Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

Mar 3, 2020

    1. I just discovered this thread, seems like a good place to post about my Shelma Dolls April!
[IMG]New Wig by Skyealloway, on Flickr

I posted her box opening here if anyone is interested:
      /threads/shelma-dolls-april-a-very-tiny-girl.840176/

After her box opening I made her a wig and switched out her eyes. Still trying to work on an outfit that suites my fantasy roleplaying theme of my other dolls. I saw Dollheart was running a sale, and found an outfit made for Obitsu24 that I decided to try. I think it will fit (well, not the shoes) OD000005 Devil Caster [OB24]

I'm pretty excited for the outfit, its not what I originally had in mind, but the top and jacket seem like cool accessories for my impish gal

This is my first mature 1/6 doll, I enjoy stealing accessories from my husband's action figure collection haha. Hopefully sometime in the next few weeks I will work on her faceup.

    2. She is cute! I like happy dolls and she looks VERY happy!

    3. Oh she has such a smile!! I hope the outfit works for her, because that seems like such a fun combo!

Also, I am LOSING IT over this new version of Cordelia!! I have two dolls on order already but... Wow, she's so cute. So many Azone outfits I could buy for her... Ahhh. Tempting!

    4. I saw the news about Jamieshow Muses coming up. Anyone have one,

    5. Not personally interested in the Jamieshow Muses dolls, but some of the outfits... :drool I have a blue fairy who would look awesome in Look 2. Not sure if I'm willing to spend that much money though.

    6. Squinting veeeeeery closely at the preview images, it looks like they have painted eyes instead of changeable eyes, so the dolls themselves will probably end up off-topic, alas.

I have some Jamieshow clothes and shoes for my larger dolls, and I like those a lot! The Muses have such nipped-in waists that I'd worry about these clothes fitting most of my mature tinies, though - I'm not sure any of them have such an extreme hourglass figure.

    7. They have the blank unassembled photos of the body and head already up on their website. They do have sculpted eyes. (:

I really like the body proportions, and faces I wish they weren't strung, resin BJD.

    8. I was casually digging through Legenddoll, and I came across a 31cm guy I'd never seen before: Mr. Bunny Z from ArkDoll! He's super handsome... He looks like he's a scaled-down version of a 70cm boy from ArkDoll. I love that companies are doing this more, because I love that 70cm boy look but absolutely not the space they take up. (I have one Dollshe boy and he's all the leggy man I think I can have in my current living configuration, haha.)

I probably won't get him (unless he's available for a while) because I have two dolls I'm waiting for right now, but... I just love that face and his body lines! He looks like he'd fit right in with the Granado boys.

And! I also come bearing comparison photos. The other day I dug out every mature tiny currently in my possession and lined them up (more or less) in height order. They're in various stages of completion (and wig-wearing...) but I thought it might be good to see anyway:

From left to right, we've got: Granado Napoleon and Lucifer, Soom Mini Gem Rick, Xagadoll Ken, Compassiondoll Elvis, Limhwa ToYou Mari, Xagadoll Mini Ann, Xagadoll Sylvia (boy), Unoa Azurite, and Maskcat Feline. (Plus an off-topic girl, a Mudoll/Glib Apple Biki on the Obitsu 24cm body—for comparison.) There are some more close up versions on my Instagram, if you want to see them.

    9. Love Mr. Bunny Z. Thank you for the great comparison photo, you have awesome dolls! My favorite small size BJD is the 19 - 21 cm doll, but I've been eyeing the mature 30 cm for awhile.

I want to get a body for my Shadow but I'm not sure whether I like the Zen body better than the Adagio. :sweat

    11. Oh, man, I like Mr. Bunny Z. (And what a name!) Maybe I'll add him to my someday list - after all, mature tinies don't take up much shelf space, right? Ahaha. :sweat

    12. I sent BJDivas a polite inquiry about the tiny Dollshe I've waited over two years for. Apparently making them is harder than expected, so they won't be offered again. Those that are already ordered will get made and sent, though. I roll my eyes and laugh when I think about how ridiculous this wait time is. I want my tiny Hound, so I'm willing to wait.

    13. Ahhh oh no. Well at this point, I'm not SHOCKED to hear that they won't be offered again, but I am sad. I was sort of hoping they might be, if Dollshe ever got his act together... I did have vague ambition of a tiny Bernard, but alas. A dream that shall remain just a dream. (It's not like I don't have plenty of other dolls to keep me occupied, haha.)

      • x 5
    14. Ha, yeah, I have one of those 33cm Dollshe Bernards on endless order myself. I guess it's... actually it's not all that much of a relief to be told that they'll eventually be made. I mean, it's Dollshe. How much do I believe that? Will they just keep endlessly promising me the doll and hoping that I forget about it?

Still, I've long since written off the money, so I'll just... let it ride. Maybe some day I'll get a nice surprise.

    15. I got tired of waiting for the 33cm Dollshe Arsene. I cancelled the order and got a refund.

    16. Did you order through BJ Divas? It’s been over two years for my Aramis, and at this point I would rather have a refund, but I don’t know if that’s possible.

    17. How did you contact them? I’ve emailed every two months, but never get a reply.

    18. I sent them an email using the email address from the order confirmation email they sent me. I usually get a response within a few days.

    19. what a delightful face!

    20. Man, I like these slightly-pudgy Photosynthetic Girls, but I wish you could also buy their wigs and shoes in addition to their dresses! Still, they are just super cute.

    21. Oh they are SO cute, wow!! They're a little out of my price range for this scale but wow I love them. They're so cute and soft-looking... I love the sculpt of their tummies, ugh, so cute.

    22. Those realy are pretty! But are they on topic? They seem to be lacking ankle joints, but I don't know the stance on that now, they have become a lot more leanient on what body configurations that can be discussed on DoA.

      • x 1
    23. Oh, man, I did not even notice that! You're right - they come with three sets of legs and none of those have ankle joints, so they may end up being off-topic. Well, phooey.

    24. Oh I hope not--they're jointed everywhere else like all other BJDs... We'll see, I guess! They're super cute though, so I hope they stay on-topic... I want to see them if someone gets one!

EDIT: Oh, I just double-checked the rules, and wrist joints are required but not ankle joints. So I think they're safe!

    25. Mods just confirmed in the news post for them that they’re on-topic to boot, so we’re more than good! I’m glad since I love the bodies quite a bit... I’m definitely going to make some room in the budget for one.

    26. Wohoo! They are very sweet dolls.

    27. Quiethousedoll Nabi is my most favorite out of all my tiny mature dolls.

    28. Hi there! Glad I found this thread. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get wigs for mature tinies? I recently got an Asleep Eidolon Mini Freya secondhand, and while she's absolutely lovely, I'm having a huge amount of trouble finding a wig for her. I've purchased three different wigs, NONE of which fit, leaving me with a lot of money spent and a still bald doll :(

    29. i've tried a monique 4-inch wig and the circumference matched pretty well. the one i had tended to slip off easily, though a small rubber band might solve that...

      • x 1
    30. Thank you for the suggestion! I've ordered a cute blue wig in size 4 for her. Here's hoping this one fits! Otherwise I may just have to wait until AE makes another mature tiny - I'm kicking myself for missing Cordelia's wig.

    31. If you're willing to order from Taobao, there's a few stores that make wigs that should work on there. (Like Fuga!) Actually, if you check Xagadoll's Taobao page for the male version of the "special body", they recommend a few shops. (Xaga and AE are sister companies, and I think your girl is on the "special body".) Glib also makes some wigs in that size! I'm not sure what you've tried, but 3/4 wigs should work for the most part.

Personally, I make my own because I'm very fussy about that Puff Factor and it's hard to find tiny wigs that don't have that issue. (I know not everyone wants to deal with learning a whole new skill just because they're Fussy though, hahaha.)

    32. Parabox is also a good source for all kinds of tiny wigs (and shoes, and clothes). I'm pretty sure that most wigs made for Obitsu 11 dolls will also work, or at least kind of work.

    33. Oh yeah, Parabox! How could I forget Parabox... They're great for a lot of things!

    34. Does anyone know where I could find alternative hands for my 2013 DIM NS mature tiny? Hers are so small and paddle-like.

    35. I have a Dollmore 12" or 1/6 scale doll - actually, I have one in resin (Celia Kidult) and one in vinyl. The vinyl doll is essentially the exact same as the resin doll, just in a different medium. Both are attached with teeny tiny S-hooks. Interestingly, the vinyl doll head is about half a centimeter smaller in diameter than the resin head. On the resin head, you're going to likely need a size 4-5 wig and something to glue it down. The vinyl head needs a straight size 4 wig (or a stretchy size 3-4 - but then again, I like my wigs to fit tightly).
The hands are slightly larger than, say, Barbie, and are very delicate. Personally, I love them. The vinyl doll is a tan color comparable to a Latina Barbie. The resin is very pale, like a lightly tinted white.

    36. My DIM girl Yin was very pale originally, though she's yellowed a bit in the 7 years I've had her. Maybe if I get her the Dollmore hands they'll age to match her. I decided to try ordering them and will see if they work for her.

I've also ordered clothes from several different places in the past week, mostly for my skinny mature tiny ladies. I hope most of it fits!

    37. I am not quite sure if these qualify as mature 1/6 dolls, but they are 30cm and don't fit the typical "child/YOSD" style of many tinies - I follow the artist on Instagram so noticed them when I checked the feed yesterday. They are new 30cm dolls by DoDollsDream and they are really cute (I love the stylized body proportions).

    38. does anyone has a doll by Murvenart?
i just found their Fables series (28cm) and i really like the body sculpting with Alice head, pretty elbow and knee sculpting...oh i wish it's 40cm range :eusa_pray

    39. took a pic of all my tinies, and even if they're not all supposed to be 1/6 I figured I might as well post them here?

    40. Ahhh what a great lineup! And you got a Sylvia boy too! 83c Hooray! This is fun to see, thanks for posting. ♥

    41. Sorry for the double post, but I just HAD to show off my two newest! I wasn't expecting my Sylvia to come so quickly, but a week after I got Des (the Granado Garden), she showed up at the door! I... was not ready! But I can't complain, they look SO cute together. I'm just over the moon, I can't shut up about them!

(Des continues to be extremely handsome...)

I almost am never even TEMPTED to get two of the same head, but Sylvia broke my resolve. Not only is it the perfect mold for this character, it's just... Too cute. I love it so much. She needs new eyes though—these make her look a little too sleepy. I'm planning on trying my hand at making resin eyes soonish, since my spouse bought epoxy for a different project.

They're both wearing Clear-Lan clothes--I believe Aurelie's are OB24 size? (I can't remember, but I'm fairly certain that's what I got.) They fit PERFECTLY on her, which is amazing! (Of course, I haven't tried pants...) Even the bust darts in the jumper! I also got her another dress and a sweater, not pictured.

Des' clothes also fit him really well (he's on the Adagio body), although the pants gap very slightly around the waist and they look absurd when he sits. But he looks wonderful when standing, the length and fit through the leg is just ideal. The shirt is great too--fits him wonderfully through the shoulders and I will sing Clear-Lan's praises forever for the way the sleeves are made!

    42. Sorry for super late reply, but I actually emailed Limhwa in April? via their website and got no response. I ended up buying second hand.

    44. I got a little roombox from Laserlines on Etsy, and while I'm not 100% satisfied with it yet, I just had to take some photos of Des (Granado 30Garden) and Aura (Xaga Sylvia).

I just love how easy it is to do dioramas and stuff for this scale! * v * It's so much fun.

    45. Oh my gosh thank you @Tagath for sharing! I've always wanted a morningstar girl, but the timing might not be right for me this time...still, I've got time to think about it

    46. They are so cute! So pretty! So sassy!

    47. Wow she's so pretty! :D

    48. Amanita is so cute! I wonder how she'd look with my others.... Gosh that's tempting. I probably shouldn't but what a face!

    49. I also got a little roombox from laserlines and finished it today. Dare got to model in it because I bribed him with food. It works well but you do have to angle the camera if they are standing. Though I will probably add a couple of cms of wall to the top.

    50. I got my first slim 1/6 (an Asleep Eidelon Cordelia in the 27cm size) and am having fun finding clothes for her since she can wear Blythe clothes and Createable World clothes and shoes. But I'm having a really hard time finding her a wig. Where do you guys buy such tiny wigs? I believe my girl needs a 4" and with Monique now closed, that went my usual wig supplier. :/

    51. Dollmore and Parabox - Dollmore has good sales, and Parabox has excellent size options. We're talking 3.5", 4", 4.5"... all the way up to 9.5".

    52. Finally got a shipping notice for the Dollmore hands I ordered two months ago for my now nearly 8 year old DIM Alana. I hope the resin color isn't too different.

    53. If someone is looking for an even smaller girl, Doll Leaves has decided to re-release Laura, their 20cm girl:
      Laura,DS Special Edition,DS Special Edition-doll leaves
(The website doesn't have the new order period listed, but they posted about it in News!)

She also appears to be available on Alice's Collections and Dolkus, if you prefer those. :)

    54. Poor Rune looks like a kid wearing his father's suit, the outfit is so big on his skinny Zen body. I think it's cute and so does his brother Dare.

    55. I just looked up Doll Leaves Laura, thanks to @Gallye, and man she's cute. But I just ordered another Granado guy, and Pipos has the frog I regretted missing before available just this month too! Why must all the cute dolls I want be available at the same time?!

I had other plans about what doll I wanted to order at the end of the year, but other doll companies are always changing my plans.

      • x 1
    56. The frog is adorable but Laura is irresistible!

    57. Laura is super cute! I find her posing a bit poor, like what's shown in the promo images is about all that's easily acheivable- standing straight or general lounging. I still love her though and recommend her anyways.
