayed package.

My Merry still has a lovely clean body waiting for her, but it's been two-steps-forward-one-step-back with the head. I gave her a quick dunk in a weak pink dye solution to try and get the tea-dyed colour closer to the body tone, and had to wipe it back because it was TOO pink. A smidge of yellow and less pink in the next attempt, I think.

I bought a Fang head!! I want for years! I'm very happy! But I have dobuts about the color skin. I bought in strawberry skin. My intention is buy a DT body... i love this body for she, but I'm not sure about match

I see that oasisdoll is a good match

Pictures of Strawberry look a bit too pink to match any of the DT colours, but I haven't seen it in person, only on photographs.

Hopefully, somebody else can give you a more accurate assessment

I can't speak to the resin match with strawberry skin, but I've got my Olathe on a Supiadoll 60cm ballerina body (she was previously on a Supia double jointed body).


I'm annoyed MRD scaled her heads down, the bulk of my dolls are 65cm+ and the smaller head size means they'll either look pinheaded or need bodies that are too short for my crew I guess it's good for my wallet, but damn I like Fang...
@Teddy - small setback, but your Merry will be ready for the limelight before much longer

 

I'm the opposite. My crew is 65 and below. The change is what convinced me I want a Fang.

 

In a perfect world both sizes would be available I absolutely love my Olathe and would have had so much regret if I had gotten a Fang instead, so I can live with admiring Fang from afar

 

I'm so excited, I received the shipping notice for my MDR Zuri in chocolate resin! Is anyone else receiving her from this order period?

I wish she would have more preorders. I really want a komeribi body for my Ophelia head because I think then I will discover who she really is but it's sooo hard to find!

yes, yes she is! I'm planning/hoping to put her new body through its paces this weekend and see what all poses I can get her to hold, elbow permitting, that is

sometimes other people believing in us is just the push we need to accomplish things

At this point though, I'd happily buy another head in the right skintone if they were still available, rather than keep fiddling with the colour of this one.

Yay, Merry! I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I love the way you mixed and matched fabrics and patterns in that suit. just really lovely

 

Now that you mention it, you may well have done, thank you again.

At some point I intend to dig out the rest of the fabric and make the two alternative styles of bodice I always planned to go with it. Perhaps to celebrate when she's dyed, repainted, and back together again (I got the idea from pictures of a surviving child's set in a museum collection)

These are my MerryDollRound Olathe on the Petrichor body and my MDR Ophelia.

I'd love to get my Ophelia a komerebi body but they are so hard to find! And I don't think Nuria will release that body again. So now I'm at a loss. I want a similar style body. (sort of boyish to be different from the petrichor) but I'd prefer to stay within EU so options are so limited. Anyone any ideas or combinations you made that don't go much beyond the 60cm range because I love their 50cm height so much!

I received my Zuri last month and finally had some time to finish up her look. I just love how sturdy the body is, so easy to handle, and looks amazing I can't wait to take her to the countryside, I have so many clothing and photo ideas for the summer...
