I have four full dolls from Luts, and a loose head. I've also had two other dolls previously that I sold from Luts. I have never had a single problem with ANY of these dolls. No cracks, no thin spots. Nothing. I realize flaws happen, and I also realize that yes, in some instances Luts probably does need to pay a little more attention. But if your solution is to sue because a resin cast doll wasn't perfect, they didn't catch it and bread couldn't be bothered taking notice until two months later... its probably better for Luts you don't purchase from them.
Yeah, I'm totally agree with what bread17 said. Actually, when I saw this thread, I was thinking that it might not be bread17's fault. It's about quality of resin. I hope LUTS could make more stronger and better quality of resin. I really hope my El's body could be in good condition forever.
That is awful! I am really disappointed to read how the quality was so decidedly fragile. Wouldn't the person who originally strung the doll together have seen it? Anyways, hearing this scares me as a first time buyer. Anyways, I am very sorry your experience with Luts was like that! Thank you for posting this thread!
It really didn't seem like it with the tone of the rest of your thread, so forgive my confusion. I'm glad though. It seemed like such an insane response to me. lol I was a bit taken aback when I first read it.
for first time buyers, these are mostly isolated incidents. while LUTS' response and attitude could have been better, their products are far from inferior. :3 so far, all my dolls (i've gotten 8 full dolls from them and various other heads) have arrived in perfect condition, with none of the described flaws. i suppose it's more a 'luck of the draw' kind of thing. it might be prudent to check your doll when you get it, but i wouldn't swear LUTS off entirely as a company. i believe that if you discover the flaw immediately and get back to them about it, they'd have a better response. still, it's your disicion. :3 just my contribution based on my experience with them.
What happened to bread17 is awful... more of bad luck perhaps.. and thank you for telling us about this. After read this thread, my conclusion is to check and take pics of every part of my Dion when he arrives. Just for precaution (and a prove of initial state of my doll before i play with him). Beside since he is my first bjd, i will take lot pics of him eventually.
I understand how you could be disappointed with that. My Dion is also very fragile, when they stringed him at Luts' store, they probably use a string puller and they should be late, because the inner part of a leg of my Dion has many little holes, just as if the resin was tender (not totally dried?) and the string puller hurted her... It's not really a problem for me 'cause it's an inner part. But it's awful to see that this great company doesn't care very much about their dolls...
morrigan>> which part of your dion leg has the holes? i'd like to know since i have one and want to check. i just did a cursory check of his ankle (since that's the only part i can look at anyway, without unstringing him) and he seems fine.
Sorry that happened to you. This is making me nervous about buying a new bjd now, especially from luts @_@.
The only thing I've noticed is the resin of the eyes of my MNF Shiwoo vamp is really thin. It's probably a good thing I'm meaning to have his eyes opened, or else I'd be sticking some milliput back there about now. ><
I read through all the responses here and I applaud you Bread17 for handling this matter and the responses in a very calm and polite manner. I'm very concerned since I wanted to order 2 dolls from Luts. I have a Nanuri 07 which I bought second hand and the only thing that bothered me was the thin eyelids and I thought that was normal. It probably is? Your post was very informative and I thank you posting it up to let future customer know of possible consequences. That's pretty harsh. Bread17 has admitted that it's her fault for being careless but I dont think she asked for it. If the leg broke while it was stored, other factors would have affected it like pressure, temperature, resin batch, when and how it was casted, etc. Like she has said, how would she know that it would break after she stored it? She didn't. What if she did check the body thoroughly and the crack still appeared, would it still be her fault? I would consider resin casting science, not art and that's why the quality can be poor from company to company (not just Luts) and from time to time. I think the resin mix was poor probably because it didn't have enough moisture (or too much) for chapping to occur. The casting was also very poor from the picture she's shown which is why the chip occurred. Art is no excuse when you start to mass produce and become "popular". Luts really need to take better responsibility as they become "popular" because there will be more customers, more demands, thus more responsibility. Bread17 has posted her experience to inform customer what possiblities do exist if you buy from Luts. It's here so people can learn something from this bad experience and prevent it themselves. I dont think it'll actually hinder people to buy from Luts but make them more knowledgeable. The post is pretty much a review of the company. If you've got great experiences, then kudos for you. Some people just aren't as fortunate. Kind of off topic but along the similar lines... I've always been curious about this, but how does the Luts company work itself? I've read that someone said that 10 people are invovled, but what are their positions and duties? I hear people talking about quality check team and guarantees and all that, but do they have the resources to do that? There is a lot of assumption going on about how the company works, but I've seen no real concrete information. I dont know what Korean company ethic and value are like, but I know it's totally different from America and Japan. And from all these responses, I'm seeing a lot of Western corporate work ethic imposed onto Luts as if they work like an American/Western corporation. Dunno if they actually work that way...
Eh... sorry... my friends all tell me they can never tell when I'm being sarcastic or not... I guess it's even harder online. xD (I live in the US, and here, you can sue anyone for anything... xD It's crazy. Someone in the middle east just sued God for the war... xP So saying you're sueing someone here isn't even taken seriously anymore... xD) Btw... have you ever bought doll outfits from Luts? I want to know the quality of those before I make my order...
We've seen more than enough stories of people who've had bad luck with Luts resin quality. Some dolls have arrived broken, some have bothered to look close enough to see oncoming problems. So actually, I'm under the distinct impression bread posted her experience here to complain about the fact that Luts wouldn't send her a new leg for free after she waited for two months to even look at the doll again. Given the severity of the crack, plus the shape the inside of the leg is in, I really have little doubt if she'd looked carefully she wouldn't have seen the flaws in that part of the leg. And to expand on what I said, resin casting isn't an exact science because too many unpredictable factors come to play in the turn out of how a piece ends up. Weather conditions (particularly humidity), air bubbles, ect. If resin casting were an exact science this things wouldn't matter, or at the very least could be countered in order to produce a perfect batch. No such luck on that front though. I have only ever ordered one outfit from Luts, it was a Sadol limited, so I don't imagine it was actually made by them. I have seen clothes from Luts in person though and from what I've seen they've been a very nice quality. I think the quality of clothing is probably a lot easier for them to control than the quality of their resin.
To be honest while stringing the body at least the thing parts of resin must have been very noticeable. It is very bad that they just let it stay there. This is an issue that must have been very noticeable to the one who strung the body. How on earth can they let that kinf of miscast even been send off to a customer? Yes the exterior faults should have been mentioned sooner and she knows that by now. However an issue like the badly composed body joint is just sad to see.
But what if the flaw happens by itself months after payment because bad quality of resin? My first luts doll, actually my first doll -- S, The skin of his original body got broken about two months after he was back home (under detailed care, of course). And luts told me that those are their NORMAL resin quality. Actually I have dolls from FOUR company, they are all kept in SAME conditions and ONLY LUTS's got crackle skin. And I've heard about so many quality problems about LUTS around my friends, either be noticed in time or not. If it is just a "luck of the draw" thing, I think the goddess really hates us A LOT.
Aerthis, I totally agree with that. I'm sorry if people think I'm implying this is no fault of Luts. They most definitely should have taken better care when checking dolls for quality. Personally, I know I will be sending them a message tonight myself. I just recieved my Lu-wen yesterday, and this morning when looking him over I found that one of his leg holes has been drilled too closed to the side. It actually resembles Bread's Shushu's leg quite a bit. So I plan on photographing it and sending them the photos.
bread17: Thank you for sharing your experience. I think all of us here learned a good lesson and acknowledged what you've experienced. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this *hugs* It's really sad to see such bad resin quality =( I have a Delf EL, i bought him around Nov 2005 and when he came home, he was perfectly fine (or so i think?). I don't think it's unreasonable to not check your dolls entirely. I mean, when i got him back, i didn't even check the inside parts! O_o I wouldn't say he's 100% perfect because I noticed his face up wasn't that perfect. Well, just a little tiny mistake near the eyes but I didn't complain. Plus the fact that I was still pretty new to BJD back then and I knew very little. I don't think i knew how to differentiate what's perfect and imperfect resin. Also, I don't think it's weird for someone to put her dolls away in a box for 2 months. Why not? I put my boy away for months before because I was so busy with college, and also I was away from home (i didn't bring him along). Even if it's a brand new doll, it's still possible for someone to put her dolls away for some reasons. I guess "bread17" has her own reasons. Well i think everyone has pretty much said everything. I guess for now we can only hope that Luts will improve their quality of resins and customer services. I too, have always adored Luts productions. [edit] Actually i've taken him apart before and tried to re-string him (because he refused to stand! still ahvign that problem actually T__T ) and I can't remember much if the quality is bad or not. I guess not, if so i would have noticed. Now i'm too afraid to take him apart again *sweat* My..aren't they fragile. And yes, i've been hearing alot of problems from Luts lately
Sorry, but I never complained, since it is always of no use at all : ) If I appeared like complaining, I'm so sorry. Maybe because I was upset during those days I was busy to death because I'm facing my graduation from my university, so I didn't care enough for the shushu doll. As I said, no matter the broken happened before or after I stored her, it is my own fault. If I want to complain, I can hide all the situations which is bad to me (such as I didn't check the doll for the next two months after store her to the box). But I told all details to you and let you to judge by yourself. Please trust me, I was trying my best to stay calm after all those terrible things happens to my luts dolls ( not only shushu, but also my most precious baby -- S). If it made you feel bad, I'm so sorry. Actually I didn't want to post this thread at all, since I know I was also wrong for not checking the doll carefully. But when I finally saw the inside of the calf part, I was shocked by LUTS's POOR quality and thought I should do something, not only to warn people, but also to awake LUTS. Because no matter what happens, I was a SUPER fan of luts dolls and EL will forever be my most favorite mold. I was somewhat upset when I posted this thread, but I was also more than SAD to see luts' change. Believe it or not, I really want to tell people proudly one day, that LUTS is the BEST doll company in the world, and I'm a SUPER fan of their dolls. But now, I can't.
actually i think i might have heard awhile back that they began thinning the resin behind sleeping (and dreaming?) heads in the middle of the elf yder batch, because of feedback that a lot of people found the resin too thick to make modding the eyes easy. ...perhaps they might have gone a little overboard, because when i first got my (now sold) MNF elf shiwoo, i could see light glowing through it. -__-;; i'd say it might be the climate, but i imagine china's weather ought to be similar to korea's. o.o much more so than the singaporean tropical climate. i've not seen any such crackling in my boys. did they all (all the dolls with crackling) come from approximately the same batch/period? they might have had a bad batch of resin or poor climate during the casting period. in the case of your crackled-skinned boy, i feel that it's perfectly justified to let them know that a crackled skin is NOT the normal apparence of a CP doll. D: it's rather horrible that they keep trying to pass off these defects (the crackled skin and uneven jointing/hole-drilling) as normal. i think the best thing to do in such a situation is tell them firmly that the defects are most definitely NOT normal, as many others have dolls which are in far better arrival condition (i'm uncertain if you could take the same stand regarding the crackling, as they may pull the 'country climate' card on you, unless many people with dolls from that batch period have similar problems). it would be wise to check dolls from them as well, if you're afraid that you might receive a doll in less-than-ideal condition from them. i certainly will, in light of all these new complaints. however, i don't think it will, currently, at least, impact on whether i'll continue buying from them. i do feel that you have a genuine cause for complaint, though. D: did they ever send you a replacement part that WASN'T as flawed as your original piece?
That's what the post started off with, but that wasn't her point throughout the post. I think you've misunderstood what she was trying to say. Her point was that she trusted Luts to do a good job with their dolls, but instead, recieved poor quality work and service which doubted her faith to Luts. (hence the subject of this post) She said that she considered herself naive for believing that Luts is still a good company with great service and quality as they continue to grow. Her experience plus her friend's experience has proven her wrong so far. She just wanted to inform people of this. Like I've said, it's a review of the company. If many people have gotten great experience, it wont actually stop people from buying. Bread17: Have you posted this to Luts' site yet and made the post public? It will definitely make them do something if other customers see it.
Thank you : ) I've posted this to LUTS site and was doubted by customers on LUTS board as I've "expected"... Luts's answer was "you make us start to think a lot" etc etc.... But the dolls from luts to my friends around here continue to show different colors ( two different resin colors in the same doll's parts) and broken parts ( the neck part of a Lu-Wen doll etc). I'm afraid that I've been totally disappointed now. But I'm still in hope that one day they may REALLY start to think about all the problems. I posted on their board and asked them TWICE -- What if the new part get broken again. They TOTALLY AVIOD my question, and NEVER mentioned sending me a part in good quality. What they said was " Thank you, we start to think a lot", "If you XXXXX, we won't blame you" LOL BTW, for the crackle-skinned dolls, I'M SURE that THEY KNOW EXACTLY what happened, since they have their own eyes and brains in "good quality". They just don't what to admit that. Whatever. I really don't want to think about it. S will NEVER use LUTS' body, and it won't disturb me at all from now on. No matter the later dolls will crackle or not, there's nothing to do with me. Sorry, I used to want to argue with luts about that ---- It may benifit their furture quality control. But now, I've changed my mind ---- I DON'T want to be critically questioned by luts' lovers any more.
wah...I'm really sorry to hear about this bad experience! I'm so in love with Luts dolls as well...but now I'd rather think twice before buying any!!! Thankx you so much for sharing!
I'm feel so sorry for you bread17, Luts should have much more responsibility than this for their products and customers. It's so bad that they just avoid the problem they made.
bread>> you meant they still won't replace your mnf's wonky ankle with a proper replacement part??!!! that's horrible!! :0
No, they won't. And I don't want to ask for it any more -- I prefer to repair it by myself after all these horrible experiences.
Actually I think they just pretented that they didn't see my question. Because I tried to ask them twice but they never answer me. They just use "We'll think a lot" to fence with all the questions. They never gave me any reason~~ Maybe the reason would be "we are considering this calf part as one of our normal quality products" if there were any? Who knows...
I wasn't able to read the whole thread ... sorry if i say or ask something that was writen over and over before .. ^^" I recieved my Lu-wen a few days ago .. this thread really shocked me .. so i ran to my boy for checking everything again .. i checked him very well after opening his boy .. but this made me kinda paranoid .. ^^ .. What i was able to read was in every way correct ! .. no matter that some ppl said one thing and the others the opposite one .. sometimes you have to understand the ppl answering your questions a bit more .. .. i'm working in the IT-Support-section .. and it's hard if you have to answer questions with problems you are not connected with .. .. the ppl answering you are maybe not the same ones making the dolls, checking them or sending them out ! (exceptions can happen) They are a group of ppl checking the website and only answering questions .. thats normal in a company and i really belive that for this ppl it could be also hard to tell a customer what the company wants them to say ... Sometimes i have to tell a customer too something i really don't want him/her to tell .. i wanna help them and don't want to leave them with a poor excuse .. but i can't .. because the company says that i have to give them a dissatisfieding answer .. not answering a question is another thing .. and something that really shouldn't happen .. You and your friend really had bad luck with your dolls .. that can happen .. Luts are making so many dolls .. and the chance is big that from time to time such things happens .. but i really support you by saying that it's not fair of them that you had to pay for only one lil' part .. that's really not a customer friendly service .. especially because you can see that it can't be made by you ! .. no normal person is able to do THAT to a doll without leaving markes on the outside of the leg ! ... i'm sorry for my bad english >.< .. at the moment i'm not sure what to think about Luts ... on one side ... i nerver had a problem with them .. on the other side .. their service seems really bad ! ... so .. what if something like this happens to me too ?! .. would the service also be that bad ? or does everything will be fine ? .. it's hard to say ... i hope that such things don't happen again
Hi Bread17 I moved this thread to Company Reviews and Feedback since it seems more appropriate there.
Did you send the pics to Luts, showing the inner part of your Shushu's leg? After seeing that, and how the resine is uneven and thinner in some parts, it's easy to understand that the leg broke due to low quality manufacturing. They should have replaced the broken part for free!. Did you insist in stating that it wasn't your fault? I LOVE CP dolls and will always love them. I had some little incidents in the past, but I've always found a solution, Luts was communicative and reasonable; I just had to insist a little... or getting rather boring, until they finally had to pay attention to me. Latelly, the are making a lot of mistakes and their customer service is no longer as good as it used to be. I absolutely avoid to buy something to them in event season, because they are overloaded with tons of orders and their service is far more deficient. I hope they will return to their old way to do things and deal with their customers, elsewhere, their sales will drop: there are lots of other doll firms...
First f all I have to say I am very sorry for everyone here that has problems, huge problems, with broken dolls and stuff like that from luts. But I would also like to point out that it isn't all bad. I bought my NaNuRi 07 and the eyes I ordered weren't with him. After some really fast emails they decided to give me the money of the eyes back into store credit as I asked for myself. Amazing service if you ask me. So, I know it is horrible what happened to these dolls, but somehow I feel kinda bad about only saying Luts is horrible and has a bad service, cause they are not and helped me very fast and very well. How many dolls here on the forum are from luts, and how many have issues? If you take these into consideration you will see what I am trying to say. Luts dolls are not bad at all, just like with every company some come with problems. It could have happened everywhere and from every company. There are so many luts dolls here on DOA, how can luts be so terrible if almost half of the dolls here are from luts? Again, I feel with you, and hope this will all be solved and your doll will be fixed.
^ Agreeing with Amaris here. It's awful what happened to you-and to others who've had trouble with Luts-no doubt about that, but so many people have received their dolls in excellent condition, it makes me a bit sad to see people say they're going to think twice about buying from Luts again because of incidents like these. So many dolls arrive perfectly, but you never hear about that. Anyway, I hope the problems with your doll will be solved soon!
Not to start an argument, just commenting, so I hope I'm not shoving myself into this disagreement here by posting this... But the reason why no one ever hears about all the dolls that arrive perfectly is because it's expected for all dolls to arrive in perfect condition. It's not something to take note of, because that's the standard: the products you buy should have no problems and no defects. I mean, for example, if you buy an oil painting online, you are expecting to get a perfect painting without any defects on it (i.e. scratches, extra pen marks on the painting, canvas tears, etc). You are NOT expecting an oil painting with a ripped canvas, or a chipped frame. What I'm trying to say is, people don't (and shouldn't) have to post that they got a doll in perfect shape, because they're supposed to get one. If they don't, then they have every right to post a board about it, because it should not be happening, at least not at such a high frequency rate. (Please note that I'm not blaming Luts in any way shape or form... mistakes happen all the time, and it's unavoidable. Although I guess their customer service could be a little bit better... and more responsive (only based on my experience though). )
Oh yeah! I almost forgot... I don't think anyone should be telling bread17 to keep buying dolls from Luts, and brush off her experiences like that... I mean, it's perfectly fine if you love Luts and think they're totally awesome, but obviously she doesn't feel that way, and it's not right to be imposing your opinions on someone else and telling them that they shouldn't care about their own opinions because they aren't important. I'm not directing this at anyone... but I've read a few posts that seem to be implying that her experiences with Luts are insignificant and she should still buy from Luts because it's a great company with gorgeous dolls... I might have interpreted these posts wrong, and I apologize in advance. Please remember that I am not directing this at anyone, it's just a general comment... so please don't form a mob against me and plan a tarring and feathering against me...
I agree with iraelys... All the "brand new" things we buy supposed to be in perfect condition. And if it's broken the company should always have the responsible to replace the broken item. I'm sure that no one will waste their money for such a defective product. Luts' way of treating costumers is against the business etiquette. They should treat each customers in the best way they can what ever the problem the customer complains they shouldn't have any doubts and just comply in customer's needs. Because if they continue to be like that they'll surely lose customers. And having this thread in here where their target market is, it'll sure affect their company and they should react on the positive way rather than criticizing the complainant.
Thank you so much for all your replies : ) I posted and asked them TWICE in my different posts -- what if the new part got broken again since it was still a defective one. They just ignore the questions and only told me that they would improve themselves, and they won't blame me. Hi Thank you so for your reply. Yes, I agree -- people all make mistakes. Actually I myself also make mistakes, much more frequently than luts does! But the only difference is --- How you treat your mistake. Admit and repair it? Or ignore and deny it. I always RESPECT people how make mistakes but admit and face it directly. They are brave.
I'll agree that Luts Q&A board is a bit patchy lately. I got a sleeping Chiwoo head a month or two ago and it didn't fit on the neck piece at all (I have other Luts dolls, and they all fitted OK, although my Nanuri was a bit tight). I posted to their Q&A and didn't get an answer - all the other questions around mine were answered. In the end I spent three hours sanding the inside to make it fit. I was lucky because at least I could fix my problem myself.
bread>> normally i don't advocate this, but given their stance, and how they seem to have reacted well to pressure before, i would suggest just continually asking them about it. let them know that much as you're glad that they aren't blaming you for it, it's still a defect on their end (seeing as how they've tried to appease you with a replacement part that jsut as equally defective) and that as a customer, you are entitled to proper service, etc. you could try emailing them as well. i normally find people who continually nag and bother companies with little things rather childish and annoying, but in your case, i think you're fully justified. they seem to think that ignoring a problem will make it go away. which shouldn't be the case. i still love the CP dolls and the service i've gotten from them, but i have to say that your experience is appalling. D:!!! and it's a genuine concern they should be looking to fix (both on your end and theirs).
I ordered a luts body a couple months ago I dont see any cracks but some of the seams are pretty dark, I call them almost like spider veins, Im pretty sure if i sand them though she'll be fine right?
I'm dreaming about MNF Shushu... But now... I read this thread... I'm shoked. I'm so sorry about broken dolls! I'm hope, then your doll will be ok, bread17!
I just found out that not only bread17 has one of these problems, but another customer also has this problem too. This picture below belong to 夜未央 She said that she bought El on September 1 in last year. At Jan 2 in this year, she found out that her El's hand has some chaps after she took some pictures of him. Personally, I think LUTS should focus more on how to make a better quality of resin. They should not keep releasing too many new dolls. *Sigh*
EDIT: just saw the pic. perhaps that was in the same batch as the other dolls that have been mentioned in this thread to have the crackled skin?
I'm a little scared right now... I want Chiwoo but will I dare to order him from lust now after having read this thread ?
i dont know why but this does not deter me fome getting my new girl. it does make me worry tho. after seeing this i think the first thing ill do when she gets here is unstring her and give her a full checkup....and probably reinforce any thin resin if it looks like that shushu's ankle >.< geeze. thats just horrible tho
I agree that internal cracks can happen from extreme temperature and/or humidity. I haven't seen it happen with a BJD, but I did with a brand new plastic jewelry box I had. Just from two weeks in the Philippines I noticed the box start to crack and contort from the environmental circumstances moreso than the actual usage which was few. I cringe to imagine what would happen to my BJD in similar circumstances. And isn't keeping one's BJD in its for more than a week a big no-no, depending on where you are?
I was worried about this. I've been through this thread many times before I even bought my doll, but I went ahead anyway, thinking things would be different. I've noticed them before, but I thought it was just my eyes or my imagination. But I'm looking at my doll's hands right now and I can see them (around the area of the index finger on his right hand.) My EL is only month old (he arrived August 24), so...I'm more than a little disappointed. I guess I don't mind so much since they're on his hands but there might be a time when I want to photograph them and I don't want those ugly chaps to be there. What worries me is that they can be seen on his body and I don't want that.
I didn't visit this thread for a while... I have no pictures of the weak resin spot in my El's ankle. I already "thickened" it with epoxy glue, to prevent it from breaking. But I'm a little angry at Luts, because I asked them SO MANY TIMES to make a good quality check on him, and to check the ankles for similar problems as the ones that happened on Minifees. I didn't bother to contact them about it, because I'll SURE they'll say it's "normal". Argh... Edit: Looking more closely at his torso, up the breast, it is "spotted" (little rough spots, not unlike redhead marks - there is no discoloration, just texture difference, but it's visible under direct light), did anymore else have this problem?
Oh god =/ I just bought an el few days ago and I'm scared by the issues everybody had recently with Luts รฉรจ That's really frightening. I feel so sorry for those who have problems with their dolls ...
they sort of look like normal skin texture on the brighter side - unless they compramise the resin strength - keep us posted on how these imperfections turn out over time!!!
Uhmmm...I think I know why chaps are appearing...I think it's the drastic change of temperature. Example...conduction...Your doll is stored in a warm place then you bath him/her in cold water. this is only an example...their might be other things aside from this. It's all based on drastic temperature change. Even a rock would have a crack or it'll even explode because of drastic temperature change.
I think I know what you mean. I see some of those around his neck/chest area. And it is rough (in fact he came with rough patches, but I was told it was something that would wear off with play.) So far it hasn't and I was thinking that maybe I need to sand him. 0__o He has the same feeling on his arm, one of his legs and his feet. ><
Ouch, those crackles remind me of how wax peels and cracks when you pull a pin through it- and wax cracking isnt exactly the kind of thing you want to associate with a $500+ RESIN doll. On a similar note, I have been looking for the thread about faceup issues... is there a thread for it? I have always admired Luts faceups.. And had always planned to get one, when I ordered so if there are issues coming up, well you know.. As far as Bread's problems with Luts.. That really is a horribly cast product, I'm sorry.. but it is. There is no other way to validate the inner ankle looking like that, because even in rough CLAY sculpts it shouldnt look like that.. in my opinion it looks as if they didnt put enough resin into the mold and so, some spots just arent filled in. Not checking for surface damage is one thing- but with construction like that, the crack could form at ANY time, and it is not her fault because she was not the one pouring the resin into the doll mold. That is my opinion.. Though I know Luts considers this 'fixed' hopefully if you and others stand up to them they will realize they cant pull one over on us just because we pay $60 both ways in shipping to get anything done by them. >.< OT a little bit, but someone said they think only ten people work at Luts. For the sheer volume of dolls they turn out each month that would be hard to believe. Luts is probably a midsize company, I think once before on here I have seen pics of Luts or another Korean companies factory/warehouse and it was quite big, mind you this was a company smaller than Luts.. So I dont think that they would have only 10 people doing the job of a small army.. Just an observation.. However if they really are only ten people, they must be very fit? Running around with big buckets of resin and blocks of silicone.. it's a funny picture
kakurachan>> i've never experienced any problems with LUTS faceups. i've had my el for more than a year and apart from a bit of paint flaking off from the underside of his top eyelid (which was completely my fault and due to numerous eyelash reattachments), his faceup is still as it arrived to me. :3 no smudging, flaking, smearing, fading, etc. :3 and they do excellent faceups. their detail and technique are awesome. i'm hoping they get up their custom faceup service again. X3
Maybe its just the custom faceup service thing though. But I read through this thread and people were saying something happened with the faces I really think Luts might be having growing pains, but that is still no excuse to give poor customer service how they sometimes do. Maybe they are becoming a bit too americanized! lol
Mine was from Jan. 2006. And this one was from Sep. 2006 I don't think they belong to the same batch.
My dolls are all kept in my room without sunlight, and I keep the room temperature around 20~25 degree centigrade by air conditioner. None of my other dolls has that crackle problem, ONLY luts.
Wow, so many luts problems. That's a little disappointing, but I really do love the luts doll models alot so I guess I'll be taking my chances with my doll family (which is mostly CP DElf and Kid-Delf). Sorry for all the trouble you got, bread17 *hug* : )
Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your doll! Now I'm all paranoid hoping my Lu-Wen doesn't arrive in a similar predicament.
