On the preview pictures the head is a Fresh skin head (blushed to match) on Normal skin Supia body with Elfdoll hands.

I have a Merry head on a Senior Delf girl body. I have an April Story at home too, that looks like it would make a decent match.

 

That sounds pretty wonderful looking, I'm thinking of putting my incoming girl on a Two.S.Doll body, it's been interesting researching different bodies that might match or not match for that matter.

 

The Two.S.Doll body I have at home also looks like it could match.
I hope to see your girl, when she gets home! There's not too many Merrys around.

 

Mine borrows a very old Angel of Dream girl body v. 2. It was originally a white body, but it has long since mellowed to a more normal yellow looking color, and works quite well with the Merry Doll Round normal resin.

Did you ever take any photos of your girl? How is the MDR resin match the Luts resin?

That looks like a really great color match, she's pretty adorable with that red hair too.

 

So far I only have this. I can get better photos in a couple of weeks, when I go visit my friend who has a better camera.
To me, the match is decent, but I'm not too picky when it comes to match.

 

Thanks for the awesome photos! I've been still comparing skin tones and what not as for what body, but I am still leaning towards that two.s hybrid. I should have her home just before November so I will probably try he on the few SD girl bodies I have at that time.

 

I was playing around with a ton of dolls at a friends house today and I got to see an elfdoll body in person and I am starting to think that would be a better match for her style wise at least. Resin matching wise... Still not sure on that one.

 

I got my girl's head in yesterday, and I tossed it on a Dollzone WS body I had, the color match is not so great, but it worked really well proportionally. (A lot better than the Elfdoll body actually). So here she is not matching at least for now. (I have a DZ body in NS on the way for her, hopefully it will match better.)

 

Hopefully my April Story girl body will ship soon, so my Charlotte can get on her real body!

Thanks so much! I love seeing the other Merry's too, I had another update to Caroline's style. She's still rocking the ruffles but I just really like her in that short burgundy wig, so I tried something new with her.

 

Since there is only a thread for Merry Doll Round's mold "Merry" I'd like to start one for her beautiful sculpt "Fang"

Recently I had been able to get a Fang head on the MP ...but havn't been able to get the Walnut Body. So I had to plan my very first hybrid

For the body I have been chosing a Dollstown 13yrs girl body because DT's resin is of the same color (DollShe color chart) as the MDR sculpts which are casted by DollShe. This way I could be pretty sure that the resin match would be a good one. Another reason to get a DT body was its similarity to the original Walnut Body...small breasts and rather chunky legs. The measurements of both bodies seemed to be NEARLY equal ...neck circumference of the Walnut Body : 9 cm...neck circumference of the DT body : 8,7 cm...that sounded very good to me. But in the the end it turned out that the neck -hole of Fang's head must be smaller than described The head is fitting on the neck but is sitting very high ! Proportion-wise I think my first hybrid is not too bad...






On the next picture you can see how high the head is placed on the neck...

Fang is a gorgeous sculpt - it's so sad that the artist doesn't seem to release any more dolls.
But do post more pictures of her, please - she's really stunning!
The hybridisation seems to have worked out pretty perfectly and I love that the lines of the body go perfectly with the soft contours of her face.

First off Congratulations she is lovely, and I adore the name you have chosen for her, secondly it's nice to have a thread started about the beautiful Fang girls.they don't get nearly as much attention as they should.

She is exquisite and I think overall the body works for her. I was asked to share photos of Tao another Fang sculpt that is also a Hybrid girl, having went with a Customhouse Cee body because I liked the delicate features and match of the body with her.

My Merry Charlotte finally got her real body. An April Story girl body. I had a fight getting the head on the body though.
Here she is with her two sisters.

 

This is my little one Pooky Boo, she is a Merry with an Infinitidoll SID girl body with Illussion Spirit jointed hands. I mod a little the picture ( erase the joints and made the smile of her) I love so much this mold!!

Fang is so absolutely gorgeous, but I'm not sure how it is the artist works? Does she do only pre-orders and if so, is there any schedule to how she does them?

 

I'm under the impression that she does pre-orders, and if I am remembering correctly I think the news posting for the next pre-order will be for Fang, but the Merry Doll Round site has been down for a few days, at least for me anyway. Are others having the same problem?

I visited MDR site like everyday since the last April poll, where JinXed declared the next pre-order would be right for Fang! But nothing happened since then, I tried to contact her many ways (personal e-mail, DoA, Flickr) but she never answered So I guess that, at least for the moment, her dolly business is on hiatus.
I'm so happy that I eventually found a Fang to buy, she has this amazing sculpt that I adore!!

About the MDR site: for me it works almost fine, the only thing is that when I open any page, a pop up window with a web-hosting adv appears, dunno why!

And answering the question about pre-orders: yes MDR dolls were only be available through pre-order system, but for now, as I said before, the project seems on hiatus

I hope she's able to pick production up again, if it's simply a matter of convenience that's put her on hiatus. Something serious, of course,e is another matter.

 

I'm planning to have one of MDR girl... but it seems the hiatus will be quite long... so sad

 

The artist JinXed has been "disappeared" for a long time, probably for personal matters, but I think she lost the interest in the hobby and in making dolls. I haven't seen her on Spanish forums or in her twitter since February. The only news of her was from a friend who talked with her and it seems she doesn't plan to sell dolls again, or at least for a long time ;_;

It is a pity since she has wonderful dolls but I understand her because it is not profitable to be a small doll artist here in Spain with all the taxes we have to pay.

 

I really love the Fang head, congratulations to all that have one ^^.

 

Angelic_Pretty, thank you so much for your lovely compliments on my Moon!!! I'm sooo happy and excited for you to get a Fang yourself...can't wait to see your girl !!! And yeah...I made the same experience as you : I stalked MDR-website everyday during the last 7 month to find that nothing happened there. Then I started different ways to get in contact with JinXed (her website, email and PM on DOA...nothing worked) At least I managed to get my Fang on DOA's MP...and that's the only thing I can recommend to all of those who are wanting one.

Speaking of resin comparison, I took a couple of pics of my Oriental Skin Fang close to a Mirodoll body (that I bought for my Elfdoll Rita), maybe it can be useful to know that the resin match is pretty good^^ Fang is a bit paler and her skin tone tends to be more grey-ish compared to the Mirodoll body. But the match could work:


And Fang close to Elfdoll Rita [NS] and Elfdoll Eun-A [WS]. Elfdoll NS is not a good match but WS could be ok, not perfect but still...

Anyone has a Souldoll body to compare their resin with the MDR one? I may want to try a Souldoll/Fang hybrid^^

 

I completely understand the respect the artists decision to no longer produce these dolls, but it is so disappointing. I fell in LOVE with Fang when I first saw it, and knew she'd be the perfect sculpt for my Yue (CCS) doll; a gorgeous, beautifully ethnic sculpt with an expression just neutral enough to work magic with! Y'alls are SO lovely!

I hope everyone had a great new year, I got a new DSLR so I've really been enjoying taking more photos of Caroline. I changed what body she was on but I think this one actually matches a bit better resin wise. Here she is, bunny ears and all!

It is fantastic !!! From all of the BJD boys I've been watching during the last years De Leon is one of the most outstanding ones. If you will ever think of re-homing him (I'm kidding, Dear, I know this will never happen, haha)...please remember meeee!!!!
