Maskcat 57cm Dolls - part 2

Ahhhh I love that even in a big group photo like this I'm still so drawn to Astrid, it really makes me feel good about my choice in sculpt!

 

Astrid is def one the prettiest! Her sculpt fits anything you can imagine! She's the only doll out of the other maskcats the looks good in any hair colour!

 

Long time without showing my Lisette here!



I don't know if I will ended up buying an other Maskcat (I already own to many dolls) , but I still find them so pretty!

 

Oh, this is one of my favourite Lisettes! Because of her I've started to consider buying a second one in tan skin, especially after the artist's recent refresh of Lisette sculpt

Such beauties! I really can't get enough photos of how elegant the Maskcat 57cm body is, and how well it poses.

So, since I recently got a Maskcat girl (Yael) and then immediately hybridized the body with a Feeple65 Carol head, I thought I'd share a photo :



The resin match is surprisingly close... :O

Oh my goodness, Astrid arrived and she's absolutely gorgeous!!



I replaced the eyes she came with with some sparkly brown ones.

 

She's beautiful! I like the change of eyes!

The company faceups are so pretty - I especially like the soft eyebrows and the treatment of the eyes. I always buy blank dolls (it makes it easier for the faceup artist I choose) but options like this make it tempting for my next Maskcat order!

 

The faceup is soo pretty and detailed too! It's not super visible in the picture I posted but she's got little lines under her eyes for eye bags, it's so sweet-looking.

Recently I redressed my Juni in Marie Antoinette style; one of the day gowns from the old Haute Doll collection. Juni does rococo romantic quite well --


I confess to being on-the-fence about her after she arrived, as she didn't work for reshelling one of my old characters, but as I slowly try different styles on her, I'm warming to her potential, and to her being her own character

 

@beamlette - She looks so pretty in that styling! I love that wig and dress!

I purchased my Juni to shell an older character myself, but I think she looks a bit more mature than that character, so I'm still debating (I may try Ronia for that particular character and keep Juni as someone else).

Juni does appear more mature than other MaskCat sculpts; her blessing and curse, lol!

Soooo many gorgeous dolls!!! I've been scrolling through and looking at them all. I just ordered a Francis in normal skin with a faceup and it's in-stock. So it should be shipped and hopefully here by Christmas. They are having a 10 year anniversary sale so it's 10% off. Which almost equaled to free shipping for me in the US. Does anyone have a favorite seller for clothing/shoes for these girls??? Hope everyone had a good day today and if you were in the US you had a good Thanksgiving.

 

Congrats @Reslie please take lots of photos of her when she gets here, she is just too cute I’m having a hard time deciding between her and Agnes I probably won’t be able to get a Maskcatdoll this year (and definitely not until I weed out my collection a bit) but I need an SD girl still to round out my current SD size squad and I want it to be a Maskcat girl

What clothing style were you thinking for you Frances? Something similar to Maskatdoll style or maybe more modern?

 

Oh hooray, I've been hoping for an Anniversary sale! I don't think I can choose between Margo and Ronia - I'll just have to get an extra head (which is fine, I can always use one for wig-making). I'm also really tempted by Nerine, buuut three heads is a lot X)

She's very pretty - she reminds me a bit of a cross between Margo and Astrid, actually.

The only thing that worries me a tiny bit is that Ovilia's head size seems slightly smaller than previous sculpts (and Fleur, a newer Maskcat sculpt, also had a smaller head). Since the characters I shell in the MC sculpts are young, I like the larger head sizes of Juni, Ronia, etc. So I hope future head sculpts won't keep getting smaller! But that said, I'm happy they keep releasing new work.

Edited to add: @Reslie - congratulations on the in-stock Frances! She's so lovely and the MC body is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in this size (such gorgeous hands). I hope you love her in person!

In terms of clothes/shoes, basic 1/3 items seem to fit pretty well (although the body is slim). I'll link to my page where I tried different shoes (it includes where I purchased them): Maskcatdoll Shoes

 

Hello, I discovered Maskcat's dolls recently and I'm very much in love with their 1/3 girl body and am thinking of putting my girl's head on it, so I was wondering if anyone with a Maskcat from 2020+ onwards has a Switch doll in Powder Beige from the same time period to compare resin matches?

 

My Maskcat 1/3 body came in and...



This box!! I cannot believe how well this is constructed. It even has little straps you need to undo (via a magnet). If anyone else gets a Maskcat 1/3 doll, I'll give you a tip. The little circles on the front that look like keyholes need to be pushed to the side for the box to open. That took me a good 15 minutes to figure out.

Anyways, they are a lovely company and so quick! They shipped the body, new casted, in less than two weeks. Crazy.

Hopefully I'll share a full pic of my doll. She's just not ready yet.

 

Don;' feel too badly. It took me even longer to figure out how to open my first Maskcat trunk. They are really nice and can be handy for storage and for props when taking pictures. Can't wait to see your doll. I love the poseability of the maskcat bodies. The dolls are very beautiful too!

 

Does anyone know if Dollmore Youth SD girl shoes fit on Maskcat heel feet? I want to make a second order before the sale ends but I might not be able to try the one pair I already have beforehand.

Late edit for posterity: Dollmore Youth shoes fit perfectly. In fact they're the best fitting shoes I've tried yet.

 

I got the new 57cm shoes in the mail today! Going to take a few proper photos after I get some rest.

@SaltedPretzel I want to take actual doll photos but I'm a bit knocked out from a root canal
I love that they come in little shoeboxes.

They're fit for flat feet, which I like because all the other shoes I have are heels. The ties over the tongue are elastic so they stretch for socks. Dunno if it shows in photo but the white shoes are a cool white.

Scrolling through the beautiful Maskcat girls in this thread should be considered a form of therapy. I can't wait to own a few of these beauties someday Love that the company-made outfits, wigs, and shoes are such high quality!

Hello all, I did a quick search in the thread and I can't see if anyone has ever answered if Maskcat white skin would match Volks WS. Anyone know?

 

So far all I got to understand is that Maskcat WS is "V White" which I assume is Volks white (not Pureskin White which is supposed to be a snow white kind of color).

 

Thank you so much! I'm about to have a floating Volks white body and I was ranging around for what to do with it. At least I might have some choices now. ^__^

 

@vermaxen You should definitely send a message to Maskcat for confirmation, they always answer quickly and patiently.

 

Seconding what lutke said! I've messaged them a few times (on the website) and they've always responded quickly and in a very friendly fashion.

 

I had a head exact match to Volks white and tried on Maskcat white. I find VW creamier and MW pinkier. Either way, you can always brush to match. they seems to be on the same lightness.

 

FWIW I did send them a message and they sent back "Yes" along with a picture of a Volks head on one of their bodies that had been sent to them by another customer. So.... Maskcat thinks yes their white and Volks white match.

 

Banyo has confirm with me that volks white is similar to maskcat white.

Lisette is a lovely sculpt! I recommend searching for photos on Instagram, you'll probably find quite a few owner images.

I don't have the best set-up for photos right now, but here is my second Juni. She's so beautiful! I almost don't want to get her a faceup, I like her blank so much. She's is in WS, but I also have one in NS - the plan is for the bodies to share other heads.

The hands are Bimong's jointed hands for his 53cm body, but they are perfect for her since the Maskcat body has such small and delicate hands. The color is "Skin D," which is just a bit darker than Maskcat's White. The dress is from Melody C (they have such pretty designs).

 

She's beautiful (definitely one of my favorite sculpts by Maskcat)! You know a doll's the real deal when you already love them without a faceup.

 

That's very true! I always judge sculpts by how much I love them when they are blank. All my favorites (Juni, Bimong Dandelion, Dollmore Mio, etc.) are enchanting to me regardless of faceups, wigs, and eyes. Although I would like them to have those things eventually haha! I have to decide whether to attempt faceups myself or send them to professionals, though.
