Does anyone know how far off a resin match would be between a magic time body and a kid delf head?

ETA: And the verdict with the pink skin is...not good. They are quite different.

I went to a doll meet at a park today and I was able to get some nice photos of Calia! Unfortunately all the full body shots kept over exposing and I couldn't find the manual mode on my new camera >.< I know my friends who brought their DSLRs got some photos of her though so I'll have to wait for them to get them uploaded. I'm really curious about this KDF Corni.. I know it have gotten some negative comments from fans of both Zuzu Delf and DearMine. I also have been a bit disappointed that she does not resemble Corni quite enough.

But I've got a bit of mixed feelings about her. Other people's opinions are not going to scare me from getting her if I really end up liking her after seeing the rest of the pictures though. I kinda imagine her in RSLT. Maybe she could be some kinda sister character for my Persi if she's got the right kinda anthro parts.

I kinda understand DearMine fans and others who feel she looks a bit to much DearLover like. Actually to be honest, I'm not quite sure what to think about this all. Should I feel quilty for liking her if I do..?


Is anyone thinking about getting her?

 

The listings for the summer event heads are up. Is it just me, or does the KDF event head look like a larger version of Honey Delf Pudding?

Kelpie: No! xD Not exactly. Someone was selling a body, and My sister might be buyng a Nana. And if they have a good event head this summer, I might buy the head she'd get off of her. And I'd be looking for a body I think for the head just fo rsomething different. :3 I was positive the body that was being sold was normal skintone

it is quite a cute event head, but i have too many floating luts heads as it is right now. if i was going to get another doll it would be carrot. i love that sculpt!

Fate: As far as I know, there is no "normal" Magic Time skin tone. There is yellow, pink, white, and tan X.X And ah, man, that head is too cute! Not really liking what they did with the faceup, but, gosh it's adorable. Will this be Sora's new boy toy?

 

I have a new KDF in the family! I got this event head when I received my JDF Rigel. I put him on a blue fairy body and attempted to blush him to match (for some reason I got a white skin head even though I asked for normal.) His name is Skyler.

 

I was thinking the same thing, it makes me feel a bit guilty >< I really love her though, so I guess it depends on how the body looks. And if I have the money for it...

The Summer Event head is so cute!! I think I'll be buying myself Carrot for my birthday so I'll be super happy to have that cute head coming along as well.

I haven't been bonding well with my Yul. I don't know if it's because I'm busy with work and I can't dedicate more time with her or if it's because she's a fantasy character. I'm having an outfit commissioned for her so hopefully that will help. What do you all do when you feel like you're not bonding with a doll?

 

Serein - I like Carrot too, but I do not yet know if that is because of his lovely carrot wig or the doll itself ? The summer event head has such big eyes... I wish they had been like the SD summer event head. Then he would be perfect for me. Dolls that I can not bond with tend to end up on the marketplace if I do not like the sculpt. If I do not know what it is I'll try at least twice (new face-up and outfit)to find the innitial enthousiasm before selling it. I hope you can find 'it' back for your Yul!

I have a question. When I speak of Yul I mean the female doll - but the male is also called that way? How do we keep them appart?

 

I think the distinction has mostly been R. Yul for the male and Yul for the female.

 

Thank you Cyador, I'm going to find a slot with a faceup artist and wait for her outfit to come in. If I still don't bond with her, I'll put her up for sale.

 

Good luck with her! What kind of face-up are you going to look for? And what kind of outfit?

I am waiting for my Yul´s body and horns - I am still looking for the inspiration. I do not know yet if she´ll be a sweet girl or a though little thing

 

I want her to have a very natural look with thick, unruly eyebrows. I designed her outfit to be very simple so that if it doesn't work out with her, another doll could wear it. But it includes a pair of harem pants and a belted camisole type top. I want to make her a pair of leather sandals but I don't have much time to do that.

The gold horns that came with the Yul are so beautiful! They are my favorite part of the fullset.

 

Yeah the body is important to me to. I hope it looks anthro or at least have cat paws. I hope to see more pictures soon because I'm very curious about her.

And I choose to believe that when Luts made her, it was not they're intention to copy DearMine. And I'm pretty sure they did not sit there looking at DearMine pictures while sculpting. It's just the way she happened to turn out.

And I don't think they meant to copy the ears of Dear Lover Priscilla / Dune. I agree the ears are kinda similar but not exactly a copy either. Luts are also allowed to make furry ears. Not just DearMine. Well that's just my opinion

 

I did a quick back track through here-- this boy body type three for kid delfs, I'm assuming the elbows are still double jointed, does it seem to be for you guys? Need ot order myself a body, and need to make the right decisions. xD

manabusama I agree, I really don't think they were trying to rip anyone off. And yes, cat paws are a must! I'd love cat feet as well. I am a bit worried though--usually they post more pictures by now, since the teaser came out a while ago ><

 

I'm still waiting for my Yul - It's good to see there are so many here - I'd love to see more pics of her as she's coming without faceup and I am clueless as to how she may look! She will be my first Luts doll too, so I have no idea what to expect - apart from CUTE

 

lemonlime It worry me a bit to that not more pictures is up.. Maybe they felt the need to work a little bit more on her. Like giving her cat paws\ hands and feets if she did not have it. And Maybe they are sculpting more Corni like ears to please everyone who got a bit disappointed. I would love for her to have Corni ears as well.

I really would not mind if they worked some more on her. That only means she'll get even more awesome. I really like her but I need to see more pictures before making up my mind.

 

I can possibly help with this soon (maybe tomorrow?). I bought some 1/6 ears from Magic Time in Yellow and Pink for my own resin comparison ideas, and I have a KDF Winter Event head from 2012. It's been kept in a box since I bought it secondhand last year as I've not been able to get a body yet. I can see how the resin compares though I'm not confident they will match at all. I've never been great at eyeballing it though so we'll see!

And I really love the KDF summer event head. I don't know why but I keep coming back to look at it. Makes an adorable boy!

 

STILL waiting for my Yul 'deertaur' - with growing impatience In stock item (thinkpink) bought last Friday - and not a word from them yet about despatch So I've emailed them - I'm afraid she may now get stuck in the Bank Holiday mailroom Meanwhile another doll has taken the name Diana, so I'm calling her Ellie - short for Eleftheria, which is Greek for 'Freedom' - She marks the end of a very important era in my life, so I NEED HER!!! Yes I know - I should think myself lucky it's not a 5 month wait

 

elve - I love the name Ellie! I have a Littlefee hybrid girl called Ellie (Nicknamed from Elena). I hope she arrives to you soon! Bank holidays are so annoying when you're expecting things. XD

Gave Skyler some eyelashes, I think he looks a little better now. I'll probably redo his faceup soonish.

 

I don't think you should feel guilty. I mean really look at the ears. Yes. There is some similarities but they are not out right copies. The edging goes all the way down the side on one and the fluff detail is larger on one then the other. Not only that but there is only so much one can do to ears to make them look different and still look like a particular animal's ear. Not only that but the face is different as well. Lut's has more human elements to it. Oi. I find it silly to be getting everyone riled up over it and trying to make Luts look bad when they have very skilled artists.

I want to get her when she comes out and honestly hope that they don't change anything about her.

Congratulations mikumikuowo - My doll came too! Yodel didn't knock on the door - they broke into my yard through a blocked off gate, and left the parcel in the shed! Luckily I heard him push a note through the door - crazy man! No harm done thankfully - and thinkpink included some cute little gifts too, as usual So, after many many hours of unwrapping MILES of bubblewrap I finally found her - I knew she was in there somewhere! I can't remember if you're supposed to pull the knots down into the legs, but I didn't anyway - I really should have left the instructions out to refer to! She's lovely though - and BIG This is my first Luts doll, and the resin is beautiful - like bisque porcelain - you would never think it's plastic! I have a dreadful new camera at the moment, but I managed to take a snap of her in her lovely wig, which I very fortuitously bought last month, just because I liked it - I had no doll for it and no intention of buying a Luts Yul of course - she was a moment of crazy impulse. It is in fact a 1/3 dollzone wig, but fits her perfectly - and matches her tail etc. so I am very happy I had it lying about in the wig box

I have looked more closely at her and I don't see a DearMine copy. She looks very much like a Luts sculpt to me. And I don't think the ears can be called a copy either. I can clearly see the difference! I feel the accusations is unfair to Luts. I see nothing but a Luts sculpt when I look at her..

About the ears, I like them as they are pretty much. But it would have been cool if they included a set of original Corni ears as well.

I was complaining about her in the beginning to. But I'm definitely on the supporting side now. I'd really like a MSD cat friend for my Persi. And the more I look at her the more I like her I just hope I have the money to order her if they release her.

Just curious, Is Skyler WS? Sometimes it is a bit hard to see the difference between WS and NS in pictures You did the eyes and eyelashes really well. The face-up really suits his style

So we've placed an order for my sisters Nana. i already can't wait to get my event head boy that will come with it. >w< I've been ITCHING for a new doll. Really, so bad I've been scouring the marketplace here daily, in hoping to find a good deal. xD

I'm putting a lot of thought into this doll though. I'm pondering names now, since I've got a rough idea of an outfit for him to 'arrive to', already. I'm on edge about naming him Hero [or Hiro, undecided.] Thoughts?

 

Thank you! He's a WS head but I tried to blush him to match a normal skin Bluefairy body. It's a bit uneven, so I'll probably try again before too long.

 

I'm watching Heroes right now, so the name Hiro makes me giggle. It's so cute! I think it would match the sculpt perfectly, actually. Which body will you be getting him? A Luts or are you scouring the MP for something?

thanks xkelpiex that wig is a little miracle - like she was meant to be mine as it's so perfect for (my version of) her - so pleased I bought it!

thanks manabusama I really must try and take a better photo of her! My new camera is terrible, but if the lighting improves I may get lucky after about 50 shots!

I must say the jointing design on this doll is great compared to what I'm used to - she poses so firmly with the notches in the sockets - no need to glue suede this one! I'm going to change her eyes today to some with pupils - I wish I could do faceup though! She has such a sweet face - this sculpt is what really swayed me on this impulse buy as she's just adorable I think. Well all the smaller Luts are super-cute, but I love her little button nose and open mouth

That is one doozy of an announcement, though I understand why they had to make it. Judging by their tone, making formal statements about such matters seems to be frowned upon in Korea, but I think that everyone should have the right to defend themselves and their work.

Regardless, I still don't like the sculpts very much (though at least Lio is a little more animalistic than Corni) and the lack of paws/animal hands is disappointing. Maybe something like that'll be shown once more pictures are up. I do love the outfit Kid Zuzu Lio's got on, though. I want it along with Corni's amazing wig.

 

Here is a very quick and rushed photo of my boy, Cain!!! He is a luts bory boy. He is blind in his right eye which is why it's all white right now.

These are not his normal clothes. I am waiting on his real outfit from Dollmore currently but. Here he is! I could not be more pleased...Luts gave me the green eyes I asked for, his Face up is perfect...His hair is browner than I anticipated but I almost like it more that way. My unboxing video is finishing up so I'll post that soon.

Wow that is a very interesting announcement from Luts, linked to by Wolfboy and Rinoa I always wondered about the similarity between Dearmine and zuzu delf - and also wondered why Luts only did teeny tiny animals - Now I know!

 

I feel a bit disappointed If they do not come with claw hands at least. But I still love Corni very much and most likely will have to get her anyway. But if we ask, hopefully Luts can make pawlike hands and maybe feets for they're future releases

Sadly I am a bit unsure if I get a chance to order her.. I need to have some money to spend in my vacation.

I'm really really happy for Luts's new Zuzu line and release If I can save up enough money to order Corni I will order her without the hair and outfit. I rather find a nice black, red or pink and white maid dress From AC later on.

I just hope DearMine will not have any trouble now. I am a Luts fan but I don't want to see anything happen to DearMine either. I would love to have a Dear Mine doll to in the future

In less bummer news, I LOVE the dress on Corni! Even if I can't get the doll I'll try to join a split for the dress. ^^ I'm hoping she's not a limited but I figure that's not likely >&#969;<

I just saw the teaser pic too! Omg I want it. I just hope it won't be released for a good long time. I need my summer event dolls first! XD at this rate with the bory phoenix and two kdf zuzzus (fullset I hope) I am going to be in for another long layaway from ff&d. XD and another free doll is I am guestimating the price right.

 

That teaser pic was pretty awesome. I loved the detail of the feet and the tail on that. Not that one of thos ebodies have room in my collection But still, amazing to look at. x3

I couldn't believe the ordeal luts has been going through on their zuzuline. I always stand behind luts though. I couldn't really see them copywriting anyone, anyways. They're so strongly against it..

Would you considering the Kid zuzu a separate line, or in topic in this group, being that they're luts MSD size?

Oh boy.. A winged centaur! I'm starting to feel that with all the amazing releases that Luts have done up until now, it is starting to get a little bit overwhelming

How am I supposed to save up for the other dolls on my wish list, a new camera and a Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch?!!

You realize you are becoming a slave to these dolls. You see no end to the limited releases. One more amazing than the other! Want this want that..


I'm really trying to enjoy the dolls that I do have and buy stuff for them that I know they need. I really like Corni. But now I don't know anymore if I want to order anything. I need some serious time to think

 

I'm delurking to saying I'm totally smitten with Corni. Her hair is what really just wows me, but I just love everything about her! I just wish Luts didn't release Cherry, Bory and Corni at the same time. I can't afford all three even with a FF&D layaway. Is 6 months the longest layaway they have? Anyone know?

But I'm confused as DM released a statement before saying their sculptor never worked with Luts or any other company. Its all very confusing. Or maybe it was an employee who truly didn't know? But if Luts used the same sculptor, why didn't DM just up and say so when customers brought it up weeks ago? DM seemed somewhat bothered by Luts releasing Corni. Nothing against DM I just bought Oskar, but because I love Luts dolls the most I would like to know. Being a fan of Luts since 2007, I know they aren't the type of company to copy other dolls or lie about their beloved dolls.

And a quick photo spam of my new girl. I can't wait until the weather gets better to take a photo of my Yul twins together. I luvs them so much.

The only limited dolls I have gotten from Luts so far is my KDF Borytaur and TDF Louistaur. I managed to stay away from ordering any other limited Luts releases and also the new MDF line.

I don't really want to order anything right now. But because of my ZDF Persi I have been thinking a lot about KDF Corni. I guess I can't help it if I can't forget about Corni

Lazulistar Love your girls outfit I should really work more on my BJD wardrobe as well but it is very hard to do with all the limited releases

 

Well, I'm inclined to believe LUTS, since they've had Captain Jack listed as a sculptor on several of their sculpts since those listings originally went up years ago, and if you take a look at Dearmine's human sculpts, you can see the similarity in style to dolls like Howl and Ido. The way I see it, Dearmine denying that Captain Jack worked for another company before them would be like Peakswoods denying that their sculptor created Kid Delf Ani. So, unless said statement was made by the sculptor himself, I'd say that the employee just didn't know.
