Maskcat 26cm Line Discussion part 1

Jul 13, 2017

    1. @Gerda_89 I think the different measurements are the old body vs the new body, although I could be wrong! I haven't measured my Feline who is on the first body, but that's my instinct...

Those eyes are so pretty @Oliveoil! The 8mm do have a much more youthful appearance. I'm trying to recall what size I have in Mimosa (my Feline)--I think 8mm? I liked the eyes she came with a lot, they're a gorgeous shimmery aqua, so I kept them. I think they're 8mm. I love seeing those two faces next to each other, it does really highlight the differences in the sculpts. Thanks for sharing!! I just want to squeeze my Feline in the middle for a full comparison, ahaha. ♥

    2. Guysssssss I purchased a feline second hand and she arrived last week:D I bought her as a BJD for one of my SD boys and I am obsessed with how adorable it looks!

    3. I tried to add photos from my Flickr but I don’t understand how it works wah:atremblin

    4. Thanks. I'll be waiting for your reply :)

    5. Love seeing all your cute girls here! <3
I hope to be able to buy a Feline by the end of the year. Already have some outfits waiting for her. :XD:

@tiikx You just copy the BBCode and paste here. Like this:

    6. @Gerda_89 Sorry for the delay. Just as I suspected it has to do with the head. Heidi and Gladys share the same body as Joy but heads are bigger. Here are my approximate measurements...
      New body - 24.2cm
      Old body - 23.7cm
New body with Heidi head 26.3cm

      I hope this helps.

@Idoru Yes you need to squeeze Feline in there! :)

    7. Trying again!!! [IMG]

    8. I think maybe I can’t do it from my phone? I don’t know but I feel silly haha :(

    9. It seems you only have this BBCode option from your computer.
Tried on my phone and wasn't able to do it either. Not even using the browser app.
It just gives me the link to the photo's page. Not from the direct image in .jpg

      I'm sorry I couldn't help. =/

    10. Ah right! Thank you that is a huge help! I’ll have to give it a go from my PC:lol: thank you!!!

    11. Hi all, I just received my Maskcat Feline in tan a few days ago and I wanted to share a quick pic. I just love her size and how versatile she is. She's everything I was hoping for and more :love

    12. She is so pretty. I love the tan color. Great wig! Did you make it?

    13. I love this wig, too @Oliveoil. It is a handmade wig, but I didn't make it. It came with an OT doll that I own and I was just lucky that it fit Feline. I'd also like to see her in a short hairstyle so I ordered a wig from TashkasBears on Etsy. You mentioned on the previous page that you bought one, too. Do you have a picture of one of your Maskcat dolls wearing it by any chance?

    14. It is a nice wig. Always fun when we have something that fits perfectly. I will take a picture in the morning. The color was not exactly what I wanted but that was my mistake. :)

    15. Joy can have such a vintage look.

    16. She can! Ahh I love that face. I promised myself no more dolls this year, but she's so tempting.

    17. They're both just lovely @Oliveoil. Those hats are fantastic!

    18. Thank you @Idoru and @Hmac58 ! The hats are for Kish Riley and fit perfect. :)

    19. My Maskcatdoll Joy arrived today and she's absolutely adorable!
And, she also poses like a dream :D I love her to pieces!

    20. She is beautiful! I love the wig, too!

    21. Congrats on your Joy she’s so pretty and that hair colour really suits her. I’m just asking, did she come with eye putty? Finally looks like mine will take a little longer to come since there was a mix up in the tracking number and I got the notification for someone else’s order from the US so my parcel wasn’t sent yet.

    22. @Calust

Thank you! Wig and eyes are the company ones and yes, she comes with eye putty. I hope yours will be shipped soon! She's very beautiful and poses so well!

    23. @Flaxen Hair Girl Yay that’s good to know about the putty! I could have had Joy shipped earlier but since Feline wasn’t done yet, I asked the creator to ship them at the same time. Anyways looks like you were right that DHL delivers fast, yours came the day you expected! Hope to see more pics too. I’m considering making an instagram account for my BJD related stuff. I see that some people use Flickr but I don’t really like the layout there.

    24. @Calust

Feline was my first choice but finally I adopted Joy and now....I think I need Feline too
These dolls are really lovely and well made!

Instagram is a good platform to share photos of dolls and get in touch with other collectors. I also have a doll account on Twitter and a blog on Tumblr. My Flickr account is quite old - I created it in 2006! - and I use it not just for my doll stuff but for all my stuff, in general :whee:

Another pic of my Joy, she can wear Azone ExCute clothes and shoes!!!!

    25. Thank you! The wig is the company one and it's really good!

    26. Great outfit! These dolls are very well made. The new body makes them even better. Was the the free wig? My only complaint is the $50 handmade wig is not worth it.

    27. Oh goodness, the more I see of these gorgeous doll the more I want one! And I swore I wouldn't get tinies but oh well XD

    28. @Oliveoil
I'm amazed by her cuteness and poseability! The wig is the company, free one. It was a nice surprise, because I didn't expect it would be so lovely and well made!

    29. I like the wig on her! I had no idea she can wear Tiny Kitty dresses! Good to know.
She is really cute. I like her in tan.

    30. Well, it's me again with more Feline spam. I made a new wig for her so of course we had to have a photo shoot :)

    31. Does Maskcat ever have sales or events?

    32. Last December they had a 6th anniversary event, where you got 10% off if you ordered 2 26 cm dolls with the updated body and if you spent $500 or more you got a free Nerine/Melody head.

    33. Good to know, shadow_taktori! But do I want to wait until December to see if there’s a sale...

    34. @Hmac58 I love the wig! The color is beautiful and love the streaks of lighter color. Well done!

@Peppermintsheep Events are nice especially if you are ordering more than one doll. I often wonder if wait time is longer because she has more orders to fill during events. I am too impatient. :)

    35. That wig is lovely @Hmac58!! The colors look so nice with her skintone. Very pretty!

    36. Thanks @Oliveoil and @Idoru. It's the first wig that I've made using ramie fibre and I have to say that it's quite nice to work with.

    37. I broke my Joy's elbow!!! :...(
Now it won't lock in place like the other one. It's a barely, barely noticeable chip but the effect is huge!
I asked Maskcat if I could buy one and have it sent together with Feline I'm waiting for, let's hope they'll do it.

Edit: I got a response immediately and they will send it for free!

    38. Sorry to hear about Joy's accident @Viridiansummer. It's good to hear that Maskcat has such great customer service though. I hope that your Feline and Joy's replacement part will arrive soon :)

    39. WOW! What a great company!

    40. Hey guys, I'm getting a little bit worried about my orders. It'll soon be 5 months since my first order and I have yet to receive any news from Maskcat. In August, I got the notification that two of my orders (Feline and Joy) were sent, but when I checked, they were delivered to a different address in another country. I contacted Maskcat and apparently there was a mistake and I got someone else's tracking number. She told me that my Joy was done but that she still had to finish my Feline's makeup. I told her to take her time and to send the dolls together when she's done. She replied that she will notify me when they're shipped. Again, this conversation happened in mid August.

I don't want to be annoying and contact her about that because I did tell her to take her time and all (and I am fine with waiting as long as I get my parcels undamaged) but I'm just afraid that she forgot about these two orders. I'm also waiting for my Inez who is yet to be shipped so I don't know if she's planning to ship all 3 dolls together? Anyways, I think I'm just looking for some reassurance here? I've been told that it can take up to 6 months for an order to be delivered.

    41. @Calust i think its definitely worth contacting her again. Banyo is quite good with customer service in my experience, so I dont think youd be bothering her. My last order did take a long time- over 4 months.

    42. Hi dear, please don't worry we made a mistake on last batch of 26cm doll(over 50dolls),their back can't place straight very well so i decided to make new, that made some of order delayed but some of them can be finished within a week.

And yes sorry for my mistake i wrote a wrong tracking number because i have 3 same order like yours XD

Please don't worry I will send your dolls asap when they're finished :)

    43. @Maskcat
Thank you so much for replying here! Knowing the reason why they are delayed makes me feel much better now.

    44. Did anyone here get their shipping notice yet? It's supposed to be sometime in November, right? I'm asking here because I don't want to bother the artist.
EDIT: Lol I just checked the status on the website and it has updated!!!

    45. My order status has finally updated as well! I placed the order in early July, so their 3-4 months estimate was a bit optimistic, but I've been through worse in this hobby.
Now begins the next adventure, seeing how the shipping will go in these uncertain times.

    46. I just got my shipping notice! :dance

Edit: Never mind that, she is allready here! The shipping must have gone insanely well. According to the tracking she was picked up on the 26th, if that is correct she moved from Hong Kong to Sweden in four days!

      She is so pretty!

    47. Congrats! Which sculpt did you get?

    48. Thank you. I got Joy in tan. :)

Edit to add a picture. I gave her a basic face-up today.

    49. Oh she's so pretty in tan, thanks for sharing! I love Joy's face... ♥

    50. Thanks! I'm super happy with her. She's a perfect mix of gentle and alert. I am very impressed with the body. The tiny feet makes it a little bit tricky to get her to stand, but other than that she is very nice to pose and handle.
Right now she wears the eyes and wig that came with her, but I think I want to find some brown eyes and possibly a darker wig. I do like the style of the wig, though, it's very close to what I pictured for her.

    51. I'm getting my Feline today! DHL actually tried to deliver her yesterday, but I wasn't home because I wasn't expecting it!
Shame, it would be such an awesome birthday gift

Btw, is anyone partaking in the anniversary event? I might get Inez and add the $30 needed to get the little cat doll, we'll see.

    52. @Viridiansummer Did Feline arrive? I was tempted to order Klara and get the cat but decided to wait. I have been looking at the Maskcat MSD girls. The cat is really cute. I have no idea how to paint it. :(

@Calust Did you receive your order? Hope you post photos soon.

    53. @Oliveoil Yes, I just got the package yesterday (the 4th)! I was so happy! I didn’t have time to open it earlier because I had to go to work (I work the evening shift.)

It's now about 3:30 AM where I live, I'm exhausted but I dressed them up with what I had and took some quick pics on a shelf because I really wanted to share them too! They're insanely cute and petite. Blythe clothes and shoes fit like a dream. Photos really don't do them justice, especially not my old iphone quality images. The wigs are also very silky and pretty and fit so well. I'm glad to have the trio in my possession. I'll try to take better pics in the future. Maskcat really makes some beautiful dolls! Just in case you haven't figured out which is who, from left to right: Joy, Feline and Inez. :D

    56. Thanks everyone! Now that I have more dolls, I feel even more passionate to practice sewing clothes and make a diorama for them over the Christmas holidays. Also, how good are they at standing up? I have some Blythe stands which fit perfectly at their waist, but I'm afraid that they'll fall down and break and so for now they're just sitting awkwardly inside my glass cabinet.

    57. I use stands for my girls. They seem to stand well. I just don’t want to take any chances. Sewing and making dioramas should be fun.

    58. Oh, sorry I wasn't clear enough. I meant how well do they stand on a stand (and not by themselves.) I wouldn't risk letting them stand on their own either. I never used a doll stand before so I don't trust them completely lol, I fear that the doll will fall anyways. But if you had no trouble with your stands, then I shouldn't either.
