Luts Royal Senior Delf Discussion Thread

Omg that is good news! I will have to check out the twitter more often than I do. It is good they're getting into this new size! I'm hoping the RSDF dolls get a bit of popularity, maybe enough to do a future release with their special resin tones. /fingers crossed Though... I don't know if I'd ever get another one LOL but that might tempt me!!

You should definetly refer to them as your Martians! xD I think they're going to look so neat together so I don't blame you for not resisting. I love that Mars has like a mixture of mature and an almost mischievous expression.

 

Yes, it was so heartening to see more clothing! I sort of accepted the worst case scenario (nobody buys the Royal size, no call to make clothes, my Mars becomes a one-suit wonder), so this is just a really pleasant surprise. (There's also shots of what looks like a Royal Saturn? Let me know who you think that is!)

Not to get off-topic, but I've become kind of enthralled with the Mars face, with my SSDF Mars hanging out on my desk. It's a really interesting combo of classic Luts and really different structure and proportions. I can't wait to get the supersized version

If you mean this guy from the twitter, I think he's an Eddy?? When a RSDF Eddy came up a page back I think Eddy is such a cutie but I couldn't picture it but actually seeing it has changed my mind! With that styling it works for me. Though hm, the proportions I think are subjective. For me they're good but I've been leaning into the big yaoi manga man style lmfao.

Now I'm thinking about seeing a Saturn though. xD

omg His face is so perfect. Tide looks just like I imagined, I absolutely love that nose. It's nice to see these heads scaled bigger because it is kind of hard to really get a feel for how they'll look without an actual photo!

 

He's amazing, isn't he? I agree, it really makes a difference to see the sculpts at Royal size.

 

My god, I simply can't get over the size of these dudes. He's tall enough to open doors by himself!!!!

Also Tide's outfit is way more appealing to me than the suits I dunno man. I would LOVE to see one of these guys in person but I don't think I could handle having one live in my house

@taykung gotta agree about the wigs, although Tide looks great in anything! Maybe we'll see some more soon.

Hello big guy lovers! Just out of interest - did your question concerning weight ever get answered? Is a little weight lifting recommended to prepare for the arrival of one of the Royals?

 

I get the impression the Luts styling team is having a blast with the Royal size.

Agreed about the wig! I think it suits Eddy.

I haven't heard anything yet about the weight...! Has anyone learned anything new?

 

Luts listed new wigs on their website! Saturn and Eddy are the models here. They look great!
And I want to change my words about Eddy's head. His head doesn't look a bit too small (as I put it). The propotion is really nice~

 

Nice wigs! I love the silver one. And I'm so happy to get a closer look at Saturn as well as Eddy. I feel like Saturn's got this... grumpiness... about him I adore. He reminds me a little of Thanatos from the Hades Game...

 

They added more photos of the boys as well! Annnnd more of them doing human things (like pushing the lift button)~

Lovely glasses! Royal Eddy looks stylish wearing these. I adore him so much~ I wonder if glasses this size look good on a cat. They seem big enough!

I feel like the staff are having fun with these big guys! We see new stuff almost daily!

I would suspect that they are not yet available? It raises the interesting question though, how many Royal Delfs will be voyaging out into the world...?

I noticed a lot of the new added clothing/wigs for even more than just the RSDF line are marked as 'sold out' and it doesn’t seem like enough time in between them going up to sell out immediately? I’m thinking they just wanted to get the photos uploaded/page ready before they actually start selling? Obviously 100% pure speculation on my part so to know for sure someone would have to ask the company directly. xD

UGH I knew seeing Abadon would ruin me! He looks amazing. My fav for sure BUT still pleased with my Tide decision! whew LOL

I don't think anyone has ever gotten an answer on how much a RSDF actually weighs? Judging by the way the person in the photo is holding one, I think they must be pretty weighty! They're already looking like really good posers though.

 

They did some kind of interesting chair hack to make it the right size for the Boss, did you notice? (I've been covetously studying actual kid furniture--there are some ridiculously stylish kid chairs out there. Mies for Mars, please...)

I'm happy to see Abadon posing with legs crossed. I feel like I recently saw someone having trouble with Luts leg/hip joints, did I hallucinate that?

Still feeling like this monstrous doll size was weirdly made precisely for me, LOL... every day will be arm day.

 

Huh! From checking out the LUTS site today I noticed under new dolls, it looks like they will be adding the RSDF to their normal lineup? It looks like they're just going to be a regular release you can get anytime! I assumed they would be an event only type deal for some reason so that's pretty neat.

 

That IS neat. The photos for each Royal are really nice, too.

It sounds as if Luts feels like it's got a winner in this size. I wonder which ones will prove most popular. Abadon and Tide, maybe? I'm going to suggest Eddy will be an unexpected hit at this size--he has so much charisma...

 

Yes! I also liked the individual photos and the different resin colours... though now I'm like oh to have an Abadon in real skin brown. LOL

LUTS does seem to believe in the RSDF, they are certainly different. I know Dollmore has the Trinity size which I've really enjoyed looking at pictures/owner pictures of over the years but they just have a different flavour? I'm not sure WHY I feel this way but, it could be because LUTS has only released boys so far and they seem like less of a 'set' than the Trinities? I have no idea but all that rambling got me thinking that I would love to see some huge girls added to the RSDF line down the road.

@green_judy I think you could be right about Eddy might be a dark horse in the race! He has a lot of potential for the sweet boy look but yet not. I'm thinking Abadon or Mars will be the most popular just based on handsome factor. xD

 

I think they push most of their new lines. As they should from a marketing perspective.

The same happened when they released the broadshouldered SDF girls. I haven't encountered anyone who actually likes that body but since release they always got some attention from Luts during their events.

But I definitely feel like the RSDF get more attention than other (safer) lines at release. Luts needs to establish them as they are pretty much new ground for doll collectors.

They are definitely royal for sure, but I could never, too big for me My size limit is the Grand Senior Delf. But I'm looking forward to when pictures are starting to get posted here

 

Logically I know I still have a wait but, I’m getting so antsy to see if these guys are going to be sent out before the holidays! I keep obsessively checking the status of my order. xD

Has anybody heard any rumors about delivery time for the Royal Delfs?

 

I ordered RSD Saturn (full doll + make-up+hands blush+blue outfit + shoes+wig) at 22 of July. About month ago I received an email about progress. Luts told my doll can be shipped around 15th december. Today is 16 and doll still "in progress"

 

That's good to know! I ordered the 24 of July and haven't received any update email but LUTS is pretty hit and miss with emails for me I've noticed, LOL. I might ask them about the status of my order on the Q&A board just because the curiosity really is killing this cat. xD

 

New Royal Abadon just dropped. Goodness gracious

 

I'm not comfortable with that size, but I'm just thinking, "thank goodness this isn't a SDF or SSDF size!

Is it just me or have open mouth sculpts like this become more popular and more common? I see them everywhere XD Would be cool though if Luts made more sculpts with open type of mouth like this for their smaller sized dolls also.

 

Oh my god, I love him! But... there's no way I could justify another one of these guys LOL I will just have to swoon from afar. I am really interested to see full pictures though because it actually would be kind of cool if LUTS made those long nail hands to purchase separately sometime. Also, I wonder if there will be more of that kind of fantasy type like beast/vampire for different sizes. like a GSDF size

Open mouth sculpts do seem to be becoming really popular! Or maybe just more companies that usually don't do them are starting to die their toes into it. xD That's another thing I agree with would be cool to see in other sizes!

I forgot to update about how I made out asking LUTS about my order and they said there was a delay but my doll's makeup is done and they should be shipping him next Wednesday or Thursday so I'm very excited but a little nervous to see how big this freaking box is going to be. xD

My Tide arrived today and he is... huge LOL. I adore him but, wow, it was a lot to take in. I can't wait to really get to pose him and compare him to my other dolls!

Yes! LUTS did such a great job on them, the nails are so realistic and they did some subtle veining that is really neat.

@sovayne Congrats!! He looks amazing! It seems he won't share that chair with anyone. He takes the chair all to himself. It'd be lovely to see him with your other dolls.

May I ask if he is able to stand on his own? From what I gathered most dolls above a certain size can't do so. But Luts is pretty good when ut comes to engineering their bodies.
