I recently got a 1/3 girl body in the default white color, and it is definitely a cream white--mine is actually a close match for an old mellowed-to-perfection WS Dollzone head. They do offer a paper white for an additional $30, but looking at HTT dolls' example photos I think the default cream-white might be a better match. I wish I had some photos of my new girl, but unfortunately she arrived with a large crack in her neck. She was delivered right after Christmas and her box has some signs of being knocked around, so it's likely she was a victim of holiday postal crush. But I got in contact with Magical Angel right away and they said they will send a replacement, so hooray for excellent customer service! In the meantime I'm working on some clothes for her, loosely based on the Hunter's Attire from the PS4 game Bloodborne. She's so amazingly flexible and athletic, perfect for an agile Hunter of Beasts! I'm so excited to finally own one of these fantastic doll bodies.
Does anyone have any reference images for any of the 1/3rd boys BESIDES Abby? Their website photos are junk and I don't want a vampire/elf. I plan to buy a male 60cm in transparent grey resin, but finding a good head is quite difficult. When I emailed Magical Angel directly they advised me that they didn't have more photos. The poor customer service makes me frustrated, but at the same time I don't know where else to get transparent dolls. Thank you!
I still haven't sorted out my next transparent girl with Magical Angel, but I am back here with a question about the differences between ordering with magical angel and mirodoll (who list the same bodies under XM doll). Has anyone ordered an XM doll, which are essentially the same as the Magical Angel dolls and if so is there any difference quality wise when ordering via Mirodoll? ++EDITED TO ADD++ I've contacted MA about ordering with them. I have ordered with Mirodoll before and they are great to work with but the body I ordered looked a little rushed, so I want to avoid this if possible! If anyone has ordered via MD though I'd still like to hear from you! Resinsoul offer transparent resin if you request it You would just need to drop them an email with your request, depending on if you can find a sculpt you like of theirs.
How often do they come out with new sculpts? I see a lot of old MA dolls that I love, but I'm not such a big fan of most of the current ones
Hi all! I have a grey skin MA Abby sans vampire teeth named Lothliel. (She's based on a gaming character I used to have) I adore her! I have a boy who needs a new body and I was wondering if anyone had a luts NS comparison to the MA white skin... And more doll spam pleeeeeease!
size comparison ssdf vs magical angel kelly This is a picture of a normal skin Lu ts ssdf from 2008 with many full body layers of Mr. Super Clear, box kept, next to the 2014 magical angel SD Kelly body in their normal skin, which is more of a yellowish white.
There is a post further back, that has a transparent female modded into a male. you should take a look! im not that sure. my MA Abby 1/3 was ordered years ago and not too much has changed.d You can ask for their resin match service. Send in a part of the doll you want matched and they do it!
This is really weird.... I've sent MA 2 emails with questions I have before I place my order and have had no response in a week's time. The last time I dealt with them they were very prompt and polite. Does anyone know if something is going on?
I'm glad people like this company. Last year, I wanted to get their 1/3 Kelly and was really nervous since I couldn't find much about them. I did end up getting him and he's been nothing but lovely. My only complaint is that his wrist joint tends to get stuck sometimes and makes his hand hard to turn. Other than that, I love him.
I just got (as in they just arrived) a clear resin Sherry and a WS Theresa (she's a 1/6)... I will try to post pics soon, though Hotaru (my clear resin Sherry) is in need of a face up... Any other clear resins out there WITH face ups? Oh! And the WS is a fantastic match to my luts event head. There is a little difference but not much.
Here is Hotaru! She is strung soooooooo tight... The MA stringing looks different than my other bjds... Pointers on restringing? It might just be the toes thing...
I hope it's alright if i pop in here. I'm looking for a body for my roserin vampire sevy. I was wondering if i could maybe see what MA's yellow, white, and pink skins look like in natural light? The pictures they have on their site are so dark i can't tell anything
I have a Kelly sculpt in white. Here is the profile for him on DoA in both indoor and outdoor light. Aldric If you'd like, I also have a box openin for him which has close ups on his skin and body in general. The lighting is basic indoor lights.
Hello, i am joining the discusdion because i am going to order kelly next week. Can anyone twll me how long they take to be send out?
Right! He actually got stuck for a bit in another state due to a snowstorm so he may have arrived a bit earlier if not for that.
I am sure I have a concept already I just need to find the wig I want for him >D Edit: I just ordered now =3 i am so excited
He's called yuhma and he's the guitarist of the japanese band fixer. My doll will be named yuhma too xD
Oh! Okay, I've seen pictures of that band before, but never listened to them. I love Japanese rock. Actually, I've been thinking about designing a doll modelled after Killaneth's vocalist Kai or Mejibray's Tsuzuku.
OMG do a Kai! he would be soooo awesome, and Kai would be happy too! my friend is douing tsuzuku now ^^ i think she wanted to do him first =3 and then i dunno another musician she loves I already have a Dir en grey Kyo and Kaoru minimee and L and Tomoya from the Balalaika and the former members Folie and YU-chi from L and tomos ex band The 3rd Birthday ^^
Wow! That's so cool! I think I'd want to do is look in Apocrypha since that'd my favorite so far and it just looks so darn awesome. If your friend decides to show hers to the world I'd love to see it.
I will show him to you. I am the one doing the clothes then *lol* But i am not sure if she does Tsuzuku first or i think it was koichi ^^" both will be an Akagi Doll in MSD Apocrypha look is cool! Will you do the clothes yourself too? When you have one you need to tweet or instagram it to Kai! I am sure he'd be super happy!
I want to try to make the clothes myself. I'm used to sewing me humans so scaling it down would be new. I've only been successful once for a little skirt and shirt for my MSD girl. I think the face up would be hardest for me though. I'd be way to embarrassed to actually show him.
i know you can do it! face up is not that difficult since the bandmembers wear a lot of make up. so it's easier than expected don't be. he'll be super happy. I can tell you because Eru und Tomo love their dollies! i clicked through your doll profiles your kelly looks awesome! also your mo (all your others too but i am a big dz oldies fan) also i were able to see owner piccs of Kelly =3
Thanks. I'm really excited to try. With how money is going I'll likely have to get the head and body separate since I don't have the funds to get a whole new doll right now. At the moment, my friend and I are working on a doll of Ruvik from The Evil Within so Kai will be my next project doll. That's so cool that you showed them your dolls! I'm glad you liked him, thanks. You have so many! Hopefully I'll have a big collection someday.
you really should ^^ I am sure he'll turn out great yeah i did take little eru to a concert and the real one was amazed by the little one thaat he was carring him around and showed him to everyone (after the concert inside the venue) that was really cute =3 sure you will! I had luck with most of my dolls + i lived at home and worked parttime
Thanks for the encouragement! It's really nice. Hm...I'll probably do an SD since I like that size a little better and it might be easier to sew for since it's bigger. Maybe I can use a magical angel doll for him. Probably not a Kelly though. I don't think the facial structure is right and I already have one.
yeah i'd do sd too that's why i chose Kelly for Yuhma because I did not want to sew in MSD anymore *lol* it's really fun to make those outfits but still....I get angry easily with the msd size i have kyo and kaoru in sd and 70cm.. i love making new shirts for kyo...but somehow Kaoru does not have much to dress
I haven't been on the Magical Angel site since I gotmy Kelly so I'll have to look at their head sculpts. Their SD body would probably be okay with the right blushing. Guess I'll have to stare at more pictures of Kai to compare. Do you have any tips for sewing for dolls? So far my only theory is scaling down what I do to make clothes for myself.
sorry that i did not answer earlier was bit stressy the last days well i have some patterns for dolls, like pants, shirt and the basics out of these basics i can draw my own patterns if i need some other styles. like for eru's jacket I took the basic t-shirt msd pattern and drew it on a white paper. then I meassured on Eru where his bellybutton is from the shoulder and cutted my pattern there because the real jacket was ending there too. the jacket does not have sleeves so i left them away. i cutted the front in half so i can insert a zipper there i do this with other stuff too and with patterns for humans i normally have them on the pc, then scale them down until my basic pattern fits to the thing on the screen. i take a blank paper, a pen which does not destroy the screen and copy the pattern on my paper with lying the paper on the screen. works fine =3
I think I understand. I had to do something similar to make a little kimono for my MSD girl. I'm still trying to learn how to make patterns that will fit me so I guess that it would be the same with making doll patterns just on a much smaller scale. Getting things like buttons and zippers seems like they would be the biggest pain.
yeah it's the same as making human sized patterns, just smaller. so if you can do your owns you can do the one for your little ones too =3 Zippers in USA are finde to get. i am using normal human sized ones (since in germany we can't get seperated zippers in 10cm length) and then cut them on the top to fit the jacket i am making. for closing i alwas use pressbuttons and sew normal buttons over them to make it look more realistic >D i use buttons from 0,8cm to 1,5cm and they fit well =3
Hello! I've been kind of spying on your conversation. ^^; I typically use zippers and buttons from baby clothes, since they have the smallest zippers, and if you get them from a thrift store, they're super cheap. I hope you're enjoying your dolls! I need to post more pictures.
sounds like a good idea with baby clothe's buttons ^^ they are bit smaller i am still waiting on my boy... >D normally I am not that nervous but somehow this time I am >DDD maybe because he'll be my new J-rocker boy
My Magical Angel Sherry finally has a faceup: Candy just got home from her time with the lovely @Miyukisetsu, and I'm thrilled with the results - transparent resin can't be easy to work on.
@DollSewist Your sherry is lovely! I'm so interested now in a transparent one! @maykoh Also I make my own patterns by cutting paper and laying it on my doll. @Jigarkhvar and @Mitsuko_Elric I use mini buttons I find at craft stores or Walmart for decoration. But baby buttons would be good too!
your girl is really pretty she looks like a ghost or something - but really really awesome I got my Yuhma too a month ago but was too lazy to post piccs of him >D I already finished his clothes and the wig is on commission =3 here he is:
She looks amazing! How did you get the company to do this color for you? I would love to get a few in different colors for a robot series Thank you for sharing her, she's brilliant!! Whoa! That is a really close resemblance. I can't wait to see once your wig is finished ^-^
Thanks, @rara - I can't take credit for the resin, though, as I bought her third-hand. But I've seen tranparent resin offered on the Magical Angel site, and heard that they are really easy to work with if you want a color added.
your guy is super awsome! you made these clothes for him yourself? i actually got them from island doll, and just sold them. hope that helps!
oh cool, I thought they were from magical angel I was confused hahah, I bought jointed hands from doll family this winter, they will arrive soon and I cant wait!
thats wonderful! i bet your excited. well, they can be fun indeed. hey guys, i know on alices collections is where magical anges's original dolls are, they branched off from xen-ming toys. there are a few on there too
