Luts Kid Delf Discussion part 17

I’ve always just used 14mm in my kid delfs.

 

What does this mean 16/6 and 14/5?

 

The first number is the size of the whole eye (so 16/14mm), latter is how wide the iris is (6/5mm).

 

Today I was able to take a rather nice photo of my centaur. I wouldn't be able to say what her eye size is.



She has the "satyr" head with the down pointing ears. LUTS switched it out for me. Her face-up is from Angeltoast.

 

Got a picture of my Sweety Basil; she has a new wig and eyes and I love how she looks now. When the weather gets nice again I'm going to take some pictures outside I think.

does anyone know if luts wigs have light colored fabric cap even for darker colors? i know formydoll does this but wasn't sure about luts too

 

I just checked on a black Luts wig (purchased 2023) and the wig cap is tan/nude, but the hair is dense enough that you can't see the cap.

So I'm unexpectedly going to get a winter event head...I ordered together with a local community member because she wanted one but they sent the wrong color. I posted on their Q&A board and within 24 hours I got an apology and tracking for a new head.
So that leaves us with two heads since they don't want the other one back.
They seem to have spares for situations like this, which is very convenient for us.
I have no plans for the head yet. But I'll come up with something.

 

I think Luts is starting to post more teasers for their summer event soon. I'm making a guess but that probably is a kid delf in the picture. Excited to see who it is and what style / theme

 

Are we expecting this to be a makeup refresh for an older face, or a new sculpt?

Good question, to me the lip to nose distance looks a lot like Diez since that really bothers me about his face so of course that's what I always notice about it. but last summer event also had Diez and it would be pretty boring if they're already doing him again as some special version. I get that he's one most popular sculpt they have but come on, let the others have their turn too! Therefore I hope I'm wrong and it isn't Diez but if it is then I told so! :'D They've posted some more teasers but those are all senior delfs. Maybe towards the end of week we'll get some kid delfs too?

I'd cry happy if they did kid version of Kai, that'd be so adorable. ;__;

Looks like the first wave of the summer event won't have anything smaller than senior delfs and bigger. But the event gift kid head was revealed and it's going to be rerun of winter 2020 one. I'm kind of disappointed? I mean, I love the Winter2020 head and have it so I'm glad more people can get it but the same time them rereleasing it, especially this soon, is pretty boring.

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that they feed us later in the summer.

 

Yeah he's listed on their announcement too unfortunately. Elf eared SD Diez made a comeback too. And both have "encore" written under the first image in the post. To me if they're going to do reruns of the event heads they could at least pick older heads to do so, 2020 wasn't even 5 years ago. :/

 

The summer event so far leaves me cold. The KDF head is kinda boring, hmm.

Here's the winter event head though. I like it because she has sleepy eyes and interesting ears.

I have ordered a ResinSoul body for her. Told them to colormatch from pictures, hopefully what I get will look somewhat close-ish

 

Talking about event heads, here's my Winter2020 kiddo Winter (I'm very creative with names) aka the same head they're giving as gift for this summer event now.


Just in case anyone wondered how one could for example look like with mediocre face paint, bad camera angle and little bit of photoshopping to hide the worst flaws of the picture (stray hairs on the face mostly and some brightening) also added little bit of shine in her eyes since it was pretty dark when I took these.

I should repaint this poor kid (too) honestly.

 

@digi Aww, she's so cute though! Honestly, all my faceups are kinda flawed, I'm always afraid to repaint older dolls because I'm not sure I could do better.

 

Looks like the second wave will have at least one kid in it, they revealed Maneul on Twitter today.

I'm curious to see who the sculptor is since their face is somehow completely different from what I'm used to seeing on kid delfs.

Ohh, now that is a cute sculpt! Does look fairly different from their usual offerings, somehow. Hmm...

 

They're teasing something hooved on Twitter and I might be in serious trouble if it's a kid delf. *sweats nervously* I always say I don't want fantasy dolls but after getting Doll Leaves' Deer Leilia that kind of flew out of the window, now I want all the dolls with hooves instead not needing shoes if just so handy. I'd also go for a mermaid given chance for the same reason.

 

Those clear antlers have my attention. O.O

@xyuemoto Oh I had no idea they had posted that. I suppose that could mean it's actually senior delf then since they did unicorn-satyr for the size last event so the body for it exists already and it's likely easy to modify to work with Muse type body if not already compatible by default. I hoped it would be a kid sized version of it. :')

 

Thank you so much for the pictures! MDF feet are about the same length as the minifee but their arch is much steeper which makes them not fit. If only the 45's feet were a bit smaller cause I think the arch is almost exact as a minifees. All of the cute shoes I find are for minifees and I am not a fan of them so I was hoping I could shove a KDF45 foot into them Thank you again!

I've been waiting for this moment lol. I love anything with hooves and Yul is my favorite of their small sculpts. I was hoping for this over another centaur release and have been waiting for a more anthro style MSD size from them. I'm not thrilled about the 45 body (I reallllly don't like it) but maybe I can hybrid something. Can't pass him or the new colors up

Yeah same, I'm not a huge fan of the new bigger body either, the wide shoulders are just awkward and make their heads look stupidly tiny and them not so cute. I wonder if the feet would be compatible with the regular KDF or MDF body and will be sold separately because then I could just put them on a body I like and not get full doll.... I really should be concentrating on the dolls I have already and not planning on purchasing new ones though to be honest.

Either way though, I'm dying to see everyone's satyrs once they start rolling in, just like with the centaurs, I love looking at them

 

I've been waiting for another Yul Satyresse release, but I can't really tell how different her face is from the past heads? What makes it a sweety sculpt? Is it the eyes are a bit more lidded or is the mouth open wider? It's hard for me to compare it to my girl.

 

I'm happy you said all this, because it's EXACTLY how I feel. They are oddly disproportionate. My uni Diez was the first KDF45 body I got and the wide shoulders and long legs and the fact their arms can't go down by their sides - and his head just looks crazy tiny on the body. Too long for the head size too. It's all so strange. So it's a relief to hear I'm not alone lol! I might take one for the team though and see if a hybrid is possible. Those hooves would look adorable on the shorter body. I hope Yul's head is the same as the old ones and not resized for the body.

 

Well a satyresse would solve my shoe dilemma Yul was my first sculpt so this is definitely tugging at my heart. I also really like the new Manuel sculpt. If I could get satyros Yul’s faceup on him, I think it’d be the perfect combo for me! But I don’t think Luts will do faceup swaps :/

 

I think it's worth asking? I've definitely seen dolls on the resale market listed as like, "Hodoo with Carrot Faceup" or similar, which suggests it's something they've done in the past, at least.

 

They do! *Click* you can ask them to put different face-up on another same size doll, it'll cost little extra but if it's something you want it's doable. But I'd post to their Q&A board first to make sure that specific change is possible just in case and because there might be additional fees.

The KDF listings are now posted on the website! Now that I see the Maneul head blank, I’m not as in love as I thought I would be. The sculptor is listed as g.onion. I’m not familiar with this sculptor or if they’ve sculpted other Luts dolls in another size. I’d be interested in seeing their other works if someone knows their socials to share.

Honestly think I may go with the Yul Satyr head and see if I can get it on the femme body (and with the brown pearl parts but I may be pushing it with that ). I wish we could do a fantasy color for the animal leg parts!

 

I was like, "Oh, I don't really like fantasy parts, this isn't going to hit me over the head like a brick," but then I saw the outfits (and the human versions and Yul Sweety Elf) and now I'm like "aw... jeez"

I hope that/wonder if they'll release the outfits separately tho. It looks like they might have done in the past when you go far enough back into the clothing section.

 

The Satyrs are so tempting to get in one of the event special colors. Blue or a dark tan.

I wonder how the face up change between two dolls would look. Like, if one is a small eye sculpt and the other big eye, I have a hard time to imagine how the expression will turn out.
Is there something like a special Instagram tag for such Luts doll I could check for examples?

 

Does anyone have any experience with both types of heel feet for KDFs? There's one that says version two, but it doesn't look very different than the first except for maybe being a bit daintier and I'm wondering if there are any structural differences between the two.

 

I have version 2 and I think it’s just meant for the slimmer body sculpts like KDFG7 while version 1 is for the wider sculpts with bigger joints.

 

I've been waiting for another male elf Yul release but am not into the new eye shape. :/ I liked the prior Romance version and would have ordered him in a heartbeat if he wasn't so squinty. Gonna have to think this over if I want this new version head. Might order him just for the body. Uber tempted by the female outfit for my female elf Yul that I put on a Model Delf body too.

I kind of hoped that they'd offer the satyr body with any-head option or just sell the body or better yet just the feet separately. I don't like any of the heads available for it so my desire to order one disappeared. guess I'll sit back and wait for the model delfs in the third wave then so I can be disappointed when they're all in the new bigger size which I don't like. But hey, helps me safe money when there's nothing that's a must buy.

 

I didn't event think about the new Model Delfs as a centaur. Those are gonna be BEEFY.

 

In case anyone else was curious, I asked Luts and they said that the makeup change service is only for regular default makeup and not limited.

I think I’m going to hold off on ordering until the limited model delf dolls are revealed. I really like the Maneul brown pearl parts but not feeling the limited makeup enough to buy them. I won’t be heartbroken if I don’t order anything this event but I wanted to take advantage of the chance to order a doll in rosy brown before they transition to only offering it for certain dolls
