Oh yes! What a fantastic gift. Fang and a Zuri are so gorgeous and are both on my wishlist-- but I've bought too much this year already. But it's Fang. Ah, MDR girls are so gorgeous.

 

Wow, the cookie skin MDR girls sold out within 10 minutes. Holy smokes.

 

Ah I'm so disappointed - Nuria said she put the dolls up two hours ago when I messaged her at the time they should have gone up! I checked and re-checked the right timezone time, and got up at 2:30. No cookie Fang for me!

 

I am so disappointed I missed the stock girls. I was really gunning for Olathe. Agh, I have my Ophelia to keep me company while I begin the long journey of posting WTBs and searching for one haha.

 

After a year of coveting Zuris in the wild, I have my very own coming soon thanks to the stock sale! I fully expected that they would all be spoken for by the time I was able to check the site.

This is not the MOST financially sound decision I've ever made, but... Zuri.

My only regret is that Dango has to wait for another day.

Can anyone help me out with understanding Merry Doll Round's color choices?

Mousse and Bunyol are on preorder for the next week or so, and I would love to buy one, but I'm torn about the colors! The available colors are Strawberry, Chocolate Milk, and Chocolate. I'd like something "tan" because most of my dolls have light skin, and I'm leaning strongly to Chocolate Milk, but it looks different in all the photos.

Is it more of a medium grey-brown color (dark like Dollshe Pale Tan, even if the tone is not the same) or is it more of a lighter tan (like Dollshe Copper Oriental, Fairyland Tan, etc.)?

Strawberry is a pleasant pinky white color, Milk chocolate is a...hmm a bit darker than copper Oriental, and fairly cool toned imo. Chocolate is like a Hershey bar!

 

Thank you, @Tsuki56! I was using the Dollshe colors as an example, since I have some pieces of Tan and Copper Oriental on hand. The Chocolate really does look like a delicious color!

Can someone point me to pictures of the new komerobi body? I just realized the preorder schedule for this year!!!

 

I vaguely remember seeing something about the bigger MDR heads (Ophelia, Olathe, Fang) being resized for smaller SD bodies, has that already happened?
It's a major bummer for me since the majority of my dolls are SD+, any smaller than 60cm doesn't fit scale as an adult, and I really don't see these lovely sculpts as kids (maybe teens, but most teenage girls aren't growing any taller...)

Hey guys! I was lucky enough to get an Olathe during the pre-christmas mini-sale but am now really struggling to find her nice shoes, do you guys have any suggestions? (Nice black or red heels or something please! Trainers seem to be much easier to find but not applicable to the character sadly.)

This is Charlie, my MDR Ophelia. She’s a hybrid and I’ve had her since 2015. I decided to quit the hobby back in 2014 but the Ophelia preorder on 2015 made me come back in an instant. She’s my grail doll and I love her so much! If it weren’t for her, I never would have returned to the BJD hobby.

 

Oh, @indollgence , she's lovely! What body is she on? It looks like a nice hybrid.

I'm very inactive here, oops! I would like to get to chatting here more often, but life gets in the way. It's easier to just post on Insta.

I'm still waiting for the renewed!Fang preorder, whenever that is. I'm patient, I know that this girl will be worth the wait. ♥ At least we have time to save up!

Loving this thread, my grail girl is Ophelia on a DT body - I managed to snag a Fang and love her sculpt so much. It has definitely made me decide that my next girl will be Ophelia if I can find her!

Hello,
I just finished my Olathe. She had been in her box since getting her and 4 months ago I took her out intending to work on her. I didn't, she had been on my shelf all this time. This past weekend, I seen her sitting there, and I had to discovery who she is. I'm absolutely in love with her . I'm so very happy!

I've been so busy working on my tinies that I had completely forgotten about the big girls and boys!

 

But it's done now.

My problem now is that my Merry's Luts body has yellowed (quite nicely) but her face has greened! She looks like she has a zombie head - Waaah!

I'm gogin to try dusting her with some red toned pastel over her existing faceup to see if that counteracts it, otherwise I'll have to strip of her lovely faceyp and see whether it's har rein that has greened or whether it's the sealant.

Either way - Poop!

Hello! I just got a Zuri on the second hand market, but one of her hands arrived broken. The pinky snapped off (presumably in transit).

she's on the Petrichor body in milk chocolate. Does anyone know good matches for hand size? Resin color would be a plus, but I'll settle for tannish and paint to color match if necessary.

I'd just glue it back on but I'm constantly dressing my girls, so it'd keep breaking the glue I'm sure...

 

I'd suggest gluing it back on in the meantime and seeing how it goes while you're lookking into sourcing a replacement - I did this with one of my girls and it lasted for several years, despite constant dressing and redressing. I still have the glued hand a back up in case anything happens to the replacements.

I'm bummed she said that the small Fang won't be in Cookie. I hope a tan Fang in the new size comes out eventually.

 

Mine is on the loongsoul 58cm body in normal pink. I think it's worked out pretty well for her!

 

I have my MDR Ophelia on a loongsoul girl body. I love the match! Though one day I hope to get the new komorebi release.

 

My Fang is on a Feeple 60 body. My F60 body is older, from the original f60 release, so her color has mellowed. It's a decent match with my Fang and the proportions are fantastic. You can see my girl on my doll profiles.

 

Congratulations to everyone who purchased a Fang before her head is re-sized. I look forward to all of your pictures.

By any chance does anyone here have a MDR girl on a Petrichor body, pictured beside a feeple60 girl? If so, I would greatly appreciate seeing the size comparison. Thank you

 

I've seen her with feeple, now that my girl has arrived. I'm so in love with her face, curves and her amazing posing ability!! So glad, I was able to bring this beauty home. Please meet Ize, mdr fang in cookie. I look forward to sending her for a face up in the fall.

Not me - I'm still trying to work up the courage to wipe my Merry's faceup so I can see about de-zombifying her where her head has greened. I love her faceup and am worried I won't be able to get it back to looking like her.

Excuse me intruding, @Teddy , but is your Merry in a tan or white skin colour? Is greening a common occurence with MDR dolls? I have a normal skinned Ophelia and am watching her anxiously now...^^

 

What resin colour are you hoping for? Personally, I really want either chocolate or Cocoa.

Not that I've heard of. I've not seen any mention of it happening to other MDR heads. I think I've just been unlucky

@Teddy Thank you for the picture! On my old laptop screen it sadly doesn't come across at all, but I'm sorry it happened. Is it even all over her body or just in some places? Do you think sunlight could have caused it?
As most dolls go rather yellow, I wondered if she was tan or white skin, since these are resin colors who have on occasion been known to green. I have never heard it happen to a normal skin tone before, but I guess you learn something new every day...
My doll is from the 2015 pre-order, do you happen to know when your Merry was made?

Another shot, but I don't know if it will show it any better...

It's just her head, her body is from another company and has yellowed evenly all over, the head has greened rather than yellowed, for some reason. Her hands haven't yellowed as much because they're newer (the original hands were badly modded when I got the body).

Unlikely given that the greening of the face and the yellowing of the body are pretty even. I suspect it's just aging and "mellowing" of the resin.

No idea, I'm afraid. She came to me second hand, but it was back when Merry was still the only sculpt available, so I think she was one of the earliest ones.
