Luts New Delf (2012) Discussion

I can't wait to see what they look like! I hope the price is reasonable for them too.

I'm really curious how this new line will distinguish it's self from the other lines. How will it differ and stand out while it sits in between their smaller SDs (Junior Delf) and their larger SDs (Senior Delf)?

 

Im just waiting to get my hands on a shiny new tan toy *fingers crossed for the tan bit*
uber curios to see what they look like. Im hoping i dont fall for one though because that will mean i have 4 SD's in the house XD (so much for being an 'I only want MSD's' person lol)

I can`t wait to see the new Delf line. I hope they are somewhat similar to the old (Delf) CP Sculpts. Loving the big heads and eyes

I miss the old delfline so much! I do hope that this new line got the same feeling and look in one way or another.. So exciting!

I have to admit, I'm a HUGE Cerberus Project fan. but I can't help but be curious as to what Luts will come out as the newDelf as well.

I wish they would just re-release CP Soony! Luts discontinued the Delf line when I was taking a break from the hobby so I never had a chance to get her. :'(

 

Luts can't re-release the Soony as they don't have rights to any CP sculpts anymore. I'm waiting for FL to re-release her (and make her a MNF too). I am excited to see where Luts is going to take the Delf line though.

 

Yeah I think alot of folks are hoping for the old Delf faces to appear when Luts releases them in December, but we all know that is not going to happen. Fairyland has them now. I can't wait to see what kind of new faces they come up with and what the body type will look like as well.

 

Subscribing to this thread waiting to see some new faces! I might be the only one hoping to see some new Luts sculpts. The CP sculpts don't really do it for me (Though I do love the feeple bodies)

Well, there are face pics in the news thread from the accidental release, but they are small be warned they'd how basically nothing lol. They do look cute, but I suppose we need to get a look at the body and all that before any opinions are really registered.

 

I think these new Delf look so cute. Is it just me, or does the girl look a tiny bit like a Miyu? They both have a typical Luts look to them, but I think they're a bit more stylized than the other lines. Very excited to see how they look!

Looking at Claus, I think he has a touch of El about him, to the jawline. Squee! If Luts creates a slightly more realistic version of El I will forgive them entirely for all their past orneriness. Go Luts go!
I also can't wait to see the bodies. I'm hoping for them to be closer to SDFs than JDFs in engineering, but closer to JDFs in aesthetics. I have both bodies and SDF bodies are definitely easier to pose and manoeuvre, but JDF bodies in my opinion look much nicer.

 

I'm hoping I don't like these guys (and girls~) because I really have no more space for new dolls!! D8!! (But alas, I am liking what I'm seeing so far. TuT)

I wonder if the bodies will be different? I was disappointed with the Feeple60 girls... maybe they'll release a Delf looking Delf with double jointed elbows...

 

I'm not 100% sure of course, but I'd guess they are either going for 65cm, or Zaoll size (52cm or something). Leaning more towards the smaller because in their pictures, their heads seem slightly smaller...might be me though~

I'm assuming that the delfs have to be shorter than the senior delfs, but a little taller than JDF. The "old delfs" were about 60cm, so thinking that they'll keep it that way. But who knows! 52 sounds kind of neat and I won't have to worry too much bout clothes considering that Luts always has stuff out for their dolls. Thinking about it I would like them in a smaller size too.

Gah anyone else starting to get overwhelmed with all the winter events! Have to admit Luts is starting to win me over with the anticipation and teasers!!!

 

I kind of have a question, and I hope it's ok to ask here.

I'm very, very interested in the JDF~SSDF winter event head, and I'm thinking I'd like it on a JDF body, but I'm a bit worried about how it will look. I imagine if the head is big enough to fit on a SSDF, it might look a little too big for the JDF body. Does anyone have both JDF and SSDF and can tell me if the heads are close to the same size or way different? What do you guys think about a head that can supposedly fit on such a huge range of sizes?

Even normal heads from Luts range a bit in size. They normally take an 8-9 wig but the difference shows in the face size and not the head size. I have an Abadon whose face is smaller than the face on event heads. I've had several event heads in my possession at one point and some sculpts work better for different sized bodies. It also depends on the faceup. The younger faces look better on the shorter bodies.

I don't mind that the head is one size fits all. I think it just has to do with what you are comfortable with. Some ppl like more realistic proportions but others like the anime type proportions of a big head on a slim body. In general tho I prefer to keep the event heads on either the SDF or SSDF body because most of them have had fairly childish/big faces. Then again I've never had a JDF body to try out.

 

I put my '11 event head on a JDF body, although I decided to turn it into a woman and gave the JDF body to my '09 head. I think both of them look good on the body and not out of proportion, so I'm guessing the rest of the event heads can look just as good on that body.
That said, it also depends on the wig. Fur wigs for example tend to make heads look bigger, whereas fiber wigs tend to make heads look smaller.

 

i am wondering as well about how the new line of delf will defer from the old one...i wonder if it's just new body types and skin?? i saw some pictures on the news section someone managed to grab before lutz retired them again from the website and i just couldn't see any difference, i am intrigued!!!


on another note i really wish i had enough money to get Noelia (senior delf) she is on my list and it would have been great if i could have benefited from their lay away and free head option, i really like the boy free head ....but soom is sucking my pocket dry with the two boys i ordered from their special FC event...

 

the skin tones/resin will follow the real skin normal/white/brown options that all the other Luts dolls have. The bodies will also be different from the "old delfs" as those belong to CP/Fairyland. Luts does not have the rights to sell them anymore.

 

Regarding the interchangeable heads, to me, it's more about the look of the head? I find the more mature-looking heads to fit well on the larger bodies, and I find the cuter-styled heads to be more in place on the shorter bodies (which irks me a little when I see some of the cutesy-boy heads on...SSDF bodies. OTL) This is, of course, assuming that the heads are all of a similar size.

 

Can't wait to see the bodies for these new dolls, so far I like Claus, but the girl is not too bad looking either. I hope the do a body comparison line up as well, just to satisfy my curiosity of the size between SSDF, SDF, and new Delf.

 

Do you think they'll use Delf body type 3 for all the new dolls coming out? i still actually can't seem to figure out if body type 2's neckpiece and body type 3's neckpiece are the same... so the doll heads for type 2 body can still work for body type 3? (so sorry, i should check the forum more for these information x.x; luts site don't explain it well in pictures...)

 

No, because CP has the copyright on that, so they definitely won't be having any truck with the type 2/3 neckpiece. My guess it'll be the usual S-hook situation that the other Luts lines have. The bodies will all be different too, and the whole line of dolls won't be anything like the previous Delfs (sadly). From what we've seen they still look pretty cute though!

Though to answer your question in relation to the CP Delfs, yes the neckpiece is the same for type 2/3 so the heads are interchangeable ^^

 

Ah okay! At this rate i'll have so many different versions of luts delf bodies orz...

I have a question and i have searched but i don't know why i cant find the answer. So I have a summer 2012 event head NS and i want a femal body that is the size of a ss delf. Luts don't a female in this size and so i was wondering if anyone knows a normal skin risen match for luts ???

 

female, male resin should match the same. Same goes with all sizes. (I could be wrong so someone can correct me)

 

i mean if anyone knows what company manufacture the same resin color as luts normal skin ?

 

Infinitidoll has similar resin to Luts, as do a few other companies, but Infinitidoll girls are 63cm tall. You're going to have a hard time finding a female body that is truly 70cm tall. Iplehouse EID girls are 65cm and Soom Idealian72 girls are 68cm, but neither of those match Luts resin. It might be helpful to search in the Gallery and see if you can find pictures of various girl bodies with SSDF boys. Then you might be able to see a body that would look proportional with an SSDF body, even if it isn't actually 70cm tall. I had an Infinitidoll girl who looked nice with my SSDF boy, and the resin matched well. SDF girls look proportional to SSDF boys, even though they are not as tall.

 

toomy Oops, I didn't see that you were looking for SSDF size body, sorry!!! Your best chance is get whatever body you can find at that size and blush. >_<;
Luts does have a female body separately for purchase, but if you're looking for something cheaper, I've heard Angel of Dream match Luts quite well. Crobidoll is kiiinda close, but they don't sell female bodies =w=;; Dikadoll Normal Pink matches...Resinsoul Normal Skin matches too if I remember well.
I didn't find these on my own, it's what I found from research I once did for my Luts event heads ^ ^ So I'm not 100% sure about any of them. But good luck finding a body for your head~!

Snowgray Are you sure about Infiniti? I found they don't match too well ._.;;;

 

Not the best lighting, but SSDF and Infiniti SID girl hands together. I don't own the Infiniti girl anymore, but her resin was a good match for Luts SDF/SSDF resin; she was slightly pinker than my SSDF boy because he was two years older than her.

The first two are Luts, the other two are Infitini. And I can tell you, my Luts event head from 2009 is the exact same resin color as my KDF 2012, so if you haven't taken your boy out in the sun much, he probably hasn't yellowed any.
Might be because of the face-ups though...

 

I had an Infinitidoll girl on an SDF body for a while and the match was flawless. She was a bit more yellow toned than my ID Louis or the girl body we still have, so in my experience the resin color just fluctuates a bit.

okay i have decided to buy a luts senior delf female body but i am not sure what is the differences in height between type1 and type2? I'm waiting for the company to replay but if any one knows please tell

 

Toomy, you should go into the Senior Delf thread to to talk about a senior delf body. THere is a huge difference between the two. The type 1 is double jointed, and the type 2 is single jointed!

If you look here, you can see they are the same height. However, the differences have been discussed in the above thread at length if you go back quite a few pages.


To be on topic, I'm also very excited to see the new delfs! I hope they come out with more than two soon!
