i'm so late on this but i'm just head over heels for belimbing finally found my next doll! now to start saving up... i'm thinking maybe bronco for this doll!

roughly when does the winter event usually run? usually through at least part of january, right? i'm gonna try to plan things so that i can nab a goodie when i place the order c:

sharing my new Enoki in bronco. I loved her promo photos but i was surprised how much more cute and adorable she would be in person. she reminds me of chicabi sculpts

also luts has started teasing the winter event. im not ready for new dolls right now but im always excited to see new sculpt!!

Here's the kid delf event head. It's from the Korean version of the site so I'm not sure what they're called if they have a name. There's also new kid called Catnip, I find them super cute but will probably pass this event again.

the event head looks just like the summer one with slightly different expression and smaller eyes. i don't feel like i need it

 

Catnips cute but I don't feel the pull there. Riz I will order but as the event head does nothing for me, I can hold off from the event unless they release a limited I need. Riz isn't so I can wait

 

i ended up ordering catnip and riz heads only cuz im not bonding with my cherry or yeondu so i will just swap the heads. hope the wait is a little shorter for a more simple order than i usually place

Spamming here is great, I need to share more of my MSDs. I realize I have way more Luts than anything else, 2 KDFs and a hybrid I just love the KDF size and cuteness.

 

It seems that there'll be at least one more kid delf released in this winter event, Tomato (Twitter link) I actually kind of really like his(?) droopy eyes but I want to see the unpainted version before deciding anything further.

 

Tomato! I think Diez is the limited MSD this time, so I hope that means Tomato will be unlimited.

Also general question to the thread; how does bronco compare to their normal and the real skin brown? It seems to be a very light tan?

 

So what's the deal with these offline event preorders? I absolutely love the Kai Elf head, hate to think this would be the only chance to get it and I'd miss out because it's in-person pickup only... has Luts done stuff like this before but then offered the same heads for shipping?

 

Barely tan, light tan. RSB is the most olive colored tan that ever existed. I don't think it matches anything.

They have done them before, it's usually limited heads or limited makeup.

The elf Kai was available when they released the normal Kai but you had to buy the full doll to get it as a gift see here. "* "Kid Delf KAI Elf Ver head" will be given to you when you purchase KDF KAI or KDF45 during the event period to commemorate LUTSDOLL's 23rd anniversary." So there's a chance that somebody bought it and might be willing to part from the elf head but I don't remember seeing anybody post pictures of theirs anywhere. :/

 

I asked LUTS on the Q&A board about this event. They said they won't be doing an online (for shipping) event T_T. I would like to buy a head Bory romance elf.

Seems were getting more elf eared sculpts in the April (Twitter link) direct image link, not sure if it works but figured I'd try at least since Twitter sucks. It's Melon, Kai and Shallot. Unsure if this is the same elf Kai as earlier but just in case I'll mention you @shinka_cat since you were interested in it earlier, you seem to get your chance at getting it after all.

 

Thank you for sharing this! I was able to get a Kai Elf head secondhand but wouldn't mind twins (Honestly wish they had done an Enoki Elf alongside Shallot instead of Melon - Enoki Elf would be sooooo cute!)

I was so happy to see that Luts is releasing more Kai content! It’s definitely one of my favorite sculpts from Luts, so I loved seeing this new elf version. I’m still currently waiting for my KDF Kai to arrive… Stop tempting me to get more, Luts!

I really want to know which heads will be discontinued. I got 6 picked out for the sale, 3 kid delfs and 3 delfs. But that's assuming they aren't discontinuing any new dolls haha there's a few more kid delfs I'd like but they are newer sculpts like Riz and Melon. I want to get another Basil, Madeleine and Duri. Fingers crossed.

 

I also wish they would mark who is going to discontinue, I plan to pick up one of these kdf as I love several of them on the list but not wanting to hoard a bunch of floating heads, knowing who it's the last chance to get, would make the choice much easier grateful for the head only sale nonetheless

What a strange way to handle it. A bad sale in one event doesn't seem to be a good decision base for discontinuation. For example if a lot of people already own a sculpt, less people will buy it in the event, despite it being a loved sculpt.
Also there will surely be a lot of people like me that will focus on the limited sculpts because they are harder to get at other times.

This makes me nervous

 

It makes sense to me. I doubt they are going to get rid of popular sculpts that are selling at a stable rate if they do poorly in this event. There's decades of data they have that we don't on the sales side of things, and this event is going to be giving them even more.

Like, if an older head suddenly gets a lot of sales in this event and it wasn't before, it could be a sign it might sell more if they update the listing with a restyle and new pictures. There are a lot of sculpts I've chosen not to buy simply because there's not enough in the listing for me to feel comfortable doing so, but the event is tempting me buy. I'm sure others feel the same way.

 

I put 7 heads on layaway. I'll have 14 floating heads after this. I will be spending next year, and probably the year after that, on bodies and wigs/eyes/clothes. I didn't want to risk it. Only kid delf I didn't get that's on my list is Riz, I assumed since she is so new she is safer than others. Kiwi is a maybe for me, and an older sculpt but with 7 already picked, I couldn't add yet more. Hopefully she survives the draft lol

 

I would be nervous to have so many floating heads. But, I understand.

 

Somehow I have ended up getting two more Kai elf heads in addition to my current normal and romance Kai. That sculpt is just so sweet I can't help it!

I am seriously eyeballing so many heads thanks to this event, my wallet is soooo doomed. So far I really want romance elf Diez, mdf Breeze, and hdf Choco. Not knowing what may be discontinued makes the fomo stronger too...

 

Is bronco similar enough in color to switch milk tea or soom tawny to work as hybrids?

 

There are at least a couple of people on Marketplace that are currently selling dolls that were recently casted as Bronco. And, Stelladolls has also shared her doll in Bronco. I made post #447 to show how Soom Tawny would compare with RSB. Sorry for repeating information, I just figured it would save time [looking and waiting for photos to post] if the links were not broken.

I would think that Bronco is cooler toned and than Milk Tea Rose. I don't know how consistently they photograph.

Spoiler: TLDR - maybe Bronco could be blushed darker to match Dollits Light Brown

Recently on the Le Moon thread, someone had asked how Switch Milk Tea Rose compared to Dollits. Not knowing the matches, I took a guess that Milk Tea Rose was lighter than Dollits Light Brown. Later, that person confirmed that the Dollits artist had suggested Light Brown as the best match. The headcap on the left was Lunarmate Soom Tawny. The brown face in the photo is Chicabi Latte (Chicabi makes that to match Dollits Light Brown). The white face is NOT paper white, but it match really well to Luts White (confirmed in the Luna Blac thread). I believe that you may be able to blush Bronco darker to match Chicabi Latte. Chicabi does not create the color on demand, like Dollits would. I want to say that Latte is a neutral tone and Soom Tawny is warm.

I am sorry that I don't have experience with Bronco and that no one that has seen or has owned Bronco could confirm if it might work. The only thing that I can offer is to photograph the Soom Tawny next to Chicabi Latte.

 

Where is there information about some sculpts being discontinued? Like is that on their main site somewhere?

Are they discontinuing dolls at the end of the summer event or a specific sale?

I really like Lemon and it will be disappointing if I miss out on a chance to get her

 

I'm gonna make a wild prediction and guess that they'll probably discontinue lots of smaller than kid delf doll sizes and possibly other sizes they haven't made new dolls in for ages. Another I think it's on the chopping list are all the sizes they haven't ruined with the awful wide shouldered body yet. I'm surprised if any of the kids are going to be discontinued (unless some of those sculpts truly are super unpopular)

Sorry for the double post, but I have a few more general questions…

1. Is the current wait time less if a doll is ordered without a face-up? Wait times in the thread currently seem to be around 3 months (longer for dolls ordered December/January)

2. Do less popular sculpts take longer?

The only other doll I bought from Luts was a Bory girl back in 2009, no face-up. I expected a 2-3 month wait at the time but got her in a little less than a month. That was so long ago though! It was during their summer event that year.

Also yes, anything with a faceup will take a little longer. But I wouldn't let that stop you from ordering a faceup if you really want it, since it really only adds maybe a week or two usually.

 

I ordered a Bory head with faceup B in white skin! I can't wait for it to arrive!!! I'm planning to do a hybrid with the new 1/4 body from GEM of Dolls!

 

Well, I found the news about the discontinuation a bit concerning so I also tried to send in a Q&A about it as well.
I was trying to ask two main things: 1, if they had a list of sculpts that were 'definitely safe' from the discontinuation, and 2, if they would have a good-bye or discontinuation event for the dolls that did not sell well this time. This was the only response I got:

Please note that the discount event will not be held before discontinuation, so please refer to the fact that Head parts are sold separately only at the 2025 event.

I have been trying to understand the fourth line, about the discount event. If I'm understanding it right, they are saying that there will not be any sort of discount/good-bye event before discontinuing those sculpts, and so that the head parts being sold separately should be considered the closest thing to it? TBH I'm really not really sure, so everyone is welcome to speculate with me....

I can only be relieved that the sculpt I wanted the most is a limited/event KDF one I already own, but I spent all evening trying to figure out if this means they may discontinue sculpts they've had available for years if they don't sell well after this... because if that were the case, I fear a lot for my future (slightly off topic) Tiny Delf plans.

I've decided all I can do is wait and see (since realistically I can't afford even just multiple heads right now...) but it is very troubling how unclear they are being this time around. I only remember them doing a good-bye sale for the Baby Delfs before and were very upfront about it, and they've been so reliable and consistent outside that from the last several years from what I have seen, so I really don't know what to make of this.
