I just came in here to post (yet another) photo of Des and Aura... I've been making them a Christmas setup. Yes, I do just keep them together in that chair all the time... They're cute, I can't help it.

 

I got an email from Alice's Collections that they have my Doll Leaves Laura! Only (minor) problem was I ordered her blank, and she came with a face-up. So I could wait for the company to send a blank one or pay half price for the face-up. Of course I paid a little extra to have her home soon. I've got too many blank dolls anyway.

 

Oh congratulations on the soon-to-be-arrival! Half-price faceup isn't too bad, either--at least she won't be sitting around blank!

Surprisingly, the two on either end are both Cordelia, but one is dramatically more egg-headed than the other. Very interesting.

@eldi I'm curious- how did you get the bjd heads on the monster high bodies? They look good

 

I loved the last doll comparison! I have the MYou 27 cm Gina, and 20 cm Laura. Both dolls are adorable, but it's easy to see how inferior Laura's body is. The torso is too big for the rest of the doll, and the legs are a bit short. I'm now thinking about that 21 cm AE body, only $165 plus $30 shipping. Originally, I justified getting Laura because she was only $209 and I was ordering another doll, so the shipping was practically nothing. Now I want a $200 body, for a $409 doll ... not at all cheap!
I've also ordered eyes with smaller irises, though the current 6 mm eyes look ok.

Thank you! I'm pleased with the result and it's not too hard to do. For the taller one, I just cut out the neck peg piece entirely and tied a piece of elastic around the cross-beam that's inside the neck. Then I tied a bead onto the elastic to hold the head on.
For the smaller one, I needed to shorten the actual neck more, so I sanded down the neck and then glued in some elastic and put on a bead.
I'll update with a picture when I get on my desktop!

Yeah, the Laura body is frustrating. I ordered Cordelia to be her own doll but I felt her head was kind of small compared to my others, so I tried the headswap out of curiosity and... she got body snatched Clover (my Laura's name) is one of my most developed doll characters so she deserves a more poseable body. I like the proportions of the other hybrid better too, since it's a smaller head on the shorter body.

And FYI on resin matching, I have both in NS and AE's resin is a bit lighter and pinker though definitely within "blush it and you won't even notice" range imo

 

@eldi oooh that makes sense! Lol now I'm going to look around and see if I have any heads that'll fit monster high haha.

 

I just ordered a Veiruodis from Junky spot! Merry Christmas to me...I can't wait! I love seeing all y'all's tinies!

 

I got a shipping notice from Alice's Collections for my Doll Leaves Laura.
But it could take from 10 days to 2 months for her to get to me.
The tracking says the package has been handed off to shipping.

 

Mine should be here tomorrow! I did pay the $20 for "DHL" shipping and they shipped her by Fedex!

 

This is a bit belated, but I took a silly holiday party photo with all of my mature 1/6 dolls in it (except a couple who aren't painted/wigged right now). The only two missing are my Xagadoll Ken, who has no wig or character now that I've made Graves into a Granado boy, and my Compassiondoll Elvis who is waiting for winter to end so I can paint him. I thought it might be fun/of interest as a comparison photo!

So I can't remember where I originally posted about shoes for the Myoudoll tinies but I figured I could do it here and in the Myoudoll tinies thread. Someone at some point had mentioned that Tonner shoes fit them. I went looking and was immediately overwhelmed and didn't know how to find the right shoes. I never saw a response but I kept looking... and looking... and I think I figured it out!

I found this page that lists foot sizes.
Myoudoll's feet are close enough to 1 1/2" I think that they should be able to fit shoes from Tonner Tyler and anybody else with a 1 1/2" foot on that page. I think Socks/tight will help make up any extra room that might be too extra.

So I did a search on Etsy for 16" Tonner Tyler shoes and found all sorts of stuff. I'm not sure how well they will do in heel shoes but I think I may try picking up a heel and a flat soon.

Sorry if this is old new, but I'm sure it can't hurt to be repeated + I'm too tired to try to look.

I made everyone's clothes except for Tyche's outfit, Ethan's outfit, and Emrik's shirt. Nothing is newly made, just many pieces I've sewn over the past 7 or 8 years.

 

Does anyone have both Myou Bettina and Gina? I'd love to see a photo of them side by side, because I'm having a heck of a time differentiating them in their company photos. I have Bettina & I'd love to get Gina and Vieruodis soon, but I've been wondering how different they actually are in person.

I just put in an order for Myou Reid earlier today for this reason. Oh also, in case this would be helpful to anyone buying Myou's mature tinies, I was able to get Rod's fullset outfit and shoes for Reid through Alice's collections, it seems like you can mix and match items at least from any dolls that are the same size if you ask

 

Does anyone have wig suggestions for Vieruodis? The wig I have is a bit too big or fluffy, the cap wants to either go over her ears, or if it sits behind them it falls off. Either way her ears aren't visible..where can I find something wispier so her ears show and it fits behind or around them?

 

@kittyglitter Have you looked at Etsy? I’ve been looking there for wigs for dolls lately and have ended up with some fun ones. I haven’t bought any for my future Gina & Vieruodis yet, but there are some pretty options on there. I’ve been searching “4.5 bjd wig”

(My Bettina’s wig is from DDE & I don’t recommend haha. Cute, but doesn’t fit as well as it could)

 

Yes I've looked, I think the problem is I'm afraid of buying more things that won't work lol I wanted to know if anyone had any specific "this exact one right here" the wig she has is a 4-5 so should have fit. But I appreciate the response and will keep looking

 

I can't remember where I saw it but someone recommended Parabox for small wigs. They have very specific sized ones on there.

Unhelpful answer but I got so fed up of trying wigs that didn't work on my tiny dolls that I decided it was easier to learn to make them Hard caps are a lot easier to stay on such a little head but I don't know of anyone making them for Myou specifically yet

 

Just wanted to share because I'm so delighted—I got Aurelie and Des their completely-normal-not-at-all-odd dog, Shadow, from a maker in Russia... He arrived yesterday, which was must faster than I expected!



Also I'm afraid I have to echo the unhelpfulness re: wigs... I got so frustrated with finding them I started making my own. Which has been satisfying and fun, but not exactly the best solution for everybody...

I was expecting to have to wait until late February for my Doll Leaves Laura, but she arrived today! She's cute!

 

Asleep Eidolon has the 21cm and 26cm Freya available again until 2/15/22. There is a choice of normal or elf this time. There are some outfits too but I've had very long wait times for clothes from them!

Ah I'm so tempted by her! I was trying to find what the order window would be, on their IG everything said 15/1/22-15/1/22 which I did not think was right!

One thing holding me back is remembering that shipping for 21cm Cordelia cost me $70 She weighed almost nothing but the box was a lot bigger than the doll

I ordered a wig from AE for the 26cm Freya I got secondhand last year, and I’m so excited I’ve had enormous trouble finding her a wig, and it’ll be nice to finally order one that I’m 99% sure will fit.

Shipping was admittedly really really expensive for just a wig, but I was willing to pay it just to finally be able to get something for my girl.

 

I got my Asleep Eidolon order yesterday, and a pair of tiny hands and 6mm eyes were shipped in a box near big enough for my Doll Leaves Laura's box! At least the resin is a much better match for my DIM Alana than the Dollmore ones, and they came with S-hooks. Her original hands have the hooks imbedded in the resin. Now I just need to putt her new ones on.

Added: I had to untie her arm elastic and tighten the body elastic, but Yin finally has hands I like. They are a bit pinker than the rest of her since she's 8. They'll age to match eventually, since my Xagadoll who's only a year newer than her is a near match in color.

 

Is everyone aware that Atelier Momoni has Momonita Windkle and Somni Azure available for preorder until March 5? I saw it on Facebook, but I haven't seen anything about it on DoA.

 

I changed my Vieruodis's (Val) clothes and eyes, someone asked about wigs...this one is a smidge big for her, I use a bit of putty to keep it on. It is a Popovy size wig that I got from a seller on etsy and I think it fits her really well. I don't like wigs to be poofy at all and I really like this one on her. I braided it but you get the idea

I don't have any wigs by her, but I would definitely try them! It may be a bit big but a little putty and playing around with placement they should work

 

Unfortunately she is taking a break but I will get an email when she's back.

 

Ahhh! I missed out on AE Freya. She's so cute. I hope there'll be a 21cm one on the secondhand market later..

 

@theplushfrog you can still order Freya through LegendDoll, they have a deal with AE where they can get x number of limited dolls made even after their availability is otherwise over. I recently ordered AE Cordelia through them myself. ^_^

 

Oh @digi this is terrible knowledge I didn't need... I love the new Freya(s) and Cordelia... Phew. Must... restrain... self!

On that note... Did anyone order one of the Cup Fairies from Tonocha or the Nina's Doll Blooming girls? They're so beautiful! I really hope both artists do another round of preorders, because they are just too cute--and I can't put any more dolls on order until summer! All these lovely tiny girls, my heart can't take it...!

There have been so many new, super cute additions to the mature 1/6 category... Compared to when I first started collecting them (five, six years ago?) there are so many now, from so many different makers! On the one hand, I'm really happy this scale is becoming more popular. It's my favorite, so it's nice to have options and to see more around. On the other hand, my wallet and doll storage space is constantly crying at me.

@Idoru Tonocha's Cup Fairies look like they've got great posability, especially for dolls this small. The only mature 1/6 doll I'm waiting on currently is a Lucent from Granadado.

 

I'm waiting on the 15Lucent, too. Still don't know exactly what I'll do with him but I just couldn't pass him up.

 

Oh, those Cup Fairies look lovely! I had not heard of them before. I can't afford any more dolls right now, but if I had some extra money, I'd order one, especially in Taro... Purple skin is my weakness. There are so many good-looking mature 1/6 girls out now, it's amazing. I'd love to see some more good guys to match, but I don't think anyone will release the type I want, or if they do, it'll be while I can't afford one!

 

I'm waiting on Lucent on the 32Evolve body, though the extra tiny one sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to see pictures!

Has anybody heard anything about the Dollshe mature tinies? I'm thinking of waiting until my Granado order arrives and then contact the dealer to say I've given up after so long a wait. Yes, I'd like to have him, but the Dollshe company should not get my money for something that will never exist.

 

I wrote to Dollshe in October to ask about my Fashion Mini Bernard (because it had been three years at that point) and I was told, in essence, that they hadn't even finished the 3D modeling on those, let alone started prototyping, because the order levels were so low. (And did I want to switch to a different, bigger doll that already existed?)

I'm still holding onto my order out of sheer stubbornness, but I'm not holding out any hope any more. Barring a miracle those dolls are never going to exist.

 

This has been my impression, too. Seems like he's just not going to make them. I mean, I'm hoping you get your boy, Gallye--that's such a bummer. I'm a bit glad I didn't order my own tiny Bernard, but man, I wish he'd stuck the landing on these, I would have been overjoyed. I love my bigge Bernard but I'd have loved even more to shrink him down... Ah well.

 

Same deal with the 55cm that he did the pre-sale for ages ago (I'm gonna be forever salty about that one). I was super excited at the idea of getting a 50-ish cm Saint in espresso ebony. Never got to the prototype stage to the best of my knowledge and it's been 4 years.

I did recently get to see/play with one of the 44cm boys that a friend bought 2nd hand and he was adorable. For all his faults, Dollshe does make beautiful dolls. A mature tiny Dollshe would've been very cool.

 

Oh how beautiful! I'm obsessed with that mermaid tail... Alas, I've already spent my doll allowance for now. I guess I'll just wait for people to post theirs so I can live vicariously! XD

 

I have actually ordered one of the Blooming line Nina Doll ! It will be my first BJD, I can't wait to have her ! The artist did an amazing job on them. Did you order one yourself ? I saw the preorder was extended until later this week
