@Haravanda I've seen it! And I can't wait for it! Maskcatdoll's Feline is actually in my wish list and I'm quite sure I adopt her as soon as the new body will be released! The additional ballet hand and feet are also very beautiful, I'm sorry I don't collect SD size dolls
@Flaxen Hair Girl ahhh I can't wait for a release time announcement! I do hope that the ballet hand and feet will come in the 26cm and MSD size as well though it might be difficult for the 26cm size since it's such a small piece.
Yes she can wear some Blythe clothes. This is a Blythe dress. I will post another photo wearing Blythe leggings and top.
I saw on Instagram that Maskcat posted a 3.0 version of their larger 57cm body. Is the 26cm body newer too or is their a newer version in the works? Again on Instagram, I saw a post listed 15 weeks ago that the new 26cm body will be double-jointed. Is this the body that Inez, Feline, Heidi, and Gladys have now? Or are there older and newer versions out there? Sorry for all the questions. I have tried to read through the post and their website but I am not clear on it. Also, saw they had posted an update on their website and Instagram that only two resin colors are available, is that for the larger new bodies only or all sizes? Because on Etsy their shop has the tan still available. Thanks
I do not know a lot about these dolls. I like the version 3 for bigger dolls. I know there is a new version 26cm in the works. I asked if they had an idea of when it will be available. They just stated it is in the works. I like this body, but my guess is the new one will have a torso joint. I may or may not wait. It takes 4 months to ship. Hope that helps.
Thanks that is helpful. I ended up ordering Inez in tan from a dealer shop that had her in stock. So after I receive Inez I can make a decision about Gladys. Because I really think I want her in tan and if that is not available right now with new orders I would have to wait anyway.
Great! I look forward to hear what you think. You must have gotten her from Fabric Friends. please post photos when she arrives.
Inez in tan is very pretty. Such a difference in size. Funny to see them together. The dress looks good. A little altering and it will be perfect. Congratulations!
Thanks, I think I was editing my message to exchange it for an updated photo as I finished working on the dress from the earlier photo. I did shorten the bodice, which I think helps. Next time I need to narrow the bodice down a bit as well as make the neck opening a little larger, LOL. I really love this tiny little cutie and makes me want to have Gladys too. So here is the photo I had previously posted, which is relevant to your post...sorry about that. Inez (Maskcat) & Iplehouse BID by Laurie W, on Flickr
She's so cute! It's funny because I was having trouble identifying the specific differences between Inez and Feline, but seeing her in tan makes it more clear to me... hahaha. An adorable girl!
A sweet Gladys arrived home today. She will need a face-up but even without one, she is so darling. So excited to have these two in my collection. They are still finding their own look. I hope to get that worked out and share them again soon. Inez & Gladys by Laurie W, on Flickr
I am so excited to find this perfect wig for Gladys!! I gave Gladys her face-up, just not wanting to send her away over the holidays. Maybe next year I will send her to a professional or even attempt to improve but too planned between now and the end of the year. I stopped counting but I think this is around my 5th attempt at a face-up. Unfortunately, she took a tumble during the photo session and has a rub already...argh! Well at least it was my freebie face-up, LOL Shopping alert -- these boots are on the Kemper website and fit really well. I did shorten the laces. Gladys by Laurie W, on Flickr
Laurie, I looked at your close up photos of Gladys on flickr..you did a great job. I love her tiny freckles and soft lip color! Maskcat is offering a new body maybe at the end of month. I will have to order Gladys then. She is really cute! You need Heidi now! Your photos are enabling.
I ended up glue sueding her neck because her head would not hold in place, as I wanted it to. I am not sure her head is effecting her posing otherwise. I have not really played with her enough to say for sure. I should pose her and Inez to see how well they compare. Maybe next week I will have an update, sort of a busy week and weekend with some family expected to visit this weekend.
I am so glad to finally get Gladys. She is a lot of fun. I love it when a doll can look great in any wig or eyes.
Can I just say that I love the new doll Joy?? She is absolutely gorgeous! I am a tiny bit bummed out that we cant get the old body anymore. I am a huge fan of the one piece torso aesthetic, but I know I am in the minority. At least the new body will be better at posing.
I love Joy too! She's so cute! I do think the old body is quite pretty, but I am hopeful that the new one will pose better... Much as I love my Feline, she is rather limited in that department.
Entering the bjd hobby I wanted to stay within the 1/6 scale because I had one 1/6 soon bjd and wanted to make a scale dollhouse to fit my OC story, however I was frustrated with the babyish proportions in this scale. In the end it was a toss up between MaskcatDoll Inez and myou Gina, I ended up deciding on myou because it had the chest articulation (and more busy sizes) but now I’ve ordered two on the event now so I’ll be able to properly compare! I wish MaskcatDoll did a comparitive scale male doll like myou did.
My Gladys with a new face-up and eyes. Now, for just the perfect outfit to match her personality. Gladys by Laurie W, on Flickr
@LaurieESW , she is lovely! I love how soft she seems The littlest MaskCat's in the house got new outfits last week ^^
@LaurieESW Gladys is lovely. I have been snooping on Dolly Planet for the eyes. @Cydril Pretty girls! Did you make the outfits? Very nice!
They are so cute! Love the setting and their outfits too, so colorful. Yeah, I was glad Michelle sold those eyes to me for Gladys. I think this might be them (link here). It looks like the same color comes in a smaller iris if you prefer it, link here.
Aaaaah, I just purchased Joy! I'm dead excited, she's so beautiful! Can't wait till August when she (hopefully) arrives! I've had a lot of trouble bonding with my msd girls, so I hope I'll have that instant connection with Joy like I had with my 1/6 Obitsus. By the way, does anyone know where to get wigs for such a tiny girl? Which dolls have similar head size?
Monique.com sells size 4 wigs, and the ones with "Monique Gold Collection" are the best for BJDs. I have other dolls with similar head sizes, and that's where I got most of their wigs. Joy's on my wish list, so I look forward to seeing yours!
What shoes fit these girls? I’ve tried Blythe shoes— too small, and YoSD, which are too big. My Gina wants out of her fullset dress and to try on some more casual, quarantine appropriare attire.
I've had some Blythe shoes work! And petite Barbie shoes, as well. It's a little hit-or-miss, because the amount of room in the sizing is dependent on the style, but overall I think they tend to work. Maybe the ones you tried before were just very tight? I've also had less good luck with styles that are fitted at the ankle sometimes, because there's not enough space for the calf/to wiggle the foot in, even if the foot part is roomy enough. (Hard plastic boots that cover the ankle are usually a no-go, for instance.)
Does anyone have the new body and can verify that she still fits Blythe clothing pretty well? The new body looks just a smidge larger in the side by side comparisons.
My Joy came yesterday, and I have a Bythe outfit being delivered Monday. I'll let you know then. The new body is wonderful!
Help me decide between Feline and Inez... The character, in so far as there is one, is a half magical being living in the past. Ideally aged in her 30s, but rather younger could work - anything over 17 or so. Which of the two looks more mature, do you think? Or should I plump for Joy? Oh, decisions, decisions...
I just ordered a Gladys! I'm super new to the hobby and I've been interested in this sculpt since I got into it, basically. I put off buying one when it was announced they were working on a new body for the 26cm line. She'll be my third BJD but she'll be the easiest one to find clothes for so I'm pretty excited. Curious what the lead time is on these dolls currently, if anyone is willing to share.
@bluepita I hope you post photos soon. My Joy has been delayed. Hopefully she will ship out on Monday. I am anxious to see her. @fjm123 Tough decision. I have Inez. I can post a photo of Joy and Inez together when Joy arrives. @trollbus Congratulations! I have Gladys and love her! Thought about ordering Heidi in the future. I ordered Joy December 28th. The virus caused some delay but would say 3-4 months.
I can't wait to see owner photos of Joy. I'm having trouble deciding between Joy, Inez, and Feline. They're all amazing sculpts. Very excited about the new body, too. To those people waiting on Joy, here's hoping that your dolls arrive very soon
Oh, I love this doll. I only have one outfit made for Blythe (from jumejume on Etsy) but I think it fits well. It's a loose fit, so I can't swear for anything tight. The shoes she is wearing are from Parabox, I think for the 27 cm body. They fit pretty well even with the socks on.
Oh wow! She is adorable. Mine keeps getting delayed on shipping. It is nice to see yours. Cute outfit!
Wow, she looks fantastic, Bluepita. She looks so different from her promo photos. I love her with dark hair. Is that the default face-up or did you do it? I ended up ordering Feline yesterday but now I also want Joy
Thank you! This is her default face up. I was a little nervous about ordering tan, since I fell in love with her promo pic. I think she came out wonderful. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of these girls. It's tempting just to have a Maskcat army. Lol. @Oliveoil I hope you get yours soon! The actual shipping was crazy quick. I got a text from DHL on April 11 saying she would arrive on the 20th. Instead she got here on the 16th! I'm in the US. I could not believe it.
I got the tan Gladys specifically to wear Blythe things which I've always coveted. I received her in 2018 so I'm assuming that's the old body. When did they change it? Bonny by Nadine, on Flickr
@bluepita Thank you! Good to know arrival is quick once shipped. When did you order Joy? I am in the US too. @phanuel Wow! She is beautiful. I have Gladys in normal resin. I love the wig and outfit. The new body was introduced with Joy, last December.
@Oliveoil Lol, I think I ordered her the first day she opened. It was December 3rd. I think she took a bit longer than expected to produce because of the virus, but even outside if that, it seemed like a reasonable wait. @phanuel I love your Gladys. She is styled so beautifully! The new body was released at the same time as Joy in December. I should have time to take pictures of it in the next couple of days.
@bluepita Thank you! She is shipped but does not have DHL tracking number. Usually DHL sends tracking as soon as it is entered in system. Hopefully she will arrive soon.
I've already gotten a tracking number for the Gladys I ordered on the 18th! I'm pretty stunned, but I'm not going to complain! Maybe they had some additional stock dolls from the last batch they produced (I'm making assumptions here, I really have no idea). I'm a little nervous because I know lots of people are seeing delays in post from overseas in general right now, so fingers crossed she gets through Customs and into the states smoothly!
Wow! Congratulations! You are probably right...overstock. I did get my DHL tracking number. Expect some delays but all should be fine.
Thanks for asking. April 24th DHL Tracking states they were notified of package. That is the last update. I was told it is due to fewer flights. I have never had this happen before.
