I have both. The old head is just significantly bigger. And she made the eyes more symmetrical.

I do have both! They are also very different. Tbh they look nothing alike. It's a completely different design in my opinion.
The original body was more full. The new body is more in lign with her coppelia sister dolls I would say.

 

Just dropping in to share some potentially helpful reference photos I recently purchased two pairs of Supiadoll hands (one pair is Rose Pink and one is Peach) in order to see how well her resin might match my MDR girls. They arrived today and I took some photos, just in case anyone else was considering this potential hybrid. Sorry if the lighting isn't the best, it's 9:30pm here ^^'



Both of these heads are Strawberry skin- the hands on the left are Peach and the hands on the right are Rose Pink. I think both hands represent about an 80-85% match with the heads, but the Peach is more yellow than Strawberry while the Rose Pink is paler. I think either could easily be blushed to match depending on the faceup.

I have bought an art-bimong 58cm body to try with these girls as well, so I will post more references once it arrives. Hopefully we can all find the hybrids that work for our girls (and good luck to those buying Tsubaki heads in the upcoming pre-order!)

Work got super busy so didn't have time to undress and put them next to each other. So I have The petrichor body with my olathe head(cookie), the new fang (caramel) and old fang + old komorebi body (cookie).

A while back, my friend @Alice80 picked up an older MerryDollRound body that turned out to be the wrong colour for the Merry head she has. While visiting at the weekend, I tried my floating Acorn BJDs ChaCha head on the body and, while not a perfect match, it's well within my tollerences, so I bought it from Alice (luckily I've been paid since my disasterous first-five-months-of-the-year ended so had a little bit of funds to draw on) and now have a body for one fo the floating heads.



Unfortunately, I still have my lovely cookie-skintone Berry head as a bodiless entity to deal with.. so tht's an ongping situation

I am curently in serch for a body for my Fang head and was woundering if anyone knew of any good options?
Specificly if Maskcat 58cm or LoongSoul 58cm body works?
I do happen to know that Supia doll is a good match, but I would prefer something with a bit more posability hence my question.
But any other tips regarding matces would be highly apreciated.

 

@Firebirde - Do you have the original Fang or the new smaller Fang head?

I don't have a Fang but I do have an Olathe. She's one of the smaller MDR heads (Ophelia being the largest, I think). I think she's similar or a bit larger than the new Fang?

Personally, I like larger heads so I find the Maskcat 57cm body a little bit too big for her, but if you like smaller heads and/or have the larger Fang you might love the combination. I will certainly praise Maskcat's work any day of the week - beautiful sculpting, lovely posing (the 58cm is supposed to be even better), and reasonable wait times!

In case it helps, here's a photo of Olathe on the 57cm body (most of which is covered up since it is "Normal" skin and doesn't match)

MDR Cookie is not a match for Maskcat's Tan, which is redder, more on the orange scale (it is supposed to match Volks Sunlight apparently). Cookie is a softer, less saturated color. In this photo she has Bimong "New Tan" hands (supposed to match Fairyland Tan), which match quite well. However, I will say I previously owned another Olathe, also in Cookie, and she seemed a bit more orange, so older releases may vary.

I have seen MDR Strawberry in person and it is on the pinker side. Maskcat "Normal" is more of a peach. But blushing would probably fix that pretty easily.

And I should have clearified that I have the newer smaller Fang head, in the skintone strawberry. But as you stated blushing can sort it out, if the tones a of a bit.
So I am not to concerend about that, mainly focusing my search on something that looks good and has great posability.

 

I have a DollsTown 7Year biy body on order for my Berry head. I decided it would make a cute little boy.

|The colour match is off (DollsTown Copper Oriental is a chunk lighter than MerryDollRound cookie) but it's close enough for me (and I can't get the diffwerence to show up in any of the comparison photos I've taken with the head and the resin sample from DollsTown, no matter what light I put them in or whether I sue flash or not)

This is the picture taken with flash, which shows a tiny bit of the colour difference, but it's much more obvious in person.

The DollsTown Copper Oriental 7Year boy body I have ordered for my MerryDollRound Berry head in Cookie skin has arrived in the UK, so will probably be with me soon, but I'm still saving to send the head (along with several others) off for a faceup

My DollsTown 7Year boy body in Copper Oriental arrived today!



I think that the Berry head wil make for a cute boy on this body, and while the Copper Oriental Skintone is a deal lighter than the MDR Cookie skintone, it barely shows in photo's and is close enough for me, in person.

As soon as I've saved enough to get them painted, I'll be packaging up this one to go over to visit @Jay the next time she has openings in her faceup schedule for the several heads I have waiting.

Oh my goodness, all of the dolls look so good. This is one of the dolls I want to own one day, especially the mini ones. Dango is so pretty.

 

Hey everyone! I'm here with a seemingly age old question - what's the best resin match for Cookie lol. Ive read through the replies and looked at countless photos. I definitely think I prefer the look of the Maskcat body (though with the newer Fang heads being smaller and the smaller SD Maskcats no longer being available I do worry) but it's my understanding the match isn't great. I've been wondering if maybe ANS light tan would be a match? I've heard the ANS light tan is a close match to iplehouse special real, but I've not found any comparisons between any of these resin colors. I dont think I'd be too picky, I'd choose a better looking body match than a better resin match. But if anyone has any new insights itd be greatly appreciated
