Luts New Delf (2012) Discussion

Arwen is so beautiful! Does Luts ever sell just the heads separately? I see on their website that that the only heads are showing as sold out.

 

Love love love your girl, Portia! The pastel colors of her clothing, her stuffed toy and her nails looks so pretty next to her tan skin! *sigh* Luts, I love you !

 

Those are some of the old Delf heads, which LUTS can't sell anymore. If you want a Delf head by itself your only options are the marketplace here, or organizing a split.

There really is! I'm hoping to get light tan Arwen and tan Aragorn when I have the funds for them! I love seeing them!

I haven't seen any owners pictures of the William sculpt and I'd love to see one! Does anyone have one they can spam?

 

Aaah, Portia is so beautiful! And that adorable bear matches her color scheme :3 Its blue is the same color as her eyes!

That's good to know about the Delf girls, too. You mentioned that the Delf girl body (mature type 3, I think?) poses better than expected, right?

LUTS definitely made some improvements when they made the T3, which they didn't really mention on their site and I was really pleased about because I wanted Portia to be this size, but she used to be an old Delf Miyu that I finally sold out of frustration with how static the body was. I ordered her and then spent the wait second-guessing myself. XD; The arm joints have been slightly reshaped so that she can bend her arms > 90 degrees (the old body doesn't even hit 90), and there's a step in the back of her knees to lock them straight so that she doesn't have kicky syndrome or collapse when she stands.

IMO, she's not a super poser (like an F60 or the SDF T1 girl body), but she is stable and she has enough arm mobility that I don't get aggravated with her when I'm photographing her (and that's saying a lot, because I'm super picky about mobility). I think they've taken the body to the limit of what you can get out of it without putting in double joints, and sometimes that's a better deal - LUTS is all over the place in terms of engineering and sometimes what looks super amazing in promo pics actually isn't. (I'm lookin' at you, JDFs. :/)

Anyway, if SOMEONE ever COMES TO A MEET AGAIN she can see both in person! ;D

 

XD We want to come to a meet so bad! Caitirin and I keep talking about it. We'll definitely plan to attend one soon. I would love to see Portia, and all of the other lovely dolls that come! It's good to know that the T3 bodies are solid like that (and that someone with discerning taste in pose-ability likes them!). Thank you for the details! I was very much on the fence about whether to get Arwen on the T3 body or do the My Choice and get her on the Senior Delf body. I think the T3 will be a good mix for me of affordability and mobility. Now to just wait the time it'll take to finish saving!

 

Hi all! I've been lurking here for a while, looking at everyone's beautiful dollies. Finally, I can share my own Delf with you!

This is Blair, a Delf Succubus Clary. I just got her from the post office today.



No faceup yet unfortunately. xD I'll work on that when I get home from work.

I'm starting to think a Luts girl might be what I want next. I just got an Aragorn head and I love it. I was worried as I'm not usually a fan of the style but these ones seem a little different. And so pretty!

 

Ohh... I like her cute quirky mouth.

 

Dang.. now I am bummed I had to miss out on her. I hope they bring her back again eventually.

Does anyone know if the Senior Delf wigs fit on Delf heads? I was looking at the Luts site and in the wig section, they have 9-10 inch and 8-9 inch categories and both categories say they're for SSDF, SDF, and DF. In the 8-9 inch category, some of the wigs are labeled with SDW and some are just DW; I'm guessing these wigs fit Senior Delfs and Delfs respectively? Or does it just depend on the sculpt? One of the wigs I like best is an SDW and I was hoping it wouldn't be way too big for an Arwen. Thanks to anyone who has any experience in this area

elaby The wigs really aren't that specific, because the sizes aren't that uniform. Some SDF heads are bigger than others, some Delf heads are bigger than others, &etc. For what it's worth I've had 8/9 and 9/10 wigs on Portia and they all fit fine - unless you're super picky, the worst that'll happen is that you need a wig cap for a loose one and you can get those on LUTS' site when you order.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I managed to do Blair's faceup over the weekend. Not completely happy with her yet since I couldn't get the colors right (I was trying to copy the faceup of her minifee counterpart), but I'm happy enough that it can stay for a while.

Hello everyone! I love all the dolls I've been seeing so far in this thread, but I'm finally able to introduce mine
I got my Delf Claus months ago, but was in the process of getting him a face-up, wig, and it took awhile. He finally looks
just right! (excuse the crap image quality, i lack a decent camera)

Hurrah! My Clary (full set) & Jace (face-up only) arrived on Friday.

(For the curious, they were ordered on the 5th of November, and I got the shipping notice on the 29th of January...)

Both came with the glass eyes - pale pink for Clary, pale purple for Jace - they were wearing in their Luts photos, and...

Here they are!

Both are now wearing Soom eyes that I just had lying around, and Jace just kinda... fell... into both the all black look and the name Nocturne. For Clary, I'm leaning towards Octavia... but this could easily change!



Jace... Maybe it's just me, but he doesn't really look anything like his promo pics. (I still love him, though...)

 

Just putting this here as it's next to impossible to find blank owner pictures of this guy. He's a Delf William in RSB. Hope this is helpful to anybody considering purchasing him. He's really cute in person and has an adorable kitty shaped mouth!

 

@_@ WHOA! That'as a Delf William?!! Man oh man I would have never guessed. He's absolutely adorable! I can see his potential so much better as a blank sculpt. ^^ Congrats on your cutie, and he's amazing in RSB. I hope you share him again~ He's going to change a lot of minds about Delf William.

 

So many lovely dolls! I have a request, would any of you kind people know how well sd girl clothes fit boy delfs? Pics would be a plus.

 

This just makes me more certain that I want this sculpt! He is so lovely!

 

I don't have any pics of my new Delfs (as per this thread... Although, the photo of my Jace in a post above is of him wearing an old Delf girl corset set...) I can confirm with complete confidence that boy Delfs easily fit into most SD girl clothes. I have a scary amount of Delf boys and nearly all of them wear girl clothes. Dollheart, Volks, Dollmore, Iplehouse, Luts, Soom - just about you name it and they've worn it...

(Search the gallery for 'cross dressing' and I'm sure you'll see lots of Delfs modelling girl clothing.)

On another note, I've seen lots of Delf boys in girls clothes, so I'm sure they fit all sorts of SD brand clothes, there's one in particular that comes to mind that I've seen who wears lots of Volks and Dollheart outfits! So cute! Love girly boys >w<

I'm joining also, my hubby and I both got a Clary yesterday Mine is the one in pink, her name is Hayley. Hubs went for the fullset and is still looking for a name. With them arrived my two Senior Delf boys, one of which is on the Delf body, but I'm pretty sure he's still OT here.

Wow! The Clary's look amazing! I ordered mine through Fabric Friends and Dolls through layaway, and I should be receiving her in a couple of weeks. This is making me really excited!

 

Man... I REALLY hope we see a re-release of Clary someday!

 

They really are, I'm obsessed with mine. It's always a gamble to buy a doll based on company photos alone, but I wasn't disappointed

 

Haha, same here, I'm so in love^^ I was a little afraid at first that she might look a little bored or angry in real because in some of the company pictures she kind of did, but she has such a gentle and sweet expression!

I broke down and ordered my Isabella during Think Pink's 20% off sale. I'm bummed that no one has photos of her, but I'll be getting her blank and will take lots of pictures of the sculpt before I ship her off to be painted Even with shipping from the Netherlands to the US I still ended up saving like $60+ on her. I would have gotten the Luts face up too but it was a bit too hard to swing on a one day notice. I can't wait for her to come home

To try to breathe some life back into this thread, I took some pictures of my lovely Astrid/Arwen today. The poor girl doesn't get a lot of camera time but I adore her to pieces anyway

 

@karringkat Your Arwen is so lovely! The color options that Luts offers are always so gorgeous.

@Janamuffin I got Isabella in normal skin - she's supposed to be a rather pasty little noble girl and the Luts NS is so pale I think it'll be perfect.

Thanks! I chose the Real Skin Brown. This will be my first doll in tan resin, so I'm very excited. I love that Luts has so many options!

 

Welp, I am -still- waiting on my Clary. I ordered her the beginning of November through FFD..and apparently she's having issues with Luts. She's emailing them and they're not replying, etc. Hopefully I'll have her soon. I'm so impatient!

As for Clary's full-set wig, as much as I absolutely love it, I just can't seem to get it to work on... any... doll! So, she's had a bit of a change...

I fiiiinally got my Clary yesterday, and....I don't like her all that much. I'm not a huge fan of the Delf body. Her face is gorgeous and so is her outfit, but I can't get over the body. It's just not what I was hoping for.
