Also wanted to link to somewhat of a reference for a Delf (faded NS) on a Fairyland Feeple65 (dyed/sanded BW) body just in case it might help someone out at some point.

Honestly i'm excited for winter just so i can attempt to order my Delf Yuu - i really do hope they bring back the tans yet again because they're so lovely.
I can't decide between Terra Cotta and Bronze.

I'm also excited for Dan - i've been making his outfit already haha ^^

@KittyOrochimaru - Thank you--I'm really happy to hear that! I'm glad that the comparison may be of some use too--it's a funky combo that surprised me quite a bit. Ooh, a tan Yuu would be even more special--would make for a very striking doll! What is the style of the outfit for Dan, if I may ask? I always have a hard time choosing a singular style direction for a doll--too many good options out there.

Hello all i have a question
The new doll raina only has options for the glam 8 body and the sdf65 body.
Will she not work with the type 5 body then?
The two options available have such small waists and large shoulders I'm not a fan but i really love this face

I am shocked they jumped from 75 to 105. No, 80 or 90 But, really handsome!

 

105 cm! Apart from that 1:1 BJD (I forget which company it was from), will this be the largest doll line? Dollmore Trinity and Luison is ~80cm, AOD have 90cm, is there any others that are this large?

 

@ella_tron Dollmore Trinity's are 110cm tall so they still edge out this new Luts doll.

 

My Dan is a humanoid Yeti so i kinda wanna go for more warmer clothing, fuzzy stuff and maybe even a style with a poncho and a scarf.
His colors are like muted blues and reds with some ivory in there too. All quite textured clothes.

Yes a tan Yuu! I really hope i can afford it when the event goes on in the Winter - i think he'll be great.
I'd be torn between either making him my Fae King or Griffin. It depends on when i see his face in person seeing as they don't have any blank photos of him.

105cm holy cow....imagine getting your fingers pinched in those joints.

 

A yeti-based doll sounds so fun--I've not seen that done before in a bjd! I love the sound of his clothing style too--it sounds wonderfully cozy and a good excuse to use lots of layers, textures, etc. Never can go wrong with a good poncho either. I hope Yuu works out for you this winter! He definitely sounds like he has some solid options (weak spot for griffins over here ).

 

@Iceymelody You can contact Luts directly and ask them about it. Sometimes they will say you can adapt the newer heads to fit older bodies with a little rubber part that they sell. Sometimes they will flat out say no, because the difference in neck sizes is far too different between bodies.

I would be surprised if it worked. The Delf girl's neck circumference is even smaller than the SDF girl. And that already leads to some gaping.

But I completely understand your dilemma. I love the SDF65 girl faces so much but that body makes it a big no for me. If they had another body that worked I'd get Shell immediately.

I was so so exited when I read the news yesterday. If it had been possible I would have gotten Shell on a Delf girl body a year ago or so . But somehow seing Shell on the Delf body I'm not that sure anymore. The proportions of the body don't work that well with the head (for Shell at least) I think.

I still love the body and I'm super exited they are offering it with a wider neck . And I still plan on getting it. Just not for Shell but for a floating head instead.

 

I'm happy to see the "hybrid" posabilities for this! But also holding out hope that Luts will some day release an updated male Delf body that isn't single jointed (and without that extra shelf thing in the joints), maybe doesnt only have a hip torso joint (ok with this if the joints are better tho), and now isn't just a smaller version of those uber muscular superior bodies Luts has been focusing on. I mainly just want more jointing options like Senior Delf male has while keeping the aesthetic of the Delf male body. I have plans for a male Aragorn but the only available male Delf body is a big reason I haven't went for him yet.

I'm wondering if this means some of the male heads will fit the delf girl body now hmm.

My Dan arrived with my FU artist and I'll be ordering Yuu and Joe soon, can't wait!

 

I asked Luts about a new type Delf boy body 2 years ago or maybe more, and they said then they had no plans to do so. But who knows if they soon will, now that they created so many new lines of dolls. But I wonder for what reason they are holding back on making a new Delf boy body. I love the old school Delf bodies, but it would have been cool if the boys also got a new body oneday.

 

I think guys below 75cm just aren't trendy anymore. If they updated the Delf boy body I'd probably get one but I'm not counting on it .

 

I rather all my dolls have different sizes, and not just focused on one size over the other. If I'm going to have a background story for my dolls that also reflect the real world, going for the exact same height and size for all my dolls just won't do! Personally I find all sizes to be of equal importance as it help build a more diverse group of dolls. I find it disappointing and sad that what is trending is more important than giving all their dolls equal love. Those larger dolls could have some younger brothers, for example, and Delfs are perfect for that

I currently only have my SDF65 Sweety Bliss if I count any Luts doll that will be part of his background story. I'd love to have a Luts doll of each size if I have room, so a Delf boy is definitely on the list. I have a CP Delf Juri B who oneday need to get a body. But I wouldn't mind though having him on the old Delf boy body since he's such an old sculpt. Still, I'd be really happy to see the Delf boys getting a little bit more love and attention!

 

I'm mostly surprised they haven't updated the joints on the Delf male. It's still basically single jointed (those kip things don't make up for double jointing). They could release the exact same body but with double jointing like the Senior Delf male have, and it would be a much needed update.

Forever cries about Baby Delfs only ever getting one limited elf head and one body option.

 

Yes, I too really love the Delf boy body as it is, but an update of the body would be nice!

 

About the new body and the promo for it - they show comparisons of a Senior Delf Muse head on the Delf girl body, but there are no Muse sculpts in the head list. Does that mean we can't order the body with heads that aren't on the list even if they're compatible?

 

I'd probably just reach out to them on their Q&A board. Most likely they just forgot to add them.

 

I am so sad! I saw a Delf Nina up second hand on Mandarake. Came with her original box and COA and company face up and everything. I have adored that doll for so long but can't quite afford her right now. She was only about 200 USD second hand here though, on the old type 3 body. I was immediately going to get her but then the listing showed her as sold out Oh well! She's available new on Denver Doll so I will save up and get her sometime this year or next She's my grail doll, and the doll that got me interested in the hobby years ago. Until then, I'll look around here and admire everyone else's lovely Delfs

 

By the way, I was wondering- is it easier/better in your experience to order from Denver Doll? Or from Luts directly? I'd imagine it's up to waiting times, international shipping (I'm in the US), and convenience; but I was just curious. Nina is about 40 dollars cheaper on Luts than Denver Doll, but I suppose that's because of processing and other things they deal with for you. Plus Luts offers the Peach color where Denver Doll only has natural, tan, and white. The peach is honestly so lovely in my opinion so I am kinda wondering if I should order off Luts just to get it.

 

Ordering directly from Luts is much faster tgan through a dealer. So I'd definitely recommend to order directly. Luts offers layaway as well .

 

I have found that the time differences are not that much through DDE. Also, if you find something for sale on the Luts site, DDE will sometimes be able to order it for you if you call them or email and ask. They have always responded very quickly to me. DDE also has lay-away that is VERY easy to do! You can pay it off early, always see what is still due and when it is due and no waiting for someone to email you back!

 

I second ordering direct. Mostly because every time I've ordered via DDE, it's added quite a bit of wait time. That said, DDE should be able to order a doll in peach. They don't have everything listed on their site but so long as it's available from Luts, they should be able to order it as well.

Also I haven't shown her around a ton but I have a Nina with default faceup. Good excuse to share~

 

Your Nina is so pretty! Thank you guys for the advice I will have to save up for a bit either way, but the layaway option is very nice off DDE, and good to know if I ask they can do the peach! I ordered another doll from them and they were very kind, responsive, and helpful so I would be happy to do business with them again. But also good to know Luts wait times are not long and that they also offer layaway

 

So I asked a similar question in the KDF thread, but now I’m curious about the Delf girls- does the type 5 girl body have much flexibility at the hip/thigh joint? My old KDF can do the splits, but my KDF type 5 is much more limited, and my new HDF is super stiff, which looks really unnatural. If I want my upcoming girl to be able to do casual, slouchy poses, would I be better off just dealing with the single joints on the type 3?

 

Whoops I just realized it was the Delf type 5 girl body, not the Senior Delf type 5 girl body you were asking about. What I typed before is about the Senior Delf type 5 girl body. But! I do have the Delf type 5 girl body as well, lol. The hips are the same setup with the peg bar unfortunately. Much better knee setup than the Senior Delf type 5 girl body though. I'll also be getting a Delf type 3 girl body in about a month and can show comparison pics of the two later if I'm reminded.

I just got a new (to me) type 5 Senior Delf girl in last week. She has the same sort of hip system with the peg bar as the Kid Delf multi body. Where the elastic does not go all the way from ankle to neck and instead the legs are strung individually/separate from the torso. Most newer Luts bodies seem to have those type of hips these days. Which is fine for most posing but they wouldn't be able to do the splits. The type 5 Senior Delf also takes this a step further by the legs are actually strung from hip to knee with one piece of elastic, then knee to ankle with another piece of elastic. A very odd setup and I'm still getting used to how the knees even bend as you have to pull them out before they can be bent as well as have to line up a metal bar to fit into a slot in the resin in the back of the knee. Overall I feel like her legs are pretty limited at posing, but the joint system is a neat concept.

 

Thank you for the info! That’s such an odd system for the SDF body! Yeah while I don’t need a doll to actually be able to do a splits, I like posing them in casual/slouchy sitting positions, especially on furniture. Can’t really sit backwards on a chair if your legs are stuck at shoulder width apart, crossing legs becomes a problem, etc. haha

 

I actually find the Delf type 5 body to be a very good poser once you get used to how the joints work. She sits really nicely in a slouched position. I’ll have to get some photos to share for you tomorrow.

My Dan is back from his faceup!



He's currently borrowing a normal skin type 1 body until i order delf yuu in easter!

 

Wow, that is Dan?! Finally I get to see owner images of him When Dan were first released he did catch my interest because his face were so different. But in the end I did not end up getting him because when I build my group of dolls I follow a background story, and I just did not find any place for him. I also follow this rule where I only allow 1 Luts doll of each size. So, only one Delf boy, and since I got a CP Delf Juri B head, eventually he'll get a Delf body. I had to prioritize him. But every now and then I check out Dan's official images because he still have my attention. It's kind of hard to resist imagining all the cool characters Dan could have been if I ordered him, but because I don't have the best space to keep dolls he'll probably just be a sculpt I keep admiring.

But do you think you could take an image of your Dan without the wig on? I still don't know what to do, I'm hoping maybe seeing some owner images might help figuring things out

Originally I were going to oneday get a Muse Jean, but now I'm wondering maybe a Delf Dan head on the Muse body could have been a good idea! At least then I won't break my "only one of each size" rule. Jean were supposed to be a genderless, shapeshifting kind of creature, but I guess it does not have to be Jean if it turns out I'm not able to let go of the Dan sculpt.

I'm not quite back into my doll hobby yet though, as I've had to for some time now, prioritize some other things outside of my hobby. But that does not stop me from planning my future dolls

 

I actually have a sdf Jean on the way just the head though back when they did the head event.
I'll photograph them together when she arrives!

I've been trying throughout the years to find owner images of Dan, but up to now I have not found any, other than your images. But seeing your Dan did draw me back to many years ago when I first had a look at Dan's official images. But of course I've ended up looking at Yeon who were released together with Dan as well. I find her super cute too, and I find myself imagining them as siblings. I'm not the kind of person that buys dolls on impulse and I always take my time to really think things through! But, I did not expect 2 Delfs would suddenly end up tempting me so

That's the difficult part of this hobby, so many dolls that are hard to resist


I'm really wondering how Dan would look on a SDF male body. I feel like a Muse body will be too close in height to my Bliss's SDF65 body. I still like the idea of Dan being smaller than my Bliss, but I can't have him on a Delf body because of the "no more than one Luts doll of each size" rule I got! And because my CP Delf Juri B head is the one that will be on a Delf body. I tried my CP Delf Juri B on a SDF type 3 body and I were not happy with how he looked!

I'm very serious about my "only one of each size" rule because of the smaller space I got to keep my dolls, so it's important to me to not have any duplicate bodies. I prefer to feel like my doll crew got more diversity. And having dolls of different heights is one way to create a more diverse group!

 

Luts seems to be discontinuing some bodies. There's a lot of SDF. We offer a 20% discount on the body to be discontinued, so I hope you can refer to it.

The head sculpts are more important, but it's still sad news that they are discontinuing some bodies

I loved how many different body types they had to offer, so I'm sad to see the SDF boy type 3 body go as I like to have another option that is non-muscular, certain type of characters look better that way. And I'm sad to see DF girl type 3 body go as that body is nostalgia itself, what we had left of a time when the old CP Delfs were still available! Also for anybody who have managed to find a floating CP DF head on the MP, they won't be able to get the old girl body anymore... I have owned a SOONY in my past but for personal reasons back then I sold her. But I love that body because it feels a bit fuller, so this is really sad news. How I would have loved to have a girl on the type 3 body again, also so that I could have a shorter DF girl. But I just don't have the oportunity to do any orders at the moment. I'm not quite back in my BJD hobby yet although I try to save up money little by little to finish my old doll plans

I'm also sad to se KDF type 3 and 5 go as I do love single jointed because of the old school feeling it gives, and I really loved it that they had a chubbier kid type body, it fit nicely when you wanted a KDF to be a child of a SD sculpt and not a mini mature teen!

Basically I'm sad to see all these bodies go, so many I never got to own. Luts having so many body options were one of the things I really loved about them!

 

Ugh... if they would offer all the skin colors for the sale, I might have gotten a tan body for a hybrid. And now if I ever get my hands on a Clary head, getting a body for just got a lot harder. I am so bummed!

I am a little confused about the Delf girl #6 body released a couple months ago. It says it's 5 but more compatible with certain dolls such as vers and boys heads. It also says "other companies 60-65cm doll heads."
Does it work with Luts senior delf 65? If i look at Shell this is not an added body option. I dislike the two body options her size and if this works itd be a good solution in my opinion but it's a little unclear to me

I believe the difference is that the Type 6 Delf girl body has a thicker neck. There is also a picture of Shell with Type 5 Delf and Type 6 Delf bodies compared. Not sure why Luts doesn't have the Type 6 Delf body as an option for Shell but if you contact them they, they may be able to offer that.

Aww, sad to see so many older bodies get discontinued, especially the SDF and Delf girls. Very sad to see the older Delf girl body go. I'm not a big fan of the newer version(s); the posing is quite nice, but to me it somehow lacks the aesthetic charm of the older version.

I've been pondering whether or not to keep my SDF Aru head, and if I keep her I'd want her on that Delf body, so looks like I'll have to decide soon! The $148 shipping is quite the deterrent, though. I wonder if DDE will have this 20% off deal? Heck, even if they don't, they'd probably still be cheaper with shipping for those of us in the US.

 

Which body did Clary use? Cause I’ve been wanting her for ages!

Also, tried asking in Senior Delf too, but does anyone know if a DOT head would fit on a Senior Delf Type 1 Boy Body? I’ve had this event head from like 2013 or 2014 from Dream of Doll, but never had a way to get the body for it before they went under. The Type 1 is like exactly what I wanted for it, but I can’t tell if the measurements I found for Senior Delf and DOT are compatible or not. I only have Delf Nina and Claus here or I’d test one of them.

Also really hoping they bring back Arwen with Real Brown Skin tone option x_X her and Aragorn were my next ideal pair.

 

I give up for now, don't know whether I should choose Delf Dan or Muse Jean

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to think too, that I'm probably going to need both XD I'm also starting to think of Dan in either mint gray or lavender. I've currently only saved up halfway to pay for one of them, but I'll put some more money into my doll funds soon. I've had to slow down on my doll fund saving for some time because of other things, it haven't allowed me to be in my doll hobby quite as much as before. But I have to keep my eyes on Luts in case they have a limited resin color event. I feel like creating a non-human kind of character

I love jean too But I'm starting to think there's no way to choose between the 2, so I guess I'm going to have to work towards getting both!



Edit: Seems like my choice have fallen on Dan first Once I started thinking of getting him in an unusual skin, resin color, the ball kept on rolling and I started planning his character

I decided for the lavender resin color. I also contacted Luts on the Q&A to ask if they are planning another event for the special resin. I really hope there will be an event soon!

 

Their pastel resin tones are usually available in summer. Fingers crissed you can get Dan then .
