    8. This is a pretty late announcement, but I got my 57cm body on March 4th! Exactly 6 months and 1 day after I ordered it and a Dollzone Merlin head. I love it so much! I was worried about fumes from off-gassing, but it doesn't really have much of a smell--maybe a bit around joint slots where concentrated fumes from the inside can escape, but that's only if I hold her right up to my nose. I plan on doing a box opening post some time soon, but I keep procrastinating.

    9. @dunceclown : Goodl luck! It will come, I remember waiting for my fullset Maskcat Yaël a year back, during COVID, and it was torture. XD But it will come!

Unfortunately, light isn't that good for photos those days, or on the days there is enough, I am away from home. Here are two pictures taken, the day Willow came home, one as a portrait, and one as a comparison for a hybrid. (As usual, please ignore the background, I am, again, in a temporary home XD)

    10. @lyaam12 oh my goodness Willow is beautiful!! I think she looks even better than the promo pics! I love your styling of her with the moody black wig <3

      • x 1
    11. Willow is lovely! Nice to see the comparison between her and your Frances hybrid, too. They look great together!

Those stands look nice, too! I need to get one at some point, but I'm not sure if the saddle style or the "waist pinch" style is more secure.

      • x 1
    12. @dunceclown : She is stunning. I am so happy with her face, she is quite peculiar! I actually regret not having ordered two, but oh well. I hope you get yours soon.

@StellaMarigold : I only own saddle style, since my dolls mostly wear long dresses/tunics/robes, so I wanted it to be discreet. I found those particular stands to be a fine. I worry more about where the rod meet the wooden part, which I reinforced. (I got them on Aliexpress) It could also be that I tried to make them fit my hybrid, which is simply just too heavy.^^ In short, I think it's fine for a short period of time, I wouldn't worry too much, but if I have to leave for long periods, I wouldn't feel too well to leave them on those stands, I would prefer them sitting in a doll sofa or in their boxes.

      • x 1
    13. @lyaam12 - Thank you for the information on the stands! I don't think I could bring myself to trust any doll in any stand for long periods of time (such as all-day display, etc.). Sitting down is the safest way to go for my peace of mind! Mostly I'm thinking about photographs and clothes-making.

I know what you mean about wanting an extra head for Willow. I almost always want extra heads (to make a sleeping head if the eyes are open and vice versa) but that can lead to going a little head crazy! I have four of the original Bimong Dandelion heads (two in NS and two in a paler NS) and no body for them yet

      • x 1
    14. @StellaMarigold : In that case, those stands works fine for photographs/clothes-making. Of course, you still have to be careful when handling the dolls, but I do not think that they are flimsy. I chose one on the pricier side (you have cheap stands made out of plastic, I imagine they are lighter, and would perhaps be fine for a small and light doll, but not for my Maskcat and certainly not for my Argodoll hybrid. Wood as a base is better, though of course, you can always go all the way and try to find an even heavier base, like marble, stone, etc. (Or in doubt, tape the stand to the ground while dress making?)

Lol, having alternative faceups for all my characters crossed my mind, but I just didn't want to shell out another 140 USD at that time. I'll just have to make do with one stunning head! XD

      • x 1
    15. @lyaam12 - Thank you! That's helpful information. I would definitely prefer a wooden base for the larger dolls.

    16. I'm waiting on a Claire now. She's such a pretty doll! As soon as I saw her, I knew she would be the perfect doll to be my Lottie, the main character of a story I've been working on. I'm very excited for when she eventually gets here. :)

    17. my Lisette has shipped! she's supposed to arrive tuesday!!! so unbelievably excited! <3

    18. I just got my notice that Frances has shipped!!! Yay! I ordered her December 27th with a face-up.

    19. I got Francis today! She is amazing!!! I have another picture over at the Maskcat 57" thread. She came in the new, beautiful box but I had trouble opening it:lol: You unsnap the buttons on the leather straps first (I had no problem there.) but then you push the buttons with the little locks to the outsides of the box - That was the part I had trouble with. I pushed them up. I pushed them in. I even thought - "oh no, they must be locked!" :aeyepop::lol:At least it really built up my suspense! Anyway - the detailing on the hands and the feet - The ballet feet in particular - are fantastic! Well, here she is - My ballerina!

    20. I just ordered a Maskcat Inez (In stock) in normal skin! She will join my tan Joy and my NS Feline of that same size! It will be great to have the 3 girls together!

    21. I got notice this week too!! How exciting!!! Your reply gave me a good idea how much longer mine would take to ship, and the speculation was right! Thanks!

    22. There's a NS Willow head in stock @ Alice's, maybe someone is interested.

    23. I got my Willow last week and have to say She is a beautiful doll.
and the heads of the maskcats are so big, I really like that, I'm used to smaller dolls.

    25. Just ordered Astrid. I’m so excited, I am just in love with Maskcat’s sculpts and face-ups, especially hers. I just couldn’t stop thinking about her and checking her page, so I finally bought her! I’ll be sure to post pictures, maybe even do an unboxing thread/video.

I love seeing people excited about getting their dollies! The pictures you all share help ease the pain of waiting and are also very informative as they show what they look like in person.

    26. Oh wow, she is just precious <3 Thank you for sharing! I love her innocent look. Her face-up is perfect and her outfit compliments her so well! I was a bit iffy on the smaller Maskcats but this makes me want one now.

    27. I just got the email about half an hour ago that my Claire is on the way! I'm so excited! :whee: I wasn't expecting her this soon. It's a day shy of two months since I've ordered her. I'm happy I already have her eyes and glasses. Though, I don't know if her wig will get here in time. She might have to use the long one that no one is using

      • x 4
    28. Congrats! That's amazing that she shipped so quickly! Only two months? :celebrate

      • x 1
    29. Ty, and yeah, I was so shocked! I didn't think she'd out 'til July at the earliest. She's expected to get here next Wednesday. Luckily, DDE had a wig that fits her character since it will be a bit before her real short one comes. I'm just going to imagine that her hair grows a bit over the course of her story

    30. My Claire came today! I still can't believe I got her not even a full week after the second month mark of waiting. She's gorgeous, and just as I thought, the perfect doll for shelling my character, Charlotte. She's gorgeous, and I love the outfit that I bought for her. The wig and eyes she came with were also really pretty. I'll use them for other dolls in the future. Definitely the wig. I really liked it. The trunk was also really nice too, and I find it so funny that she arrived on my mom's birthday and the birthday in her CoA is my papa's

    31. I am waiting on an in stock tan Feline, I did add the faceup option so it will be a few weeks before she ships. I can't wait! I have had a Maskcat on my wishlist for a while. I am very tempted by the SD size.
I swore I would stick to the 1/6 scale but I do kind of miss having an SD, and they look to be super poseable, which the SD sized dolls I have had were more limited (Dollfie Dream and Smart Doll) I read somewhere that the SD Maskcat dolls can fit in Smart Doll clothing, and there is a TON out there so that makes getting an SD even more appealing to me.
If I love Feline, I may cave and get one of the big girls <3

      Edit:
I just ordered Yael. R.I.P. paychecks.

    32. I just ordered a full doll Maskcat Astrid in tan and a Yael head in Normal skin to hybrid with an MLA body I already have. I am really excited for them to join my Francis - and of course, I am really excited for the jointed hands gift!

      • x 2
    33. I recently ordered Astrid in normal skin! I'm very excited as this is both my first MaskCat dolls AND my first real BJD!:cheer

      • x 3
    34. @Dinadi - Congratulations! I hope she arrives quickly! Astrid is a wonderful choice for a first bjd and the skin tone you chose is very pretty and versatile (my Juni is in the same color).

    35. Thank you so much! I'm very excited, I've already got an outfit for her picked out and ready :whee:

    36. Ordered Astrid in tan skin today! Will be my first Maskcatdoll & SD girl, so very excited!

    37. Those who received shipping notice or received lately, when did you place order?? I ordered 1/3 body in early January and getting little impatient:whee:

    38. I placed my order for a full doll with faceup February 7th, and a few weeks ago I messaged the artist to ask for an update on my order. On April 19th they said that in two weeks they think they'd be able to start work on the faceup, so May 3rd.
So I'm thinking probably another few weeks for my order at least. :)
I assume they do the bodies in batches, yours may be from the same batch as mine, so maybe very soon for you if you just ordered a body!

    39. I ordered a bust stand and a mannequin in late December and they arrived last week! I believe the Chinese New Year slowed them down a lot. But both are beautiful and were worth the wait!

    40. In late December, I ordered a full tan doll (Agnes) with all hands and feet and an extra head (Yael) - both heads with face-ups. A week ago they emailed me to confirm my address because they are going to ship soon but I haven't heard from them since so soon, I think! getting very excited!:celebrate

    41. @Dollquest - Oh, exciting! I look forward to seeing photos of your Agnes if you want to share - I think she has such a unique beauty, but there are hardly any owner photos yet, especially not in tan!

    42. Actually it is Astrid that I ordered - lol - I got the names mixed up. Sorry!

    43. I also ordered Astrid! I got mine in normal pink skin. No word on shipping yet for me but I'm very excited still.

    44. I got a notice that my tan Astrid and my natural skinned Yael head shipped today!!!! Yay! I can’t wait!

      • x 2
    45. :(
      I got the notice too!!
But! I ordered outfit in February and body in January. And I got notification only for clothes :aeyepop: They said they could ship both together and refund the extra shipping fee but there would be no refund if they are shipped separately

    46. Well, you can’t use the clothes without the body…

    47. Clothes is for my MSD and the body is SD. They said they could ship them together

    48. I received my Astrid yesterday - along with my Yael head. They are both so beautiful!
Here is Astrid looking as moody as ever!:love

Awww congratulations!!! My package is arriving later today too:D I really like your Astrid's faceup! It's enhancing her features really well!:love

    50. Astrid is so pretty and her skin color looks so nice with that lavender shirt. This isn't their newer tan skin, is it? (I believe they changed it recently to maker it redder and match better to Volks tan color).

    51. I need to dig out my tan Agnes head from last year and compare. I hope it isn't too different though because I really would like Agnes to have a body someday!

    52. @Dollquest - I just checked and they only posted about changing the tan skin color on April 19, 2023 so it is very likely that your doll was cast before then. In that case, it should match the older head.

    53. My first 1/3 Maskcat came in tonight!!!
Well, I only ordered the body and a dress for my Anemone. Now I understand what people say Maskcat body poses like a dream! Here is a link to my Instagram for box opening. You can compare Volks white (Erato head), Nakana Normal (Yvonne), Maskcat normal (Anemone body), Maskcat White (the new 1/3 body), Volks Normal (Anemone head) for skin tone comparison and Maskcat 1/4, Maskcat 1/3, Nakana 1/3 for size comparison

    54. What a nice comparison!

The body is truly wonderful, isn't it? I really struggle with bodies (I have many floating heads because I can't find bodies I like for them) and the 1/3 Maskcat body was the first one I found a true pleasure to handle. All the parts work together so smoothly and the resin is so soft and well sanded.

I recently received a bust in the white color and absolutely love it! I'm dying to order another doll in WS (I have one in NS now) but I still have to wait for a bit - I have my eye on another preorder that will have to come first.

    55. Except I haven't bought the body for the older head though. :nosebleed

    56. They resin match for you. I have a head matched to Volks Normal. I'm sure they can match to old skin tone too, if you ask :)
