We finally got a picture of the new dolls to be released during winter event on Twitter and the kids revealed are Black & Pring.

 

My Luts Kafier centaur just got back from Mindy (RedIrisAtelier) from his faceup. I'm so excited to finally see him realized after all these years. Poor boy's wig needs help though XD Been in storage for a bit too long.

They've added the first batch(?) of event dolls at the Luts site so you can go check out the blank Black now they're all very pretty but (luckily) no kid-Bliss so my wallet is safe for now. I wonder if they're doing three waves of dolls again this year? There's always tiny chance I should be very worried about model delfs if any of those get added later but so far I'm just going to be here watching what others are getting instead and chatting excitedly.

I just got the Luts event email and it confirms they're doing it in waves, as it was titled the first lineup. Black and Pring are super cute but I'm also hoping for more kid and model delfs to be announced in the next lineups since I really want to order one during the event!

 

@digi I see LUTS put them up but I’ve changed my mind. I’m definitely in love with PRING now! She’s a beauty! Thankfully, she’s unlimited. My wallet can’t afford her at the moment..

Oh wow, my '45 centaur has arrived! There wasn't much info from Luts on the sizing so here is a comparison to a kid centaur (excuse the poor quality/ scrappy background, wanted to grab some quick snaps before I started dressing him up).

You can really see the size difference from above, the '45 is very big and heavy

But anyways, working towards getting my Friesian horse boy put together...

Not sure what head sculpt I will use. The Soom head here looks quite good with the wig so is a contender (i'm just not a huge fan of non-smiling sculpts). I still need to make replacement pieces of the outfit as I could only get an incomplete set. I think some bits need a little size adjustment too.
For fun I tried a pair of horse ears but I think they're a bit too small

I’ve owned a kid delf for many years but this is my first time posting in the thread, hi everyone! Love seeing everyone’s gorgeous dolls!

I have been itching to add a Bory to my collection for a long time now but I can’t seem to decide if I want a Romance Bory, or a Bory in a tan resin. Or… both? Anyone know if there has ever been an option to order a Romance Bory in real skin brown or light tan?

In the meantime, take this pic of my girl Fey as a peace offering. She’s a Wintery 2012, which is Kiwi but with elf ears.

Would anyone be able to help me with a question about the girl type 6 body? I want to get a new body for my Hanael as I’m not a big fan of the type 5 she’s currently on, but I’m worried about flexibility on the type 6, specifically at the hip/thigh joints. I don’t need it to be able to do a full splits like my type 1 can (which is likely aided by being loosely strung right now lol), but the relative lack of flexibility in the type 5 is annoying sometimes, especially when I’m trying to do more casual poses in chairs & such. I made a comparison photo of the KDF bodies I own & was wondering how the type 6 compares.

edit: I think this is a joint shape issue vs a stringing issue, but I could be totally off here, so please feel free to tell me if I’m just being oblivious haha. Hanael doesn’t seem too tightly strung & feels similar to Bory’s stringing, who is more flexible, but I don’t know.

Unfortunately body 6 (and 7 since it's the same body with smaller breasts) doesn't really pose any better than 5, the blue haired girl has body 6 and blonde is on the older romantic body.

I think it's because the legs are strung separately from the body instead of them going up to the neck. If you bend them more the elastic might pop out from its holder and then the whole leg would fall off so it's probably sculpted in such way that there's really no room to turn it that far.

 

Ahh okay, I had no idea that they’re strung differently! Thank you so much! Definitely just going to go with the type 1 then.

I came back to this thread for all the cute horsies and centauries. I will never own a centaur doll but I LOVE what people do with them. It's like the best of MLP and Barbie in one.

Between regular Bory, dreaming Bory, romance sweety Bory, and all the elf versions, I very well could have a Bory for every day of the week

I love the romance sweety head but I don’t think getting one in tan is an option, but of course the basic Bory is still adorable as anything I actually placed an order for a couple of different kid delf hands- one in rs Brown and the other in rs Light Tan to compare the colors. I’m slowing down on doll purchases this year, but I’m hoping to order my Bory during their summer sale this year!

 

Can confirm the sweety romance head is one of the cutest! I don't have any elfin Bory but maybe that'll change.

 

My Ttori came this week; they're so cute! I don't see many of them around; maybe their face is not conventionally appealing?
I'm debating swapping their eyes for 16mms in the same color (they're currently wearing 14mm which is maybe a little small? What do you guys think?).



I put a Yuz in my queue, as well... does anyone have one that they wanna show?
I think all my KDF wishlist is done for now (until Luts makes a satyr KDF). :3

I have a Ttori on a girl body and it is a very cute sculpt! Definitely one of the less shared but no less beloved sculpts. Please keep sharing!

 

Looks like Luts is discontinuing some bodies and they're in 20% sale. Just in case somebody needs a body or few for their dolls. For kid delfs they're discontinuing:
Kid Delf Body GIRL Type 3 Classic Body
Kid Delf Body GIRL Type 5
Kid Delf Body GIRL Type 5 Romantic Ver
Kid Delf Body BOY Type 3 Classic Body
Kid Delf Body BOY Type 5

Although on the English site boy type 5 doesn't appear to have lowered price and instead Kid Delf Body BOY Type that isn't even mentioned in the list does?

Kid Delf Romance Body is also being removed.

It's my understanding for girl bodies that T6 is replacing T2 and T7 is the matching small bust option eventually.

This leaves us with (Girls):
T1 with Optional Romance Bust(I assume they are keeping the bust option just not the whole body option)
T2 for now (I think this one is the next to go given T6 & T7 similarity)

Well, shoot. In my last post which was not even *checks notes* 5 posts ago, I mentioned I was waiting til the summer sale to order my light tan Bory and another light tan body… Well I was planning on getting the type 5 bodies And it looks like the 20% off discontinuing sale only includes normal and white skin, so I can’t even get a discount if I order them before the end of March

I just put an order in a month ago or so, I’m sure the Luts employees will be confused why I placed another order when the first one hasn’t even shipped lol

Anyone else planning on picking up a body or two during the sale?

 

How would you guys rate the type 5 and 6 girl bodies posing? I'm considering getting a doll with either and while I think I like type 6 more, this sale offer is tempting me

For reference, my only other doll in 1/4 size has Myou type 3 girl body and I think it has okay posing. Not great but good enough. However I wouldn't really like to have a doll with worse posing than that.

I have a type 5 girl and she has decent posing. I've gotten her into some dynamic poses and she does all the standards (Sitting, walking, crouching, kneeling,) well. Do you have posing requests that I can try?

 

I would assume splits wise, the 5 and 6 pose equally awkward. Because they have thigh stringing. So I think you should get the body you like more, extra saving not really worth of you think you like 6 esthetic better

And yeah, it's also true that I should get the body I like better! I'm just blinded by the savings

 

Actually, last night as I was falling asleep I thought of a pose I would like to see! It's the sitting on the ground with knees up kind of pose. My current dolls can only pull up their knees somewhat, the hip joint doesn't allow for much movement. On the company photos for the Luts kdf bodies that pose doesn't look very impressive either

I wonder if it's difficult to detach the legs for photos? As they are separately strung. I do that with a doll I have who has a vinyl body, remove the legs and secure in the right pose with museum putty.

 

I happen to have a Type 6 and gave the pose you described a try using only the built-in joint locks. It looks pretty nice. Anyone can view the album through this link, but at this time I am not making the images publicly searchable (or posting directly here) due to doll nudity.

I'll do a more thorough comparison with an older Luts body (I'm not sure of its version, shall have to do some research~), add more poses, and try out some of the ideas speculated above.

edit: I suspect the older body I have is Type 2/Multi, and more photos have now been added, comparing range of elbow motion and showing how I did manage to successfully do the splits with Type 6's peg hip system.. It's an effort not suited for those impatient or faint of heart

I tried the pose as described and it didn't work on the Type 5 body. I did get some interesting seating poses so I can post them but she can't do knees up. She can do criss-cross applesauce.

That would be great, if you could post some pictures! I'm still just deciding on which doll brand to buy from exactly, so it would be a huge help with trying to make up my mind.

@PoeticSoul Thanks! She was face upped by Rykaan, who I don't know if they still do face ups. They did at least two of my dolls (her and her "father" ) and the faceups have lasted very well.

Does someone have a Kid Delf body (type 1? Not numbered on the website)? The one where the legs are strung through the whole body I mean... And can tell me how it poses? I'm not sure I leg the peg strung legs, it feels like it just might pop off if I'm not careful enough when clothing/posing

 

@Hikari-chanXx I have 2 KDFs strung with the old method (A boy on the KDF 1 if I'm not mistaken...he has double elbows and single knees, and a girl on the type 5) and they both are solid but not crazy posers. The type 5 girl can do a few things well (she can hold her knee up in more than one position, like she is walking) but the boy body is easier for me to manipulate (because I'm tired and arthritic). I have an MDF body strung with the peg legs and you are correct, it is very easy for him to lose a leg when I put on the wrong thing.

 

I'm definitely getting a Luts KDF but choosing a head is so difficult haha. I really like Ani, Taro, Loe and Pring. First I thought I like Taro the most but then I realised she has the same vibe as my Myou Martha, like they are both confident and sexy but in a cute way. I can probably close Taro out of the competition, I would like to have a doll more different from the one I have.

With Loe and Pring the difficulty is that I can't really find any owner photos. However they model a couple of clothes on the Luts website and they are both so gorgeous.

Ani has loads of awesome photos, here on DoA or flickr. I'll probably get her in the end, I loved this sculpt since I first saw her years ago. Or maybe I should just buy all four??

 

Bummed out to find out about this discontinuation. Type 5 is on my wishlist. Buying it now is not the best time for me financially, but seems I have no choice :/

I'm trying to find a wig for my Rika, who has a larger head than my Basil. I tried a 7/8 that wouldn't go on, and then I tried a 8/9 and it was still a little bit too loose... Would a silicon cap help, maybe?

 

My wife has a KDF45 and we solved a similar problem with a silicon cap, yes!

 

I have a question for those of you that have the Kid Delfs. Is there a big difference between the:
Kid Delf Body BOY Type
Kid Delf Body BOY Type 2(Multi Body)

I can see the thigh difference in the picture, but what about the knee joints? Do both bodies have double joints on the knees? Or are they both single jointed on the knees? It looks like the standard body might only have single jointed knees, but there is no clear picture on the website of the back of the knees on Boy Type 2.

They body 2 looks very similar to the bodies of my Honey Delf and my Senior 65 Delf where as the standard body looks a bit clunky and looks like it might have single jointed knees. I would definitely pay a bit more for Body Type 2 if the legs were double jointed and the regular body didn't have the double knee joints.

Can someone please tell me the difference between the joints in the bodies?

 

Does everyone prefer 14mm or 16mm eyes in your kid delf?
