Oh wow! She looks positively stunning. Great shot!

 

I went to the Goodwill outlet for one thing, the starry grey t-shirt for fabric for my Yosds, but I went a little overboard xD
But hey, at $1.99 a lb, it all came up to like $4 so...

I figure, my new Jamong will get some pants with the stretch denim, and the stack of patterned baby clothes in the top left corner will make some great tees, so she will get a couple cute outfits and maybe stop pouting lol.

And Kit, my Berry's not getting left out. I'm determined to try again on a white fancy shirt for her. Fourth time's the charm right?

Those eyes were the "random" eyes that she came with. I did buy a pair of blue eyes, but I really liked the green so just stuck with them.

I feel the outfit making feels. I need to make a fabric store run for some stuff for my DZ boy, but I also want to make some stuff for Toshimaru when he gets here (finally getting a Yul head, yay!!). But the only fabric I have is pretty thick and heavy, and I figure a light cotton would be better for a yukata. Hopefully I can find something that works! (And not mess it up with my awful sewing skills... ) I'd love to see what you make, if you want to share later!

 

Thanks. Yours is the only other Darae that I've seen here. Yours is a boy, it's amazing how much different that the same sculpt looks when you change the wig/faceup/clothes (err, and body )

 

It honestly is so crazy how much sculpts can change with different faceups and stuff. I kind of want to get Aelic repainted actually, but I'm a little worried he won't look like himself!

And while I'm here... (Ah, who am I kidding, I just wanna show him off-) A new arrival! His name is Toshimaru and he's a Romance Yul (with the Moonlit Song faceup). I got him secondhand on the MP and I absolutely adore him already, even if he doesn't have a body (he's currently, erm...sharing Aelic's). (He's also sharing my DZ boy's wig while he's off getting painted.) I hope to get some better pictures soon, and either make or buy a yukata or kimono for him (because Aelic's clothes are really not his style)... But anyway, here's a quick snap with terrible lighting, which he makes look good anyway.

Thanks guys! Right now I'm thinking a lot about his faceup, because I love it, it's so gorgeous... But it really doesn't fit the character. I'll probably keep it for a bit and decide what I want to do with it later. (I really love the faceup on the newer Romance Yul, so I might go for an aesthetic a bit more like that.)

 

I have a Yul myself. Love the sculpt! But I have some personal issues with her default, as it has a LOT of purple in it that I did not expect. :3 I want to have her repainted eventually, but.. I have a lot of dolls in line waiting for that X_X

Hopefully, this year. I want to dress her up and feel like she's complete.

 

I just received my first Kid Delfs yesterday. SteelHeart Twins in brown skin with Kafier and Pine heads. They are awesome and I'm in love. Totally Worth the wait. They have no pant and no face-up, no wigs, no clothes, and no names. I am so excited to get started working on them. I'm not sure what color I'll paint their parts, maybe something metallic? I made a box opening thread as well. Anyway, here they are:

They are so cool! I really like the Kaifer head~ I bet they're both gonna be awesome when you get them finished!

While I'm here, I've got a quick question for anyone with Yuls (or any sculpts, honestly). I'm thinking of getting this wig for Toshimaru, but I'm kind of worried it won't fit; it should, 'cause it's from Luts and all, but I have a 7-8" Luts wig for my Darae and that won't fit Toshi at all. Not even a little bit.

I was gonna look at the measurements for the model in the wig pictures, then compare them to Yul's measurements, but there are no measurements for Yul on the site! I'd really like this wig for Toshi, but I don't want to get it if it won't fit... What do you all have on your Yuls? Or other big-headed KDFs?

 

Comparing all of my KDFs, Yul has a fairly large noggin, but I think a Luts branded 7-8 should be fine, honestly. I think any 7-8 should, honestly, work, unless it either runs quite small or doesn't have much stretch to it.

I can try a Luts brand wig on my Yul, if you'd like.

 

Thanks! Yeah, the 7-8" I have for my DZ boy works fine on Toshi, so maybe it's just that particular wig I got for Aelic that's kind of weird? I did get both Aelic and that wig like five years ago if not more, so maybe Luts has changed stuff a bit since then.

And if it's not too much trouble, I'd love to hear if a Luts wig fits! It really should, considering it's from the same company. Maybe I'm overthinking things a bit.

They definitely are inspired by AI sculpts. Luts said so on their FB. There was also a contest where if you guessed the sculpt name you were entered into some kind of drawing.

 

Ah, perfect! She's adorable~ I feel like the wig I want will probably be fine, so I'll probably go ahead and get it. Thank you!

And as for the new KDFs, I think they're cute too~ Not the most original, maybe? But I loooooove the little outfits they have, they're so so cute!

 

Not a KDF owner (yet, as I hope to be someday)... but I just had to say I am very happy to see CH Yeonou and Yeondu. I hope LUTS releases Marco in the future, too.

 

Oohhh my goodness! Has anyone else seen the Luts Easter event? Those little lop bunny ears are too adorable! I'm so tempted to get some, even though I don't really have anyone they'd go with right now. Who doesn't love cute bunny ears?

@KiyoshiSenshi , yes the new ears are definitely cuuuuute! They are tempting me to move my next order up in my schedule a bit.. I need another body for one of my heads, but if I need to order the full doll to get the ears, I might do that and find myself with a spare head. No worries there, though. I already am concocting plans for it.

 

Yes! A bunch of my friends and I are ordering them. And they look so much better than the ones I'm currently using for my White Rabbit character.

I love A LOT of KDFs, but I dream of buying a set of Kiwi twins in RSB someday (one OE, one R.Kiwi). I know exactly who they would shell!

For a while I also had Carrot on my wishlist---still tempts me from time to time, lol. I'm a sucker for all the LEs with droopy elf ears, too. (My weakness!)

 

Oooo, I love Carrot too~ And I love the outfit on the boy version in the company pictures, it's so so so adorable! I really don't need anymore KDFs but man they're addicting! And same about the droopy ears! Now that I have Yul with the upturned elf ears, I'll eventually have to get a droopy eared one to go with him. So many choices!

 

On my list.. I still want Aru and Salgoo.. And maybe Pine. xD These KDFs are so addicting.. And if Sleeping Aru ever gets re-released, I'm in trouble. :P

I think the droopy elf ears are adorable, too!

I need to paint my others ASAP. :3 its just tough to get spots with my favorite artists in the volume that I require. xD

Her wig hides her ears, but I am happy knowing the little points are under there somewhere!
Her eyes just came in today, and I had poo for lighting to work with, but I had to take a photo to celebrate. I have wanted this girl so badly for such a long time and I am so giddy! Her head was a b-day gift, found her a body for a crazy good deal, and now she has the perfect wig and eyes!

 

@Tonboko, I love your Ani! She's absolutely adorable, and the Ani sculpt is one that has always been on my favorites list...along with Curly and Carrot and Choco and now the new Yeondu as well. Luts is truly very addictive! Their dolls are so amazing, and each one looks so different with their individual owner's unique touches. I've always said that if I'd ever decided to collect only one company's dolls, it would have been Luts. That ship has long since sailed of course...but yeah.

 

I agree with the statement o n if I can only buy a doll from one company, it would be luts! I'm nearly there anyways with having 19 dolls and only 3 are from else where. xD
Plus I have 2 more luts babies on order. Granted, my layaway has been slow but luts is working with me. Can't wait to have my model delf cian and Romantic Kiwi on a model delf body home. xD

 

Are there any opinions on the type 5 body yet? I know a couple of people here have it and I'd like to see what the posing capabilities are like.

 

I second Selenae! I really like how the Type 5 body looks, that belly is so cute~ But I don't know how I feel about those peg hip joints, and the calves/ankles seem kind of chunky to me. I wish Luts had a KDF body with double jointed knees but with full body stringing instead of the hip peg thing.

 

Since the Type 5 is strung similarly to the Multi, I haven't purchased it thus far, as I'm fairly sure it'll have similar problems to the multi body, which I reviewed and posted in the Photo Reference section.

However, maybe they have improved on the sitting ability, at least. Though I'm still fairly confident that the Type 1 is best for more complicated poses.

That being said, the Multi body is NOT a bad poser. It's actually really good. Better than a lot of companies. It's just not AS good as the Type 1, imho.

I do think it looks awfully cute though, and I think it stands a bit taller than the other two. So that might push me to purchase one in the future, for a hybrid.

 

When I eventually get my Type 5 boy, I am going to be sorely tempted to try and mod him to have normal stringing. I am not a fan of the peg system.

 

I was thinking of doing something like this too. I guess how everything fits together would determine how you'd do it...if the notch is sideways as opposed to verticle on the hip joint (like the type 1 body) then I feel like it'd be weird even if you got the elastic to go all the way through the body and hips, because it wouldn't have space to bend at 90 degrees? Hmm... I don't think I'm articulating this well. I guess it'd just have to wait until the body was there to really see the mechanics of it. I do wish they'd just kept the normal stringing though and just added jointed knees...

 

Pardon the awful background, but I couldn't resist showing off some more Toshi~ He's just so cute. I'm honestly really surprised with the skintone match here, considering Toshi is white skin and Aelic's body is normal. Even in person they're much closer than I would have expected; it's worst under his chin where the skin is darker and shadowed, but I don't notice it that much, surprisingly. (I really need to get Toshi's hair though, because Ilya is gonna want his back when he gets back from his faceup. )

Sounds like, from your skin tone comparison, that he's probably the older release. I am guessing?

Thank you, and he is indeed older! He's the Moonlit Song Yul from 2013 (I think that's when it was released, at least), so I'm sure it's mellowed a bit. It does look really close to my new DZ white skin though, and does look more white than yellow or cream. And I love the faceup too! I was really torn with what I wanted to do with it for a while, but I think eventually (probably when I'm done with most of Ilya's stuff) I'll get it redone to look more like what I imagine for Toshi's character. I hate to remove that beautiful limited faceup, but...the character comes first for me.

As for his hair, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get this wig from Mintoncard. Hopefully, at least, considering it's sold out on Luts. I need to hurry up and get it! I'm a little worried about how it'll act around his ears, but I think it'll be okay. And so cute~ Once I get his whole look done, he's gonna be super different!

 

Aww that wig on a boy makes me think of Haku, from Spirited Away. That's one of my favorite movies.. I hope you're able to get it!

 

Yeah! I wasn't thinking about him exactly, but now that you've mentioned him, he was probably in the back of my mind as inspiration for Toshi (or at least his hair). I love Haku and that movie!

 

She is so cute!! I want an Ani girl one day. I already have a boy whom I adore but to have a girl, too? I'd be in Heaven. Her wig is perfect for her and I love her eyes. Do you mind my asking where you got them? I can never find the right colored violet eyes.

I think, without meaning to, I HAVE been collecting mostly from one company: Luts Kid Delfs to be precise. I have some
DODs and Dollshes but so many Kid Delfs its ridiculous. But each one is just so adorable and so perfectly customizable! Even when you have the same sculpt, just changing one thing makes them look so different.

And sorry for those who are going to get spammed but I wanted to share a pic I took this morning of my new dollie: Bory elf in brown skin. His name is Wren.

The eyes are from Mako Eyes. They are Dandelion 19 but with black pupils (Mako lets you swap out any colored pupil for black, no charge).

The wig is from Monique one I got from Audrey's. The style is called Lillie and the color is Milk. Audrey's is the cheapest place I have found for Monique wigs, their normal price is always 30% off retail! There is a $25 minimum order, but if I am buying a wig that is less than that, I just tack on some eyelashes to bump it up as it never hurts to have extra eyelashes hanging around.

I need to get over how much smaller the new heads are. I love the sculpts, but they look so tiny next to my older dolls heads!

Thank you! And I love Wren, he's so cute. Those downturned elf ears are just the cutest thing~ And I love how his eyes match his surroundings! It seems like he was made to be in nature.

And now, Aelic spam! His body got a bit of an overhaul today... I was originally just going to restring his torso/legs, 'cause he was soooo floppy, but then I figured if he's gonna be in pieces I should at least get rid of the staining from his old jeans... So that turned into a magic eraser bath, and then I couldn't just leave his chest and arms dirty, so those came apart too. Anyway, he is now squeaky clean and much less floppy, though I ended up having to just tighten and reuse his old elastic. The new elastic I got was too thick and barely fit in his little hooks on his feet, so they had no movement whatsoever. I'll get him all new elastic eventually, but...for now, he's fine! (I feel kinda bad for kicking Toshi off Aelic's body but...it is Aelic's, after all. :P )

Awww, thank you. I really do think I prefer the green eyes. But the violet eyes soften him somehow. Sigh. Decisions, decisions.

I really need to take most of my crew apart and give them a deep cleaning. I'm too lazy, though.

Toshimaru's hair got here today! I'm really glad I snagged the last one on MoC, and it fits Toshi's massive noggin! I was a little worried about it when I first started wrestling it on; it's not exactly the right shape for Toshi's head, but it goes on and stays, and is thick enough that you can't tell anything weird about it. I'll stick him on Aelic's body tomorrow and hopefully get some decent pictures!


Here we go! I know I've been spamming Toshi all morning, but I really like the pictures I took today. I'm so happy the wig fits! (His "outfit" is a piece of fabric draped over his shoulders...I really need to get him some proper clothes. :P )

What is everyones favorite kid delf sculpt and why?
My favorite is the summer '14 head. I lucked out being able to get mine since my sister ordered a Kid delf nana during the event and I was able to snag it off of her (as well as a body, so she got a discount on the shipping because of it. Lol)
Prior to his release, I'd have to say Yuz was my favorite. thus Hiro and Sora are now boyfriends. Lol because what's better than pairing your two favorite molds into a couple?
And because of hiro, I created an elaborate story around all of my MSDs. (He was my fourth MSD)
I don't trust photobucket on my work computer, so I can't tie in a picture of him. D: Maybe I'll edit to add one later~

 

@Fate, have you tried using imgur? I switched over to them and find it's a much easier site to use.

 

That's so cute! My Darae Aelic is gonna have a Souldoll boyfriend (because Joelle.D and his little smirk is perfect for Aelic's snarky other half...)

But I'd probably say my favorite KDF is Romance Yul (which I have now, yay!), because he's just so adorable but also dreamy and ethereal, and I love his pouty lips~ I don't like the open eyed version as much, though I do like the droopy ears on the girl elf. But I'm perfectly happy with my Toshi and his lil pointy ears~ (Now I just need to find another Romance Yul head so I don't have to get rid of the gorgeous Moonlit Song faceup...)

 

My favorite Kid Delf Sculpt is the Kid Delf Summery 2010. I love that sculpt so much! I didn't discover it until the event was over, so I haunted the secondhand market and eventually wound up with twins. They are my male Beyblader, Cloud Kurogane, and his Pokemon trainer sister, Sugar. The head has the perfect enigmatic expression that can go from happy or inquisitive, to serious and super-focused at a moment's notice...which is essential for the range of emotions I need for my gaming characters.

 

Favorite KD sculpt? It is a hard toss between Elf Ani and Elf Ttori. I think I lean towards Elf Ttori just because the ears are a bit longer and can poke out wigs and be seen better than Elf Ani's ears.
Since I managed to find those two already, the next one I would love to find is a Dreaming AN.

 

Romance Yuls are totally cute. I agree, I am not in love with the open eyed yul. Not thatI think she's bad, but I definitely prefer the romance one. I'm actually beginning to lean that way with Borys too. MAYBE in my future, I'll snag a brown skin romance Bory. Maybe.

Ah! I have a summer '10 when they re-released it 2 years ago on teh luts site. I absolutely love his face as well. He has this nice little snarky expression I adore~

Old school dollies. I have to say, I wish I would have bought a Kid delf much sooner than I had, because I feel like when they remade the old sculpts into new ones, they got a little bug eyed?
That being said, I think they're amazing. I had a ttori head for a little bit (not elf eared) and I always wanted one, but I ended up selling him since He wasn't 'necessary' or part of the plan. -sigh- He was amazing while I had him! Lol

@xellos I havent, but I really should x.x; I need to find SOMETHING else. Once upon a time photobucket used to be good.

 

Bory is another cutie! The Moonlit Song Bory is really nice, I love his little ears~

I don't know if Kid Zuzu Delfs are included here, but I'm also really intrigued by Lio. I love his mouth and little flat nose. I wish he had some teeth though!

 

I'm not big on the anthro-market (for my own collection), but I agree, Lio would look fierce with some teeth! I wonder if anyone has ever modded some in.

I adore Romance Yul too. I made mine a girl. I wasn't sure how she would turn out but I love her very much. She looks so serene. I'm also very fond of Pine and Pine Sirenita. But I think my very favorite Kid Delf is Muhwa.

 

He really does! Maybe if I ever get one I'd find some way (or someone, 'cause I probably wouldn't be doing the mod) to get some chompers in there. I don't have any anthro-ish dolls yet, but I'd really love one! And I love KDFs sooo...

 

I think my favorite right now would have to be either Ttori or Jamong. I don't have either of them yet though... So far I have a Darin at home and an Aru that is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. My Darin, Lily, is the most adorable doll I have ever owned!

I still need to get her better eyes. I'm trying to find green eyes, somewhere between peridot and emerald colored, that appear to glow. I have another pair on order that I hope to try later this week.

 

Darae She was my first BJD. Why is a little difficult, but I suppose it comes to two things: I think she's beautiful, and she has a happy expression. A lot of dolls look kinda miserable, and that's not what I want to see.

 

I have/had both! As stated before,I loved Ttori, but he was unplanned so I sent him away. D:
My Jamong is on my steel heart and I honestly love her so much more than I expected! She's buddy with my Winter '12 head, who looks pretty chipper so I think she's a great counter part for him~
And I feel you on the green eye thing. Maybe try Enchanted doll eyes or Mako eyes? (But you'll pay for them. D: )

Oh my, yes! Darae's are super cute. If you want a happy doll, by far that's the one! Lol. my friend has a Darae male and I love him. A lot. If she ever decided to get out of the hobby, I'd snatch him up .Lol (other than that, she has a cherry who looks super sad XD)
I like both grumpy/sad looking dolls and happy, so...

 

An is my favorite (I'm... a little bit biased-- but then, if he wasn't my favorite, he wouldn't have been my first doll!)-- I just think he's so sweet, but he can look thoughtful or mischievous depending on what I do with him...


My guy trying on a longer wig at a meetup a few years back... I definitely like him as a brunette, the wigs he actually wears are both brown. (but I'm looking to branch out by making him something colorful and unnatural)

 

we never see enough Ans D: He's definitely a cute sculpt! My sister wanted to get one, but was afraid his eyes looked too huge. But I think Luts just photographed him bad. (He does have a serious case of wonk eye in the luts promo pics. Lol!) I'm totally going to show her your picture and tell her her Basil, Rayne, needs him as her brother. (storm) xD

As for unnatural, maybe a dark blue if you can find it? Or teal! (for my doll). I loooove teal hair. And eyes.
