Maya almost finished! Blue Maya pics added.(NUDITY)

Aug 24, 2006

    1. "ooooooo

Are you going to maybe make extra bodies for those of us who bought heads to purchase? ;D "

Me too Me too, I have been shoping around but have found nothing that really matches the slimness of your girls.

YOur ghostly blue girl is so beautiful. Like a fairy child caught in the snow.

    2. Yeah, I would love to get a body to go with my Maya head, too!

    3. Hi Senna,

My body molds are deteriorating badly and I'm planning on remolding the parts
over the Christmas holidays so, if the parts don't shrink in the molding process, I will be able to make bodies for those who have bought Maya heads.
I'm planning on correcting some little flaws the present body has before I remold so hopefully it will be a better body.
Keep your fingers crossed .. OK!!

    4. Kaye, your blue Maya is utterly and ethereally to die for . . . best of luck on her auction!!

    11. OMGZ is that Nutella? hehe

I LOVE your dolls~! I'm so envious of your sculpting talent!

    12. Bene, I'm glad to see you got her:D She looks very mischievous there!! That wig looks really good on her.

    13. One word... WOW

    14. OMG!! THEY ARE SO AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!
i dont have a dollfie, cos it cost to much, and i am from argentina, so it is a little bit hard to have one..
so now im working on heads made from clay, but i dont like the final result, i dont like the texture, so now i want to try with cold porcelain..
can you tell me if the cold porcelain is good to make a bjd doll?
cos i really have great skills drawing and sculping, but i dont have a good material..so if you know something..plis tell me..
YOUR DOLLS ARE AMAZING! I HAVE TO REPEAT IT! XD

      byeeeeee!

    15. Hi chavanne,
      Thanks for the complements :)
I use Sculpy to sculpt my dolls .. I'm not sure what you mean by cold porcelain??
Some use paperclay to sculpt too.
      Good luck making your doll.

    16. ok!
      oh..by the way..
the cold porcelain is normal porcelain, is like clay, but much better, cos it looks more delicated..
oh..and, one question, how do you make the same doll so many times?
with a mold of the original?
      how do you make it?
and the last one..xD..when you have the mold, wich material do you use to fill up for make a new doll with the mold?

im sorry for the bad english..
remenber that i am from argentina..=P

      bye!
      and thanks for the advices!

    17. Hi Chavanne,
Your English is fine so don't worry!!
If you scroll through this thread http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61538&highlight=mold
Patl does and excellent explination on how to make a head mold. There's lot's more advice throughout the artist BJD section so if you can find some spare time it might help you to search through the threads and read all you can about moldmaking and casting.

      Have fun,
      Kaye

    18. Wow. She's so beautiful, you're very talented.

    19. She's a gorgeous elf

    20. Argh...Her face literally took my breath away...She's most definitely one of the most beautiful dolls I've ever seen, So angelic and ethereal and cute too, just how I imagine an angel to be!

      Phenomenal <3

    21. Here is a quicky of my Poppy. I love her so much and having been wanting to share. Will Spam...I mean update more pictures later.

    23. Hello!

I saw Blue Maya at Kagari's (?) Doll Booth at a local cosplay convention. I took a photo because I thought she was extremely special and initially thought it was a LE of a doll company. Was randomly surfing and found this thread!

http://sgcafe.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=286&pos=12 (In case the photo didn't work ^^)

She is extremely gorgeous and looked absolutely professional- great work!

    24. wow so skillful.... great work ^^

    25. wow they look all so nice! Great job on sculpting here she came out amazing!! :D

    26. OMG!!!! Your work is great! I had seen your doll on E-bay before, but I coudn't imagine later I would be able to post on your thread! :D Seriously, she 's wonderfull (and your fingers as well^^) :D

    27. AW! she's sooo cute... -rushes off to work on own doll-

    28. Your dolls are all so amazing. I love the transculent skin they have. Are you still using the clear resin? I may have to try some when I get my doll completely sculpted. I'm just worried because it says for industrial use only on the smooth-on page.

      Michelle

    29. Hi Michelle,
I love the smooth-on clear resin but it's too toxic for me to use so I've switched to Polytek clear kit. It's not as deadly!!

    30. WOW! Just.. WOW!

    31. Kaye, I love your Maya! Such a beautiful work! I love her eyes!!!

    32. What a gorgeous doll! Everyone says she looks angelic, but to me she looks quite mischievous! Well done!

    33. This will seem odd, because... well I finally had to admit to myself last week that I was not going to be able to make Maya work for me. Her head (as that is the only part I owned) is on its way to a fellow Coloradan who has exquisite faceup talents and some marvelous plans for her, and I'm thrilled that I'll still be able to see her!

Because, you see, the lack was not in ANY way in Kaye's beautiful doll, but in my inability to give her whatever it is that she needs to blossom.

Including, at the beginning, anything like a decent faceup  Gosh, I was bad! Poor dear, she stuck it out, though... and I just want to show you how very beautiful she is, even as she prepared to make the trek south an hour...

I can't wait to see what she can become in the hands of a truly gifted Mom! :)
Thank you Kaye, I loved having her here.

    34. But she looks truly beautiful..I love that white wig on her...:fangirl:

    35. Have you made a MSD girl ? sorry I may have missed it I would love a msd blue girl so much!!!!

Is blue Maya cast with Polytek with blue dye added? she really glows.

    36. oh my.. i would LOVE to have one of your creations!
they're so different to most of the dolls i've seen.. plus they're aussie like me:)
do you only sell them on ebay? in fact.. are you still selling them at all?

    37. OMG I love her! Her face is just adorable! Do you sell these dolls as one-of-a-kind or in LE? Would love to learn more! I love the girl in blue, too! Is that a tint, or paint?

    38. Hi Merry and Maria,
I make one off doll and sell her on ebay and I make small editions and usually sell them in the marketplace here on DofA. I don't have any dolls for sale at the moment but I'm planning on having someone cast the resin pieces for me in future so I can offer larger editions of my dolls.

I tint the resin to be whatever colour I feel like doing at the time and I will continue to make different coloured one off dolls for ebay occasionally. I'm hoping to do a green doll (I want to call her Poison Ivy) sometime in the future :)

    39. OMG! A pale green Poison Ivy would be certainly beautiful with the translucend resin.
Just because I can stop taking pics of her... (and not for spamming your Maya's thread! LOL) this is another pic of Tiya with hot red wig and new winter outfit...

    40. I don't know if I ever commented on your beautiful girls, (so I am now X33 ) I stare at them every time and just go O___O The ayre so preety! The resin is such a neat look, you said it's clear resin, do you add powder or liquid color to to get that lumonious quality? I love the big lips on your girls, and how you do the soft makeup. Their bodies are just as wonderful. :D

    41. Yes, it's clear resin tinted with a liquid tint .. it's thickish like paste and you only need a small amount to tint the resin .. I usually add white when I am mixing colours as it makes them lighter coloured and less transparent.

I'm working on a couple more blue girls at the moment .. hope it's OK to share pics here!!?

I used just a speck of blue tint for them and mixed with a larger amount of white paste tint. They are a delicate light aqua blue. The blue comes out with the aqua tint because the resin I use has a very slight yellow tint. If I wanted a pure blue I would have to use a resin with no colour at all .. like Smooth-on crystal clear .. I love the smooth-on crystal clear resin but unfortunately I have severe reaction to it :(

    42. Ohhh I love that top girl....back to pinching pennies I think >< lol

    43. Kaye, your dolls are just toooo cute:love I adore them, especially blue ones:D

    44. She is absolutely GORGEOUS. I LOVE her nose and lips. Great job!!!

    45. WOW! Amazing work! :aheartbea

    46. Actually, cold *cast* porcelain is porcelin that isn't fired, aka, it uses a different bonding agent to become hard. traditionally, that agent is a polymer resin. So, you would end up with a doll with the look and feel of porceline (if she/he was sanded down all over), but with the strength and durability of a polymer resin. I don't think I need to explain how *cool* that is. :D

    47. Shes very sweet and i love her breasts :)

    48. The eyes and lips are really stunning :D

    49. Oh I love the blue! She is very ghostly and mysterious :)

Which brand of clear resin are you using? I had wanted to try and ge tthat translucent look mysekf on stuff, so that's how you do it :D (liquid dye! - I always thought it was using powder dye). You gotta be careful that clear resin too, mot of it is UBER bad for you. XD Be sure to be safe! (nitrile gloves, mask, paper everywhere)

    50. Such a masterpiece...I love...everything about this doll. Her eyes..her chin...OMG her nose ><.

      Simply beautiful....you are very talented.

    51. Wow, she is really beautiful! I love blue dolls and the pink hair is a nice touch. Always great to see people playing with resin colors.

    52. I stumbled across this thread while looking to see how easy/difficult it would be to make dolls as I have a very distinct idea of what I want, and feel I just have to comment on how stunning Maya is. I always admired the doll in your avatar/icon picture and wondered who the maker was, now of course I realise it was you. I simply adore her, her features are so versatile and that mouth....she has such an ethereal beauty.

I am sorry to hear that you are allergic to resin and finding doing what you love difficult, but glad you are getting assistance now on that matter.
The newer girls you are working on are to die for as well. Looks like they'll be added to my wish list of future dolls ><

If I were wearing a hat I would take it off to you!!

    53. :)Your dolls are very cute, you color contrast your dolls perfectly (skin tone matching with the wigs, eyes, and such.) I love watching your progress!

    54. Ohmygod. This is a rather old thread (I hope your still working on your lovelies! ^^) and I ABSOLUTELY love your dolls! I LOVE the colors, they are absolutely beautiful.

    55. a friend showed me the kazekidz dolls, and was so disappointed to see that they were so hard to get...
but seeing their creator on DoA is great : i'll be able to see loads of pretty pics of your beautiful creations ! anyway, i think you're doing a wonderful job with them :)

    56. Ahhhh, Kaye... again I am in love:love That's not hard to do with your dolls.

    57. WOW!!!How did I miss this post!!Kaye I kiss the bottoms of your shoes!! You are truly gifted!!I would LOVE one of your dolls!!Particularly in a MSD size!!You shine!!!!

    58. Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. Sorry I have neglected this thread for some time. I've been busily filling my Mallory orders and I'm finally getting to the end .. phew!! Seems like they have taken me forever!!
I hope to have them all shipped in the next 2 to 3 weeks and then I can start on new stuff! Yippeeeeeee!!! Can't wait to get creative again!
