Magical Angel 1/3 discussion

Cirquemom- I have a 1/4 girl and she has hooks on her hands and feet. I can't speak to the larger size, but I'd guess that they're probably the same or at least similar. I KNOW for sure that the SD sizes have feet hooks because it's mentioned in the foot tutorial on the website, leading me to believe that the hands are the same.

 

Yes, they have hooks in the hands and feet.
Also, the M means medium bust and L is large bust. The medium bust is thinner and slightly taller than the large bust body. I believe it's an unnoticeable difference as far as height is concerned.

~The Question Of M Vs L is yes, it means, medium bust Vs large bust
~The hands are attached with S hooks (removable and replaceable)
~I do no t know about the Medium bust height, Mitsuko_Elric about that, but my Large bust is correct.

Which eye size fits Mitsuko? Is it 18mm?

 

I use 18mm, but she can do 20mm too. The 20mm look a little big on her and sometimes the 18mm get the tiniest little gap on the side of one of her eyes, but you can't tell unless you're right up on it. It might be a sculpting thing. It's always the same eye on the same side, that's why I think that.
Overall, I'd go with 18mm eyes!

 

I Personally In my Abby sculpt head, use 18 and 20 mm. usually a 20mm eye works best sizewise for me with iris size and fit of the eye itself...

 

Help! What size wig does the Kelly use? I bought this doll for my friend few years ago and I can't find a size listed anywhere! Thank u!!!

Anyone have any doll news? I've had Mitsuko for over a year now!

 

I recently bought a Magical Angel body to use as a hybrid with Supia head and I like the combination quite a bit. These girls really are fun to pose. I like that she can sit hugging her knees and easily touch her face. I don't have any pictures right now, but there's my bit of news.

 

Sorry, I just now saw this. I use an 8-9 wig for my MA Kelly head and it fits pretty well.

Medium bust! Now that she has some clothes, I'll have to see if I can snap some pictures.

 

I just had to restring my MA boy body that I just got? Holy heck that was a tough one! I didn't mean to but when I was swapping out the hands, didn't like the stock ones much, I let go just at just the wrong time and the arm cord got caught inside the upper body in an arm hole. Then the legs string let go and he just went completely unstrung. It's a lovely body but boy was it a b- to restring! He's got the smallest arm holes and there's not a lot of room in his chest. The way I usually string it was a really tight scenario. He looks great now though. The hands I used they're a good match and they look much nicer than the ones he came with. Stock hands, they're a little weird if you ask me but then again I'm very fussy about that usually...

Faith In Beauty- Oh I'm not really having trouble with her eye/wig combo. They actually work perfectly for her character. I just went through a funk with some of my dolls. It happens sometimes lol. As it sits right now she's one of my favorites. I'm so glad I didn't get rid of her.

So, I don't know if anyone has ever measured their 1/3 boys from this company...but I thought my MA Eric looked too tall next to my latest doll - a 61cm Doll Love boy. Eric is supposed to be 62cm, from the site it says, but I measured him and he came out to 65cm! I'm not complaining at all, but I just thought it was funny and figured I'd share.

 

I have 2 Magical Angel Kelly bodies and they are some of the best posers I've ever had!! I'm looking into buying the small chest 1/3 girl body to mod into a boy body, but I'm having trouble trying to figure out a good resin match for Dollshe Fresh. Does anyone know if fresh is closer to WS or NS?

Thought I'd drop by here to mention I ordered a magical angel doll a few days ago! ^.^ She's a sherry but she's for a fairly unique project of mine so I ordered her in a custom resin of transparent blue :P

Not sure what to expect, I was of the opinion that their sculpts were fairly bland overall but, seeing what you guys make of yours is very impressive and they clearly have a lot of potential, can't wait to see how she turns out

On the note of well done dolls: TokyoLynn: the choice of eyes, wig, clothes etc. definitely suite her well. The above pic is also very well done, the lighting works wonders on those eyes!

 

I'm really interested in MA's Jane sculpt. I think she would fit my character Suzuho very well. But no one has her sadly... :/ Maybe when I get the funds I'll be the first? ^v^

These dolls have got me intrigued! I am looking for a transparent doll and have been for years and it looks like I may have found a very affordable option with magical angel. Just a quick question though (I have sent an email directly, but still no reply), is it possible to order a full doll in clear transparent resin, including the head?? I can see the option to pick transparent on their site, but you also have to add a colour, so I can't get round that to actually order a clear doll! Does anyone know? I've seen the sample clear parts on facebook and a couple of clear bodies on here but none have a transparent head to match! I'd be very grateful if anyone could shed any light on this for me

**Edited to add, I received a reply from MA and it is absolutely possible to order a full doll including head in transparent resin I still can't work out how to put that order through on their site though, considering you have to input a colour to get the total price to show up! Oh well, I'll email them again **

She came with with fangs, and an awsome faceup, just not fitting my OC. But she did not come with nor keep the jointed hands though. i removed them shortly after i put them on.

I recently discovered a clear doll by another company which is limited to only 10 so I've put her on layaway, but I won't mention her here so we can stay on topic I decided to just do a general search for transparent dolls to see what else I could find and I came across MA on here so that's what pulled me in. The jane head appeals to be most as I like her square jawline, its just a shame there aren't more pictures of her. I'll probably order her in a custom coloured transparent resin which MA have confirmed will be possible so I'm stoked about that! It'll have to wait for a while though as I've got too many irons in the fire at present!

Just bringing this thread back up as I'm curious about the resin match service MA provide. How does it work? Do you send them a part that you'd like to have matched or do they work from a photograph? I'd think that sending them a piece to match would obviously work best as resin doesn't always look the same in person at it does in pictures. I'm thinking of purchasing a head on the MP, but apparently the resin tone is hard to match and the company closed some years ago now so there's no way to just simply get hold of a new body.

 

Umm I also have a question. Serena arrived and there's a few issues. Firstly her stringing was so tight that it's caused some pretty major damage to one of her legs to break at the bottom. I'm going to need to send her (preferably just the broken parts of her if that's possible) back to be replaced.

I'd like to keep the in tact parts of her if possible so I can begin modding and seeing what works (on a positive note her sculpt, face and the quality of the blue resin is absolutely fantastic! Pics next.

Also, having an issue getting her unstrung to inspect and separate her various components. The ring they use to hold the stringing above the neck is totally closed. And virtually impossible to maneuver due to her tight stringing. How do people work with these rings with your dolls? I'll attach images to show what I mean in the following post (warning: nudity and large pics).

 

I won't bother with the picture of the breakage, that's between myself and MA. This is more to show you guys how she looks ^.^

Firstly: here's her face sculpt. She came with blue eyes but I've ordered glow in the dark yellow ones as per her character to give her a truly otherworldly look

just email them and let them know the situation. ask if you can return the doll or just the broken parts. see what they say. if its the stringing, and you return and exchange parts, youll have to buy cord. so the body is an other option. i love how beautiful she looks. sho looks so fluid! so you went with the sugestion i made on MA? Im so excited! how did you get blue? if i may ask

Yeah I did go with MA ^.^ they were just what I needed. Very easy to deal with, price was amazing and they're very accommodating. To answer your question all I had to do was ask. They asked for an example of the exact color to confirm it was in their capacity to do and presto: blue transparent BJD

Also turns out if you contact them about breakages within a week of arrival they'll just make a new copy of the broken part and send it to you. No hassle, just a real pleasure to deal with. Also I'm just gonna get my own elastic cord and re do the stringing myself to simplify things, once I get the loop loosened up, I'll give that a go tomorrow. Should all work out just fine ^.^

And thanks guys for all your comments, you're right in that she almost looks good as she is now, honestly I'm not changing much. A bit of gloss and some watery (kinda dripping) detail and something for a wig and she'll be done! XD

[MENTION=67025]Volucris20[/MENTION] I hope you have managed to get your new limbs sorted out! I have a question about ordering. I have been quoted $277 for a custom colour 1/3 transparent doll. For the life of me I can't work out how to order that through their site as the value no matter what I do, isn't coming to the same total as the quote. Did you just send your order to them via email or did you submit it through the checkout on their site?

*Oops! I think I've now got this sussed. The custom colour option which comes to an additional $50 doesn't add to the total it would appear. I'm assuming then that you just checkout, add your description to the comments box and wait for your invoice. I think I'd still prefer to order via email though so I can get the exact colour I'm after!

 

Sorry I'm so late replying, I've not been online in a while. Honestly I didn't go through the site. Once I got my quote I sent the money to an account via PayPal, which they were happy with. The limb is said to be sorted but I'm still waiting for news on its progress. Anyone know how long such things take?

I couldn't be happier with the new MA high heel feet! I had so much trouble finding shoes for the default feet. When I ordered Sherry in pink skin, I decided to give the high heel feet a try. They are different from all my other SDs high heel feet. In a good way though. They are flat enough to stand in and wear all the SD flats I have. And the arch is high enough for her to wear all the SD heels I have. The toe nails have a more feminine sculpt too

 

It's decided- I'm getting a 1/3 girl body for my HTT Dolls Bambee head to be my lovely Suzuho! Is the white skin like PURE white or is it a little bit of a creamy color?
